Kagome reached over, taking Inuyasha's hand in her own. She'd had so many close calls since falling down the well. It might as well be that her whole life in the feudal era was one long close call. She'd been kidnapped, shot at, had swords pointed in her direction, been burned, almost had her soul ripped from her body and been eaten more times than she could really count. But between her own quick thinking and Inuyasha's strength she had always come out alive.

The last fight had been so much closer. So much closer that she was still recovering in Kaede's hut, her side stitched and bandaged and aching like something had taken a chunk out of her. Though ... to be fair, something had. It was a close thing, a few more inches it would have hit something important, like a kidney or her liver. As it was she had bled terribly, and pain still lanced through her, but she'd make it.

She drew his hand over and pressed her lips to his knuckles. "You should know you're not getting rid of me that easily Inuyasha," she gave him a small smile. "You're not getting rid of me ever."

Under usual circumstances, Kagome would've exploded with an emotional outpour of love and affection, grabbing Nezuko and giving her a bear hug while fawning over how cute she was all the while. But in the specificity of the words, her expression had softened, words falling gentle as stars, gaze entirely captivated by the demon girl who presented such familiarity Kagome felt as though she'd always known her in her heart. With them a swirl of confidence and desire to protect.

"Hey! That's my line!" She murmurs, a smirk managed on the corner of her lips as she reached out to still pull Nezuko into a hug. Nezuko was Nezuko, simply put. Kagome's sympathy toward demons hadn't once yielded--if anything, Nezuko had only strengthened the priestess' resolve they could all coexist. Or that there was a cure somewhere out there. There was always a solution. She'd grown attached, as she always did with her companions, wanting to fiercely protect and care for them, even if it meant her life.

With her chin resting against the smaller woman's head, Kagome stared off to the horizon, thoughts filled with nostalgic memories of return. "Some day...I hope I can show you my world. I'd take you to Wacdnalds, and we'd go shopping, and you could meet my friends! My mom and Sōta would love you." Buyo would be an amusing interaction too, considering the cat had always enjoyed playing with Inuyasha. There's a pause and Kagome sighs, a defeated and exasperated expression swiftly replacing the softened one from before. "School sucks though...ignorance in truly bliss."

Kagome's hands stilled as she stopped grating the ginger they needed for their dinner. Turning she looked up at him, a soft smile warming her face. It meant so much to her that she was someone he trusted, that she was the person he wanted to tell things too. "I want to hear it all," she promised him, "Everything you ever want to confide in me, I want to hear it," she said. "I've already told you so much about myself, I never thought ... I never thought I'd get to tell anyone what I've been through. It took such a weight off my shoulders to be able to tell you, Megumi-kun," she said, "I want to ease your burdens too. Tell me everything."

(¸.• ♛ → it was strange how everything in this city works. one day everything was so chaotic and now everything was calm. kagome was truly hoping for everything to be better, for them, it was time to finally being able to have a moment of peace and just being together. she missed inuyasha a lot, even if he was still around, he didn't remember her but now he did and she wanted to recover some of the lost time together and now she wanted to make sure that he was okay as well.

"how are you feeling?" she asked, turning around to look at him, worried all over her face because after what happened to him, she wanted to make sure how he was feeling at the moment. since now they were here, she was hoping for them to have an evening together, like some small date or something, this might be good as well for them to distract themselves from everything.

Hi! I really appreciate what you guys are doing here. It's amazing that you find the time alongside your busy lives!

I've been looking for a fic for a really long time. It was posted on either AO3 or FFN. It was a silent interaction between Mama Higurashi and Inuyasha. Mama Higurashi heard a noise in the middle of the night from Kagome's room and decided to check it out only to find Inuyasha watching Kagome. She thinks about his childhood at some point. I'm 90% sure it was posted before 2020 and that it's canon. I thought it was called Warmth but I can't find it under this name. Thank you so much!

(¸.• ♛ → "right, her name is kikyo." she says. kagome wonders if kikyo was ever going to show up as well, she didn't know if she would like that but just because right now she was at peace and waking her up again in her eyes could be cruel, unless if it was like her having her own control of her body this time so that could be good for her to just start fresh again here, she also deserves that.

the girl nodded at what he said. "yeah, modern times, like this time we are in only a bit less modern." because there are some things in her time she didn't have. "because of the people. i had my family in the modern time but i made friends in the feudal age and you were there too." so it was everything, the feudal age was her home now. "i will always answer your questions." because at the end she didn't like to lie about this, she wanted him to believe her after all. "you always believed that you were okay on your own but...we were doing a task of recovering something, we met our friends along the way. it was a monk, a demon slayer and a kitsune."

"And the woman..." Inuyasha couldn't help but ask. "What was her name?" He was still trying to wrap his mind around the fact that he'd fallen in love with a human twice. And the reincarnation of the same girl, at that. How did that even work?

"So... where did you come from? Modern times?" he asked to clarify. He did want to understand. "Why would you choose the feudal age over the modern age? Seems silly to me," he scoffed. Hearing that they traveled as a group was interesting, though. His ears even quirked. "Yeah yeah, enough already. I believe you, okay? Just as long as you keep answering my questions and it all makes sense." His brows furrowed. "This group, why would I travel with a group? I don't need anyone's help or anything."

Kagome glanced up at Toge as he spoke to her. When she had first arrived at Jujutsu High one of the things she had felt compelled and dedicated to learning was how to communicate with Toge-senpai. She thought it was important to be able to communicate with all classmates.

He was concerned for her. She gave him a warm smile. He'd caught her staring off in the distance as she tried to puzzle out the set of mysteries that laid before her. She'd literally traveled through time and yet she found everything she was dealing with here more confusing. Sukuna, the cursed people who had been put asleep, the break in at the school, they were all tied together but she wasn't sure how or by who.

And she wasn't supposed to talk about it with anyone ... well outside of Gojo-sensei and Megumi.

"Yeah," she said, looking over at him. "I was thinking about how Maki-senpai was talking about how the school was attacked recently. It got me thinking about the barrier here. Why isn't it more effective at keeping curses out?" she asked.

"inuyasha!" she called for him when she saw him, it was such a relief to see him. she approached quickly where he was and she couldn't help herself, she embraced him in a hug. the girl pulled away a bit to look at him. "i'm sorry just...are you okay? i was so worried about you."
