Gianna spent most of her shift down in the ED with her mother helping her out with patients that came in to try and take the load off some of the others that were working just as much and hard as she was. Thank god she was wearing tennis shoes that day because of all of the walking back and forth she was doing and her feet would’ve been on fire.

“Gia, you know you can’t do all of this on your own. Connors gonna get you for doing this.” April says to her and Gianna gave her that look.

“April, I’m fine. I wore my tennis shoes today so it’s not as bad as other days when I’m not wearing these and no you won’t say anything to him. I don’t like it when he worries.” She tells her.

a lot happened for Gianna over the last several years. She was promoted to Head of Neuro and it just so happened that she also married the love her life, Kelly Severide. Many said that it wouldn't last but after everything the two had been through, it got them to this point.

One morning, Gianna woke up early enough to get a shower and semi dressed for work, except her scrub top because she had wanted to make breakfast before either of them went off to work for the day. She turned on some music and began a quick breakfast with coffee and orange juice to drink. She put the coffee on to brew as she moved throughout the kitchen.
