Eternity was a pain. As Erik moved about his endless reality, he figured there was truly no point to it all. Not when Samar was not at his side, when he was God knows where with God knows whom. But Erik's greatest sin was pride, and he would never be the one the take responsibility first. How long had it been? Five years? Ten? Erik lost count. Veronica and Aida had urged him to move on, and Erik ignored them despite their good intentions.
What he did not expect was Lorenzo to show up at his door. Erik was in Paris, enjoying the decadent parties and drinks of the French upper class, and the Italian had found him in a rather compromising position. Erik was hungover, with a naked woman at his side. Once they were alone, Lorenzo laid the news on him.
When he heard Samar's name fall from his lips, Erik's heart dropped to his stomach. He hated the effect the older vampire had on him. It made him feel weak, it made him feel vulnerable. But it also made him feel wonderful.
Someone was hunting Samar down, for reasons yet unknown. As the leader of one of the most powerful vampire covens, Lorenzo figured that it was good to have an original vampire at his side. When Erik tried to protest, Lorenzo pointed out his charade quickly.
And how here he was. London. The place he once called home, was now nothing more than a cauldron of bad memories. The sooner I get this done, the sooner I leave. The vampire thought to himself. Erik thought of places where Samar could be. Things they had spoken of in their time together, things they had shared. They were all dead ends. All but one.
"Samar, it's been awhile..."

"As much as I would love that, I'm afraid other vampires aren't as forthcoming as me." When it came to werewolves, Erik and his family were often criticized. It was about them helping other supernatural creatures, as well as their own. Some vampires had the mentality of superiority, and there fore all other creatures were beneath them. Humans were at the bottom of that list. Erik placed a kiss upon his lovers lips, before getting up from the bed. "I'll be back before you know it." As much as Erik wanted to bite down into his neck, he withheld himself.
He had places to be, and he could not afford to be late. Not with these particular vampires.
The vampire collected himself, clothes and all. He fiddled with his tie in front of the mirror, unable to make a decent knot. "Do you know how to tie this? I'll look like a fool if I do it."
"A bite or two... I'd like that," Nick murmured, his voice a rough whisper. The prospect of Erik’s fangs sinking into his skin sent an exhilarating shiver down his spine, a sensation he found himself craving more than he dared to admit. His heart raced at the thought, each beat a mix of fear and intense desire. The idea of such an intimate connection was intoxicating.
He didn't want to seem too needy, but the thought of being apart from Erik was unbearable. So he tried to push his luck some more, continuing more earnestly this time, "I could come with you. Wait outside while you’re in the meeting. I don’t mind." The last words spilled out hurriedly, his eagerness palpable.

"I don't know what you were expecting." The vampire said in his defense. "It wasn't like you didn't know what you were getting into." His partner had just walked in on him with another person. His tone was cruel and condescending, the vampire was not known for his fidelity. "Don't look at me like that." - @reveriemxses

"Dick? Really?" The vampire questioned suddenly. Erik was starting to get angry. He was never the level headed one, he was the one who hit first and asked questions later. Without thinking, Erik grabbed Samar by the collar of his shirt. "I'll drag you by the hair if I have to." The man exclaimed, though he knew it would not be easy. Original vampires were far stronger than normal vampires, but Erik was one prideful bastard.
Before he could say anything else though, the window above them shattered. A figure had busted through the glass, before landing on it's feet behind them. "Ah shit...." The vampire standing in front of them now, was completely beastly. Fangs out, wrinkles sworn deep into his flesh. His eyes were a bright red. He looked like he hadn't eaten for days. "We have to go!" Erik grabbed Samar by the arm, just in time when another vampire jumped through the broken window.
"There's probably more, we need to leave!"
"That man who started it all? Started what? The hunt? Our species? You?" Samar asked. Without even speaking his name, he could taste the anxiousness that the other vampire left Erik feeling. "So I will be bait for him? Funnily enough your family will not be the first to do so....but the last ended massacred. Me being the only survivor." he wanted to be clear, searching his lover's face .
He reached up mindlessly to push the man's brown hair back out of his face. "As if I would do anything for myself, Erik. I would much rather do it for you. Regardless of what a dick I think you are." he said. It was rare to hear such a modern insult come from Samar, but it was most fitting.
"I need a better please. A little begging's never hurt you." Sam sighed dramatically as he pulled away to lounge back on his seat, stretching out like a cat in the sun.

"Oh, can I?" Erik tilted his head to the side, his eyes never leaving them. In truth, Erik didn't know why he bothered with getting into relationships in the first place. Perhaps it was some fucked up part of him that enjoyed toying with people, their emotions. Immortality got quite boring after a while. "I do enjoy fights, as a matter of fact." The vampire teased. "I don't need you to lecture me, Darcy. I think we've established I take advice as seriously as I take commitment."
" I don't know either I guess we are surprising us both." Darcy says clearly not impressed by what they are seeing." Blame me for having a little hope on you, I thought that you would know better, you don't." They laugh." I will look at you whatever way i like Erik, I don't see why I should keep up with false pretenses when you haven't. did you expect me to look at you with adoration?" They look at the other, they didn't hold anything against them." I would suggest that you leave unless you find fights entertaining and humors." they hold on a moment eyes still on the stranger" You could do better, much better."

Erik eyed the werewolf with a sense of...admiring. Erik found Nico to be attractive, very attractive. But Erik was better than to just throw himself at people and flirt, he would play his cards correctly. "You're speaking my language." Erik grinned but also gagged at the thought of getting Starbucks. "I really don't know how people drink that shit. Lucky for you, I know a place." The vampire beckoned the man to follow him, and they were off.
"Nice shirt, by the way." A teasing undertone to the compliment was evident. "But seriously, I want to thank you for saving my sister. Not a lot of werewolves would put their necks out on the line like that."
"We are?" Nick was blinking rapidly with confusion. Apparently he should've been more precise when demanding to be taken out for a coffee. Not on a full moon hadn't been that great of a proposed date on his part.
"You could've rang, you know? I'm not-" Ready to go out? In a mental state to go through the ordeal of combing his hair and shaving his beard? Dressed in some less grungy clothes? Oh! To hell with it! Nick decided his jeans and Legião Urbana shirt getup would have to suffice. With a bit of an early warning he could've groomed himself. He definitely would've made the effort to impress Erik. But he's already seen him like this.
"Alright. But it has to be good coffee. No Starbucks. Are you driving?"

The pain of his lover sinking his teeth into his skin was unbearable. The poison had triggered every nerve in Erik's body, made them all sensitive and alert. His body contorted off the bed, a short scream left his throat. Everything hurt, he just wanted to sleep. But through it all, Samar's comforting voice made it easier. When was the last time he was held like this? The last time someone took care of him? The vampire attached to the arm on instinct. Sweet blood entered his mouth, and Erik was instantly addicted. Red liquid spilled from the corner of his mouth, he took large gulps of it in short intervals of time.
Behind them, Aida studied the poison which was now in a vile. "This poison isn't natural..." The vampire commented. Erik detached himself from Samar's arm, already feeling the euphoric effects of drinking the elder's blood. Aida prayed it was not what she thought it was.
She stepped closer to the bed, holding the vile up to the two of them. The younger woman was not about to spill her speculations, seeing as her brother and his lover needed time. She wondered how Erik could do what he did to Samar, upon seeing how doting the dark haired vampire was. How loving. "You two need to rest." Aida fluffed some of Erik's pillows. "Samar, there is a room next to this one with a bed, if you wish to sleep. At dinner, we are having a meeting so just rest until then." And with that, she was off. Erik was left alone with the man he loved, and the man he lied to. Even in his dazed state, Erik could not help but ask.
"By make sure they don't use you when you're gone, what do you mean?"
"I don't overestimate myself, Erik." Samar assured with a little smile, his fangs poking ever so gently into his lower lip, though they did not break the tough skin. "I think you misunderstand me. I have lived a long and great life. My name will forever be in history, in legend, in myth. I have been here since the beginning of time." he rambled on, gently stroking his lover's cheek. "When it finally becomes too bleak I will be sure to destroy myself. Be sure that they will not be able to use me even after I'm gone." he said, almost thankful to be cut off by Aida's entrance. He looked over the sister and hummed a quiet hello before following his orders and scooping the large man up.
Samar sat silently at Erik's side throughout the entire process. He was unconvinced that it would work, but he continued to silently monitor his love's symptoms to make sure nothing went too south. He was so focused in fact that he hardly noticed when he was spoken to. "Hm? Yes, yes he would but we should really get the rest of the poison out." the ancient one said as he finally pushed himself up from his chair, rubbing his hands along his pants gently before approaching. Rather than ask Aida for any further advice he offered her a small nod, before turning back to Erik. "You trust me, yes?" he asked, searching the others eyes. He hardly gave Erik the time to answer before he leaned down, carefully sinking his fangs into the inflamed bite. It took him only a moment to drain the rest of the venom out, quickly spitting it onto the floor. "You're alright, darling," he hummed, sure that the other was in pain. Samar reached an arm up, biting down into his own forearm to draw blood before finally placing it against Erik's face. "Just have a little drink, dear. As much as you need. You'll feel better." Should he had told Erik about the effects of his blood? Of course. Sure his love knew about the rumors. It was true Sam's blood could cure almost anything, but it would also make the Dane stronger, faster, less susceptible to harm. He would become even more aware of his surroundings, all senses would be heightened.
He pressed a soft kiss to the brunette's forehead as he waited for him to finish.

"F-fuck off..." Erik said with a grin as Samar spoke so sweetly. Erik never really knew how to take compliments, but hated to admit that they made them blush like a madman. "I'm sure you do but uh...you shouldn't use any energy right now..." Erik groaned as another wave of pain surged through him. "You overestimate yourself...." The Dane whispered. He had his head leaned against the couch, sweat coated his entire being. His body ached, as if though he had not slept in years.
"It's one against probably thousands....you maybe an old fuck but, can't fight all of them at once..." The vampire licked his lips. He was so thirsty. "You saw them...that wasn't a normal frenzy...they were given something to make them run wild like that..." The sound of heels clicking were heard through the manor, and Aida appeared before them. "Erik!" The young vampire exclaimed, immediately at her brother's side. Erik smiled. "Samar, this is my youngest sister, Aida." His hand went up to rest upon the female's shoulder. Aida hissed. "Let's leave the introductions for later, shall we? We need to treat this." She turned her gaze to Samar. "We have to lay him down, could you please pick him up and follow me?"
---
"OW!" Aida removed the syringe from his neck. "Sorry!" Erik was not laying in bed, looking like the day he died. In the syringe was the very poison causing him so much agony. It was black, a deep void with hints of purple when in certain lights. "Most of the poison is out, but..." Aida turned to face Erik's lover, a question barely made it out of her lips. "The effects of it are not all gone. Samar, if he were to drink your blood, would he heal?" Erik groaned. "I thought you were a doctor..." Aida kicked the table, causing Erik to scream in pain. "Well? Would he heal?"
Samar looked over to Lorenzo, silently sizing him up. "They were trained. Bred for this, likely." he said with a shake of his head. Not the first time someone had tried that tactic. "Likely someone purposely finding people with bad blood." he explained as he moved to sit down besides Erik.
He reached out to gently brush his fingers along the man's neck, being careful not to add any pressure near the wound. "If...whatever this Aida has for you does not work I know how to heal this." he said, looking into his ex lover's eyes. "You will not feel pain for long, you did very well, pet." he said, doing his best not to sound condescending. It became harder and harder at his age.
"This is why I don't want your protection, you know. I don't need you to get hurt for me. I have lived a very long and a very full life. I'm not going to let them lose my blood for bad, even if I get caught, you understand. I won't let them, not even after death, okay?" he assured Erik, reaching out to push some of his hair back.

The vampire took oppurtunity to snap the neck of another vampire that chased him. The feral beast turned to ash before his eyes, and Erik found the sight strangely disturbing.
Erik didn't know why, but his neck was beginning to burn. Vampire bites don't burn this much. Something was in their fangs... Erik thought to himself, before taking his own leap. Luckily, he landed in Samar's arms since his balance was off.
The vampire stumbled, not his usual smooth self. "They had poison in their fucking fangs..." Erik breathed. "Let's go..." Erik was by no means unable to carry himself, but the pain was clouding his mind. it was tolerable now, but he could feel it building.
---
The journey back to the Manor was straining to say the least. Lorenzo's manor laid in the deepest part of the English countryside. He had witches place magical wards around the property, so only those members of the coven, and a select few could enter. The wards were already modified so that Samar was welcomed. The wound continued to burn, but Erik managed to keep himself calm. As the two entered, Lorenzo appeared from the shadows. Before the vampire could greet Samar, his eyes landed on Erik. "What the hell happened to you?" The Italian asked, while Erik took a seat in one of the couches.
"Those vampire fuckers ambushed us when I was getting him. One of them bit me." By now, the wound was purple around the sides, and the gash showed no signs of healing. Lorenzo quickly called for Aida, their sister and resident doctor.
"Were they feral?" Lorenzo asked, eyes landing on Samar as he suspected Erik was too out of it to answer.
"They followed you here. They know we're involved." Samar shouted over to his boyfriend as he continued doing his best to defend himself. Klaus was never happy to share his pets after all. Erik was worth whatever army came after him anyway. He was doing his best to make sure his lover wasn't being attacked too badly while attacking anyone who approached.
Yet once the fangs sunk into Erik, he crossed the room, about to help when the taller man slammed the vampire down. "We don't split up." he added, nodding once Erik mentioned the window. Samar went first, wanting to make sure Erik didn't get anymore hurt on the way out. The ancient ne used all of the force he had to burst down the stained glass window. Shame, he had liked that one quite a bit after all. He landed with a huff and a roll, glad to see they had chosen a side with none of the beasts. At least not yet. "C'mon," he said just loud enough for Erik's ears, holding out his arms in case he needed to catch the other.

Heáhlufe. He had not called him that in a long time. It was something he heard in the early mornings, or in the evenings after their love making. Erik was almost distracted by it, if not for the incessant screeching of the feral vampires.
"For the record, not scared!" The vampire shouted while lunging for the door. There, he found an array of weapons. Erik reached for a small axe, just in time to throw it at another vampire charging for Samar. The vampire screamed as the axe cut open it's skull. "They sent a damn army!" Erik pinned another one to the wall, his other hand tearing through his chest and pulling his heart out. What Erik did not notice though, was another vampire coming up from behind him. The feral vampire jumped on Erik's shoulders, and sunk his fangs into his neck.
It was a numbing sensation, one he had not felt in a long time. Erik screamed, as the vampire dug into him some more. The Dane moved back, hands going up to grab his attacker by the shoulders. The vampire was slammed onto the stone floor, neck snapping on impact. Erik, now with blood staining his hands, face and neck, grabbed Samar by the arm. "Let's just jump out the window and make a damn run for it! They keep coming!"
"Twat?" Samar responded, wondering if that word worked a little better. The older entity didn't so much as flinch as his love took him by the collar. "Oh darling, you've always been so flirtatious. You know how I feel about having my hair pulled." he all but hissed, though behind the annoyance, there was a want, a need for Erik. He couldn't imagine ever fighting the other. He would let Erik destroy him if that was what he really wanted.
The second the glass shattered, Samar was up, pushing Erik behind himself, desperate to protect him. "Don't be scared." he said simply. "Heáhlufe, can you do me a favor? Pay attention. There is a door to your left, hm? Carefully open it and tell me what's behind it. It should be empty. Then I want you to grab a weapon, alright? If it's clear we leave through that door." Sam continued calmly as he watched the hungry vampire.
This wasn't his first rodeo. In fact, he was a bit more prepared than usual. Still, he'd always preferred using his hands. Sam ran towards the first vampire, sliding under him at the last minute and pulling him down. He pinned the beast down with ease. "Rest, child." he breathed before breaking the wretched vampire's neck, tearing his head clean off after a moment. He had only a moment before the second vampire came for him. Samar scrambled, breaking a leg off of a chair. This kill wasn't nearly as cinematic. The red-eyed monstrosity got its claws on Samar, getting a few good slices in before he was able to plant the stake in its chest. He could do this all day, he knew, but Erik was right. Sometimes a quick escape was better to conserve energy.

"Thank you." Veronica said for the final time, before the two vampires made their way out. "You like him." The woman teased, poking the other's cheek with her finger. Erik hissed with annoyance at her. "I'll take that ring off you, you know?"
---
Erik was never one to give anything in return. He was a receiver, not a giver in most aspects of his life. The only thing he ever gave someone was pain, it was like second nature. But on the instructions of both Veronica and Lorenzo, he needed to pay the kindness back to the werewolf. The vampire begrudgingly agreed, and now found himself in front of the werewolf's door.
He gave it a hefty knock, eyes moving from side to side as if inspecting if he was being followed. "You said I could get you a coffee or something to pay you back, so we're going to get coffee." Not even a hi, not even a hello, just a command slipped past the vampires lips.
Nick had never thought about inviting any vampires in the first place. Vampires and werewolves tolerated each other like stray alley cats. With caution and sometimes clamour. Though when it was made this explicit, something must've been wrong. "Wait." Doubt etched a deep furrow between his brows. "Am I in trouble?"
Not like it mattered much. The damage was done. Or undone, in Veronica's case. He looked over to Erik as if he was searching for an answer on his face, though he was ultimately distracted by his looks. "Yeah... right. Don't catch me on a full moon, otherwise you're good. You're both welcome here."

Veronica laughed at the wolf's joke, Erik cracked a very evident smile. The vampires were a little shocked, usually anyone would jump at the chance of getting money or some other form of payment from them, but the wolf seemed...genuine. "Well, we'll out of your hair now." Erik commented, placing his arm around Veronica's waist as he helped her walk.
In the moment, Erik remembered something. Who had hurt Veronica? He had a sneaking suspicion of who it was, but didn't want to speculate in front of the werewolf. "A word of advice, don't invite any more vampires in." Veronica eyed her brother as he spoke, and slowly nodded. "Trust me, their terrible company." Erik offered Nico a smile. "I'll be back for that coffee though." An attempt to lighten the mood on his part.
Nick had watched the scene from a safe distance, arms crossed and eyes practically glued to Eric. Of course solely because Nick was wary of the somewhat-intruder and by no means because it was a very pleasant sight to behold. ...what? To disperse his own treacherous thoughts he threw in a quiet growl, like a wolf defending their territory, just to make the act complete.
The act which he immediately dropped once the vampires offered their gratitude. "De nada," he quickly replied, biting back a 'you would've done the same for me' because he wasn't too sure about that still. Yet since they were offering - within reason- he might as well:
"Ah, there goes my plan for getting independently wealthy. It's really nothing though. Buy me a good coffee and we call it quits. Alright?"
