Artemis was naturally worried about Lyra, taking on the big brother role. He was more worried about her than himself. Even hearing Lyra's words of reassurance, he was still worried. "I just don't want you to get hurt." Artemis said.

Artemis looked over at other, giving him a bright smile. "I am, yes!" Artemis replied. "I've lived here all my life." Artemis knew the town pretty well, almost like it was the back of his hand. "Are you new here?" Artemis asked curiously.

Artemis looked at the bags curiously, he wanted to ask but he knew it wasn't his business.

Artemis looked from what he was doing and nodded, giving the other a smile. "Yeah, go ahead." he said. Artemis was taking a quick break from work, enjoying the fresh air.

"Whew, thanks." Peter sat down and set the canvas bags of supplies between his feet, leaning back into the bench and stretching until his back gave one, two, three satisfying pops. He reached down to get his book, because if he was going to wait for something, he might as well spend his time getting back to reading, but he left it on his lap, instead checking his phone with an impatient scowl.

"...'Scuse me, sir, I don't mean to disturb you again," Peter asked the other man, "but you're a local here, right?"

“ This has to be some sort of illusion, some sort of trick. There’s no way I’m really seeing this right now. “ (for Artemis)

Artemis blinked at him, confused. He'd spent so long, wandering around, existing. Well, kind of. He'd gotten used to no one being able to see him, not even his own family.

He looked at Peter then behind himself, thinking that Peter could be talking to someone else.

"You can see me?"

Artemis let out a groan, wincing in pain. He looked at Jessica with a sheepish smile on his face. "It was a good idea at the time.." he said softly.

"It's one of my favourites." Artemis smiled. He remembered going to the cinema with Persephone. "It's really good, I think you'd enjoy it." There would be other things he would show her soon but didn't want to overwhelm Lyra.

Artemis smiled, taking the plate of bacon and bread, stomach growling. "Hm, I think I'll just have ketchup." he replied, sitting at the kitchen table after grabbing the ketchup from the fridge.

"Frozen." Artemis nodded softly and smiled. "Have you watched Tangled yet?" Artemis was also glad that Lyra had found something to entertain herself, he worried about her while he was at work. "We could watch more films later, if you want."

“No, don’t think I’ve seen that one yet,” Lyra said with a small shake of her head. She didn’t think she’d heard that name, but was still curious and interested in pretty much anything Artemis or Will wanted to show her.

At the idea of more films later, she nodded her head and gave Artemis a light grin. “I’d like that.” Lyra then went over to check on the bacon, the pleasant smell of it starting to fill the room. “I think it’s done.”

She got two plates of bread ready and placed the bacon on both, passing one plate over to Artemis. “D’you want sauce?”

Artemis was locking up for the night, after a long day of candy making and serving customers. His cousin Persephone had left ten minutes earlier after discussing future products and sales. He was about to turn the alarm on when he heard something nearby. Possibly an animal? 

“Hello?” Artemis asked. “Is someone there?” He stepped out, looking around.

Artemis chuckled softly, smiling at the younger girl. "Hello to you too, Lyra." It had become a way for them to greet each other. "What did you get up to?" Artemis grinned at her.

Artemis also couldn’t hide the bright smile on his face. “As if I’d ever forget.” he said with a small smile. “You’re still our number one customer, as far as I’m concerned.” Artemis quickly re-did the bun that his hair was in, humming. “If you want, you can come and help out sometime. It’d be fun.” Artemis offered, looking at the other with blue-green eyes.

That brought a small smile on his face, looking at Lyra as they sat in the backroom. "I treasure the time spent with you. I've always wanted a little sister." Artemis grew up as an only child so it could be lonely sometimes. "You know you're always welcome here."

The smell of bacon cooking hit his nostrils as he walked through the door. He smiled softly, taking off his bag. "Lyra, I'm home!" he called, walking towards the small kitchen. "Hey, something smells good!"

Artemis was enjoying his lunch break, sitting on a bench and reading his book. He didn’t notice the tiny kitten at first, enjoying his book that his cousin had recommended to him. Once he heard the meow, he looked from his book at the tiny orange kitten. “Hi there!” he greeted with a smile. Artemis loved animals, he had cats and dogs growing up.

A tiny orange kitten had darted past and jumped onto the nearby skateboard. Max had shifted. She enjoyed the freedom that her other form gave her. And that way she could bite anyone that she didn't like as well. She looked up to the nearby person and meowed loudly.
