Tia was rollerblading around the city, enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. She jumped on rails, quickly using some of her magnetism powers to stick her skates to it so she wouldn’t slip off. Once at the end she leaped high in the air like a rabbit before coming down again and skating some more.

When she landed though, she hadn’t seen that someone was close by and almost slammed into them. She quickly grabbed a lightpole and spun herself to a stop. “Sorry about that. Hope I didn’t scare you.”

I still find it funny that people call eleven a "deadbeat husband" and their marriage "toxic" but twelve is the "perfect husband" and their marriage "wedded bliss" all because of the few moments we'd seen between 11 and River were them being "toxic". yes of course! let's ignore how the minisodes show how that description isn't true and even how little moments in the episodes themselves – "what? that's it?" (why haven't you kissed me goodbye? are you being sly on purpose so I'd kiss you first?) and "they wouldn't bury my wife out here" and the music room is the heart of the home and it's not a ghost story, it's a love story – show 11 cared and put in the work and yes, they're going to have disagreements like the ones in TATM because duh who doesn't but it does not mean it is the entirety of their relationship but people have taken it and made it the entirety of their relationship.

While I was working on my Swap gift, I had a thought.

G'raha Tia is, basically, a Disney Princess. And not just any Disney Princess... practically all of them:

He's Rapunzel, locked in his Crystal Tower, unable to leave it until we open the door.

He's Sleeping Beauty, asleep in his Tower, waiting for true love's kiss someone to wake him up.

He's Merida, from Brave, the one who's going to be a part of everything and be his own person, even when everyone else wants to keep him safe.

He's Moana and The Little Mermaid, desperate to see the world and experience new things and new adventures, but confined to his tiny home.

There's probably some other pretty big parallels between himself and other fairytale figures/Disney Princesses, but I was just amused that he fit so many molds.

In fact, the only thing he lacks is an animal companion. Someone get him a nutkin, stat!

Okay, now that we're a past the spoiler sensitive period I want to talk a little bit about about the final zone in Dawntrail and the gondola conversation with G'raha, specifically as it applies to a certain flavor of Warrior of Light who was engaged romantically with a certain Warrior of Darkness during Heavensward.

Living Memory hit a little differently for Ifan than I believe the MSQ intended simply because, as he says to G'raha, he's "already been there"; not to the physical location, but in the position of having been able to physically interact with a deceased loved one and needing to choose between that and one's duty to the world. Ardbert was effectively an Endless when first encountered back in Heavensward, and in choosing to be with him and then give him up twice (the second time being at the end of Shadowbringers) the Warrior of Light has already made difficult choice of having to sacrifice a living memory, for the sake of the living.

And I really think it's a testament to the strength of the Dawntrail MSQ that this reading still isn't incongruous with the greater themes of the expansion. The WoL is a mentor figure to Wuk Lamat and others, and being able to apply his own experiences with Ardbert to guide those in a similar situation gels nicely with that.

To rest beneath the mallorn trees and enjoy the pleasantries of Lothlorien was a comfort to Saephrond, who had found himself wandering from realm to realm in recent times. But the more leisure interests of the Elves called to him, and for months he had cultivated a meager garden of fruits and veggies for one intended purpose - that, with the coming of every few sunrises before the realm stirred, he would steal away a chonky, little chicken belonging to Elgaladwen and Gallorith - two sweet friends - to take back with him. That was, until El would wake and march towards his lodgings with her staff and threaten to trip him in Gallorith's honour.

This morning, and with gentle hands, Saeph placed the plump hen before an array of crisp greens, carrots, and beets. Her contented clucks and greedy nipping enticed both a smile from his lips and a hardy chuckle from deep within his chest, as she quickly abandoned the drab foods for a more sweeter nourishment - the handful of juicy blueberries he intended to hoard for himself.

just let me gush over the boxset title - STAR CROSSED - because what does that mean?? STAR CROSSED LOVERS?? 😭

and the first audio title is SWIPE RIGHT, which has something to do with dating apps apparently.

I. AM. SO. EXCITED.

however, not everyone is as ecstatic (me too but for different reasons) because it supposedly takes away what happens in SiTL and River supposedly shouldn't meet War, 9, and 10 pre-Library. however, i respectfully disagree. should I bring up what the TARDIS (and Missy) had said? the Doctor and River are so intricately intertwined like wool wound and wound about each other and a complicated space-time event. of course River would be going around meeting different versions of the Doctor and one moot even likened it to her collecting pokemons! which is a rather cute imagery i'll never be rid of. besides, most or nearly all of the time, their memories get wiped away. also, one of my favorite uses of imagery to use for the Doctor and River is the ouroborus, they are a never ending cycle of firsts and lasts. i could also explain how all these meetings woth pre-Library Doctors don't take away the 'special-ness' of that 'first meeting' but gotta go finish this school stuff.

what else was i going to say? ah yes, if River's appearing in this boxset, would that mean we wouldn't be seeing her comeback on TV? make no mistake. i LOVE all these audios but to SEE her again be part of the ongoing show, oh what a treat (and at this rate, a miracle) it would be.

If I had this definite favorite character in the fictional world I made, then somebody made a show adaptation of that world and bludgeoned my favorite character in an attempt of portraying him as this violent, disloyal brat, I'd have beef with that somebody forever.
