It wasn't often that your dear friend Jamie invited you over to his home. Your little group often spent time at Sunwoo's (who prefers to be called Jett) house or showed up at Ryo's uninvited. He was always too lazy to host or feared disturbing his roommate, but today he wanted for you all to play a console game he just bought.

You sat on the floor in front of Jett, who was on the couch battling against Ryo. You watched the game on the screen as you awaited your turn, as Jamie came from the kitchen with more snacks. Jett was currently losing, yelling and leaning into Ryo in hopes of throwing his game. You laughed before looking at your brown haired friend who sat on the floor next to you.

"We're not bothering your roommate are we?"

"Nah, I don't think he's home right now."

After about another hour of playing the game and eating junk food, you needed to use the bathroom. Setting your controller down you looked over to Jamie, asking for directions to the bathroom.

"It's down the hall, first door to the right."

You nodded, getting up and going on your way to find the toilet. You stopped in front of a closed door, pushing it open to reveal NOT a bathroom. You look around, taking in the room. It was well lit, the walls decorated with paintings in various sizes. In the center of the room was an easel, and a man standing in front of it who's gaze seemed to have shifted from the piece in front of him to you. He was wearing comfortable clothes protected by an apron, a paintbrush in one hand and palette in the other.

"Oh uh- Sorry. You must be Jamie's roommate, I was just looking for the bathroom."

He offers you a small smile before returning to his work.

"No worries, it's one door over."

From where you stood you couldn't really tell what he had been painting, but what you could tell was that the man himself was a piece of art. He had beautiful purple eyes and sharp features that you could almost believe he were a marble statue come to life. After taking him and the room in for a little longer you spoke up once again.

"Your art is very beautiful."

He looks up and smiles at you again before responding.

"Thanks. I'm working on pieces for my portfolio, though I don't think anything I paint could compare to your beauty."

You were left speechless as you felt the tip of your ears burn.

"O-oh. Thank you. I'll be- uh- going now..." You stuttered out, before turning and going back to your original task.

Find and use the bathroom.

After doing your business, you returned back downstairs to find that your friends switched to watching a movie.

"Geez, you took forever in there!" Jett complains.

"Did you take a shit or something?" Ryo asks, scrunching his face up at you.

The other two laugh at his statement before you give a response.

"I don't see how any of that is your business," you huffed. Instead of rejoining your companions in the living room, you make your way into the kitchen. There was a magnetic basket stuck to the side of the fridge with pens, some memo pads and sticky notes in them. You grabbed one of the sticky notes and a pen and begin to write your note. You look around for a place to set it as your eyes land on a coffee machine.

The machine must belong to your friend's mysterious and attractive roommate, as you knew your friend didn't really enjoy coffee all that much.

You stuck the note on the bottom of a mug sitting underneath the machine before setting it back in place and finally returning to the living room.

The next morning, Li made his way towards the kitchen for his daily cup of coffee. He would be headed off to class soon and needed a bit of caffeine to start the day. Jamie had already been up, also about to leave for class. After brewing his coffee and picking up his mug, ne noticed a yellow corner of a sticky note peeking out from the bottom.

Peeling the note off, confused, he brought it up to eye level to read.

"If you ever need a muse (or wanna go out :D) call me~ XXX-XXX-XXXX (Jamie's Bathroom Friend)"

A light blush dusted his face at the note. This had to have been left by his roommates attractive friend yesterday. He was so distracted buy the number written in front of him that he didn't notice Jamie peeking over his shoulder.

"That's why they took so long in the bathroom! Hah, looks like one of my best mates likes you."

The man gave his flat mate a firm pat on the back before going about his day. The light blush on Li's face darkened in embarassment at the realization Jamie had seen what was written. Drinking his coffee, he sat down and put the note in his pocket.

He would have to put the number in his phone later.

"livi!" jamie smiled moving around trevor, and hugging the redhead. "how are you!" she gushed, her pale freckled cheeks lightening up with a smile. "im good, how are you?" he questioned as they took a couple steps away from the door while trevor stood there waiting for jamie. "good good! i just opened up a shop here in newport actually and im almost done with school too." she smiled widely, and jamie congratulated her. "im so glad! i know how much you wanted to open a shop with your mom so im so happy for you, hows matt and the family?" he asked about her brother in law. "they're good! they are enjoying upstate new york too, but it isn't toronto that's for sure." she hummed and jamie nodded in understanding. trevor began to put the pieces together. matt martin & toronto but the relationship status between the two was hazy.

"oh! this is my good friend trevor, trevor this is olivia who i met in toronto a few years ago!" he said pulling olivia towards trevor and she smiled. "you're trevor zegras! i knew you looked familiar." she hummed extending her hand, which trevor took quickly. "what can i say? im a stud?" he joked and trevor rolled his eyes whilst olivia just laughed. "you think you're a comedian, huh?" she said through a playful glare. he grinned in response. "anywho! i was just on my way out, it was great seeing you and nice to meet you trev!" she said and jamie frowned, "no don't go!" he said and she sighed. "I've got school tomorrow besides this party blows." she said crossing her arms, and jamie smirked. "what?" olivia asked with a slight grin and a raised eyebrow. "what drysdale? spill it." she mused, and jamie looked at trevor before looking back at olivia. "take us with you." was all he said, and olivia rolled her eyes before turning towards the door and walking out but left the door open for them. "can we drive with you?" jamie asked catching up to the redhead, and olivia chuckled. "who said i drove?" she teased before walking over towards her driver door.

"can we get food?" was the very first thing out of trevor's mouth when she began to drive off, "like a child i swear to god." jamie laughed and that made olivia giggle. "alright child, where would you like to eat? you're choice!" she grinned, looking in the rearview at him. "im gonna regret knowing you right?" she teased before looking over at jamie who laughed. "OH yeah, most definitely." trevor said obnoxiously, and olivia could only help but giggle in response. "but were gonna be the best of friends." trevor added causing olivia to roll her eyes playfully.

Realized that some people might not be familiar with my muses, and what they can do, so here's a cheat sheet for my mutant muses specifically. I can write about the non-mutants at a later date!

alex.

Alex has the mutant power to absorb energy, though more specifically radiation and shit from the cosmos like sunlight. His body stores this energy where he can later expel it in a blue or yellow colored plasma form in blasts, waves, and other means.

I personally think that when he stores too much energy his body can become overheated. It starts with a burning sensation in his hands and it spreads, it's why he constantly has to shoot plasma every so often. Alex has a long history of not being able to control his powers, the goofy original costume with the eggbeaters on the mask and the black spandex was created so he could control his powers more easily because they are dangerous! He can essentially be a walking atom bomb if he's not careful.

dani.

Dani's powers have evolved over time, but originally they were seen as the telepathic ability to create illusions based on people's greatest fears. They have since been expanded on so that she can create illusions based on anything, and they can become physical constructs. A popular illusion she can make are psionic arrows, since she's a gifted archer.

I want to point out that Dani's powers were originally VERY tropey, she's Cheyenne and Claremont literally said let's make her a literal Dreamcatcher. it's iffy and it needed to be addressed. Another tropey ability she has is her rapport with animals, but I now associate this more with her telepathic gifts rather than it being a separate thing.

Dani can read minds, but it's not something that's easy, she tends to stick to her illusion based powers and archery in combat.

jamie.

Jamie has the power to create duplicates of himself! Originally this was an extremely hard power to control, and like Alex, he had to wear a special suit to help keep control. Since those days however, Jamie has had the smart idea of sending his duplicates out into the world and doing things, whether it be attend college, medical school, law school, become an olympian, his duplicates have done a lot of things and Jamie would eventually find them and reabsorb them, retaining their knowledge and skills they have obtained. The ethics of his powers have been discussed not only in the comics, but by fans alike. It's an interesting question if Jamie's duplicates have autonomy since so many of them have different personalities ( all parts of Jamie's overall personality ).

When Jamie needs to fight, he'll just create a bunch of dupes, he's a one man army and there's something unsettling about seeing a clone army coming at you. Luckily for him though, Jamie tends to just use his powers for passive reasons, like when he is a detective or more recently a scientist on Krakoa.

jean.

Jean is a telepath and a telekinetic. I'm not going to get into her omega level status, she's extremely powerful and that's great and all, but people who focus on that aspect of her bore me to tears so I won't subject anyone to that either. She's good at what she does, she can move things with her mind, read people's thoughts, lots of shit with her brain.

Jean is also the host of the Phoenix Force, a cosmic being whose exact nature has flipped back and forth based on the writer, but it seems that they are moving back to the original intent of the force from Chris Claremont's brain. The Phoenix is Jean's power, and it's uniquely tied to her and her bloodline alone. She's the cosmic firebird of all creation and life, it's wild, it's terrifying, and it's fun. I'll probably write more about this once Jean's new solo comic comes out.

julian.

Julian is a telekinetic. He probably has the most simple powers of my entire mutant cast ( along with Piotr ) , he can move things with his mind and fly. His powers manifest as a green light, not unlike the Green Lantern Corps of DC fame.

His powers are not overly powerful, he's not on like Jean or Rachel Grey's level, but Emma Frost did unlock his potential when Julian flew across the United States at the sound of light in order to save Laura from dying. After this event his powers began to be very finicky, but they seemed to have stabled out.

I remain on the side that he's not ultra powerful, but in moments of distress or when he needs to save someone he can tap into the part of his brain that controls his power levels and manifest a higher control. It's rare though and when he does he ends up in a light coma for a few days to heal.

piotr.

Piotr has the power to shift his skin into steel. He grows in size and becomes extremely strong in this form.

He's a perfect defensive wall, he can crash through things, throw things ( and friends ) and do probably untold damage to most things. It's probably the most interesting thing about him from his original introduction in the 70's. He's the team's bruiser and tank and yet the duality with his soft and gentle personality makes for an interesting take on the "big guy" trope.

her parents are famous ballad singers seung kyungtae and kim jangmi, big stars from the ‘90s/’00s, a this point they’re retired and mostly keep out of the public eye but they make the occassion appearance, never Really shaking their celebrity status

as the youngest daughter, eunchae is in fact their darling baby princess who has never done and could never do anything wrong in her life

needless to say she grew up filthy spoiled, her parents werent around that much and 

they made up for it by giving her Absolutely Everything they could think of

sadly enough the only thing eunchae Really wanted was attention and because that was the one thing she couldn’t get... well let’s say it had lasting results on her still developing psyche

in school eunchae was very popular, not that hard when you’re pretty and rich, but most of her friendships were very shallow and superficial and it involved a whole lot more backstabbing and gossiping than genuine friendships should which Also didn’t really teach her much more about how to maintain healthy interpersonal connections

the cummulative experiences through her formative years left her her with some crippling people pleasing issues, eunchae has a pathological need to be liked, by everyone, and she’s willing to bend herself into whatever shape it takes to achieve that

that’s also how she ended up wanting to enter the entertainment industry, a family friend told her that she was pretty enough to be a celebrity and her teenage brain quickly reasoned that celebrities were Very Widely Beloved, her parents being a shining example even post their career

so it was decided, all she had to do was become famous and then people would like her

(of course, this is in fact Not how it works, but that’s a problem for Later)

anyway, eunchae wanted to be famous and she had set her mind to it so the only logical course of action was to throw a fit until her parents used their industry connections and gave her her way

and that’s how she ended up signed with everlast entertainment more or less

eunchae started out as a welcome face on variety shows, at first mainly on the merit of being ‘the daughter of’ 

a year and a half into her career she made her acting debut and from that point onward she slowly established a bit more of an image of her own, who her parents are still gets mentioned here and there during promotional work and such of course, it remains a topic people love to hear about, but the Nepotism is a little less blatant and on the nose at this point, proving that she has Some talent of her own as a break-out actress

as of recent also slowly starting to dip her toes in some brand deal modelling stuff, just because Pretty Face Sells Things

her image very much rides on the whole sweetheart with a personality as pretty and angelic as her face thing, sweet, a little ditzy, innocent and all that

for those that alrdy don’t like eunchae to begin with it can feel a little over the top and annoying

eunchae’s actual personality is... hard to pin down

sure she’s a spoiled brat to the core and it shows, she can be super bratty, knows how to get her way by using those pretty doe eyes and a little pout, can be incredibly out of touch because of her upbringing and generally is just, very uncritical towards the privilege she grew up in which might just make her come across as very tone-deaf when it comes to these topics

but she is very genuinely really sweet, a little too sweet maybe, she’s very anxious and almost obsessive about attention and being liked, she will do almost anything to impress the people she really wants to be liked by, even if the results ends up being harmful to her. she’s just very desperate for approval and a little gullible on top of that, making her a very easy target for anyone looking to toy with her. also just, very conflict avoidant, will not speak up about things that are bothering her, god forbid people will grow tired of her if she does

gets very hero worship-y with the people she befriends/likes/looks up to in general

tldr i’m sorry if she’s an insufferable brat at times but pls be nice to her, she really just wants people to like her, she might simply d-word otherwise (very tinkerbell core of her)

thinking about Jack and how to get him to interact with a certain muse/muses I keep seeing on my dash and came up with a HC on accident. he understands art and thinks that art is super important. he also sees himself as a bit of an artist given his frost patterns and his own doodles he can make out of frost ( RE; frost sandy after the funeral on the window, the bunny and egg on Jamie's window to get him to keep believing in the guardians [ i'll explain why he chose to do Bunnymund's symbols specifically in a different post ] ) but he does not actually respect art. not in the same way that a real artist might respect it. he's seen art fade and be redone and he's seen art get destroyed and recreated in different ways throughout the years. he's seen statues crumble and get left behind to decay and paintings and other drawings burned for reasons he didn't actually understand ( and still doesn't fully ) as well as art just left behind and forgotten over time. he knows art is important and a way of showing creativity and having fun, but he doesn't fully understand that you actually have to be careful with it too.

all this to say, Jack Frost will absolutely hang off of important statues and poke at important paintings or play with dioramas and smaller sculptures because art is meant to be enjoyed and played with. a good example is him playing with the nesting doll that North handed too him or how he messes with the eggs while decorating them at the Warren. he likes art, but he does not exactly respect it.

Despite being very sociable, he does enjoy being alone, and sometimes gets drained after spending time with others. He likes fishing, drawing, and exploring wooded areas and abandoned places.

He had head trauma some years ago that affected his sense of smell, causing it to be worse than the average (human)person’s.

Holier-than-thou while also somehow managing to be incredibly self-loathing, Aurore enjoys herself by looking down upon everyone, both literally and figuratively. There isn’t a single person she wouldn’t want to either keep as a pretty bird in a cage or squash like a pathetic little bug.

Don’t try to get under her skin, she will make sure you live to regret it.

Disclaimer: Aurore is fairly “powerful”, but for the reasons above, she does not meddle in “mortal affairs” and doesn’t want to waste her time or energy on such things as she believes it to be beneath her. Skin: rosy, moles, covered in sunspots, many scars, wrinkles, a few small flowers on his forearm and on his opposite shoulder, a crescent moon tattooed on the side of his wrist, three of swords on his chest. All tattoos are black and slightly faded.

Hair: Dark brown with gray streaks, wavy at the ends, past his shoulders. Facial hair: Mustache and some beard stubble.

Eye: Brown, downturned, dark circles. Has tapetum lucidum- the thing most animals(in his case, canines) have where their eyes “glow” and reflect light.

Usual clothes: Pants, plain shirt under a green flannel shirt, brown boots, a small gold necklace with a little gold charm, a watch, a few small gold rings on his fingers. Typically wears a brown jacket with soft lining when outside.

Hair: Black with some gray speckled throughout. Typically wears his hair in boxbraids that reach his shoulders, which he tends to have tied up. Facial hair: Stubble.

Eyes: Dark brown, almond. Has tapeum lucidum.

Usual clothes: jeans, shirt, denim jacket, work boots. A ring or two on his right hand, and a watch.

Misc: pierced ears, nose piercing- hoop, jewelry is silver. Canines are slightly sharper than normal, but not too noticeable unless you’re really looking. Not only am I ordering Jamie Stewart's memoir when I get paid again, but I am going to look into some spiritual supplies. I haven't forgot I want prayer beads for Ganesha as well as a saint Rita necklace. I think whatever new rosary I find will feature Santa Muerte, btw. I probably won't wear it much; I'll use it to pray regularly.

I'm not sure what my routine around mantra chanting and prayer is going to look like. Depending on how I feel, I would like to do one in the morning and the other at night, but my schedule is not like clockwork. Maybe just everything at 6:00am every day, then. My body is unreliable but I'm usually awake before the sun rises, at least.

When I first started listening to my favorite Ganesha mantra on YouTube like 8 or 9 months ago, I would grow sleepy afterwards. I'm not sure if it will give or take energy to say it out loud with the beads instead of merely listen.

On top of this, I'm interested in Buddhist magick too. Even though it seems incompatible with the Hindu energies of Ganesha.

I can't be a member of any single faith though. It's too limiting for me.

I found a candle associated with King Paimon I want to order next time or the time after that. I know demons aren't to be trifled with, obviously. I probably offended him when I originally asked him for help when I was 19 years old.

Now I want to figure out where to go from there. I feel like a prayer candle and some incense might be a good way to start a civil dialogue. I'm going to look on some poison path vendor sites to see if they've got anything specific for him. Otherwise, I will google "What incense does King Paimon like?" and see if any types I find useable in my apartment pop up.

I'm afraid anything too fancy that isn't just a simple stick or cone will set off my smoke detector. Maybe when Nate talks to me again, he will give me advice how to go about burning nicer incense without causing a scene. I wish I could ask Florian about this. Oh well.

I plan to ask King Paimon for help with not only my writing like I originally did, but also my visual art skills. I feel like he's trying to get me to focus mostly on words since I requested he make me a great writer.

I am not sure what exactly I want in regards to my writing. I was going to ask for "more direction," but I already have a bit of that. I have an idea of how my writing can be of use to other creatives. I have a general goal which to apply myself.

What is it I'm seeking, then? More drive/energy/focus? More inspiration? More favorable conditions to at least get more reading done? (Basically, less pain when sitting up.)

A muse is only as good as its questions. I can't simply say "make me more creative and productive." I need to elaborate or there's no point. It's hard but I need to think on this more.

Anyways, I found a little candle shaped like Ganesha I want to order. I don't know what the purpose will be. I'm still planning it.

I have a little Ganesha statue that still needs a mat to sit on btw. He's currently placed on the bare shelf which probably offends him. I better cut up an old shirt or something soon. Just to sit as a placeholder until I find something nicer.
