Even Now? | Bellamy Blake x Male Reader
Tumblr media
Fandom: The 100
Pairing: Bellamy Blake x Male Reader
Summary: Bellamy and (M/N) had been dating on the ark. After (M/N) had been sent to the skybox the two lost contact. Now on the ground the two find each other again.
A/N: I am a hoe for Bellamy Blake and will die for him.
(M/N) stepped out of the dropship. He was blinded by the sunlight but let out a laugh as he realized he was on Earth. He was on Earth and he was alive. He looked around and watched as the other delinquents ran around shouting and laughing, pushing each other and having a good time. For the first time in a long time they all got to be kids again.
Walking around their new campsite, (M/N) took in the woods around him. He had always imagined what earth would look like on the ground but never realized it could be so beautiful. Speaking of beautiful, he caught sight of someone he hadn’t seen since he had been put in the skybox. There dressed in his guard uniform was Bellamy Blake, his ex boyfriend.
Bellamy was standing with a group of people talking. He recognized a few as Clarke Griffin, Wells Jaha, and a few others he had known. Among them was also Octavia Blake, Bellamy’s sister who he hadn’t known about until after he had been put into the box. Not wanting to deal with Bellamy he turned and walked the opposite direction of the group.
Sitting down on a fallen log he finally took in the sight on his wrist. There he now has a strange wristband, it wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t literally annoying him. “Ugh. This thing sucks. Why did they put it on us anyways?” He tried to peel it off but it wouldn’t budge, only giving him a bit of a sting. “Hurts like a bitch doesn’t it?” (M/N) turned around and smirked at Murphy. One of the only people he was actually friends with during his time locked up. “Not as bad as choking on a lack of oxygen. Can you get this thing off of me without injuring me?” He held his arm out to Murphy who pulled out a makeshift knife.
Before Murphy could begin to do anything with the band, he found himself being pulled away. “How about you take your knife and keep it away from him?” (M/N) looked at the new person to see Bellamy glaring at Murphy holding his arm. “Hey! Just trying to help my friend out.” Bellamy didn’t loosen his grip, instead making it a big rougher. (M/N) saw how Murphy was starting to feel some pain. “Bellamy! Let him go!” In an instant Bellamy let Murphy go but continued to glare at Murphy. “Go.” He said. Murphy didn’t waste any time and left back to his group of friends. Bellamy turned back to (M/N) who was walking off. “(M/N)! Wait! Please!”
(M/N) ignored him as he continued to walk off. Entering the dropship he found some of the supplies that had been sent down with them, aka a tent. Grabbing the tent he returned to outside the dropship and started setting up his tent. This gained the attention of some of the other delinquents. “Hey! He’s got a tent!” He didn’t stop setting up his tent as they came closer. “Yeah! I do! This is my tent and maybe, just maybe, if you’re nice I’ll share it with you.” That seemed to piss some of them off. “Or we can just kill you and take it for ourselves.” The delinquents moved closer but were stopped by Bellamy. “I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” That stopped them from moving any closer to (M/N). “Anyone that touches him deals with me!” Bellamy shouted through the camp. That seemed to deter anyone from messing with (M/N). “Can I talk with you?” Bellamy asked and (M/N) motioned to his tent.
The two boys stepped inside. “What did you want to talk about Bellamy?” (M/N) asked, crossing his arms. The tent was nice and large, definitely meant for more than one person. “I was just wanting...I don’t know to just talk to you. I just wanted you to know, I never stopped loving you (M/N).” (M/N) let out a laugh. “That’s rich. If you still loved me then you would have come and visited me while I was locked up. But you didn’t! Why? And don’t say to protect your sister cause that’s no excuse for this.” Bellamy struggled to find the words. “I just...I didn’t want to see you locked up. It broke my heart watching you being lead away and I was afraid of what would happen when you turned 18. I know you probably wouldn’t have been floated but it still scared me.” (M/N) shook. “Well how do you think I felt!? I was locked up with the threat of execution trailing me! I wanted you but you weren’t there for me! You know what...just go!” He pushed Bellamy out of the tent.
As time passed on the ground, Bellamy continued to try and reconnect with (M/N) who was sticking to ignoring him. But then the grounder threat happened and Bellamy practically became the leader of the camp, with Clarke acting as a second leader. For some reason, (M/N) didn’t like the fact that Bellamy and Clarke were spending so much time together. A group was going out to go and hunt for the camp, Bellamy among them and (M/N) decided to go with them. “(M/N) what are you doing here?” Bellamy asked as he joined the group. “Going hunting. What am I supposed to leave it to you imbeciles to catch our food?” Some of the group members grimaced or sneered but Bellamy only smirked at him. “Now let’s go. I’m starving.”
The hunting had been going alright and then of course a cloud of acid fog came their way. Bellamy and (M/N) had gotten separated from the rest of their group and hid in a cave. Luckily the fog wasn’t following them inside. “Well....there goes dinner.” Bellamy laughs and shakes his head. “We almost died and you’re still thinking of food?” (M/N) shrugged. “What? I like food!” Bellamy shakes his head again but reaches into his backpack and throws (M/N) a nutrient bar that he had. “Thanks. Wait...where’d you get this?” (M/N) asked. “It was part of the supply drop with us. They gave us practically nothing but I figured I’d save that.” (M/N) hummed.
It had been a little longer and the fog was still going. “So...you and Clarke seem...nice.” (M/N) said, making Bellamy look at him with a face. “What? Me and the princess? What do you mean?” (M/N) snorted at the name. “I mean, you two seem close. I’m sure you two will be very happy together.” Bellamy’s mouth turned into a large grin. “Oh my god. You’re jealous!” (M/N) blushed and looked away. “I don’t know what you mean. I have nothing to be jealous about.” Bellamy got up and moved to sit beside (M/N). “Just to let you know. There’s nothing going on between me and Clarke. There’s only one person in this camp that has my heart?” (M/N) decided to mess with him. “Your sister?” Bellamy nodded. “Alright two people in the camp.” (M/N) smirked and turned to look Bellamy in the eyes. “Even now? You still love me after everything that’s happened? Why?” Bellamy scooched closer and held his hand. “Because you’re amazing. You’re so smart and talented. You also don’t let anyone fuck with you, which sometimes gets you into more problems than it’s worth. But overall it’s because you’re you, and I love you (M/N).” Bellamy leaned in closer and (M/N) decided to close the gap, pressing their lips together. “I love you too Bellamy.”
The two reunited boyfriends stayed in the cave until the fog cleared. Once cleared they regrouped with the others and returned to the camp. “So...you going to move into my tent or what?” (M/N) asked. “I thought that was without question?” Bellamy grinned pulling him into another kiss in front of everyone else in the camp, making sure everyone knew not to mess with his boyfriend.
“So, ready to be my co-king of earth?”

Note: I thought long and hard about whether or not I was going to do this writeup, or even continue watching the show. Bellamy is one of my favorite characters, and Bellarke one of my favorite dynamics of the show. There is so much about this turn that is upsetting and doesn’t make sense. But in the end I have decided to persevere with the show because I’ve been so invested for six years, and there are other characters I love dearly. And despite Jason’s goodbye tweet to Bob, I’ll hope for Bellamy’s return until the last minute of the finale. So. It’s Thursday, and time for somewhat subdued thoughts no one asked for but I’ve decided to share anyway.
Love how Clarke figured out it wasn’t Russell while Gabriel stared with his mouth open
Bill telling Russ!Heda that he has no patience for this tribal bullshit is the only moment I’ve liked since he appeared
Murphy roasting Bellamy within seconds
Aw, this Sanctumite’s utter faith in Murphy is too good
Murphy going to Raven and Clarke like, “Mom, what is happening?”
When Call-Me-Bill is snippy to Clarke and she looks at Bellamy like, “this is your fault” oof, I felt that
Raven and Murphy sassing each other is all I’ve wanted literally all season
JOSIE!!! I had no idea that I missed her sarcasm and hair twirling. Plus I sort of love Jobriel.
Murphy and Raven have such an incredible dynamic. I will miss their interactions so much.
Ew, don’t call Bellamy “son” Bill. I hate you. I can’t believe he’s trying to replace Anders with BELLAMY
A whole speech about love and the toxicity of it to poor fucked up Bellamy who just wants to keep his friends and family safe. Ugh.
Emori is such a fucking BAMF. And GO mini-Jasper! Solid choice with the wrench
Murphy never loses his sarcasm. “Or maybe you’d like to drown me again.” He is so done with sheep Bellamy.
I wish we’d gotten more Jackson/Gabriel interactions
Gabriel is really going to make this antitoxin while fucked up and seeing Josephine, who is trying to talk him into taking the flame and saying screw everyone else. What a mess he is.
“another lesson in the destructiveness of familial love” SHE LITERALLY CAME TO SAVE YOU JESUS
Emori literally putting her body in front of her people is amazing. So much growth.
I might have cried over the Emori/Raven reunion. That tight hug was just so relieved and happy to see each other and loving.
Shipping Indra and Russ!Heda. Inheda. Russdra? :P
Aw, Emori hugging Bellamy and then roasting him immediately. That’s a true friend right there.
Lindsey Morgan is such a great actress. I cried while she confessed her sins to Nikki. AND I cried MORE when Clarke, Murphy, and Emori RAN to be with her. Murphy and Clarke holding hands on her knee and the three of them just comforting her and being a family...oh, I needed that.
I would watch so many episodes of Indra and Russ!Heda smarting off to each other.
Indra doesn’t need a silly little thing like vision to kill her enemies.
Josie looking hot on the crown of bones.
I’m sorry, WHY do we keep leaving Russ!Heda alive?
Yooooooooo Gabriel coming in CLUTCH.
Clarke didn’t waste a minute killing Doucette, did she? Bless her heart. (Sorry, Steve.)
Murphy, Raven, and Clarke rejecting Bellamy hurts. Clarke’s admission that she’s lost him is a heartbreaker.
“So much for together.” MY HEART
I have to tell y’all, I screamed about Clarke killing Bellamy so much last night that I almost don’t have anything to say about it today. To me it seems so OOC for Clarke that I can barely comprehend it. And when I contrast it to other deaths, Abby’s comes to mind here--hers was so much better. Abby really got the chance to redeem herself and tell Clarke, Raven, and Jackson how much she cared for and respected them. She died trying to protect Madi. For Bellamy to die thinking all his friends hated him and at the hand of the woman he loves and fought for, because he was willing to put a child in danger (again, where’s the fucking character growth? he was supposed to have learned from that?) it’s just too much. It hurts.
In short: I can’t even do an in short this week. Bellamy’s dead, and I hate it.

Bellarke 5x09 divergent taking place right after Bellamy and Clarke agree to go to the valley together.
Literally the only reason Bellamy’s plan (to have Indra lead Wonkru) didn’t work was that Miller was out of character, and it drove me crazy, so this fic happened. I wrote this back during s5 at some point and never posted it.
Title from “Give Me Love” by Ed Sheeran. 3.8k words.
lately i’ve been craving more (and it’s been a while, but i still feel the same)
Bellamy holds his breath as Indra addresses Wonkru. Everything—literally everything—is banking on this working out. On them listening to Indra and following her. “For six years, we have lost hundreds of our people,” she’s saying now. “We can’t afford to lose any more. I will negotiate for Wonkru to enter the valley peacefully so that no more shall suffer.”
To Bellamy’s relief, warriors and novitiates alike nod their heads in agreement. Miller steps forward. “We leave first thing in the morning. Pack your things, just take what you can carry.”
More nods of agreement as he turns to Bellamy, a closed-lip half smile on his face. Bellamy manages one back. Memories flit through his mind. Of when Clarke had said the same thing back during the dropship days. He knows Miller’s thinking of it too. With Octavia out of power, it’s as though Miller can think clearly again. Can see that going to war is not what’s best for his people. Bellamy’s relieved to have his friend back.
After Indra dismisses everyone, the crowd disperses. Bellamy finds his way to Madi. She looks at him, hopeful. “Does this mean Clarke will be released?”
Bellamy sighs and pulls her aside. “By law of Wonkru, no.” Madi’s face falls. “But I’m getting her out of there, okay?”
Her eyes light up again. “What’s the plan?”
“I have some things to take care of first. Indra and I need to discuss the terms of peace with Diyoza. Once that’s done, I’ll go get Clarke and meet you by the rover. By the time anyone realizes, we’ll be long gone.”
“And what do I need to do?”
Amusement flits across Bellamy’s face. She’s so much like Clarke in this moment that he feels warmth spreading through his chest, an inevitable fondness for the child burying itself there. “You?”
Madi nods, serious.
Bellamy considers his words. “You can make sure Monty and Harper know the plan.”
“Okay,” she says. “I can do that.”
“Yeah?”
“Of course. I’m Clarke’s daughter.”
Bellamy breathes out a laugh at that. “Yeah,” he says. “You really are.” Madi smiles. “Alright, kid. I’ll see you soon, okay? Stay safe.”
To his surprise, she steps forward and hugs him. Bellamy stills a moment but relaxes almost instantly and hugs her back. “You too,” Madi says. “And thank you.”
“What for?”
Madi pulls back. “For keeping your promise.” At Bellamy’s furrowed brow, she explains. “You said you wouldn’t let anything happen to her.”
Bellamy lips part and then he swallows. I won’t let anything happen to Clarke. I promise. He opens his mouth, closes it. Here we go again, pleading for the life of a traitor. Who you love. His heart thumps against his ribs. She was willing to destroy the last survivable land on Earth just to win a war. Not to mention kill the people we love.
“Yeah,” he says, weak. “Of course.” He thinks of Clarke’s words to him. How she survived these last six years all by herself. I wasn’t alone. I had Madi. “I should be thanking you for that too, you know? Taking care of her when I couldn’t. She survived because of you.”
A puzzled look crosses Madi’s face. “And you. She had you, too.”
Bellamy blinks. “Me,” he repeats.
“Yeah,” she says, like it's obvious. Like he should know something. “She—”
“Bellamy.”
He turns at the sound of Indra’s voice.
“We should do this sooner rather than later.”
“Of course.” Bellamy looks to Madi, brow furrowed. “We’ll talk later,” he says to her.
Madi nods.
Reluctantly, Bellamy walks away and falls into step with Indra, his mind still reeling.
She had you, too.
Clarke stands, with her hands shackled and eyes on the door. She startles at the sound of a light thud, followed by a few muffled grunts. A moment later, and the door is opening, revealing Bellamy and an unconscious guard in his arms that he carefully drags inside and sets on the ground.
“He’s alive,” Bellamy says softly as he approaches her and removes the shackles from around her wrists. “Madi, Monty and Harper are waiting for us in the rover.” Clarke rubs at the tender skin, wincing a little. Before Bellamy can stop himself from doing something stupid, he’s taking her hands in his and looking them over, squinting in the dark. “I should’ve said it was me,” he sighs.
Clarke shakes her head. “It’s okay.”
He lifts his gaze to meet her eyes. “Let’s get out of here.”
Clarke nods, and once he’s shackled up the guard in her place, the two are sneaking out into the dark.
It’s well into the morning when Bellamy feels the guilt set in. For leaving his sister like this.
But then he glances in the rearview mirror and sees Monty and Harper fast asleep, with Madi snuggled into their laps. He glances at Clarke, who had finally dozed off about an hour ago—after stubbornly insisting that she would stay awake with him—and he knows he made the right choice.
These people are his priority now. Not Octavia. And as much as Bellamy hates it, she brought this on herself, leaving him no choice but to do what he’s done.
Heaving out a sigh, he shifts his hand on the steering wheel. He had really missed the rover.
His gaze drifts back over to Clarke at the thought. It must have been so hard for her. Having all these things to remind her of the people that had once been here to use them but no longer were. The rover, the rifles. He still remembers the time he taught her to shoot with one of those.
He wonders if she remembers it too. If she missed him as much as he had her. Something about what Madi had said makes him think that maybe she did.
He glances over at Clarke again. A familiar fondness for her washes over him—a fondness that never went away but was buried beneath all the pain and anguish from leaving her to die. The blonde of her hair is glinting with the rising sun now. The crease in her brow is gone. She just looks so beautiful like this. She’s always been so fucking beautiful.
Just then, she stirs, and he shakes the thought away, averting his gaze. “I’m awake,” she says, a little groggy as she rubs at her eyes.
“It’s okay, princess. You needed the sleep.”
He doesn’t realize he’s said it until Clarke repeats it back to him. “Princess,” she says.
Bellamy stills, heartbeat picking up a bit. He glances at her. The old nickname had just left his lips so easily. He opens his mouth, closes it, not knowing what to say. Not with Clarke looking at him so softly.
“Bellamy,” Echo’s voice cuts in, on radio. “We have a problem.”
Bellamy takes hold of the radio. “Echo,” he breathes, and just like that, Clarke feels the warmth in her chest disappear. Replaced with something cold. Something that aches. “Why? What’s wrong?”
“You can’t come to the valley. Things have changed.”
Bellamy looks at Clarke, sees the fear in her eyes that reflect back in his own. “What do you mean?”
“We didn’t know you were negotiating with Diyoza for peace, and by the time we found out, it was too late.”
“What the hell did you do?”
“We had Murphy start a riot. Mccreary’s in charge now.” Bellamy swears. “The Eye is still down, but they’ll be ready for you. Please tell me you’re still at Polis.”
Bellamy heaves out a sigh. “Clarke and I left last night. With Madi, Monty and Harper. We should be there in a few hours. Wonkru in six days.”
“You have to turn back, Bellamy.”
“It’s too late for that.”
“Why?”
He hesitates, glances at Clarke a moment. His eyes are still on hers when he says it. “I did something. Before taking Octavia out of power.”
Clarke shakes her head at him. What are you doing?
“What did you do?”
“I killed Cooper. One of Octavia’s higher ups. She found out and had me arrested. We had no choice but to break me out and leave in the middle of the night.”
“Bellamy,” Clarke tries to cut in.
He ignores her and averts his eyes. “We need to find a place in the valley to hide out. Wonkru is coming for us.”
It’s a long while before Echo speaks again. “Okay. We’ll figure something out. I’m with the others hiding out in a cave in the West Woods. Near the wasteland. Mccreary’s men are looking for us.”
“Who’s with you?”
“Murphy, Emori, Raven. Some of the defectors. Kane and Diyoza. Her pilot.”
“Clarke’s mom?”
“She’s not with us. Mccreary has her.” Clarke’s heart sinks. “But tell Clarke not to worry. They need Abby to cure them. She’s safe.”
Bellamy nods even though she can’t see him. “Okay. Good. I’ll see you in a few hours then. Let me know if you have to move out before then.”
“Copy that.”
“Stay safe.”
“You too.”
As soon as Bellamy sets the radio down, Clarke shakes her head at him again. “Why did you lie?”
“The same reason you wouldn’t let me tell Octavia I was in on it.”
“Bellamy.” Clarke huffs out an incredulous breath. “I don’t need you to protect me from this. I’m the one that dragged you into it. Everything that’s happening right now is because of me.”
“My sister’s twisted desire to go to war isn’t your fault, Clarke. None of this is.”
“Don’t do that.”
“What?”
“You’re not letting me take any of the blame.”
Bellamy shrugs, eyes set out in front of him. “Learned from the best.”
Clarke’s lips twitch with a smile despite herself. He’s referring to when she’d tried to do the same after Mount Weather. Ironically, it just proves him wrong. She didn’t take all the blame with her then, and he can’t do the same now. That’s not how it works, and he knows that.
“I’m serious, Bellamy.”
“You always are.” He glances at her, and she gives him an impatient look. “Okay, I’ll stop. Say what you want to say already.”
“You said we were in this together,” Clarke says. Bellamy’s amusement fades. He swallows. “If you really meant that, then you have to let me take some of the blame, okay?”
He sighs and nods. “Okay.”
“Okay,” Clarke says again, quieter this time.
Bellamy’s eyes soften for her. Neither of them seem to realize that they’re still looking at each other until Madi stirs awake in the back.
“Are we there yet?” she asks, quietly so as not to wake Monty and Harper. Bellamy turns his attention back to the desert before him.
“No,” Clarke says. “But we will be soon.”
“I should radio Indra,” Bellamy says to Clarke. “Let her know what to expect when they get to the valley.”
Clarke nods, but she sighs. “They’ll have to fight now.”
Bellamy looks at her, a muscle working in his jaw. “I know.” He shakes his head and huffs out a breath. “Always seems to come to that, doesn’t it?”
Before Clarke thinks better of it, she’s placing a hand over his free hand, where it rests loosely over the gearshift. She doesn’t say anything. She doesn’t have to do. He meets her eyes, and she manages a weak, closed-lip half smile at him. He manages one back. Because at least they’re together.
Echo radios in before they make it to the valley, letting them know they had to leave the cave behind and they’ll meet up sometime the following day—once Mccreary has lost their trail and it’s safe.
Bellamy pulls the rover into a cave for the night. Clarke and Madi make a fire. Monty and Harper fix up the blankets in the rover, making room for four of them (one will keep watch at the cave entrance while the others sleep).
They all spend a few hours sitting around the fire. Clarke talks mostly to Monty and Harper (She hasn’t had a chance to really catch up with them yet), Madi to Bellamy who Madi notices pointedly avoids what they had been talking about back in Polis. He doesn’t want to get into that while Clarke is right there beside him.
Besides, it’s probably better if he just asks her himself. He does, later that night, once Madi, Monty and Harper have gone to bed. “Madi said something yesterday,” he says.
“What,” Clarke says, lips twitching with a smile. “Something about how she thought you’d be taller?”
Bellamy breathes out a laugh and shakes his head. “No. Something else. But we were interrupted before she could explain.”
“Explain what?”
“I’m not sure exactly.” Bellamy brings a hand to the back of his neck. “I thanked her for taking care of you these last six years.” Clarke’s heart swells. “And she seemed confused. She said…” He trails off and swallows. “She said you also had me.” Clarke feels her eyes water. “But I don’t…” Bellamy fumbles with his words. “I wasn’t here. I was on the Ring.” Clarke has to look away when a tear slips down her cheek. “Hey,” Bellamy reaches out instinctively to wipe it away, as though he’s done so thousands of times. “Clarke, hey. What’s wrong?”
Clarke shuts her eyes. “I lied,” she says weakly.
“You lied,” he repeats, brow furrowed. “About what?”
Clarke opens her eyes back into his. “When you asked me how I survived, I said I had Madi, but even before I found her,” she shakes her head, “it was you that kept me going.” Bellamy’s lips part. “I radioed you,” Clarke admits at last, and Bellamy feels like he can’t breathe. “Every day you were gone.”
“You as in…?”
“Just you.”
Bellamy’s heart thumps against his ribs. “But the comms. None of your calls came through.”
Clarke breathes out a watery breath of air. “It didn’t matter.” Another tear slips down her cheek. “I just wanted to talk to you.”
Bellamy’s lips part again, head tilting to the side. “Clarke.”
“You don’t have to say anything. I know it’s—”
She breaks away when he takes her face in his hands and brings her forehead to rest against his. For a moment, she thinks he’s going to kiss her. For a moment, so does he. But something stops him. And they both know what that something is. Or rather, who. But he lingers a moment, forehead pressed to hers and eyes closed.
When he pulls away, it’s sudden, and Clarke instantly misses his warmth on her cheeks, the way it had felt to have him so close. He’s looking at her now, like he just made a mistake, and she just can’t take it. She rises to her feet and slings her rifle on over her head. Bellamy shuts his eyes.
“I’ll take first watch.”
“Clarke,” he tries, but she ignores him, walking off to the entrance of the cave.
Bellamy scrubs a hand over his face.
For the next few days, they lay low. As do the others. It’s just not safe while Mccreary’s men are out there. So, they plan on waiting until Wonkru’s arrival and the start of the battle. When the war is (hopefully) won, they’ll find each other.
The problem is that waiting is torture. They’re camping out in such close quarters, and Clarke is still insistent on ignoring Bellamy. He lets her have space until the last day. Because that’s when he just can’t take the silence anymore.
“Clarke,” he says once they’re relatively alone. “Can we talk?”
“Not now, Bellamy.”
“Then when?”
Clarke doesn’t say anything, just looks at him and shrugs weakly.
“I’m sorry, okay? And I miss you. A lot. So please. Please, just talk to me.” He takes a step towards her.
She takes one back. “No.”
“Clarke—”
“What do you want me to say, Bellamy?”
He swallows at the tears gathering in her eyes. There’s just so much pain. So much pain and heartbreak that he caused. He can hardly stand it. All he wants to do is comfort her, but he can’t, and that thought alone is enough to break him.
“That I was an idiot six years ago?” she goes on, and Bellamy’s lips part. He shakes his head.
Maybe part of him knew that she felt something for him too back then, that she regretted not doing anything about it as he had for years, but hearing her actually say it, all these years later, is something else entirely.
“That it took me losing you to realize that I wanted you?”
He tries to get out her name. Tell her to stop. Because it’s just too much. But the word is stuck in his throat. He can hardly breathe.
“That I’m completely,” Clarke’s voice cracks, “irrevocably, stupidly in love with you, and it’s too late?” Her cheeks are wet, and she’s smiling, but there’s anything but amusement on her face. “Is that what you want me to say?”
“I…”
She breathes out a bitter, watery laugh. “Exactly.”
“Clarke.”
She meets his gaze, and the look on his face has her eyes widening as she shakes her head. “Don’t.”
“Clarke—”
“Please don’t say it.” She holds his watery gaze a moment before finally turning away from him, stubbornly wiping her tears as she goes.
A lone tear slips down his cheek. I love you.
By the time war comes, they had spent so much time waiting that it actually manages to catch them off guard. Monty and Harper stay with Madi in the safety of the cave, but Clarke and Bellamy head out into battle. Side by side. And despite herself, Clarke knows there’s still no other place she’d rather be.
In the midst of the chaos, Bellamy is separated from Clarke. He looks around for her frantically when the war has come to an end, fresh cuts and scrapes maring his face and jacket torn at the collar and sleeves.
He finds some of the others first. Raven. Monty. Harper. Madi. Diyoza. Emori. Murphy. Miller. And so many others. So many faces. Some familiar, some not, but not the one face he’s so desperate to see.
“Where is she?”
That’s when he sees her. His face breaks out into a relieved smile, but just before he can run to her, another body is colliding into his.
It takes him a moment, but he registers that it’s Echo and hugs her back. Though, it’s half hearted. His eyes linger on Clarke’s, his lips pressed together as he swallows.
“That wasn’t who he was asking for,” Diyoza says to someone, off to the side.
Weeks pass.
Octavia has woken and is in recovery in the infirmary, along with many of the wounded from battle. Clarke has been pardoned, thanks to Miller, Indra and Gaia. Those who are able have started to build cabins for a new settlement. Clarke’s village is suitable to live in, of course, but not for all of the Wonkru and Eligius that survived. If they’re going to build a life here—a long lasting one—they’re gonna have to expand, and they’ve been doing that.
Clarke was hesitant at first. But once Bellamy suggested the settlement be built a little ways away from the village, she was happy.
She just needs a place to call home. He gets it.
There’s also the simple truth that this village was meant for her friends to live in. Forgive her for being a little self-serving, but it’s been six years of isolation for her, and this was her only wish.
To build a life with her friends.
Well, not her only wish, per say, but she’d rather not think about the other one. Because that wish is a living and breathing person. With brown eyes, freckles and a beating heart she loves with every part of her.
She’s not sure any of these feelings will ever fade. That she’ll ever stop wanting him. But she has to. Because he’s not hers to want.
It’s okay though, she tells herself. It’s okay because he can still be her person. Her best friend. And it’s about time they get back to that.
It’s late one night when Bellamy stops by her cabin. She’s seated at a table, sketching out plans for the new settlement. She stands to show him, sketch in hand. “Hey, so I was thinking we could rig up a communal shower. I’ll have to run it by Raven, but—”
“I broke up with Echo.”
The sketch slips through her fingers, instantly forgotten. “You—you what?”
“Weeks ago actually,” he says, running a hand through his hair.
“Why?”
Bellamy doesn’t say anything to that. He doesn’t have to. The look in his eyes says it all. How they soften for her. His lips twitch with a smile. “What does your heart say?” he tries.
Clarke breathes out a watery but happy laugh at the callback, ducking her head. When she meets his gaze again, her eyes shine with so much adoration he can hardly hold himself back any longer.
“Same as yours,” she says, soft.
And that’s all it takes before he’s striding towards her, taking her face firmly in his hands and finally, finally kissing her.
It has a desperate noise escaping Clarke’s throat, but she can’t find it in herself to care. Not when he kisses her back just as desperately.
Clarke breaks the kiss to laugh, a little breathless. “I love you,” she says.
Bellamy nudges her nose with his own. “I love you,” he murmurs back, right before kissing her again, warm and perfect.
Clarke tangles her fingers into his hair, and it’s just as soft as she always imagined. She slides a hand up the back of his head, tugging on a handful of his curls, and he actually growls. He crowds her up against the wall, forehead pressed to hers and mouth mere breathes away from her own.
“Shit,” he says, stilling as if realizing something. The absence of a certain twelve year old. “Where’s—“
“Sleeping over at Raven’s.”
“Thank god,” he breathes. She grins and brings his face down to hers, kissing him.
...
Sometime later, they’re in bed. She’s got a hand buried in his hair and he’s kissing her neck, but she can’t help herself from asking him something.
Clarke breathes out a laugh. “It was the rover and the rifles, wasn’t it?”
“Huh?” Bellamy lifts his head to look into her eyes.
“Wait, no. Probably the whole taking care of a child thing. Definitely that.”
He grins, finally catching on. “That,” he agrees, but then his voice softens. “And just because you’re you.” Clarke curses herself the moment her eyes water. “Hey. What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.” She reaches out a hand to his cheek, traces the freckles there—the freckles she adores. “I’m just so happy.”
He smiles a closed lip smile at her—the one he reserves for her—and turns his face slightly to press a kiss into her palm. “That makes two of us, princess.”

1. What Station on the Ark would you be from? Uhhhhh I literally have no idea bc we don’t really know about a lot of the stations / what they did. I’m in pre-med so maybe Go-Sci because that’s where Ark Station Medical is? I just looked up all the stations but I really have no idea. good question though. if anyone wants to respond with what they know about they stations that’d be !sick!
2. What would you get arrested for on the Ark? I’m kind of a goody-two shoes but if there was a curfew then maybe that. Or defending someone (I'd like to think)
3. Would you take off your wristband when you landed on the ground? It’s hard to think of what I would or wouldn’t do considering that I've never even been close to being in their shoes but I don't think so
4. What would the necklace Finn would make for you look like? (Clarke: deer/Raven: a raven duh..) hmmmm maybe a dog??
5. If you could resurrect any MINOR character who would it be? wow so many minor characters have died it’s hard to remember. Is wells a minor character considering he was only in a few episodes? if yes then him. if not then Jake. let us go back in time and bring him back season six </3 but not like before Clarke was arrested like present show time bring him back
6. Create a squad of 5 characters to go on missions with. Who are they? Clarke, Bellamy, Murphy, Roan, Monty. I wanna say Raven but we’re in a fight right now.
7. What Grounder Clan would you belong to?  Louwada Kliron Kru SO COLORFUL
8. What would your name be in Trigedasleng? Lian (?? whatever Leeann is in trig)
9. Thoughts on Finn? Some people hate him, and others love him, so I’m curious. Honestly I never liked him he was so weird and cocky and in his first 2 seconds in the show the people who followed him died and then he jumped off the drop ship in front of Murphy like wooOOWW Finn ur sewww coooool and and then he cheated on his girlfriend who risked her life to be with him like idk? couldn't you wait more than a week and half??? and then he literally massacred a village like ik people have done a lot of shitty things but they were posing no threat whatsoever. they tried to redeem him with the spacewalker backstory but I didn’t really feel for him :/ I don’t think he deserves the insane amount of villianization (is that a word?) he gets in fits and stuff but I also don’t think he’s the good guy they introduce him as
10. Be honest. How willing would you have been to take the chip without knowing all the horrible things it does? I think without knowing most people would say yes and on one hand I don’t do drugs and it seemed super drug-like so I probably wouldn’t but on the other hand emotionally this has been the worst year of my life bc I went through a medical thing so maybe?
11. What character do you relate to most? I think lately Murphy bc my life is literally Murphy’s law ( ha ha no pun intended ) and I kind of feel like a lot of things are working against me but I'm still here bitchesssss
12. What character do you like the least? ABBY I literally have hated her since the first episode and I wish she could die without it breaking my baby Clarkes heart but I know it would kill her to lose her so I'm kind of in a pickle. and jaha before he died was the WOAT
13. Describe your delinquent outfit. (Would you wear something like Murphy’s jacket with the spikey red shoulder patch or have a trademark like Jasper’s goggles? Be creative, yet practical) Loose jeans or something similar and a t-shirt with a comfy jacket and the closest thing they have to Blundstones boots
14. Favorite type of mutant animal? butterflies
15. What would your job be on the Ark? something in med bay
16. Would you have willingly pumped Ontari’s heart if Abby asked? obvi
17. If Lexa wasn’t Heda, but she was still alive, then who would have made the best commander? Aiden
18. How would you act if you ate the hallucinogenic nuts like Jasper and Monty? if I was around other people and it was a good effect then lots of dancing I think but if I was alone and it had a bad effect like with Clarke and Bellamy then I would be pretty sad
19. How would you have dealt with Charlotte’s crime? A more John Murphy approach or Bellamy Blake approach? Neither. id probably try and set up some sort of judicial system and figure it out with a group of people
20. Who should have been the Chancellor, if anyone? Clarke with Bellamy as her right hand and some others (including Kane) as a council. Their main concern was relations with the grounders and the people who have actually communicated with them should be in charge of that
21. Would you have been on Pike’s side like Bellamy or on Kane’s side? Or Clarke in Polis? Kane’s
22. Mount Weather had a lot of modern commodities. (example: Maya’s Ipod) What is the one thing you would snatch while there? the iPod. idk how they survived this long without music.
23. What would your Grounder tattoos look like? Hairstyle? War paint? I don't like having permanent things on my body especially when its not symmetrical asdfghjk but maybe like a small meaningful tattoo?? hair would be two dutch braids or just down and war paint maybe the black line on the face like in season five?
24. Favorite quote? too many to choose from but literally anything bellarke. a few that jump to mind are “but we need each other Bellamy. the only way we’re gonna pull this off is together” “you keep her centered / you got it backwards” “I’ve got you for that” “if I'm on that list you're on that list” “we can’t lose her” oh and non bellarke “If only a conscience was a free pass, and not just a voice in your head you pretend to listen to between unspeakable acts.” is a good one
25. If all of the characters were in the Hunger Games, who would have the best shot at winning? Murphy or Bellamy
26. Least favorite ship? Favorite canon ship? Favorite non canon ship? NOT INCLUDING CL OR BC OR BE Braven (I don't mean to offend but they just used each other for sex, I love their friendship) / but for actual canon relationship Kabby (but only because everything abby does bothers me), marper (too pure for this world pls let more good things happen on this show), niytaviah (so! much! sexual! and! romantic! tension!)
27. A song that should be included in the next season? If there had to be another guest star like Shawn Mendes on the show, who would you want to make a cameo? Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen for those rover ~vibes~ / Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing by Aerosmith / Love Like by Peter Collins, and show guest star Brie Larson, Gemma Chan, or, selfishly, Chris Hemsworth
28. What would you do if you were stuck in the bunker with Murphy for all that time? party and watch movies and sexy time
29. You’re an extra that gets killed off. How do you die? I’m the guy who died first when the scouts attacked in season 1 bc that’s my luck
30. A character you’d like to learn more about and get flashbacks of? Bellamy
31. A character you’d bang? umm if you know me you know the answer to this is my homeboy Bellamy he can do whatever he wants to me
32. Would you stay in the Bunker? Go up to Space? Or live on your own in Eden? I wanna say eden but being alone would suck so space
33. In the Bunker, would you follow Octavia? What would you do to pass the time underground? I guess I'd have to because if not I would die uk and I would read if that was possible. if not I'd get some friends
34. What crime would you commit in the Bunker that lands you in the fighting pits? stealing supplies
35. Up in Space, who would you bond with first? Who would be the most difficult for you to get along with? Harper, and if Bellamy wasn’t too depressed to hang out then him too. Most difficult would be echo
36. How long do you think you would last on Earth by yourself? not long at all
37. When the Eligius ship lands what do you do? Hide, the valley is literally huge. or wait in the village bc no one is taking it over bitchhhh if they wanna talk then talk
38. Favorite Eligius character? Least favorite? Diyoza, McCreary
39. Would you Spacewalk? no im so scared of getting lost in space
40. Would you prefer to eat Windshield Bugs, Space Algae, or Bunker Meat? space algae
41. Would you start a war for the last spot of green on earth? What would your solution be to avoid it? nahhh I said the valley was huge before and I meant it, they're all overreacting just share it bruh
42. Would you rather dig out flesh-eating worms or stick thumb drives into bullet holes? thumb drives into bullet holes
43. Are you willing to poison your sister for the Traitor Who You Love? What would you do to stop Octavia? 100% also he kind of knew she would wake up. if I was her sister then the same as Bellamy. if not then kill her.
44. Would you go to sleep in cryo or stay awake like Marper? Cryo
45. Who are you waking up first to explore the new planet? Bellarke

Honestly a bit disappointed in the “traitor you love” moment. Am I crazy for wising it had been a quieter character moment instead? I love soft bellarke so much. Please convince me I’m wrong! im begging you, I don’t want to be a negative Nancy :(
OHHHH. Oh sweet honey baby, you have come to the right person! And I hope you have some time to relax and pull up a chair as the dining room proudly presents the thesis you didn’t ask for! This is going to be a long one.
Because I loved everything about that scene. Honestly, I loved the entire episode top to bottom, and I’ll tell you why. Because this story is a genre story. It is science fiction. And while good genre stories have intimate character moments and connections as the…I don’t know, the flesh and blood of a story, the BONES of genre fiction must be plot. And sometimes, it feels like The 100 carves away too much of that flesh and blood to focus on the bones, when the blood is what makes us care about the bones (this metaphor went cannibal places, oh no). BUT THAT MOMENT! Ohh, that moment, sweet anonymous, was the perfect fusion of flesh and bone. Heart and head. Plot and character. In other words it was our beloved Bellamy’s favorite thing:
!!!!!!HIGH DRAMA!!!!!!!!!!
One of the things I love best about genre fic is that everything—even and especially emotional revelations and turning points—must be done in the most dramatic way possible. It’s ingrained in the dna of the genre, and I’m always disappointed when sci fi and plots take the easy way out. No, I don’t want a magical amulet that’ll just fix everything! YAWN AND SNOOZE AND OO. The 100 never does this, which means it always pushes its characters into impossible corners, forcing them to make unthinkable choices, and that is what I love. If there’s an easy way out, like say, a space station that can shelter Skaikru from the radiation, THE 100 BLOWS IT UP. I LOVE WHEN SHOWS BLOW THINGS UP! I want the drama so explosive that my nose is three inches from the screen because I’m so eager for what’s next that I’m trying to physically leap into the story. I like the stakes SO HIGH that I’m in a constant state of tension. It’s why I’m obsessed with this show. It’s why it’s also not for everyone.
But like I said, this show is at its best when it has the character stakes and the plot stakes working in harmony. 5x08 was a masterclass in that.
For an example in how stakes make a story, Clarke’s radio could have worked (ignore science, I don’t know her, I know only story.) So Spacekru could have known she was alive the whole time, she and Bellamy could have had merry chats across space, she could have told them about her berries, they could have laughed together about that time Murphy slid into a coma, lol, classic Murphy. Then Spacekru could have come bback down when the five years were up, because of course they had enough fuel, and then Clarke would be waiting for them and yay! Good times.
Good snooze.
I have read really good fics that are about this exact thing. They’re cozy, dreamy, romantic, and beautiful. They fill a crack in my heart formed by the agony of Praimfaya. They are also NOT MARKETABLE GENRE STORIES BEING EXPLORED ON THE SCREEN. There are certain expectations there. You need obstacles before you earn the payoff. Bellamy must think Clarke is DEAD!!! And learn to move on without her! And Clarke must talk to him EVERY DAY because the thing that keeps her going is that he’ll come BACK TO HER! BUT THEY CAN’T GET BACK BECAUSE NO FUEL!!!! BUT CLARKE IS IN TROUBLE AND NEEDS THEM NOW!!! Ahhh! The stakes raise with every plot twist. And we’re personally invested to boot.
Bellamy could have learned Clarke was alive in a million ways, by stepping out of the dropship and seeing her waiting, by hearing her on the radio, on and on. But it’s so much better that they reunited in the climactic scene of the WHOLE EPISODE. That the first time Clarke sees him in six years is through a haze of pain, when all hope is lost, and then there is hope. Her drama bae. Dramatically saving her life like no time at all has passed. The whole plot of 5x03 was Bellarke reuniting! That’s what the stakes were. Will Bellamy get to Clarke in time? First he must overcome the fact that he’s stuck in space, and then that he thinks she’s dead, and that Diyoza will kill him, and ack it’s getting harder because Clarke is getting in deeper water by the second!
I LIVE FOR THIS. Those are the moments I watch over and over and over again.
So Octavia could have thrown out that “lol, you love Clarke, you’re so lame, sick burn Blodreina well done have a humansnack ration” at any time in the episode to try to get a rise out of him. But they saved it. For when it counted most. For when it would have the most impact for us and for them.
Bellamy (and the writers) didn’t just not deny that Bellamy loves Clarke. No, Bellamy’s love for Clarke was declared by the narrative while he was POISONING HIS SISTER to SAVE CLARKE’S LIFE as the FATE OF ENTIRE SOCIETIES AND THE LAST LIVABLE PLACE IN THE WORLD HANG IN THE BALANCE. BUT NONE OF THAT MATTERS AS MUCH AS HIS LOVE FOR CLARKE! HIS LOVE FOR CLARKE WAS THE FINAL PLOT TWIST, THE TURNING POINT, THE STRAW THAT BROKE THE BELLAMY’S BACK! BELLARKE WAS THE PLOT!!! THE MOST SIGNIFICANT PLOT!!!!!!
That is my ABSOLUTE JAM RIGHT THERE oh my god. Oh my god I can’t even word about it. Yes, I love quiet character moments. I love them so much. And this show could use more of them. Honestly, this episode was so strong because it not only HAD them, but it let us feel them: Bellarke in the tent, Monty and Harper planning their happy farmlives, Emori and Murphy having a very sad second breakup in the woods while McCreary cursed his entire existence, Raven and Echo holding hands, Raven breaking down with Zeke at the end. From a character point of view, this episode was a gift.
But one of the things I’ve always loved best about Bellarke is that their emotional beats are TIED DIRECTLY INTO THE PLOT IN THE BIGGEST WAY. The stakes in their relationship are literally world-changing, life or death, apocalypses and war and, well, epic, in the Logan Echolls sense. What’s the first time the word love is used in connection to Clarke’s feelings for Bellamy? WHEN SHE’S SENDING HIM TO SACRIFICE HIMSELF IN MT WEATHER. When is the first time Clarke realizes how much losing Bellamy will hurt her? When she closes the dropship door on him and believes she has just killed him herself. Who is the one person on earth Clarke cannot sacrifice, even if THE ENTIRE HUMAN RACE HANGS IN THE BALANCE? Bellamy freaking Blake, that’s who. Your OTP could never.
I love quiet, subtle, low drama Bellarke in my fan fiction, so very much. They deserve to have a break and so do we. But there’s a reason that never happens on screen—because that’s not Story, in the classic way of sci fi and fantasy, where the stakes are magnified. I had a writing professor who liked to use the common writing adage Twist the knife. You stab them right where it hurts, but you don’t just leave it there. You twist it. You milk it for everything its got.
Everything in genre fiction must be bigger. It takes the themes of our world and blows them up by adding bloodier stakes. It’s the same interpersonal struggles, but instead of you losing a job or a friend, you lose a kingdom. You lose a planet. Genre stakes are both personal and external, and the really good genre stories manage to fuse them—which is what they’ve done with Bellarke since day one. The fate of the hundred, of skaikru, of spacekru, of humanity, rested on Bellamy and Clarke being able to forge a working partnership.
And, spoiler alert, they did. And now they have to fucking kiss, hopefully in a moment of high plot-related drama as well.
I know fiction is objective and you super don’t have to agree with me. But I’m a high stakes ho, and 5x08 gave me my high stakes fix. Thank you for coming to the TED talk you only a little bit asked for.

FEEDBACK IS GREATLY APPRECIATED SO PLS FCK ME UP WITH IT<3
“ This is going to be a long six years, Murph. “ You huffed out defeated, eyes peering down on the Earth simmering in fiery radiation. Everything you fought so hard for was crumbling apart into a silvery grey pile of ash. Murphy replied with a small hum as a instant sigh of boredom followed suit. “ I wonder how Bell’s doin’. “
“ Not so good, probably. He won’t stop beating himself up for leaving Clarke behind. “ Murphy spoke in almost a whisper, you were a slight edgy whenever Clarke was the subject of the conversation. The only way to describe the relationship between you and Clarke was that you both were different sides of the same coin.
You rushed into events with little to no thought, using just your raw intuition and desperate hope that it will turn out okay without ever giving a moment to think of the consequences. Clarke took a more logical approach to circumstances with good intention and the standards of her people stuck in mind. Yet, in the end, you both were just trying to survive in an environment where society was reduced to relying on nothing but your primal instincts and pure strength.
Your opposing personalities produced opposing views which resulted in constant disagreements on how to settle state of affairs. It was difficult to reach a compromise with her but you always managed to do so even if you had to swallow your dense pride and submit into Clarke’s wise decisions. Your ‘ partnership ‘ became truly solid when she told you to take care of everyone once you arrived to Go Sci Ring.
Personally, amongst the drama and chaos on Earth, Murphy thought that Bellamy didn’t deserve your undying loyalty and loving compassion during the times he began to set you on the back burner in order to rescue Clarke from the conflicts she wormed herself into. After all, Murphy was your confidant and you told him absolutey everything including how deep your feelings for Bellamy went. Maybe they went a little too deep.
Unbeknownst to you, his feelings for you went just as deep. You both exchanged brief glances or small nods whenever you worked with Clarke. It was only when he saved you from Mount Weather and the terrifying nightmares that followed after. Bellamy heard you shrieking in your sleep and rushed to your side, jolting you awake with a single shake. Tears were falling profusely from your eyes and all you did was wordlessly embrace him in a tight hug. Bellamy practically melted in your touch, his back muscles never felt so relaxed ever since you both landed on this shithole of a planet.
“ He doesn’t deserve you, Y/N. “
“ I think so too, Murph. “
“ I left her behind. “ Bell repeated for what felt like the thousandth time, his eyes were glued to the view out of the Ark. It had been two years since you left the ground, Bellamy had etched a notch into the steel wall for each day that passed. You stared at his remorseful features, unsure of what to say to comfort him yet anger bubbled in the pit of your stomach.
You just wanted to scream at Bellamy for being so oblivious. When was he going to realize that Clarke is dead? When is he going to realize that we will all have to move on eventually? When was Bellamy going to realize that you were so in fucking love with him?
“ I know but it’ll be okay. I’m with you, Bell. “ was all that came out of your mouth. It was like someone else took control of your motor skills and you were trapped within the confinments of your brain, watching on in painful heartache. He replied with a small nod and pursed lips, an obvious sign that your words went through one ear and out the other. You sighed out and silent stalked through the doorway, it was useless to try and lighten Bellamy’s mood.
Clarke played such a vital role in his time on Earth. How could you compete with someone like her?
He didn’t even notice you silently left until his body tensed up extremely and boisterous laughter could be heard echoing down the metal halls. Bellamy followed the sounds, it got ever louder with each step he took closer to the common room. Bellamy stopped in the doorway, you managed to make everyone laugh in these terrible times. It died down as soon as everyone acknowledge the presence of Bellamy, even your beautiful smile faded and your wide doe eyes averted to the floor.
It was almost like you made the group forget that a death wave displaced you of a home and killed nearly everyone you loved. Bellamy was the utter reminder that the group was going to live in space for six years and everyone you ever loved was dead. How relieving.
“ Come join us, Bellamy. “ Raven broke the awkward silence, a wave of her hand notioned him over to her side. What could you even talk about? How great the weather is? Do you come here often? This is stupid. He plopped down the bench seat, the room was so quiet that the droning hum of the Ark drowned out the sound of a pin dropping.
Everyone began to discuss different topics about the Ark while you and Bellamy sat silently, your eyes trained on the window while his were focused on you. You were upset but he didn’t know why. It was unlike you to not join in on the conversation, you had so much to talk about that you’d never ever get bored.
“ I’m going to go. I’m a little tired. “ You politefully excused yourself and everyone said their goodbyes except Bell, as expected. He was too busy daydreaming about the possibility of Clarke still being alive. You quickly dashed the halls as soon as you reared the corner, tears steadily welled up on your waterline.
You stopped at seemed to be a dead end before you moved one of the wall panels and sild through to a quiet wall space in the Ark. It was somewhat furnished with a couple pillows, blankets, a wobbly stool and books stacked upon it. Regardless of the interior design, it was all to yourself. You could cry as much as you want and no one would bother you until someone somehow found their way in.
You flopped onto the pile of pillows and blankets, the hanging tears finally falling down the sides of your face. God, this reality sucks. You would literally do anything to leave and go somewhere else. Your blood suddenly ran cold as you heard heavy footsteps and Bellamy’s familiar voice calling out your name.
“ Y/N? I want to talk to you, where are you? “ He questioned curiously, his tone rising and lowering as Bellamy peeked into room after room. You were nowhere to be found, it was like you disappeared like a ghost. You tried your hardest to be still as to not make a sound, you didn’t want to talk to him. No matter how much your heart scolded you too.
“ Hey, Y/N, how’re you holding up? Emori noticed that you haven’t been coming out of your room. “ Murphy queried concerned, his eyebrows were furrowed towards the ceiling. You happily hummed a response, completely faking as if you were okay when you weren’t. “ I’m worried about you, Y/N? Is Bellamy doing this to you? “
“ No, I’m fine. Don’t worry about it, Murph. It’s just the lack of oxygen getting to me again. “ You answered quietly, setting down the novel you were reading beside you. You mustered up the most genuine smile you could while looking towards Murphy. He could see right through your curtain of lies, it was like it was completely transparent. “ Really! “
“ I’m always here if you need me, Y/N. Just yell and I’ll be right here. “
“ I can always count on you, Murphy. “
“ I don’t get it, Bell! Why don’t you see that I’ve given up almost everything for you and you’re still so enveloped with Clarke? “ You huffed out angrily, your chest heaved slight while your blood slowly boiled in your skin. It was true, you had given up mostly everything to be with him. “ We’ve been friends for how long? You can’t even take a little time out of thinking about Clarke to talk to me or the rest of the group every once in a while. You’re just sitting here, moping and contemplating whether to take that drink. I didn’t get to say goodbye to my father and I almost died on my way up here. If I’ve already come to terms with that, I think you should be able too. “
“ At least you knew your father, Y/N. At least there was someone there to help protect you. At least you have someone who loves you! “ Bellamy barked back in your face, completely disregarding and avoiding the fact that he should move on but he just couldn’t. You groaned out defeated, why did Bellamy have to be so stubborn?
“ That’s not the point! You are the most fucking stupid person I have ever met and I hope you know that. You’re so desperate to find out whether or not Clarke is alive that you’re beginning to push away those who care about you. “ You bluntly stated, your true feelings about his situation finally came out. You exhaled a deep breath of your nose before you stomped out of Bellamy’s room, leaving him behind in the empty and cold. It left an ache in your chest but it had to be said, you refused to keep it bottled up any longer.
Bellamy’s hand balled into fists, his knuckles turning a ghastly white. His palm forcefully knocked some books onto the floor while his free hand ran through his hair in sheer stress. He scoffed loudly while his mind replayed your words. Bellamy wasn’t pushing anyone away, was he?
You retreated back to your nook in the wall, silent tears running down your face. You hadn’t come to terms with leaving your father, Kane, behind. You missed him dearly as he was your biggest supporter. The next best thing was Murphy but even then his advice wasn’t anything like your father’s. Kane would’ve told you that boys are icky and you shouldn’t talk to them ever. Thinking back to before shit hit the fan brought a content smile to your face, a sliver of hope even.
“ Leave me alone! “ You seethed furiously, your spine hit a dead end while your eyes burned with a forest fire. Bellamy blocked the way out with his brick wall like of a body. “ I don’t want to talk to you. “
You tried everything in your power to avoid him. You couldn’t face the reality of having a unrequited love with Bellamy. It actually physically hurt to think about it, a sharp pang of pain shot through your hands and chest to look him in the face. It was filled with desperation and perplexity.
“ Please, Y/N. Why are you avoiding everyone? Why are you avoiding me? “ Bellamy asked in an almost whisper, his voice cracking the middle of his sentences. The bags under his eyes were dark and his lips were more pursed than ever. You bit your lip, struggling to swallow your pride whole. Just fucking do it.
“ Bell, I’m ashamed of myself. You want to know why? It’s because I can’t seem to stop loving you. I fall harder and harder for you everyday and I’m scared of it. “ You admitted, tears immediatey prickling behind your eyes. The emotions were flooding out of you and drowning you along with them. You began to feel suffocated the longer you stood before Bellamy. “ You worry so much about Clarke and I’m dying for you to care for me like that. Sure, love is weakness on the ground but we’re living in space now. None of that matters anymore. “
“ Y/N, I- “ Bellamy tried to inject, only to be cut off by your palm whipping up to stop him.
“ Bell, I love you so much that I’m going to pop if I keep it to myself for four more years. “ You choked out, wiping your hot tears with your sleeve. Bellamy stood frozen, his mouth slightly agape in pure shock. It all came falling down on him. The fact that he was hurting you the whole time clamped down on his heart and ripped a giant piece away from it.
His feet took quick step towards you and his lips came crashing down onto yours. His warm hands cupped your face and his thumbs wiped away the stray tears. You stumbled on your feet from his sudden weight pressing onto you before you regained your balance.
Bellamy pulled away, sloppily wiping his lips while his chest heaved in hunger. He clasped your hand into his and peppered light kisses along your knuckles.
“ I’m sorry for being such a fuckin’ idiot, Y/N. I feel just the same way. Lovesick and completely terrified of it. Forgive me and I promise you that these four years will be the best of your life. “
“ Kiss me again, Bell. “

The 100 5x12 "Damocles Pt 1" Review
Guys…..I don’t even know. This show was my favorite TV show in years, maybe ever until this season (well, I kinda didn’t love Season 4 but that finale was so amazing I was still hooked) but now I don’t even know how the show wants me to feel? Do the writers want us all to stop watching? This season went off the rails after episode 5x05 and I am not a happy camper so be prepared for a salty review.
The good:
“Say hello to my little friend.” Murphy quoting Scarface as he shoots the giant laser gun, only for him to screw it up and almost blow everyone up is grade A John Murphy content.
While I’m on that scene with the laser gun, I just want to say that Dean White has such an eye for cinematography and I loved the way this whole scene was shot. Same with the march through the gorge, this episode did nail directing!
Emori and Murphy exchanging little smiles after he uses the same screw up later to give them cover to escape in the rover. Post apocalyptic Bonnie and Clyde 4ever.
SHAW. Miles Zeke “I will break if they torture you” Shaw. He is a treasure guys, he would rather die by being electrocuted than live knowing he killed hundreds of people or was the reason Raven got tortured. Protect this man. I want him and Raven to spend forever together.
Echo reading Clarke to filth for leaving Bellamy to likely die in the fighting pit because she was angry. This will be extended into the “bad” and “ugly” section.
Monty calmly telling Echo he’s not doing what she wants him to do over the radio.
Abby and Clarke actually having an affectionate second as mom and daughter...even though it was still kinda empty.
Clarke FINALLY waking up and helping her friends...this will also show up in my bad/ugly section.
Indra and Gaia having an actual mother/daughter moment. ”I’m not leaving my daughter” I want them both to survive, they deserve to be happy with each other.
I loved Octavia finally realizing how bad of a leader she’s been, I do not want her to get off the hook that easy. She has made terrible decisions and they lead up to this first 10 minutes of the episode, with her loyal army getting butchered in front of her. Of course the first to die was the little boy she had taught to fight, Ethan being the symbol of Octavia’s “hope” for the future of her people, (I hate the word Wonkru) and all of them mowed down in front of her. But I also hate it took this to get through to her — Thelonious Jaha is so disappointed in her.
“Guess she’s not up for mother of the year.” Raven as she’s taking the shock collar off Madi, TRULY iconic.
BELLAMY BLAKE is consistently the only “good” part of this show for me anymore (aside from Monty, who is almost as absent as his criminally underutilized other half Harper), and this episode we saw Bellamy do what he does best! Protect his sister, save people, put others first; but also he stands up for himself and tells Octavia “This is is all your fault, all these people died because of you.” YES, SON! Let her have it! Don’t hold back! When Octavia says, “Do you want me to die?” And he just responds, “Yes,” we know he didn’t honestly mean that considering how much he tried to keep her alive this episode.
Bellamy’s pep talk to Gaia — “Keep fighting, if not for you then for her” — and him carrying her warmed my heart.
Octavia saying “Wonkru is broken, I broke it” and Indra just flat out saying “Yes you did.”
Clarke reminding Echo that she has blood on her hands. “Don’t think all those people you helped blow up in Mt Weather didn’t count because you were following orders.” I about stood up on my feet and clapped.
Also in this same scene Clarke’s face when Echo tells her Bellamy isn’t dead and he survived her betrayal, girl was SHOOK. And the exchange of “Don’t pretend like you care about Bellamy now” and Clarke interjecting “I ALWAYS cared” — too bad this is the extent of emotion she gets to show for Bellamy in the last two episodes...when in reality she should have been crying buckets of tears.
The last second rescue of Bellamy and Co. in the gorge right when you think Octavia’s “fight is over.” It was great to see the rover back in action Monty and crew saving their friends, I just wish Clarke was there too.
I do think this episode had good moments. BUT hold onto your hats, we are about to dive deep into some salt! And also some plot lines that they seem to be “retconning” for no reason except to give fanservice to a group of people far too late and in the worst way possible...without further ado:
The bad:
Well, there were several little things that I was honestly confused by.
Kane and Vinson...what was that scene for? What did it accomplish? It was so random — what were Vinson's motivations, why did he want Abby to keep being a pill head? I loved the way he went out and the acting between Henry Ian Cusick and Mike Dopud is fabulous but, honestly, it was pointless and had no real impact on the story, like half of the plot this season if I’m being honest.
Why is the Flame and how it interfaces with the commander the most inconsistently written plot this show has ever done? Raven spent half her time in Season 3B reading Becca’s journals and explaining how the Flame works — but now it seems to work any way the writers need it to? In episode 3x12 Monty asks Raven if the minds uploaded to the City of Light (which I’m assuming is a large scale version of the Flame where thousands of “consciousnesses” can be uploaded and exist at once since Becca designed both): “There’s a chance my mom’s still alive?” to which Raven replies, “Depends on your definition of alive.” In 5x12 when Madi so creepily channels “Lexa” it’s indeed not her but a saved version of her mind from before her death, so Madi should be able to theoretically access her memories BUT in no way should Lexa be conscious to what’s going on in the present and “speak through” Madi — If this were the case why didn’t Becca tell the previous commanders who she was? That the flame was tech and not a spirit? Why didn’t the commander during the first Mount Weather troubles tell the next one about how to defeat them or how to help them therefore make peace? Why didn’t they tell Lexa the “threat” that crashed to earth was actually 100 CHILDREN that didn’t want to die or kill they just wanted to survive? IT DOESN’T MAKE SENSE GUYS. Jason, if you happen to read this, EXPLAIN.
In the same episode we are told the flame is ALIE 2.0 made to merge with and enhance the brain of the “host” aka commander. She goes on to say the reason commanders didn’t know it was AI was because the program “degraded over time.” SO how pray tell did a 12 year old girl reset the password on this thing when the 15 or however many prior commanders couldn’t? EXPLAIN. How did she channel a commander when from what we’ve been told it’s never been done, or grounders wouldn’t be technology fearing, warring clans? This plot has more holes than a wheel of Swiss cheese.
I’m gonna stop yelling about this, I promise. I just hate this whole plot and the Flame should’ve went up in flames during Praimfaya.
Killing Ethan. So Thelonious Jaha literally dies to save his adopted son, and he is the first casualty in the gorge? Really, writers? Jaha lost his biological son, Wells, grieved him for almost 5 seasons and in turn sacrifices his life to protect his surrogate son the way he couldn’t protect his biological one, and this is how Jaha is rewarded? I really can’t believe.
The general attitude the writers seem to have about Clarke’s emotions and love, etc. Yes, she can miss Lexa, BUT I don’t believe the levels she misses a person that she knew in total for 4 months and hated approximately 3 months and one day, but not still be gutted over losing her best friend of FIFTEEN YEARS, WELLS JAHA. Or her actual father, or Bellamy — her canon post-Wells best friend in the series — whom she thinks she left to DIE? And if she can forgive Lexa’s multiple betrayals so quick she should already have forgiven Bellamy and feel like the worst person, to be honest. This season has treated the character of Clarke Griffin poorly and she deserved better.
On that subject, why is Clarke a side character instead of the lead female character? Why is her storyline like post apocalyptic Mommy Dearest? Why is she yet again isolated from her friends and family? EXPLAIN.
Okay now that I’ve gotten the above off my chest we are gonna dive straight into
The ugly:
Phew! I tell ya what, this season has exhausted me mentally and emotionally and not for good reasons.
Clarke won’t remove the flame from Madi because she “promised her” but she will force a shock collar on her and shock her with the voltage that brings a full grown man to the ground? REALLY, YOU GUYS WENT THERE? Are any of you even parents?
The whole storyline that Madi can see and feel Lexa’s memories is a whole other level of ICK! I didn’t think I’d ever have to deal with on this show. There are so many ways the writers could have not “gone there” with this story: never letting Madi have the flame, making sure we understood Madi, a twelve-year-old child, could only see relevant memories of the commanders, etc., but no. Instead, they imply that the former “lover” of her “mom” can consciously “speak” through her and show/tell the child anything. It is disturbing and I cannot believe the writers actually went there and were okay with it. Again, I am shocked that some of these people have children because they are not treated well in this show. And the  parents are usually the worst offenders.
On that note, I’d like to mention Abby’s advice and Clarke LISTENING. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate Abby, and I know she’s always “tried” but she has been for 90% of the show a terrible parent. You would not want to use her as a role model for good parenting, that’s for sure.
It’s not a for sure thing yet, but if that end scene of “saving” Bellamy, Gaia and Indra is Octavia’s “redemption” I am gonna pop a forehead vein. Bellamy and Clarke still get what they did seasons ago thrown in their faces daily. I expect this x 100 for Octavia because she actively chose to do all the hideous things she did. She is not a hero, she is a villain and should be treated as such for the rest of the season. She can get a “redemption” next season if she has to have one.
If you made it through this very critical review I applaud you (and if any of the writers or directors read this, know that I respect your talent; this ranting is because I know what you guys are capable of and it’s so much better than what I’ve see this season).
To end things on a slightly positive note, next week is the season finale! Can you believe it’s already here?! Also can you believe we’ve survived this VERY rocky season? There have definitely been great moment this season, just not enough. But here are the things I’m looking forward to  or hope happen next week:
We finally get to meet Shannon Kook’s character! I’ve been waiting to meet him for months!
Hopefully Bellamy and Clarke reconcile and reconnect, I miss their amazing bond and protectiveness of one another.
Hopefully Kane and Gaia are alive and healing?
After she helps Wonkru, I hope Madi has the flame removed and it gets destroyed, never to be mentioned again.
I hope Diyoza and her baby are A-OK and we will see them next season. Same goes for Shaw, I want him alive and happy being the sweet love Raven Reyes has always deserved.
I want Clarke to mend her relationships with all of her friends and people, to apologize and to accept apologies. I want her to feel loved, I am tired of her always being isolated.
I want Bellamy to feel loved and understood, especially by Clarke and not in a “shippy” way (though I’m all for it). I want her to acknowledge that she left him to die, that she sorely regrets it and that she loves him especially if she can express that kind of sentiment for a computer hard drive and someone she liked for two weeks of her life. Bellamy and Clarke deserve an entire episode to work through their stuff because their relationship is literally the central relationship of the entire series, and to not let them acknowledge what they mean to each other and make amends does the show and the characters a disservice.
I want the season to end with hope! This season in ways has been more depressing and frustrating than Season 3 ever dreamed of being. We need light at the end of the tunnel or Season 6 may have an audience of 17 people. Levity and hope don't take away from drama and angst if executed correctly. If you can’t write both sides into the same space it’s not a problem with your story, it’s a problem with who’s writing it.
I will have hope that they can and will do better (the characters and the writers) until the end BUT I will still bring the salt when I need to.
I give this episode 3 bees because it had potential, great cinematography, and some great Murphy one liners. But it was overall flat and disappointing.
What were your thoughts of this episode? What are you hoping for in the finale? Comment below!
And tune in to the season finale next week! Our founder Sam will be live tweeting and writing up the finale review!
The 100 airs at 8/7c on The CW.

Do you think Clarke had already subconsciously fallen for Bellamy when she was with Finn and Lexa? It seems like both Finn and Lexa had questioned her about this in an indirect manner.
Short answer: Yes.
Long answer:
The attraction has been there since season 1. That’s for sure. I mean look at her face. They were openly flirting in this scene.
Tumblr media
And Finn saw that too.
I think she started having feelings (in a romantic sense of the word) for Bellamy in season 2. She asked specifically if Finn and Bellamy made it. Twice. She put Bellamy on the same level as her love interest. (Did she ask for Monroe? Sterling? Octavia? No.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She ran through the camp just to get to him and the hug… even Bellamy himself was shocked. Octavia noticed (”There’s something I thought I’d never see.” + her facial expression was also very telling). Damn just rewatch it. Pay a special attention to Clarke’s facial expressions. Compare Bellarke hug to Clarke/Octavia hug - there’s a massive difference.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Clarke still felt guilty for closing the door on Bellamy and Finn. That’s very evident in that scene by the fire in 2x05.  Bellamy offered the understanding to her. “It had to be done.” He made it very clear that he’s not holding it against her, that he understands why she did it. He reassured her she’d done the right thing. And that’s something Clarke needed at that moment. She was kinda on her own in the Mountain. She was suspicious and trying to get out while the others were trying to convince her they’re finally safe. Then she espaced with the knowledge she left them all behind in MW (which is not what happened but I’m pretty sure Clarke thought something like this). And then she reunited with Bellamy and suddenly she was not alone. She got her partner back.
Tumblr media
And then in 2x05-2x08, they were back in their co-leaders mode. They were so in sync…. Since this episode (meaning 2x05) Bellamy is the person she trusts the most. The person who understands the burden of being a leader and carries it with her. She started falling for Bellamy in these episodes. She still had feelings for Finn but she was not exactly “with Finn”. And tbh she wasn’t really with Finn since the moment Raven’d landed on the Earth.
The narrative backs me up in 2x09. Clarke just killed Finn and one of the first things she said to Bellamy in this episode is “I can’t lose you too.” Again, Bellamy is put at the same level as the person she’d said “I love you” to just a few hours ago.L ater in the episode L/xa (sorry guys but thi will show up in the tag anyway since the anon used the correct name) and Clarke had a conversation about leadership and L/xa confided to Clarke a story of her lost lov. Clarke needed to stop the pain. She wanted (and needed) to become a strong stoic leader and make sure she will never have to feel this way again so she built the walls around her heart and emotionally shut herself off. “Love is weakness.” And what is the first thing Clarke did? She sent Bellamy away with the words “I was being weak. It’s worth the risk.” This is Clarke trying to be like L/xa - strong leader devoid of emotions. And what is Clarke’s last line in this episode? “Love is weakness.” Hmmm interesting. So yeah I think she started realizing her feelings for Bellamy in 2x09 and that’s one of the reasons she sent him away.
She realized her mistake pretty fast because basically all episodes of 2b are Clarke being constantly worried about Bellamy (2x11 is the perfect example but it’s literally in every single episode). Yet she never stopped believing in him. She never doubted him. She always believed he would succeed in his mission.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even L/xa saw it and called Clarke out on her feelings for Bellamy. “You care about him.” “I care about all of them.” “Yet you worry about him more.” FUCK EVEN L/XA SAW IT.
“…besides, we lost contact with Bellamy.” she’s blinking the tears back again.
Tumblr media
And their reunion in the tunnels in 2x16? Clarke is speechless, she’s just staring at Bellamy in wonder, blinking the tears back. She’s absolutely stunned, she can finally breathe again, the relief is written all over her face.
Tumblr media
Moving on…. she didn’t tell anyone else but Bellamy that she’s leaving (maybe expect for Monty). She didn’t even tell her mother. Anyways, did she kiss Monty goodbye? No, she didn’t.
Tumblr media
Now for the second part of your question. I’d like to start by saying that Clarke probably spent plenty of time thinking about the delinquents and Bellamy in particular during those 3 months between s2 and s3. Now I’m talking about platonic Bellarke. She thought of him as her partner, friend, co-leader. She thought of him as a person who pulled that lever with her.
And then she finally saw him again when he came to rescue her. He caressed her face and hair and she’s absolutely stunned. She just stared at him with wide eyes. She begged for his life, her voice breaking. She would do absolutely anything - even sacrificing her own life - for him (don’t forget that she didn’t know Roan is taking her to Polis, she thought he’s taking her to Nia who wants to kill her). This scene kills me every damn time because it’s the least platonic shit I’ve ever seen. And Roan noticed (and as the season went on, he kept on noticing).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then everything changed because Roan brought her to Polis and Clarke was forced to play the role of Wanheda, She became a political figure. War was about to happen and Skaikru was in danger. She didn’t trust L/xa at all (for a good reason because obviously L/xa betrayed them before) so she had to stay to make sure L would keep her word AND SHE WASN’T READY TO COME BACK. NOT YET. That’s why she decided to stay in Polis in 3x03. If you watch the final Bellarke scene closely, you can see that the conversation with Bellamy wasn’t easy for her. When he walked away, she had to take a moment to blink back the tears and take a deep breath before she was ready to turn around and be wanheda again.
Tumblr media
Ever since 3x04, she was falling for L/xa. But at the same time, she never stopped having feelings for Bellamy. It IS possible to love two people at the same time. However, I believe Clarke didn’t realize the true nature of her feelings for Bellamy.
One of my favourite scenes ever is definitely their argument in 3x05. I analyzed it in details so you can check that out. Clarke was stunned. She was absolutely crushed. But that scene also kinda woke her up. She was on her own for 3 months, she was isolated from her people in Polis (which is the main reason I’m always saying she was a terrible ambassador) and this argument finally showed her the reality and the consequences of what’s been going on in Arkadia in her absence. She realized she’s not the only one who’s been hurting. She saw how broken Bellamy was. And her being Clarke, she believed her they could fix it all. Together. But she said a few words that triggered Bellamy and he did what he did (again, I talked about it in detail a few months ago).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After the debacle in Arkadia, she focused on playing the role on wanheda again in order to keep her people safe. She was getting closer and closer with L/xa and eventually she fell for her…. and we all know how that played out. After Jake, Wells and Finn, she lost another person she loved. At that time, that was all she could think abou. Everything happened so fast and then there was the flame, Titus, Murphy… she didn’t have time to think about anything, let alone her feelings. She was overwhelmed. Her feelings for Bellamy were still buried inside of her, without her realizing it.
The Bellarke reunion in 3x11 is interesting for many reasons. Clarke’s expression can be interpreted in many ways but I think she’s mostly shocked she sees Bellamy, relieved he’s alive and relatively well (she had to blink to make sure he’s really standing there in front of her) but she was also scared. She didn’t know where they stood because the last time they saw each other he handcuffed her and she tazed him.
Tumblr media
3b was about finding their way back to each other and Bellamy realizing his feelings for Clarke. Yes, I think that at this point Bellamy is aware of his feelings for Clarke. Clarke on the other hand is not but the feelings are definitely there and have been since season 2. Those feelings never disappeared and I hope we’ll get to see Clarke bringing these feeling back on the surface and becoming aware of them.

June 18: Thoughts on 1x07 Contents Under Pressure
Finally continued my The 100 Season 1 rewatch yesterday. Wrote some notes:
It kind of looks like the Council is also the judicial system on the Ark, which honestly shouldn’t surprise me at all. Whatever hearings they do seem to take place in the Council chamber. I still think Marcus is basically the prosecutor or otherwise sort of in charge of the judicial function—Jaha is fine and still Chancellor but it’s Marcus reading out the summary of Abby’s case. She’s spared because her “medical expertise is still required” which fits with my theory about the Ark class hierarchy.
Raven identifies herself as from Mecha Station, so if I ever need to establish the canon nature of this fact, this is where it is, 1x07. Also, she identifies herself to Sinclair as if he didn’t already know her but that could just be because she doesn’t recognize his voice.
That moment when Abby hears Clarke’s voice was so lovely. Nothing in the second two seasons stirs my heart like small moments in the first two. Also when Jaha hears that Wells isn’t alive, fuck, that’s too sad. Get it away.
Apparently this is Miller’s first episode.
Also man I love storm episodes. Big weather events get me EVERY TIME.
They say at the beginning that Monty, Jasper, and Bellamy aren’t back yet—I know it’s been a while since I saw the last ep but weren’t they all in at the end of it? I remember Bellamy closing the gate and dramatically saying “there’s a storm coming.” And if you know there’s a storm coming, why would you wander the fuck off? Okay never mind, Bellamy went Grounder hunting. And this is also where Miller was introduced—his first scene is dragging in Lincoln.
Raven taking a drink of moonshine before sterilizing her hands and Clarke smiling fondly at her = why I ship (S1) Princess Mechanic.
OMG little doggy made out of nuts and bolts that is the most adorable thing. I miss the Ark aesthetic SO MUCH.
Honestly, that Clarke has assisted her mom in surgery, meaning she’s trained at least partly directly under Abby, makes me wonder how close they are/were. Like, a combination of them starting the show estranged and fan fiction too often painting Abby as a bitch or their relationship as strained has somewhat obscured what I think is canonically a strong bond between Abby and Clarke—not just because they’re mother and daughter, I mean they genuinely were close beyond even that.
The Bellamy, Miller, and Lincoln scene: First, it’s my headcanon that Lincoln was the spy on the camp the entire time, including back to the pilot (IDK who that actor was, I’m not saying it was Ricky Whittle, just that I think it was Lincoln-the-character in a lot of war paint and shadows), and that his reports might have been designed the whole time to keep Anya et. al. at bay, and also that he might have volunteered for the spying job because he was curious about the Sky People—and that fits with this scene. Second, when Bellamy says they’ve “lost” 10 people, I wonder if he’s counting exile Murphy. I hope so.
Bellamy sees a picture of a big furry creature and asks “What is that thing? Friend of yours?” which, first, haha Bellamy joke, and second, YEAH WTF IS IT? IT’S BEEN FOUR SEASONS WHAT IS IT?
Clarke’s grumpy cat get out of the way face = A+ more content like this please.
I love that Miller was introduced as a surly Bellamy minion and the whole time he was gay and only Jarod Joseph knew.
“In case you didn’t notice, his people are already killing us. How many more of our people have to die until you realize we’re fighting a war?” Interesting because actually most of those people didn’t die at Grounder hands at all. Two died when the dropship landed. Wells died because another delinquent killed him. Charlotte committed suicide. Murphy, if he’s being counted among the ten, was exiled after a series of events having nothing to do with Grounders. Trina and Pascal, who I’m pretty sure are already dead, died of acid fog, which is a Mt. Men weapon (I know Bellamy doesn’t know this but we do). And the other three were killed by Grounders, fair enough. Plus Jasper and Finn’s injuries. But still, ten Grounder deaths there were not. Also none of them were killed or injured at the dropship camp, which fits in with my theory that this was never a dispute about territory or a case of mean colonialists stealing native people’s land. The dropship camp doesn’t bother the Grounders at all.
There’s a little American flag at the memorial to the culling victims. Also, here we see the exact moment when Kane’s redemption arc begins. And a continuation of Jaha’s… I don’t want to say ‘redemption’ but like…transformation?
Okay, that’s ridiculous to say the people in the culling died for nothing—it wasn’t nothing because there aren’t enough life boats NOW there definitely weren’t 320 people ago. I mean I understand why the populace is angry but, haha, little do they know that between the Unity Day attack, the Exodus ship explosion, and all but 3 stations either exploding, crashing, or getting lost on the way to Earth, there are many more population-reduction events to come. Oh yeah and then radiation comes in a ridiculous overwrought wave and kills them all in a terrific shark-jumping explosion of silliness.
More Ark life details: “I swore an oath to protect and defend these people.” There’s something called “station representatives”—the same or different than Council members? Also they have a “mess hall.”
The dropship is three stories. Did I think it was two? Clarke has amazing boots.
The torture sequence makes me intensely uncomfortable, which is of course obviously the point. Again, nothing that the show’s done in the last two seasons accomplishes this. They just…try so hard to be constantly shocking and tense but it reads poorly to me, it reads like overcompensating for having nothing more to say.
I don’t get the station representatives thing. First, they’re not the council. Diana Sydney is one of them. And also there are, what, like a hundred of them? Why so many? What do they do? Is this like a primarily administrative job? An advocacy job? The Ark’s not that big, direct communication with the council doesn’t seem like it would be that hard. Are these also elected positions? How many does each station have, and how big is each station that they need, like, 10 reps per station? Some of them are pretty young, too; is this like an every-sub-group-has-an-advocate thing? Diana refers to her people as “the workers,” which I always assumed meant she was a rep for one of the worker-stations, like maybe Factory, but maybe it means she literally, specifically, represents “workers.”
I want a prequel that’s just like the political rivalry between Jaha and Diana. Actually, I want a refund on Season 4 and for it to be replaced by this prequel.
Say what you will about Octavia, but Bellarke’s torture plan was stupid as fuck—yes, it makes sense on the level of a preschooler (a very violent preschooler) but anyone with real cognitive skills should honestly be 10000% distrustful of any answer Lincoln did give because, like, why would he tell you the truth? If I were him, I’d get the torture to stop by pointing out the wrong vial. I mean he has literally nothing to lose; they’ll kill him but they would have done that anyway, and at least he takes one of their own down too.
That said, I feel like the more they made Octavia violent, over the seasons, and played up her ridiculously unrealistic amazing warrior skills or whatever, the more they ignored how smart and resourceful she used to be.
Abby didn’t “turn Jake in” though—he hadn’t done anything wrong, there was nothing to turn him in for. Like don’t get me wrong I love Jaha, but HE’S the one who floated his friend for a non-crime, so maybe he should take some of the blame for that.
I love Kane’s mom. Honestly, they used to have such good minor/side characters and they threw them away so willy-nilly and I thought, okay, I get it, we need casualties and there will be more good side characters but frankly there haven’t been. The quality of side character has declined precipitously. I literally cannot remember the last time a new character was introduced that I gave an honest shit about. After S2, there’s been like…no one on the sidelines who holds any interest for me. Probably because they’re all Grounders.
Finn’s using Raven’s jacket as a pillow, which reminds me of Jasper using Monty’s jacket as a blanket.
Finn’s basically just this totem Clarke and Raven pass back and forth. They’re both under the impression they literally need him to keep going (“he’s all I have;” “I can’t do this without you”) but like, really, what does he bring to the table? Certainly no literal skills, but not even that much by way of emotional support or devotion—especially not to Raven, obviously. And Clarke’s known him all of a week so the concept that she needs him for anything is like, I can see why she herself thinks that (in a normal situation she and Finn would be in a honeymoon phase, plus she just lost Wells so like I can see how she’d latch on to someone else in a pinch)—but it’s still laughable.
I’ve seen that shot of Bellamy and Clarke’s hands touching a million times but totally forgot they were handing off a torture weapon. And that their dialogue can basically be summarized as “deep sounding shit we tell ourselves to excuse our guilt for the reprehensible things we’ve just done that had literally no actual justification whatsoever.” I mean, I’m not judging per se, the show needs conflict and also they’re basically fetuses so they should be imperfect but still. How romantic.
My characterization of Clarke, most of the time, is so bad. I feel bad about this.
I’m trying to get a better sense of the delinquent camp but it’s difficult.
It looks like there are only 6 Council members, which semi-confuses me because it just seems like it would make sense to have one representative per station. I don’t think they’d give Prison Station a council member, but counting the Chancellor, that would still make 12. But then—do all stations have living quarters on them? I’ve been assuming yes but why should I assume that? Go-Sci very well might not—nope, never mind, that’s the only part left and I bet we’ll be seeing living quarters on it next year (by “we” I mean probably not “me” but you know). Anyway. How are the Council members elected then? At large? Also, post-culling, post-100, there are 2,237 people on the Ark. And Jaha says there are “only enough dropships to carry 700.”
I can’t believe people still know what the Titanic is to be honest. And would reference it so casually.
