today was a nice day. we had tea, garlic bread, and spoke a lot outside in the garden. i was also able to decide on some next-steps in terms of my job-hunt & planning a career now that i’m out of university.

despite everything, by the time nighttime rolled around, i started feeling restless. it has been happening quite often these days. i cannot go to be bed with my mind at ease; there’s nothing explicitly bothering me, but i feel tense every time it’s time to sleep. i usually cope with it by scrolling endlessly through social media or reading fan-fiction until my eyes hurt but my dad told me today that i need to improve my health by cutting down on screen-time.

so, having lost my coping mechanism tonight, i was telling krishna that i would try my best to keep him in my mind to be able to sleep. even then, i felt really anxious. i wasn’t sure i could do it.

and right then i heard music coming from a function organised in our community to celebrate vinayaka chaturthi: the beginning of shree krishna govinda hare murari.

what can i say?

it literally felt like i was listening to him tell me: go to sleep, i’m right here.

thanks to his love, the way he listens & lets me know he’s there, i’m gonna do my best not to fall back into the horrible doom-scrolling habits before bed today 🐵 let’s see how it goes.
