The Land of Drought and Poetry

A land of the Bard of Blood.

Ah, LODAP, the land of Drought and Poetry. A stoic and tumultuous land scraped of all life and love. It is a hot and harsh badlands complete with vast stretches of desert, harsh stone mountains and cliffs, and deep, carved valleys and caverns that crisscross through the land. 

It is hot. And dry. And inhospitable.

While seemingly barren and lifeless, there are signs of life, whether welcomed or not. Tribes of clambering consorts squabble over territory, pushed to the brink of utter war by dehydration and the Scripture that lines the world. Ancient symbols, hieroglyphics, and poetry over every meter and form can be found across the land, scattered through the sands and wastes, and painting a single message.

You can not trust the others. 

While this may seem ominous, closer examination would teach the perceptive artist that these ‘holy’ and ‘divine’ pieces are… lacking. Sure, they’re pretty good with ok form but… this? This is what has consorts fighting tooth and nail over the last drops of water for?

That doesn’t sound right.

Whoever wrote these messages is up to something. Something big. And if you look closer… you can see just how recent these etched poems are. They are new.

Whoever made these messages to the world is still active and planning. And GOD their poetry is only getting more self aggrandizing and worse.

It’s up to the Bard of Blood to travel across the Land of Drought and Poetry, settle the raging disputes about to go ballistic, and put an end to whatever sick game the denizen is playing with the consorts!

Denizen suggestion: Saga, norse seer goddess of poetry. She is known to drink ale with Odin and share stories.

Features

The Pit

At the exact middle of the world is a pit, carved out straight down into the planet. There is a faint howling of wind and a few trickling streams of water falling down into it. The consorts know to avoid this place and high level monsters spawn in the area to protect it… and whatever lies deep inside of it. (Probably the denizens lair to be honest)

The Mural

In one dried up river valley lies a massive piece of artwork, intersecting shapes and lines with lines and lines of prophetic Scripture from the denizen. Even the consorts can’t make any sense of it… who KNOWS what it could mean? Or what sort of discarded artifacts could lie here. (The denizen’s practice board, perhaps?)

The Scripture

You notice a lot or recurring themes in the scripture across the world. Love, the power of friendship, blah blah blah. Some mysterious traveler undergoing a ~grand~ transformation and uniting the world and blaaah blah blah. You feel like you’ve heard this all before. It would be nice to ignore if the thing wasn’t bloody posted damn near everywhere. It’s all fun and games until all of this fluffy poetry and art panels start becoming true...
