Hello everyone, good morning / afternoon / evening! ❤️

First and foremost, we want to thank each and every one of you for your continued support and interest in Blue Harbor! Summer is a busy season for many of us, but as we reach the tail end and fall slowly approaches, we couldn't be prouder to foster a little community where we can all get away from the craziness of everyday life. As we'd like to reiterate, we strive to keep this group as inclusive and welcoming as possible — to new and old members alike! Thus, we want to issue a few gentle reminders to everyone in light of some feedback that we've received thus far to ensure that we all remain on the same page. Please read the entire post thoroughly and like this post once you've done so in order to acknowledge that you've read it.

As per our activity guidelines, we enforce a strict no bubbling policy. Each week, we require that all members reply to three different muns in order to pass our activity check. These three muns whom you interact with per character must be switched out as often as feasibly possible from week to week in order to ensure that you are interacting with as many other writers as possible within the group. In general, if you feel as though you are struggling with this, please reach out to us and we will do our best to help! Additionally, a 'randomized groups' task / event will be rolling out within the next few weeks in order to spice things up on the dash and facilitate new connections; if this poses any issues for anybody, let us know off anon!

In a similar vein, we ask that you please attempt to prioritize threads evenly. We completely understand that sometimes you have to go where the muse takes you, or sometimes there may be plot-driven threads that take priority over others, but we want to reiterate that everyone should feel welcomed here regardless of IC / OOC connections! If there are threads in your roster that you simply aren't feeling anymore, that's perfectly okay, but please try to let your thread partner know so you can think of something new together!

In terms of OOC activity, please put your best foot forward when it comes to reacting to calls and plotting. Slide a react to someone you may have not interacted with before, offer up your best ideas and apply as much effort as possible when fleshing out character dynamics. Additionally, we understand that sometimes things get lost and it may be hard to keep up with the sheer amount of amazing writers that we have in this group, but we also ask that you try your best to stay on top of messages as a result of calls and plots. We say that it's never too late to go back to a DM and continue the conversation!

In terms of IC activity, we want to clarify that our definition of an interaction consists of a traditional written thread. We absolutely adore the increase in text / call / facetime threads on the dash, and we do not want them to stop by any means. We think they're a wonderful way of keeping muse high and furthering development for characters! We just ask that you keep in mind that they do not count towards activity check, and you will still need three different thread interactions in order to pass each week! This will be further clarified on our official guidelines page as we realized it was not previously specified.

In general, have fun! Writing on a platform like this is a truly wonderful hobby and we can’t express enough how awesome it has been getting to share it with every single one of you over the course of the past two months! We’ve been having an amazing time witnessing all of your enthusiasm and we hope you have been too!

the loves of my life, members, angels, hidden's cryptids alike, first off, let me just start by saying THANK YOU so much for the activity and love and excitement that was felt throughout this event!! we are truly grateful for that and all of the creativity and effort we seen without fail on the dash!! we have no doubt we’ll be seeing the same energy for the next one, and the one after that, and the dozen more that we wish may follow. but with that being said, all good things must eventually come to an end, and all of our friends have found themselves awoken by their alarm clocks and the sounds of city traffic outside their windows. with our characters returning to modern day, we do have to say that another event has concluded here at hiddenwashington. please, from this point on, DO NOT POST ANY NEW CONVERSATIONS regarding the event ( new starters, or replies to OPEN event starters )!! that being said, YOU MAY CONTINUE TO WRAP UP YOUR EVENT CONVERSATIONS, put a nice ending to them, find a good stopping point, or transition them to work outside the event!! from here on out though, the dash will be going back to its normal interactions. to make that transition easier, each mun will be allowed ONE FREE STARTER, just like the start of the event, for the next 24 hours only! after that, our rules go back into place as usual! remember that is ONE OPEN STARTER PER MUN! I'm one of those "weirdos" with a "self autonomous" muses, and as one of those weirdos, I think there's a very distinct difference between people like me, and people who use that as an excuse to force their self-insert fantasies. I've generally identified three main categories of roleplayers. People who write CHARACTERS, people who write SELF-INSERTS and/or WISH-FULFILLMENT, and people who write MUSES (and a 4th "people who make blogs but never actually roleplay" but that's irrelevant here). Yes I know "muse" is basically just another word for "inspiration", but hear me out. People who write CHARACTERS are the ones who go through conscious and deliberate decisions on how to write ("I think the character would think and act like this in this situation"), and are more likely to be pre-plotted heavy while sticking to the plot that was decided on without deviating from whatever was agreed upon. If it does deviate, it usually involves a lot of OOC discussion around it. Then there are your SELF-INSERT-y / WISH FULLFILLMENT writers. They aren't writing characters, nor muses. They're writing their projections of their fantasies of what they WANT characters to be, including bending or breaking character to achieve the desired result (Shippers are especially guilty of this). Such people frequently also try to manipulate OTHER PEOPLES' muses into bending/breaking character or manipulate the muns writing their target characters to, once again, achieve their personal fantasy. They might CLAIM to have a "self-autonomous muse" that "does what they want outside of their control", but this is a lie, and you can usually tell when you're dealing with one of these people instead of a Muse writer because that line will be used to excuse disrespecting OOC boundaries and force interactions / writing that other writers are not okay with, even after you've made those boundaries clear. Coercion is a common theme, but some particularly ballsy wish-fulfillment writers will just straight up force things. And then you have your true-blue ("self autonomous") MUSE writers, with characters who "write themselves" without putting much actual thought into it. And Muses can be fun, but they can also be annoying because they will frequently go off the rails at a moment's notice from what you wanted / decided while giving you the fat middle finger, and trying to force them back where you want them to go is tantamount to inciting writers block mutiny. The difference, to me, between the earlier described Wish-Fulfillment writer that pretends their muse "can't be controlled", and the ACTUAL Muse writer, is the Muse writer may not be able to control or change what their Muse wants to say, think, or do, but if it crosses another roleplayers' boundaries (or the writers' own boundaries ; yes, sometimes our muses trespass on OUR boundaries, even tho we write them. Think of it like an unwelcomed intrusive thought), the writer can still choose to NOT WRITE IT. I've written a LOT of Muses over the years. Some of them villainous or straight up nasty. I have also put a lot of Muses in "Time Out", or even retired some entirely and haven't gone back to writing them, because the Muse wanted to go in a certain direction and either 1) it would've crossed another writers' boundaries, or 2) it was something that I didn't want to write even if the OTHER PERSON was okay with it. If the person claiming they "don't control their muse" is using it to coerce or force an interaction you don't desire or are uncomfortable with, yes, THOSE people are just using characters to veil their own personal fantasies and are best AVOIDED (dealt with and seen plenty of THOSE people myself).

But generally, I find that if the OOC WRITER is willing or even WANTS to hard-stop an undesired interaction/thread/whatever should that situation arise (and isn't claiming they want to just to coerce you into agreeing to undesired themes, very important distinction! If you express discomfort and then reluctantly agree and they're TOO eager to get right back to it without considering your feelings, that's a BIG red flag) then chances are they actually do have a "Muse" separate from their personal desires and fantasies. A genuine "Muse controls themselves" writer will happily stick that Muse in the time-out corner if they refuse to behave themselves.

I'm going to try to keep this short and sweet, but as time goes things will be added.

My blog is family friendly, please keep content PG! No language is preferred, but any strong language will not be answered, and only deleted.

I will do limited threads, just mainly focusing on asks/anons. Things are limited because I work a full time job, and I am married and have some additional responsibilities.

I have 10+ years of RP experience. Open to M!A and to anons! Any asks that do not follow the rules will be deleted. I will try to message you privately if I can, but if done on anon I will have to make a public post.

I only ship Hiccup with Astrid, and write him as straight. Please refrain from sending any asks hinting or stating that Hiccup has flirted/kissed any other characters.

HOWEVER, sometimes there is undeniable chemistry, in which case I may be open to shipping the two characters.

Anon/RP asks may be reblogged, but if it's an RP thread that gets reblogged by me and the other writer, please only like so it can easily be kept track of.

If you're an anon, and pretending to be a character from the movies or shows: if there are multiple different anons portraying the same character, it gets confusing fast. I may not respond if I already have another thread going with another anon for that character.

No godmodding, no grabbing or dragging Hiccup [without permission], no controlling Hiccup's or Toothless' actions, and no smut.

Mun is 21+, I just like to keep things clean.

For anything coming into my inbox: unless it's specified for the mun, please make sure it's something Hiccup can respond or react to in some way.

You do not have to match my length, however, if all of your replies are essentially one to three sentences, I also struggle with responding to those as well. I work a very mentally demanding job, so sometimes I can't fill in the blanks, unless the muse is particularly strong with our thread.

If you're interested in bringing in more characters from the HTTYD universe, just discuss it with me first! I will extend the same courtesy to you if I'm interested in bringing in more characters from your muses world.

Writing styles: For some reason, when someone writes with me and they're using first person pov (I, me) it's extremely off-putting. I've tried to continue despite that, but for some reason it just causes the Hiccup muse to shut down 🤷‍♀️ Third person works best, since rp is telling two different characters perspectives.

The only exception is if you're asking Hiccup a question, and it's not in conjunction with quotation marks for dialogue, I have zero issue with that.

I only add this because it's come up a few times: Hiccup is the type to ask questions when he thinks of them. If your character sits down and says "You must have some questions for me, ask away!" I tend to panic because everything we've ever written together immediately drops from my brain. I also use the app to write more than my computer, and it can be difficult to track down and reread our threads. Please try not to ask this of Hiccup unless it pertains to something that was revealed in your current response, I'd really appreciate it!

1.) Hey everyone, my name is Seras but I do go by Klemmie! I am nonbinary & my pronouns are they/them or she/her, I prefer they/them though! On this subject, most muses are of age or have a verse where they are, please be aware of this and all main verse ages for my muses are on their bios on the character page.

2.) I am working a job which I usually only have a couple days off in the week and most evenings free. However activity and replies may be slow or low due to the nature of this being a multi-muse blog and my energy levels on any day. I will do my best to pop in at least once or twice a week with the intentions of queuing up any replies that I owe and once in a blue moon do I reply quickly and without queuing. I am also going to be selective on who I RP with at times so this blog is semi-selective, but if I am following you I am interested in writing with you!

3.) I am good with a mix of jumping into things without a plot; such as memes, open starters, random things are good. But sometimes I prefer plotting, even if only a little bit, especially when it comes to a pre-established relationship that isn’t the canon between two characters; this includes children of muses. I am okay with writing with said muses but I would like to have a bit of plotting to this as my version of the muse or muses as parents in question is not the one canon to yours as such, I need to make sure I know whats going on or all your gonna get from my muse is either ’ I have no kids ’ or i dont believe you, so i tend to avoid that if no prior communication has happened before hand! I do also like screaming about plots that both parties might want to do and discuss between us to work out a possible thread idea?

4.) This blog is multi-fandom, verse and ship. Meaning all threads even if tagged as in the same verse for a muse are their own story and thread between our muses, this includes for relationships, unless its a story that has been discussed and plotted between all involved. We are also Crossover-friendly here! I love mashing up fandoms and seeing what happens!

5.) As stated in my first ruling, NSFW themes and topics may be present, if I feel that the topic, even if it’s gore and not sexual nsfw, is too heavy or unsafe to just have out on display I will always put it under a read more and tagged the triggers like; tw;______

6.) Continuing with the point above, I will not tolerate certain things like underage sexual content or abuse or any nsfw content with minors - this goes for muns & muses and hanging, if you are ever unsure of anything please ask me. This is also a if I ever forget or don’t tag something that is a trigger for you please just message me and I will tag them accordingly.

7.) Unless your muse has some supernatural abilities or in my muse’s canon knows things about them, please don’t use information that is like their weaknesses and things like that in our threads until my muse reveals them or it is revealed in a thread, I class this as meta rping/writing/gaming?? and it’s no fun???

8.) I’m okay with multiple writing styles, I don’t have the need for anyone to match my length in replies, I know I can get lengthy at times, but as long as it’s more than one sentence or is appropriate for the type of thread we are writing together, because sometimes even I just want to do shorter threads, though I do prefer more written and longer ones.

9.) I’m more into story driven threads, ones that develop my muses and yours hopefully, ones that develop a chemistry and relationship between them. These are the kinds of threads I prefer.

10.) I’m open to all plots and relationships, just come hit me up and let’s see what we can come up with!!!

11.) For shipping I am a shipper of chemistry, I am here for the development. But if you feel like our muses are beginning to develop something, please message me and we can talk. 14.) OOC =/= IC. I will not tone down my muses for anyone, but I don’t agree with their morals and choices all the time. OOC is not the same as IC.

i love oc's but it is damn hard to get them off the ground sometimes. even more so, i feel, when your fc is a person of color (all of my fc's are asian, for context) and that is why i go extra hard for original characters of color because i feel like they tend to get overlooked a little bit.

i think part of it is also because there are more resources for white actors than there are for people of color. of course nowadays there's more than there was in 2012 but still, it's probably easier to find resources for f/lorence p/ugh than for k/im a/dis.

i wonder about why it's so hard to get oc's off the ground sometimes, aside from the aforementioned things above. is it because people have certain expectations deep down inside that they haven't really challenged and maybe said expectations bleed over into the characters they write? "oh, your muse is asian so they'll only be soft and sweet and gentle and demure and nothing else," because that's often how we're portrayed in the west and it's easier to project that image onto others. we're either mathematical nerds or geniuses or soft, sweet people in need of rescue from our respective cultures.

(also for context: a white muse, written by a presumably white mun, once unloaded on one of my characters with, i feel, the unspoken expectation that my character would just give that muse advice and make that muse feel better in character. she didn't, she got angry, cussed and cried.)

that's also why i wrote udyati the way i did: she's got dyscalculia so she's not a mathematical genius; she was never that good at school stuff and sure, she may be a sweetheart but she can very much hold her own in combat.

and maybe other people are like: "that's got nothing to do with it; your fc is not why your oc gets overlooked - if you feel like your oc gets overlooked, you should be better at putting your oc out there."

i get that, i do, believe me, but i also do think it's a factor. at least, subconsciously.

part of it, i think, is also learning how to grow thicker skin. because not everyone will like your oc and not everyone will follow back and not everyone will give you the respect you give them.

sometimes you just have to cut your losses and move on.

i've been here for more than twelve years now and i've arrived at the point where i rb what i like, when i like because it's about having fun, regardless whether someone follows me back or not. we're out here playing virtual barbies, after all. so at the end of the day, it's not that deep. but people do forget sometimes, i feel, that there is another person behind the screen who put in a lot of time and effort to craft an original character from the ground up, a person who didn't have canon - whether it's books or a tv show or a movie - to fall back on.

honestly, i'm so happy to have found a circle of great friends that i write and vibe with across the board, but i also know how hard it is not to get discouraged when you reblog memes and nothing gets sent in, or when you write starters and they go unanswered so that's why i try to at least send in a headcanon question whenever i can / whenever inspiration strikes because i don't want anyone to feel left out.

but i can't be the first one to reach out, and send asks and write starters all the time. sometimes you need to be the first. and i know that's scary. i know a lot of people have anxiety, but sometimes it is up to you to step out of your comfort zone and make the first step. you can't expect others to make the first step all the time. it doesn't work like that; this is a two way street and a collaborative hobby, after all.

anyway, all that aside, at this point, i prefer writing oc's and minor characters that may as well be oc's because some of the best dynamics i've been fortunate enough to write out with friends came from those matchups (jedibeth; khiren; pollou/polloucil; harry x udyati) and because writing out those dynamics have been so healing to me.

i've grown up barely seeing myself represented on screen or in the pages of a book. i've never seen anyone that looks like me be a main character or a proper love interest, so it's nice that i can do that now - even if it's years down the line.

also, if you write an oc: i love you and send them over to me so i can ask headcanon questions (which, yes, is my love language).

it's almost new years and you guys have been there for me so much during this year so tonight I do want to make a post trying to recognize a lot of people within the community. My head is pretty fuzzy right now so I fear I'm gonna forget some folks, in which case I'm honestly genuinely very sorry, but know that so many of you have touched my life in a positive way. Since I wasn't fully around on Thanksgiving either, consider this my chance of telling you all that I'm thankful for you too.

Some of you may not see this. Either because you don't follow this blog or you've been offline for a while. But I hope even if you don't see this post you still are able to understand my feelings towards you.

At the moment I would prefer if people don't reblog this. I'm not the most comfortable with my out of character thoughts being spread around. However if you know someone in this but think they won't see it on their own you are welcome to link them to this. Also if you're mentioned in this and you REALLY want to save it, I guess I can't stop you from reblogging.

Ruler: It feels like anytime I'm in a rough spot you always have kind words for me. With how often you're in character I just deeply respect you always breaking it for me. You've helped me to feel safe in the community during a very difficult time. That means the world to me.

Annette-mun: I know we only met a year ago but you have become an incredibly close friend to me. Being honest, I rank you as one of my best friends. I have fun with all of the boardgames we play together as well as the connections we've made between a lot of our muses. I always want to recognize all the work you put in sending me those ask spams. I'm sorry that because of head stuff I haven't been able to answer most of the new set. It makes me feel as if I've failed to respect the effort that you have put in. But I hope some day in the future I can fix that. I'm very glad we're friends.

Vel: You're a really funny friend and I care about you a lot. I feel that sometimes I'm not sensitive enough to things that may bother you and worry I may have upset you at times in the past. If I have, I'm really sorry. You write Kyouko really well and your ocs are also quite fun. Thanks for letting me make Nagi. Sometimes you say things that make me feel you are self-concious about your blog and other things. So I just wanna reiterate that I am in your corner and here for you whenever you need.

Slap: I was shy towards you at first, I'll admit. It may not seem it but I'm kinda a shy person in general and I'm nervous to warm up to people, but I'm glad you joined the Touhou community. You're a really funny guy. I love reading your posts on my dash and now I also love playing the occasional game with ya. Your ability to do voice and to commit to bits is astounding. I'm really glad I met you.

Argo: You're someone who is always there for me. I really appreciate that. I left the Fate community for personal reasons years ago now. I'm very glad that, despite that, I still ended up meeting you. Because you've been such a good friend to me. I'm glad that you've gotten somewhat into Touhou because it gives us more room to interact. You've really been there when I've needed you. Often you apologize and say you don't do enough but you've done so much for me. You're special to me.

Hoche: Through all the struggles I've gone through you have been very supportive of me. You have been a level headed voice of support and advice. I think that if it were not for you I would have been worse off in many different circumstances. Aside from that you are a very talented writer. I find myself stunned by some of what I've seen you write. Thank you for everything you've done for me and for being my friend.

Zane: You always show me cool warhammer things and that's special to me. I also really like Nyalter. I love ocs in general, but I think you have done a phenomenal job in giving her a life and story that is uniquely hers. I find it to be quite inspirational and it really pushes me to work harder on my own original characters.

Amber: I have mentioned this before but you were the first person to welcome me into the community. That is always going to be special to me. During that period when you left I teared up a fair amount because it felt like things would always be so different with you gone. I'm very glad that you came back. I really like all your ocs. I'm glad Eri isn't gone but I'm also really happy to be seeing the opportunity for your other ocs to shine as well. They're all fun, but I'm particularly a fan of Anna.

Kay: You've given me some of the advice that has helped me the most when I have been in a bad spot. I can't thank you enough for that. You've stopped me from making really bad decisions. You've also just been a fun and supportive friend. I am very interested in your Reimu and the story arc you've created with the hakurei god.

Swigg: I know we haven't talked much lately. I think our schedules don't line up the best. But you recently mentioned trying to get back into Tumblr. I'll be very happy if you do. Your ocs are fun and you put a lot of love and care into the canon characters you write. I think you add a lot to the community.

Sethy: I didn't know it for a while but back in the Fate community I followed your arknights blog and admired you there. I'm super glad I have gotten the opportunity to meet you and to become your friend. I think that all the things you do are so cool. Like you're a vtuber that's incredible. I always wanted to stream but could never work up the courage. You also know the creators of all the walfas I love. I just think its so cool. You have such a history within the community. I know that you suffered a very bad tragedy this year. I don't believe I was in a good enough headspace at that time to have provided you with the support a friend should have given and I deeply regret that. I just hope you're doing well.

Noka: I think you're a real sweetie and also really funny. I'm glad to see you posting on your sfw blog a lot more again because I really love seeing you on my dash. I'm hoping that we can do a lot more threads in the future because its always fun to write our muses together.

Minnie: Maybe the only person with the same brain worms as me. I know that lately we have not talked much but I hope you are doing well. I just wanna say that I really love your art.

Aurora: My apprentice and buddy, hehe. I know I haven't been around much but I want you to know that I'm glad you decided to join the rpc. You're so full of ideas and kindhearted. You have such phenomenal oc ideas and have such a talent for making danmaku. I think someday you may be the centerpiece of the community.

Sats: We haven't spoken too often but like Amber you were one of the first folks to interact with me in the community. Alongside that I find your writing to be phenomenal. As are your headcanons. The work that you put in to research, especially on folklore, is just so inspirational. It drives me to want to learn everything I can.

Momi: Hey Momi. It's been a while since you've been around and I miss you a lot. I know we still message on discord occasionally so its not like I can't reach out to ya. But I just miss you being in the rpc a lot. You were such a great writer and always doing something fun. But I imagine you've got a whole bunch of difficult challenges ahead of you. I've heard the career you're pursuing is really rough. I hope that you're thriving in it though.

Sarience: You've always been a good pal to me. I have a lot of fun writing with Neka in both forms as well as your other muses. There's a lot of asks from you I haven't answered yet. I'm really sorry about that. It feels disrespectful. Still I hope to be able to do more in the future. Thank you for always being interested in interacting with my muses, even when I was very new and unestablished.

Kyo: I really really like everytime that I see you on my dash. You write your muses in such a fun and engaging way. I hope that we get to interact a lot more in the future. I also know you've started something new in the last few months, not gonna be specific since I'm not sure if you've shared that part of your personal life on Tumblr, but I wish you the best of luck at it. Ran: Ran I guess I just first wanna say I consider you a really good and special friend. When we've spoken you've often alluded to social anxiety and feeling like you've said embarassing things. So I want to restate that I've never been put off by what you've said and I love talking to you. As well as roleplaying and doing boardgames. I have so much fun pairing our muses up our causing wacky hijinks. I haven't seen you on your blogs much lately. Maybe I've just missed you but if not I hope you return to the rpc soon. Koi: I know I've not been around much lately but I hope that you're doing well. I've not really been in the headspace for horror lately but you're very good at bringing a unique horror flair to things.

Plumber: Hey we don't really personally know each other all that well but you're always making fun and wacky posts that I love to see on my dash. It feels like the rpc would be a lot less fun without you here. You also seem to be an incredibly kind person.

Kaali: A friend I've had for quite a while now but that I don't talk to enough. Sorry about that I'm just genuinely not the best with conversations. I have mad respect for all the work you put into your original characters and into your ideas. Like you really pull out all the stops.

Awoo: I've admired your ability to create interesting and fun original characters a lot. Several decisions I've made to develop my skills as a roleplayer have been inspired by you. I know you've had some mental health struggles of your own and I haven't heard from you lately so I hope you're doing alright wherever you are.

Sades: During some really difficult moments you were there for me when not many other people were. I'm always going to appreciate that. You're also the reason I got into Touhou. Which means that without you, chances are I woule not have met the vast majority of people here or found a community where I feel I belong.

Cobalt: I am always ecstatic when I see your posts on my dash. I love your Chen and think that you're a lot of fun. I have not been around much but when I have been I've seen you talking about things like not feeling you have much to do in the community. I can't make decisions for you but I do want to say that I think you are a fundamental piece of our rpc. I would be sad not having you here.

Teeps: I was shy about approaching you at first but you're incredibly cool. A lot of the fandoms you are in I'm not in but your posts get me interested in them anyways. Like I have no clue who that green sonic character is but you give her such an energy. I'm real glad to know ya. As far as the 2hu rpc goes you've been around a lot longer than me and I love hearing your own personal that you've developed.

Cait: I need to pop in and catch your streams more. I think that you're very cool to see on the dash. I especially love the way that you write your Sakuya. I really cherrish her interactions with my Reimu.

Sev: First of all. A while ago you sent me a very kind message wishing me well in my mental health struggles. I was not in the best place then so I did not appropriately respond. So thank you for that it truly meant a lot to me. I believe that you put a stunning amount of work into the characters you write, giving them so much detail and layers. Its inspiring and I just really want to appreciate you for it.

Hanafuda: You haven't been around much and last we spoke you alluded to a rough spot. So I hope if you ever see this that you're doing well. It was always fun having another Miko on the dash for mine to banter with. I also looked forward to seeing more of the other muses you played. Maybe someday you'll return.

Frozen: Everytime I see one of your posts it makes me smile. Honestly you've got some of the funniest jokes in the fandom. Some I don't get but I still feel they'd be hilarious if I got them. Also I have noticed you often commission art for other people. I find that to be a very sweet and kindhearted thing. So I consider you to be the heart of the community.

Fox: I don't know you very well but I've recently seen your multimuse popping up and it seems very fun. So I want to get to know ya in the future.

Chiru: We've not really spoken but I think you make some really great posts. Very well written headcanons and roleplays. So I just wanna say I'm always happy seeing you on my dash.

Draco: you're not in the touhou fanbase but you have been a long time friend. I haven't heard much from you lately so I hope you're doing well. I'm here if ya need me.

Sturm: I think that all your fairy posts are incredibly. You truly are a star of my dashboard. Hopefully someday we'll interact more. I'd like that.

Carp: Last I saw you were in a rough spot so I hope things are well now. You're newer to my dash but you seem very kind hearted and jovial. Also your ocs sre red as hell and go've got good face claim tastes.

Crim: You're a real cool friend with a lot of cool ideas. I love any interactions that our muses have together. Although my favorite is Kutaka/Eiki because it's somehow both a very obvious ship and yet a rare one. I think that they are very cute together. I also like the sisterhood of Reimu and Kisume. It's an unexpected but fun dynamic.

Mugenri-mun: I don't believe I know your screen name but you've been real supportive of me through my hardship and gave me a person to speak to. I would not be in as good a place without you. Also I'm glad someone is repping Len'en.

Kcmeiji & Closedheartedgirl: I wanted to note you both as you are both Komeiji blogs thay popped up and then disappeared while I've been got on hiatus. I just think that's a bit disappointing. The Komeiji are some of my favorites.

That's about all I have to say. It was kind of tough to word it all out but those are things I want y'all to know.

All the time LOL. Most often I unfollow unactive blogs, typically blogs that have been inactive for a year or damn near it. Why do I bother? Because sometimes I'll notice my dash is very slow and I'm like "daaamn I've got [this many] followers... how come nothin's happenin?" Then I realize oh wait, a lotta my mutuals became inactive lol. So softblocking them is a good way to gage how many active followers I actually have.

Other times I've unfollowed a blog just because I personally didn't vibe with the mun's ooc posts, or content they're putting out. Or, one time when somebody was just reblogging TOO many posts that were completely unrelated to their muse, and was just spamming the dashboard with unrelated fandom reblogs as if they were a personal or somethin. I don't mind a lotta ooc posts, but I do start drawing the line when my dash gets spammed with completely different fandom posts that aren't related to their muse in any way.

The most controversial time I unfollowed somebody, and this may kinda count as drama but not really, was this K.ingdom Hearts blog. For some reason, my Riddler blog took MONTHS to pick up. I mean, I had it for 4 months and couldn't get a single follow back or anything. I have no clue why - literally nobody wanted to write with me then. (Which is really bizarre, given that, I think at one point, it had 400 followers - many ppl started writing with me later). I'm gonna guess it's because my blog had dark themes / backgrounds. (I wrote my Eddie as a CSA survivor - this may be semi important later)

Anyway, a confession on one of 'em RP confession blogs was expressin' how sad they were that nobody was writing with them, I agreed with it too, also offering I'd write with 'em too. A KH blog came up to me and saying they were having the same problem. I was about to learn a big lesson in writing with them just 'cos I was sympathetic LOOOL. So basically I followed, and we kinda talked on and off for a couple weeks, we wrote a lil. But then their topics started getting ... weirder, horrible even.

Then suddenly, their posts got super fucking crazy. Like they BRAGGED about their tags were apparently QUOTES from the Columbine shooting and the Jamestown cult tragedy?! I didn't fuckin' know 'cos who would??? And like when I went to unfollow them, they were having a thread where the character casually threatens to rape his brother and it's like holy shiiiiiiiiiit. So of course, I hardblocked 'em for that clownery.

Unfortunately, I started getting anon hate on my blog (obvs from him). I got like 4 anon hates in a row - but I blocked the anon and well, that did that lol. Some of the anon hates were like "I thought you liked dark content..." and it's like yeah, when HANDLED WITH RESPECT LMAO. My character was written as a CSA survivor as a background, I don't actually write the fuckin' act out, it's just part of his story. And like, it's also there to show how male victims handle it, and how a lot of sexual abuse survivors tend to turn to hard drugs to cope with it. my BLOG HAD NOTHING THAT WAS GLORIFYING / USING TRUE CRIME SHIT & THEN HAVING MY CHARACTER THREATENING TO UGHGHHH. And like, I didn't call 'em out, didn't mention it on my blog. They can write whatever the fuck they want, I just don't want anything to do with that stuff lmao. So I blocked them.

Then I got one of their mutuals messaging me like "why did you block [user]? they thought you were good friends with them. they're really hurt :(" and it's like?? I kinda talked to them every now & then thru DMS, that's it. We never exchanged discords ffs, we were far from "friends" never mind good friends lmao. Also don't be wildin' on your dashboard, ppl are likely to become uncomfortable and unfollow.

As of May 2024 The Huntsville Community Collective (HCC) is officially an organization openly working in Huntsville...

Though this has been in the works since the first meeting was held, since then Sol has found a group of people to form an official resistance party in Huntsville. Above are their demands and beliefs which are now public. See under the cut for more information...

The founding members include: Ames Shehadi Delphi Tremaine Dorian Blackwell Floyd Blackward Lola Silvia Torres Louis Ryan Prudence Wheaton Samuel Ahn Sol Rowe Important to note: While Sol got the HCC off the ground he vehemently opposes that any hierarchy be put on the founding members of the group. They all do their part. That said, some may not have shared their involvement that's up to the mun/character. Sol is one of the vocal members and can easily be contacted/makes himself available. Does going to the meetings make me a member? Nop! You can be as involved as you'd like or just come for the free food and conversation. Sol makes himself available for anonymous requests and concerns as well (I'm sure they have a place for people to 'write-in' anonymously at the library/around town too). It is expected that you volunteer some time with them if you decide to be an actual member but everyones unique skills are valued and how you volunteer is up to you. What does the HCC do? Throw community pot lucks/meals, host community meetings, tutoring, organize food/clothing/supplies donation drop-offs, help with the maintenance/beautification of Huntsville, plan and discuss the logistics of the upcoming election, and otherwise makes moves towards the desired improvements of Huntsville's social health, well-being, and overall functioning that people have brought forward to them. What's been happening since the last meeting? -They been out and around hosting more community meetings and helping with the clean up from the plot drop. -They also are probably asking around and garnering interest in an election and who people in town trust/would be happy to have represent them. Not just for Mayor, but for the community leaders as well. -After Maverick gave him the idea, Sol is starting the process of getting a mural going someone on Main. If your character owns a business and you would be down with having some cool art on the side of it hit me up! -I'm also sure Sol has been trying to set up a meeting with the Mayor, who knows how that's going. I'm going to assume not well. While I don't think Sol has pulled out his megaphone yet, Mayor Haversham better answer his letters or he will be in front of town hall making a lot of noise!!!

BEST EXPERIENCE : ummm gee okay i cant just name one it turns out life is actually about the accumulation of small joys and not just a few big ones but every time i get in the car and listen to my music and go OH! RP PET PEEVES / DEALBREAKERS : im pretty chill for the most part i think like ive definitely mellowed out a lot over the past few years but. i gotta say it:

formatting. the over-formatting of everything is killing me. i cant read most peoples carrds. i dont even know how they read it, because of how insanely tiny the text is. eye strain colors, hard to see icons, weird fonts... i dont mind a little bit of formatting, naturally, like go girl give us everything, but its getting to the point of being genuinely frustrating that almost every new blog i encounter has me fighting for my life just trying to learn the important info. i have visual and neurological issues please lord im only seven

MUSE PREFERENCES: seconding cam on if the "when someones pulled a muse apart like the spaghettification of a star and then put them back together". its fascinating. i think the fun part about rp is that i get just as invested in my partners character and what they get out of each thread as much as i do mine, so when people sit there and talk about their ideas and meta and really dig into that thing like . WHOOO NOW WE'RE COOKING

PLOTS OR MEMES : I like both! I think memes are good to kick things off regardless, and I dont mind building off of it. I like to plot a lot ooc but more in a loosey-goosey kind of way; i really like to get to know other muns and their characters and also talking is just sort of how i think through things so its very helpful to me. i also just get a lot of ideas because these things live rent free in my head but to me a natural progression is more important than like, sticking to a script.

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES : i write insanely long replies because i have things wrong with me. theres NEVER any pressure to length match-- a lot of the time im just doing it to establish exposition or setting so the other person finds it easier to work with. just give me something i can work with and we are a ok :D

BEST TIME TO WRITE : it really depends... i typically end up writing in the evening/afternoon because of my schedule. i think the biggest thing is that i work on weekends, so you may only hear from me ooc on those days. im also really trying to fix my sleep schedule.........to varying levels of success. sometimes the thread is too good

New Year's Resolutions: RP Edition

Howdy all, Ash here. I've been having a think while with family this week, and I've decided I'm going to implement some new 'resolutions' to try and help make writing in 2024 be way more successful than in 2023. This will include things from the running of blogs to jobs I really want to get finished. I'm putting them under a read-more to keep the dash nice and clean.

I will say, this has taken me an hour to write up, and I'd recommend you doing likewise if you think there's little ways you want to improve.

Overall Running of Blogs

I'm going to experiment a new approach to running the blogs. For this, I'm going to put all active blogs to low-medium activity. In other words, even if I am personally lurking on mobile, I won't be constantly writing things if I'm not able to. (Work is just about to get super busy and I'm anticipating chaos)

A queue/schedule function will be used for all blogs. I intend to dedicate one weekday evening to working without interruption on replies. Taking commutes to the city and family visits into account, this is looking to be a Thursday, which is the only day I am neither travelling to the city nor have a guaranteed family visit. Of course, this may fluctuate, but that's what I'm hoping to work with, assuming those things stay as they are.

However! What all this means is that I am going to tentatively take skullandbowties off hiatus. With that blog being quiet, it should be possible to juggle it better now. Plus, it's officially off-season so the demand for him from new blogs ought to be low. I'm very smart :D

I also plan to update all pinned posts. I am aware some of them are marking a vacation from months ago.

Individual Blog Maintenance

Create "New Here?" posts to add to the pinned posts/info tags. This is going to be a very quick crash course on what to expect from the blog, especially where some characters might diverge from fanon expectations.

FINISH. WILF'S. BIO. It's not actually relevant to anything being written on the blog itself at present, but I really want to flesh out his character and show that he was stuck in stories for years, decades even! The doc has the word count to 4,888 at this precise moment. This is a mix of summary and brainstorm. Since it's getting a 'little' out of hand, I intend to have a 'tldr' at the start that people can read, and then longer versions if they're curious to get the full story. Maybe even have it that they can jump to particular parts but... I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Likewise, Noah's version of Space needs to be finished. This one is going to be a summary, but it's a case of making sure the pieces are in place sufficiently to have parts match canon Space, but also make it clear that there is a lot of differences between canon and what he went through, with his plot entirely spiralling away for 'Part 2'. This is at 5,794 words, and the ending has yet to be ironed out...

(I am going to stop creating needlessly long-winded projects for myself that realistically add nothing of value to my blogs. These two projects are exhausting...)

Theauthorlives is returning to a very small multimuse. Any muses that aren't ones I genuinely enjoy writing are being fully archived, unless they are muses that get no traction but I want to keep the possibility open. Details of that will be shared when I do this.

Redo some muse icons (not all of them!). Though the selection I have for particular sets is a lot, I still feel like I'm missing some expressions or poses. I would like to remake one batch of icons for three characters, and finish iconning a third. Replies seem to be shifting toward iconless, but I like them for asks or IC commentaries.

OOC/Mun Related stuff

Following matters that have happened both online and IRL, I've decided to take a step back from actively engaging with people. My focus will be people that I have been in good communication with for the last twelve months (as well as people I don't talk to frequently but am on friendly terms with) rather than people I feel I have to 'chase' after. Saying that, I'm going to try and not let past experiences meddle with anything in with new writing partners - whether these are brand new to the community or people I've not had the chance to properly interact with prior to this. Just be aware that I might not be super outgoing at first. (This is where setting limits and boundaries is good practice, everyone! Don't sell yourself short, and don't spread yourself out too thinly!)

Which is where I now say I want to send even more asks! Not just memes or sentence starters, but general questions about headcanons or muse opinions. I want to get people thinking more.

My stance on Discord still stands, in that it's solely for OOC stuff, but I'm not giving it out to everyone. However, I have been in two group servers that have little-to-no connection with writing rp threads in them. I would hope that I can fully regain my sense of comfort using Discord as a whole.

Art related

Despite socially stepping back, I still want to keep some semblance of 'community' where my blogs are active so people don't feel isolated. For instance, I want to do something that encourages invasions of ask boxes. That was good fun to watch as the chaos began to spread, and when people are good-humoured to go along with my silly ideas.

I want to have one huge art-related event at some point this year. I'm not entirely what or how to do it, but I think it would be a great excuse to practice something. Portraits, comics, something like that. I'll have a think. (For those who remember, the water gun event was supposed to have an art conclusion but plans for that fell through.)

I want to try and upload drawn responses to heythereneighbor once a week if I can. Obviously, this is depending on how busy it is.

I'd also like to try doodling more on other blogs? But I'm not sure if this is even something people want to see anymore. People might prefer I focus on writing if I have free time instead of doodles or little comics.

... the writing blog. I need to do stuff with that in general. Whoops.

Finally, I want to do what I can to the best of my abilities on a particular day. I've always told people over the years that real life comes before rp, and I still stand by that. Whether I'm around or not every day isn't the end of the world. The communities I write in are a lot slower paced than they were when I started, which is great! I need to remind myself that I don't need to be writing just because I have a bit of free time.

Belated Munday: what do you like in fellow RPers? What turns you off of writing with other muns?

I LOVE when fellow rpers take a character and make it theirs, especially when it is a canon muse. They fill a muse with unique traits and habits, really build and show why their muses are the way they are. They let a muse have flaws and imperfections that they must work through to grow. The more facts and headcanons I read about a character the more I can really see the love and time an rper is putting into them. Even imagery and aesthetics can tell a lot about a muse. I love a fellow rper whose agenda is to share their muses story, to see how their world may tangle or flow with mine. The more natural the better.

Which leads into some of my irks/turn offs. Trauma dumping and throwing your muses horrible backstory at mine right off the bat, especially if we are rping together for the first time, is gonna kill the vibe right from the start. My muse doesn’t know yours!! Not unless we’ve discussed in DM’s and actually plotted this. I know it’s a tactic for “oh you poor dear. Let me love and protect you and help you.” Nope. Nu uh. Especially if your muse is a Sinner. Lucid is sweet and kind and wears his heart on his sleeve, but starting something off heavy like that is gonna make him slip away and book it. I don’t go up to a complete stranger and introduce myself with something tragic irl, I would not expect the same in rp unless it was plotted out first between us in DMs.

Another extreme when first meeting is outright attacking my muse. Angels and demons don’t get along, I totally get that. However threatening and physically harming my character right from the start is not going to encourage him to stick around and get to know your muse. Lucid rarely fights back, it’s in his bio. Traumatizing or attacking my muse is preferred to discuss in DMs first, which is stated in my rules. People get upset when I do not readily pick up a thread with them again afterwards and I go “What reason has your muse given mine to want to interact again? To not run away the moment they see yours and go “Ohshit that’s the stranger that outright assaulted me.” I am a firm believer in “Actions have consequences”, and it sticks in my rp threads. If you want to have a future positive interaction with my muse after assaulting them, you better have a game plan to suggest in DMs. I can throw some suggestions maybe, but I’m not that rper. That’s not my character, and I’m not about to force them to go OOC or god-mod them. And same with my muse, I’m not about to make them react ooc either.

Basically it comes down to communication. Communicate with me in DMs what you are envisioning. If you have OCs and are approaching me to rp, tell me about them! Offer some suggestions on how/where our muses might meet. I can certainly read their bio but hearing what the other person has in mind helps tremendously! Pulling teeth for info or being the one to come up with a whole scenario for a muse I know nothing about can be more stressful than fun.

Be sure to read my rules and respect those rules, particularly when it comes to violence and romance (that’s a whole nother thing I can rant about. Chemistry and compatibility is key and that is through multiple rp threads before even considering a ship).

"Panda, Bli and Scotty", Vi said like a shot, "They are the first three Muns, Miss T would think about when it comes to recommending anybody. I am gonna start with explaining why Scotty first, simply because they are the outlier if we go by fandom." Vi pursed her lips and ruffled a hand through her magenta bangs.

"Scotty - or as their URL on Tumblr says @countlessrealities - has been one of Miss T's oldest roleplaying partners and buddies", Vi explained, "They have been rping together since Miss T's Good Omens' days, so that's at least a couple years by now. During that time, Miss T tried out many different fandoms and muses and Scotty was always by her side. For Miss T, that is a sign of a good friendship.

"On the rp related note, Miss T also just likes how Scotty writes. Even if she does not know much about Rick and Morty, she can appreciate the passion and creativity, Scotty puts into their work. Much like Miss T, Scotty is a storyteller and world builder. Those are traits, she really likes in a writer. And Scotty is very good at depicting the unique quirks - including speech patterns - in their characters. Plus Rick and Morty just create a very unique rping dynamic by being who they are. Sure, getting used to them takes a bit, but you gotta appreciate the nuances, Scotty pulls off."

"Miss T knows Bli, whom you will know as @jynxd, the shortest so her wanting to recommend her says a lot." Vi tsked in bemusement. "Like by Janna, they bonded quickly. Come to think of it: That ain't really a surprise. Miss T and Bli both are incredibly dark in their narrations and muses. They think scarily similar. They basically love to make stuff really bad for the muses in question, which sucks. At the same time, Miss T clearly enjoys bouncing ideas off with them. Bli was the first person to suggest some ideas for Zaun, which Miss T actually did not shut down."

She flexed her fingers and tested the puffer effect of her Atlast gauntlets. Vi admitted: "I can't blame her for it though. Miss T put a lot of work into the way her Zaun affects all of us. She became very protective over it due to this. So the fact that she allowed Bli to suggest things and found them fitting... Again, that just shows that Bli knows what Miss T is going for. Something, she deeply appreciates."

"Outside of that, Miss T also is in awe at Bli's writing. She loves how detailed and varied it is. She adores how layered each of Bli's characters is. My sister has grown ridiculously attached to Bli's Silco, much to my chagrin. I can't fault her for it though. After Miss T got ousted, she very much didn't have a proper Silco for my sister, so the fact that Bli began writing that two-faced asshole makes her very happy. Just as Miss T's Silco clearly has affections for Bli's Jinx. At least, Ekko has his head in the right spot. If he ain't high on Shimmer."

Vi's smile merged into a chuckle as she admitted: "Panda, whom you know as @ferinehuntress, share a history together and that shows a lot. They have been through some quite rough bullshit and they were each other's rocks through some really turbulent times. Those experiences glued them stronger together than most roleplay partners. I ain't exaggerating when I say that Panda is one of Miss T's best friends on this side and they are incredibly close for an online friendship."

Vi's eyes drifted into the distance as she recounted: "Miss T was originally drawn to Panda because of how well she wrote. Her writing style made Miss T really excited, even if back then, she didn't care much for Caitlyn. I am not sure who followed whom first, but Miss T actually allowed me to get to know a Caitlyn. I am not exaggerating when I say that without Panda and her Cupcake, I wouldn't even really be here. Sure, I may have been a muse, but I would have been not nearly as strong as I am nowadays. Plus, Panda got Miss T excited about shipping me and Cait. Which is pretty unusual as she is more a fan of toxic and dark ships."

"Panda's world-building is no small feat", Vi concluded, "They have some of the most creative lore and headcanons the Mun has ever seen. Their Piltover is very much what Miss T envisions nowadays whenever she thinks about Piltover. It ties into her version of Zaun far too well. That amazing world-building is backed up by characters, which are just as complex and nuanced and beautifully constructed. Miss T can talk with Panda about so many creative things and she never gets tired of it."
