Multishipper here (though with a strong tendency towards Buddie). As such I've seen enough from both sides of the shipping war to be annoyed with both, which is totally fun... It made me want to quit the fandom because people are crazy.
I totally agree with your previous post that some BTs take it too far by completely rewriting what happened in canon because it doesn't fit their version of Tommy. It's fun to play in sandboxes - there doesn't need to be more to it. Harassing other people about your ship is never okay.
But there are some people on the Buddie side who aren't much better. I get that not everybody is a multishipper. That's cool. If you can't stand the idea of Buck being with Tommy you have the option to filter out that content. No one is forcing you to interact. But it's like for this particular subset of fans you're either 100%-anti-BT or you're the enemy. Like, hating on a Buddie author who wrote one(!) BT fic and saying "we lost them to the other side" just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
What happened to the good old "live and let live"?
Honestly, there are awful people everywhere, it's the internet, I have been blocking this type of buddie shipper too, like, I don't think enjoying the ship is some great moral flaw, I personally don't see the appeal and enjoy picking fights when people try to tell me I'm not allowed to do that, or just make fun of the people who took it too far from the safety of this blog, or just try to dissect the way he acts because it's fun and I like the discussions that we can have about him, but I agree it's bullshit to expect people to exclusively ship buddie, it goes both ways, yk, we can't demand anything from anyone else, I filter as much content as I can and honestly, more people should do that and play on their own sandbox without expecting everyone else to agree, but well, that would be expecting too much from fandom as whole.
