The Cantor Family

So I've already touched briefly on the Celestial gods in my WIP book Byoldervine, but there's one royal godly family that's bigger than all the others; the Cantor family, who rule the realm of Tyrion

First off, we have King Aegis Cantor, God of Order. Aegis has been referred to by his children as a workaholic and if he's not found in his meeting room or out attending to other business then he's got his nose to the grindstone in his study. He does his best to get his children involved in his work as well, expecting them to attend meetings and functions whenever he requests

Anessa Cantor, at twenty-five years old, is the first born child of Aegis and the heir to the throne of Tyrion. Anessa is a rather quiet person with a strong desire to live up to her father's expectations of her. Aegis has been preparing her all her life to one day succeed him and take up the throne - though Anessa doesn't quite understand why this is the case, considering her father is an immortal god. She secretly wonders if he's grown afraid after the death of his fellow Celestial, Byoldervine, though she wouldn't dare to mention it to him. What Anessa lacks in empathy she makes up for in sympathy and compassion, and she does her best to rule justly and fairly, despite appearing rather stoic at times

Lazulai Cantor is twenty-three years old and, unlike her older sister, is very emotionally-inclined and expressive. She's naturally curious about the world around her, and adores reading and learning about Paracosm and all the fantastical beings there. Aegis brings Lazulai with him whenever he needs to stop by Paracosm, and Lazulai has grown quite close with Nordsvark, who is always happy to share stories about all his creations. If Lazulai were able to do anything with her life, it would be to explore all of Paracosm and discover all the secrets and sensations it had to offer

Sy Cantor is twenty-one years old and identifies as non-binary, though they haven't told Aegis yet and try to hide it from him. Sy can be very lax and informal compared to their siblings, even a little rebellious at times, and is a regular at the Ampitheatre, a sort of opt-in school their best friend Persephone volunteers at and used to attend herself. Sy is very passionate about fashion design and is often working on new pieces or window-shopping at their favourite fabric shop. Sy also doesn't have the best relationship with Aegis; he was the one who insisted they attend as many classes at the Ampitheatre as possible, though he doesn't expect the same of his other children, and unlike the other three he never takes Sy to the other realms on business. The reason why Sy hasn't told Aegis about being non-binary isn't because they believe he'll be mad - that's not really a thing in Tyrion - but because they already believe that Aegis loves them less than he does their siblings and so they don't want to take big risks on how Aegis might percieve them

Mullo Cantor, aged nineteen, is a rather cold and standoffish person who is very aware of his status as the only prince of Tyrion. He doesn't appreciate others telling him what to do, even if it's someone more knowledgeable on a subject than he is, which makes him a struggle to deal with at times when he attends lessons at the Ampitheatre. For all the grief he gives, however, his tutor has noticed just how intelligent he really is; Mullo is incredibly studious, though he expects nothing less than instant perfection from himself, and the idea of trial and error is a dangerous concept to him. Mullo largely attends meetings with the Acaron family in Nexus, aka the realm of the dead, when Aegis requests his company. Mullo very much enjoys attending work meetings with Aegis, and has grown very intrigued by Nexus and how it operates, though he doesn't much get along with its crown prince and heir to Corrus Acaron's throne

Kwami Fusion AU

After a lot of thought and consideration, I’ve finally decided to make my own Ladybug AU. And in this AU, the main heroes are Dragon Bug and Snake Noir! And all of the heroes that regularly appear aren’t single wielders; they’re all fusion wielders!

Headcanons time!

The story, for the most part, is the same, just with the kwami fusions listed above

Adrien’s hair stays out in this AU because hair rubs/ear scratches from Dragon Bug

He has a black and teal hoodie on his suit instead of the full mask (he has a regular Chat mask on too); the cat ears stick out through holes on the top of said hoodie

Gabriel wants ALL the Miraculouses in this AU. Not only is he seeking to bring back his wife, but he seeks ultimate power as well.

Its a plot point that Emilie was also evil in this AU. She tried to achieve the ultimate power, but it put her into a coma.

Master Fu guards the Ox with his life, as it is his key to keeping his strength in his old age (and the key to his old age also).

In dire emergencies where they can’t afford to wield both at once, Luka and Kagami are backup Snake and Dragon single wielders

The whole class are backup single wielders as well; they’re only contacted in the most difficult battles

Ivan is Master Fu’s personal choice for the Ox backup 

Snake Noir calls Dragon Bug My Bug, Dragaboo, and M’lady, and still refers to Marinette as Princess

Dragon Bug calls Snake Noir Kitty, Snek, and Scalie. He pretends to be offended by the last one but he not

She sprays him with a Water Dragon if he’s being silly and she’s feeling like a tease

She can’t tell whether its his Cat or Snake side that just hissed at her

He’s a lot more loved and supported in this AU. He and Marinette become friends quicker, he has the Boy Squad, Nathalie isn’t evil and tries her best to be supportive, the Gorilla is just himself, etc.

Alix is a closeted musical lover - you can imagine this all changes when she becomes Rambit. The girl sings and dances like, all the time (Queen Heart will never admit she’s blushing). Why else do you think she has an umbrella as a weapon?

Speaking of Queen Heart, Daizzi helps Chloe be nicer - or at the very least, try to

Multifox and Turtledove are very competitive. This doesn’t change after they’re revealed to one another

Kim getting the Monkey and Tiger at the same time. I’ll let you guess where that goes

Cantor has TWO boomerangs - his horseshoe and a literal boomerang that came with the Dog

Max literally becomes the most loyal person ever because of his two Miraculouses. Dogs and Horses are almost always loyal wielders.

Anessa usually wears white or other light pastel colours, and wears dresses and simple jewellery befitting her status as heir to the throne

Personality

Aegis has been training Anessa for rule all her life, and Anessa has taken it all in stride. She’s adopted her father’s patience and strategic mindset, as well as his keenness for order and organisation. She can come off as a little stoic at times, but she’s confident in herself and her decisions. Out of all her siblings, she’s probably the best at admitting to a fault or mistake, but this is partially due to her having the most ease with spotting and correcting them without getting frustrated in herself. This is where Aegis and Anessa differ; she’s able to accept it more easily when things don’t go to plan and keep a level head that allows her to swiftly find a new solution, whereas it would greatly upset Aegis unless he had a backup plan already prepared

Backstory

Anessa has been raised to be the future queen for as long as she can remember, and honestly doesn’t know much outside of this predetermined path she’s on. It’s left her quite sheltered in terms of the general world around her, something all her siblings have to some extent but aren’t nearly as restricted as Anessa is. Due to this, she’s struggled to find interests outside of her training and studies.

Anessa is additionally sheltered in that she rarely gets to go on business trips away from Tyrion, since Aegis will take either Lazulai or Mullo depending on his destination, leaving Anessa to rule in his absence. Anessa feels some jealousy about that, even if she understands it logically and is happy that it means her siblings get time with Aegis too

Anessa has always been the golden child of the family, and all the siblings except for her are well aware that she’s the favourite. Anessa knows she gets the most of Aegis’ time, but believes it’s purely down to her needing more training than the others since she’s his heir. She can’t fathom why she’d be the favourite when it’s brought up to her since she finds the others so much more interesting than her - why would she be favoured as the boring one?

Despite her life’s work and purpose being to prepare to be queen, the idea of it is quite frightening to her; it would mean that something had happened to her father, and she loves Aegis dearly. It worries her how sure he is that she’ll soon be queen, and she’s concerned about his health due to it, but she’s largely brushed it off as just another of his plans that she’s not entirely privy to

• Anessa was born in the year 2000, the same year that Byoldervine died

• Anessa mostly tries to copy what her siblings do when she spends time with them; she doesn’t know much of what else to do with others

• Anessa is content with being the future queen, and there’s no doubt that she’d make a good one, but her complacency in her role is definitely impacted by her lack of other options; she’ll be happy as queen, but she has no idea if there’s something else out there or not that would make her happier

He always wears white suits with either black or gold detailing - the Picrew is pretty much perfect for how I’d imagine it. His appearance is almost always symmetrical and as perfect as he can get it

Personality

Aegis, as his title would suggest, values order above all else, working hard to maintain peace and security across his realm. This can be taken to extremes at times, which can impact his relationships for better or for worse; the difference between unflinchingly practical and coldly detached can be as simple as whether or not he’s acting in your interests. He can become very agitated and distressed when things don’t go to his plans, though he tries his best to keep his composure when around others. Additionally, Aegis is very prideful, wanting to show off his realm and his children as the wonderful, perfect creations they are.

Backstory

Aegis has ruled over Tyrion since its creation, leading with a firm hand to instil perfection upon his new world. Within Tyrion there is peace, prosperity and order. Aegis had previously attempted to extend this order to the other realms as well, sending his angelic forces to provide blessings and grant protection to the inhabitants of other realms, though this was shut down quickly by Byoldervine and never garnered much interest from the other two realms, who had their own means of magical interventions

When Byoldervine passed away, Aegis was the one to push through the grief and keep his fellow Celestials going. He formed the Guardians to infiltrate Terran and live amongst the humans so that they could respect Byoldervine’s wishes to keep the humans separate from the other realms and their inhabitants. To this day the Guardians work in secret to disguise magical or otherworldly activity from the humans

It wasn’t long at all after Byoldervine’s death and the formation of the Guardians that Aegis had his children, who he now works to train to be future rulers of Tyrion

Fun Facts

• Aegis has had a long string of lovers in the past, but has never married. Some theorise that Aegis has never found the perfect partner, despite looking. As a result, none of Aegis’ children have the same mothers, though another theory is that Aegis asked Nordsvark to create the perfect children for him rather than them being born through biological means, which would explain why none of the four children have ever met another parent

• While many people believe that Aegis kept having children until he got a son, in truth Aegis has wanted exactly four children for a good while now; it’s all part of his life plan

• Aegis absolutely hordes notebooks and stationary, I can’t imagine him not having the most extravagant and neatly organised collections in the universe

Sy is a very snarky person, never shying away from saying exactly what they think of people or making witty comments at their expense. They also care a lot about their appearance and have a high opinion of themself, their self-confidence something that many people admire. Ultimately, though, Sy is well-meaning and keen to show their best self

Despite all this, they act much differently when around Aegis, focusing much more on trying to appease him and be the perfect ‘daughter’

Backstory

Sy has always enjoyed experimenting with their appearance and how they expressed themself, even when they were young. This lead to an interest in hair, makeup and fashion, and later to their pursuit of creating their own clothing

Sy often feels like the forgotten child amongst their siblings, who Aegis is always taking away for meetings or training to be queen one day while he simply sends Sy off to the Amphitheatre for as many lessons as they can possibly attend. While Sy is mostly very open about their identity, they keep it a secret from Aegis to avoid rocking the boat with him any further - they may be a little bitter about Aegis’ apparent lack of interest in them compared to their siblings, but that doesn’t mean that Sy doesn’t want to still have that relationship with him and to prove themself worthy of that attention

Fun Facts

• Sy has been working on their fashion designs for years now and often wears their own designs. Their sisters sometimes wear Sy’s designs as well, and on multiple occasions Sy has bribed Persephone into modelling for them while they make adjustments

• Sy’s favourite place in the world is a local fabric shop. Sy could stay there for hours feeling all of the different fabrics and holding them up to see how they look in different lighting

• Sy has a small crush on Persephone, but knows that she’s asexual and so doesn’t want to say anything (they’ve considered the homoromanticism but concluded that they don’t count into that since they’re not a girl)

Corrus is physically the strongest of the four Celestials, and it shows in his muscles and tall, broad build. He has black hair that he keeps cut just above his neck - you know he plans to get it cut soon when he wears turtlenecks to keep the hair from brushing his neck. In his human form, he has fair skin and green eyes, but he often prefers to be in his Nexus form, where his skin turns red and his eyes turn golden with black sclera. He also grows horns and a tail in this form

Personality

Corrus is a polite and welcoming person on the surface, and when he’s more comfortable around you he’s very friendly and helpful. He enjoys giving things to those he cares about and spending time with them, so many people consider him to be very generous. He has a curiosity about humans just as the other gods do, but unlike them he knows that the humans will come to him eventually and so he has learned the art of patience and allowing events to play out naturally without his intervention

• Soul magic - like all dealmakers, Corrus has the ability to create contracts of great power, the dealmaker usually taking the other party’s soul in return. The ownership of souls grants them additional magic abilities that can be used later on in order to achieve more soul deals

Backstory

Corrus rules over the underworld realm of Nexus, where he rules over the dead and the undead alike. He has thousands of souls under his command, but is known as a fair and generally hands-off ruler

At first Corrus would collect dead souls personally, but this was often a very frightening experience for the humans, and as populations grew it became too big a job for one man. John Grim, one of the human souls working for him, helped him to come up with the idea of Reapers, and volunteered to oversee their creation and function. With John leading the soul-collecting Reapers, he became known as the Grim Reaper by his workers, and Corrus enchanted the scythe he’d forged for himself. The scythe later became known as the Reaper’s scythe, and after John retired and Reapers were largely made obsolete by the Barghests, John gave the scythe to Corrus as a parting gift

Corrus later had a son, Clay, who was very fragile when he was born, and so Corrus went to Nordsvark to have life breathed back into the infant. Corrus has loved Clay from the very start and would do anything to protect him and ensure he remains happy and healthy, though it was clear he would never be the strongest boy. Corrus instead focuses on nurturing Clay’s interests and intellect, spoiling his son with books and lessons and activities and anything else Clay has ever shown so much as a curiosity towards

When Persephone began to appear in the palace at nine years old, Corrus was shocked and began working to understand why this was so. After discovering the answer, he made sure to look out for the girl whenever she showed up - and when that became too frequent for comfort, he called in a favour with Ellegaarde and John to ask that they convince the girl’s grandparents to let Ellegaarde take Persephone to ‘boarding school’, aka the Ampitheatre, so that she could be in the care of a mentor who knew how to look after kids and would also be able to help her understand her immortality and be a listening ear who believed her on it

Fun Facts

• Corrus is the biggest sponsor of the Ampitheatre, not including what he pays Ellegaarde for Persephone’s care and board. Aegis doesn’t know who it is, but he knows that someone else pays more towards that school than he does, and he secretly hates it

• Corrus has alexithymia, but has very strong emotional responses to books or movies. He’s an absolute sucker for sappy romances because he likes how they give him so many feelings

• When Persephone was going through her Greek mythology phase, she ended up getting Corrus invested too. He’s pissed off by the Percy Jackson movies for not being accurate to the books. He would love EPIC: The Musical

As both the youngest child of Aegis Cantor and his only son, Mullo believes that his father wanted to keep trying for a son, and as such he believes that he’s Aegis’ favourite child. Aegis would always bring Mullo to Nexus with him for business meetings with Corrus, and through this Mullo has met Clay, the only other son of a god within the four realms and the only godly child outside of his own family. Mullo wanted badly to impress Clay, though Clay doesn’t have much interest in him and honestly finds him annoying

Mullo additionally cares deeply about impressing his father and keeping his favour and attention. He’s taken on a lot of hobbies in the past to try and prove his worth, leading him to seek constant productivity and feeling lazy when he’s not doing something. He always makes sure to finish his first project, usually out of sheer stubbornness more than anything, but after that many hobbies get discarded due to their difficulty. For the most part he studies the laws and cultural practices of the different realms, which he believes will boost his chances of Aegis giving him the throne over Anessa as he believes he could be a better king and deserves it over her as the only son

When he’s between hobbies or can’t find anything else to do, Mullo takes a class or two at the Ampitheatre to study glyph magic under Ellegaarde. He secretly enjoys going due to Ellegaarde’s encouragement and praise, but he’d never admit to it. However, he doesn’t enjoy the theory lessons since he already has a technical understanding of glyph magic, so he only attends practicals - often resulting in the magic backfiring and causing harm to himself or others. Aegis has had to pay for damages many times due to Mullo’s incidents. Mullo’s scars are mostly from these events. He also hates that this means Persephone often hovers close by when he’s got a spell tag of any kind to ensure that he doesn’t have any problems. Unfortunately for him, her lingering often causes him to try and show off just how competent he is… which, again, backfires

Fun Facts

• Mullo doesn’t know that Sy is non-binary, he just thinks that they use Sy as a nickname. It caused Sy a great deal of stress when he first started calling them that, thinking someone had outed them to him and that he might tell Aegis

• Mullo, despite believing himself to be the favourite child, is more so the problem child in the eyes of his siblings due to his rudeness and lashing out. At times they can all get along, but in general he can be difficult to spend time with, especially when Sy gets to see their brother crashing the Ampitheatre and causing frequent problems for Ellegaarde and Persephone

• Mullo once found Sy and Lazulai playing a game together and learned it was called Minecraft. He played religiously for a year before he found out it was a human game that Sy had learned about from Persephone, at which point he swore to never play again… though he still does in secret

I just want to say thank you to everyone that’s been joining in with the polls so far, writing all these info pages is really helping me to flesh out some of my characters that needed it. Personality

Lazulai is a very sweet and empathetic person who is also engrossed with the arts; everything fascinates and intrigues her and her optimistic side often shines through here, with her being the most bubbly and extroverted of her siblings. Her curiosity and creativity drew her to Nordsvark, who nurtured her love of stories and inspired her to come up with her own worlds and stories, albeit purely fictional ones. Out of all the characters, Lazulai is definitely the most ‘Disney princess’ out of all of them

Backstory

Lazulai is the second-born to Aegis Cantor, and as such is second in line to the throne of Tyrion. While Aegis has still made a point of preparing her as a precautionary heir, he strongly respects her disinterest in ruling Tyrion and has encouraged her fascination with Paracosm and Nordsvark’s creations, combining her training with her interests by involving her in all his business regarding Nordsvark and Paracosm

Lazulai has always been content with her life in the palace, spending her days reading, writing or wandering the gardens. One of her favourite pastimes, however, is to sit with Sy while they both work on their creative projects, especially when one can inspire the other. With Mullo being disinterested in spending time with his siblings and Anessa often being busy with preparing for rule, Sy is often the one she turns to for family time
