Things in the CUPHEAD SHOW that if they were canon to inky mystery I would die of joy
- elder kettle. Just the Cuphead show version is just beautiful. Crazy war veteran right there everybody!! (I know elder kettle IS inky mystery, but the Cuphead show version is nuts and I love it)
- you CAN drink from mugman's and Cuphead's heads. They showed it multiple times (they showed Cuphead and mugman dipping cookies into each other's head too!)
- Cuphead and mugman's heads are detachable, and can work without heads (plus they can also spin! Like Bendy's!)
- just, Cuphead's and mugman's little accents. I love 'em.
- "eh, I ain't too worried about it." Iconic Cuphead phrase
- cala maria clear love for her career, now in the show she isn't interested in romance, but in inky mystery she can have the most badass career and have a cute little mug boyfriend. Also her Greek accent. Beautiful.
- the devil. His accent. The way he talks. I just need him to be the cunty motherfucker he is in the show, alright? (He could be acting scary to give the "king of hell" vibe too, in inky mystery.)
- henchman. Love that guy. And the devil clear liking to the guy.
- king dice's show, roll the dice. It would be a nice touch, since it steals souls.
- Cuphead whole "troublemaker at heart, but he means well" because it matches Bendy's "mischievous little devil, but he means well!"
- mugman descending into insanity
- we need more brotherly mischief and chaos both from the cup bros and bendy and Boris. They get along too well or fight too seriously. as an older sibling, I demand both Cuphead and bendy to be absolute bitches to their younger siblings.
- Cuphead being a "show-off", matches with Bendy's love of getting attention to himself.
- mugman stage fright.
- Cuphead being humble and not being mad that he loses sometimes.
- Cuphead's small greed for money (he probably will do anything if anyone says they'll give him ten bucks.)
- Cuphead great aim.
- whenever mugman goes from silly boy voice to the most masculine voice, ever.
- Cuphead can play the piano, mugman cannot and he's extremely jealous at times.
- mugman swordsmanship skills
- Cuphead dosen't like funnel cake
- MUGMAN CROSSDRESSING WITHOUT PROBLEMS.
- mugman perfectionism
- mugman being a great observer

Cuphead Headcanons: Inkwell Hell Edition
Inkwell Hell is here! sorry i took so long.it took a lot of brainstorming. let’s get started. i’ll be doing the cupbros and npc’s in a separate post.
King Dice: Probably the most popular character in the fandom. this fancy motherfucker is better than you and he knows it. you know that guy who’s acts gay but insists he’s straight. This is the guy. he’s a master at pretty much every form of gambling, and is actually a huge board game fan. His personal favorite is monopoly since it involves gambling and risk if you play the right way. Loves loves loves any shade of purple but royal purple is his go to. Has had sex but is a little afraid of commitment. if cuphead was a tv show, this dude would be get the biggest character arc, besides maybe Cuphead and Mugman themselves. wears make-up and rocks it. slay king slay. if you need fashion or makeup advice, this is the guy to come to. you just have to give him something in return. as a human, he’d be that kind of suave black guy you can ALWAYS find in either Vegas or New Orleans. can and will charm the pants off you just for a quick payday. but don’t think he doesn’t care about some, because he does. he regularly makes sure the Devil does his work, helps translate for Pachinko, Chips, Pirouletta, and Wheezy when they get too angry and they start talking in their native language/accent gets too thick, and will stop the domino twins from fighting. does he HAVE to do these things? no. Does he do them anyway? Yes. I could go on but i think that’s enough. And yes, i think he’s trans. ICON!! BTW Pachinko is a nix’d casino boss that i really like.
The Tipsy Troop: Best of drinking buddies. The triple threat of bartending, with a knowledge to match. They are constantly drunk, but they’re brains have gotten used to the constant stream of alcohol, so they have they’re wits about them. Rum is the oldest, and has the best stories if you’ll listen. some come just to hear his tales of when he worked at a strip club, or a high-class restaurant. Whiskey is the second oldest, and has the corniest jokes. you need to vent out your problems, this is the guy. He actually got kicked out of psych school because he drank too much, so he became a bartender. Martini is the youngest, and is a little emotionless but gives the best advice. She can also spot a cheater at the craps table and will fling a fork at them to get them to stop. She has impeccable aim and can do the best tricks since she’s the only one who actually went to bartending school (is that a thing?).
Chips Bettigan: the big twink energy that is Chips Bettigan. He’s from Texas of course is has a very thick accent because of it. He’s also the youngest of all the casino the bosses, the next youngest being the domino twins, and then Martini. He is the BEST at poker and is the only person that can beat Dice at it except the Devil himself. If you don’t think this guy will ride Phear lap like a bucking bronco, you’re WRONG! He pranks everyone in the casino, even the Devil once. Then he got his ass kicked but it was “GODDAMN WORTH IT!” he’s dating Wheezy and confessed to him in what he calls his best prank ever, dousing all of the casino residents and workers with water EXCEPT Wheezy to prove he was special. His best friend/partner in crime is Mangosteen.
Mr. Wheezy: CUBAN CIGAR AND YOU WILL PRY IN FROM MY COLD, DEAD HANDS!!!!! Will just randomly go into spanish when pissed, usually at Chips, the twins, or Mangosteen. He used to at Dice but then Dice cursed in Spanish back one day and he stopped. His mustache has SO much ash in it, it needs to be cleaned one a week. Can kinda be an asshole but the dude is uber stressed because the Devil dumped all the finance work on him.
Pip and Dot: Parasitic twins. they have separate brains and have tried to tear their other half apart. the mouth between them has crazy sharp teeth. While Pip is mischievous, Dot is an absolute nuisance. She picks fights with everyone, mainly Wheezy though.
Hopus Pocus: Crazy. like march hare, Alice in Wonderland crazy. loves kids and that’s about all i got.
Phear Lap: i haven’t the slightest. all i’ve really got is he’s greedy.
Pirouletta: Russian Roulette waifu! gimme! Very kind but strict. Coy and flirty, but can and will kick your ass Black Widow style if the need arises. Strong as all hell. has picked up King Dice and no one will let either of them live it down.
Mangosteen: No one really knows what Mangosteen does, but he works there. Gamers like Chips and Hopus like to call him Sans on occasion since he’s so mysterious. When asked about his past, he’ll tell a different story every time, each more ridiculous than the last. He, Chips, and Wheezy are all best friends, and sometimes have prank wars with each other, usually with Wheezy getting ganged up on by Mango and Chips. The only one who knows where Mango came from is the Devil, who refuses to talk. He claims that it’s to traumatic for them to hear, or it’s so eccentric they’d never believe him.
Mr. Chimes. This dude has a very limited vocabulary. all he can say is “monkey see, monkey doom”, “i am mr. chimes”, and various monkey noises. He works the slots part of the casino and is always able to beat the claw machine, no matter how difficult it is deemed by Wheezy when he tries and fails to get stuffed toy for Chips.
The Devil: The big guy himself. Very greedy and very vain, but Dice always keeps him looking right. has a very deep-seated resentment to everything related to God. Wheezy’s silver cross, gone. Chips’s bible, burned. The holy water that Rum has for some reason, dumped into the ocean. No christmas, easter, or any christian holiday. he only allows christmas because the twins, Chips, and Hopus have him puppy eyes. Can change appearance at will, but prefers to look more monstrous instead of humanoid to spite his father. 10 feet tall AT LEAST.
That’s all i got. thank you all for reading and i hope you have a wonderful day.

Costume Culling
Sally looked through her closet, cycling through her dresses as she glanced at them. Most of these were just costumes from a past production, and while some of them could fit the bill, she felt as though they were fairly iconic to her. Being a famous actress had its drawbacks. As her outfit changed to the wedding dress she used for the matrimony scene in a play a few years back, she glanced back at Sam to see what he’d chosen. Since they’d be playing the part of a couple at the Devil’s Ball and going in as dates, she had to make sure that her outfit wouldn’t clash with his.
Samuel happened to be wearing the groom's outfit from the same scene two years ago, only instead of the matching top hat, he’d style his hair, and for the mask, it was just plain white and covered a little over half of his face. “Sam,” Sally spoke only to get his attention, and the moment he turned his head to look at her, she could tell he was thinking. The kind of face that Samuel makes when critiquing someone, something that Sally was always thankful for. “I... wouldn’t wear the wedding dress. Mostly just because I’m wearing the groom outfit, people might think it’s our wedding night.” “That crosses my mind as well...I just don’t have much of anything elegant. Well, none that would be easy to move around in.” “Well... the minute you start fighting is the minute you blow cover anyway, and you can make any costume change you need at the drop of a hat. So mobility isn’t going to be all that important if all you’re worried about is brawling.” “Good point...” Sally mused with a finger on her chin.
She glanced back at her closet and her eyes locked onto a long pencil dress that was a deep pink with a black underside that folded out over the collar and down the v-shaped back. “Golly!” Sam gasped. “I’ve never seen you wear that dress, Sally!” “I bought it for the cast party of that fateful performance two years ago, but after the battle with Cuphead and Mugman, we didn’t have it.”
Sally then turned to the mirror on her vanity and cycled through several different hairstyles. Up-dos, braided crowns, and of course, her go-to unique style, but eventually, she decided on tight curls and hair down, her golden locks resting weightlessly between her shoulder blades.
Finally, it was time to select the accessories. Pearls were a must, and given the setting, Sally figured the more extravagant, the better. Therefore, she chose a few smaller necklaces as well as a knotted necklace that came down past her chest before taking some time to think about what mask to wear. Her first choice was a more traditional mask on a stick that needed to be held up, but she quickly realized that she should go with something much more hands-free, and swapped to a black mask with white and black feathers that only covered her eyes. “Hmm...” Something wasn’t quite right about this one, though she couldn’t quite think of what. Then it was changed to a pearly white mask with floral accents and black feathers that arched outwards. This time, the mask was long enough to completely conceal her nose, seemingly flattening it against her face, yet didn’t cover her mouth. “Perfect!” Sally swooned, suddenly holding a matching black fan with floral patterns.

halloween whores
hanamaki and matsukawa are such sluts for halloween. they’re those guys, that have spooky usernames from october 1st (meet hallowmoonlit and monstercasket), who plan for costumes months in advance, and go trick or treating until 11:59pm. they always have iconic matching costumes, ranging from wario and waluigi, kermit and miss piggy, and even once they even imitated oikawa and iwaizumi (yes, it was definitely worth the kicks and punches from iwa and the weak roasts from oikawa although that's not saying much).
the most recent costume was cuphead and mugman. they certainly made everyone scream in terror.

Nintendo Switch Games With Soundtracks That Go Unnecessarily Hard (And Each Game’s Biggest Bop!)
Nothing immerses us in a game more than a boppin’ soundtrack. Music has the ability to quickly manipulate our moods and some games just do it so right. Whether you find yourself fighting a boss to the horns of a heroic symphony or collecting seashells on a beach to a smooth groove, games with good soundtracks always have a way of burrowing into our memories. Catchy tracks are exactly what make some games so memorable. Just mentioning a certain game can call to memory tunes that never seem to have left our minds. Anyone who’s played a video game before surely has strong memories associated with the game’s soundtrack (from Dark Souls to The Sims). Some games, like Grand Theft Auto, have allowed people to discover real life artists and even continue to shape our taste in music.
Our question for you is do you ever find yourself playing a game and thinking “Woah, this music goes unnecessarily hard.”? Sometimes we wonder what was going through the composer’s head when they were in the studio cranking out their tenth Donkey Kong track that still manages to bring us to tears. They don’t have to go so hard, but they do it for us. In this list, I will be highlighting some Nintendo Switch games that have soundtracks that make you think “Wow, I can’t believe the composer went in like that”. To do this, we will explain why the game deserves to be on the list, how the music relates to the gameplay, then highlight a song from each game that we consider the biggest bop. Full disclosure: this is just our opinion and we’re no music theorists. Without further ado, here are 8 games (in no particular order) with soundtracks that go hard. 3… 2… 1… let’s jam!
Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the Necrodancer featuring The Legend of Zelda
What do you get when you cross an iconic Nintendo IP with a kick ass indie rhythm game? Cadence of Hyrule, obviously. Crypt of the Necrodancer developer Brace Yourself Games really outdid themselves with this 2019 indie classic. Cadence of Hyrule tasks players with navigating through a rhythm based rogue-like Hyrule (easily an iteration of Hyrule we’ve never seen before nor may ever see again). The music and gameplay this time around are tightly knit. The player is tasked with moving Link to the beat (and the beat has never been more satisfying to move to). Composer Danny Baranowsky had no business going as hard as he did remixing countless Zelda classics into rhythmic jam fests. If you thought Zelda music couldn’t go any harder, you were sorely mistaken.
The one that bops the hardest: We love us some sick Zelda beats, and the one that goes the hardest this time around is easily “Gerudo Valley”.
youtube
The way the rhythm guitar and drums kick in when you enter the area, then the iconic melody blasting on (what sounds like) horns joins in, it really gets us going. Watching the little bokoblins dance and grove towards their inevitable death to the beat of this track never fails to satisfy. “Gerudo Valley” has always been a bop, and this version is easily the best of this game.
Cuphead
Here’s a real high class bout! Cuphead, released for Switch on April 19th, 2019, boasts a fully orchestrated swingin’ jazz + big band soundtrack. Composer Kristofer Maddigan lovingly crafted 51 jazzy tracks, which act as the backdrop for Cuphead’s many smoothly animated boss fights. Even Cuphead and Mugman seem to groove with every track in their animations during battle. Cuphead gave many of us a jazz addiction that we didn’t know we were capable of having.
The one that bops the hardest: This one is a hard pick because they’re all so good, but we have to go with “Floral Fury”.
youtube
This track plays while fighting the ornery flower Cagney Carnation. Right out of the gate the player is met with quick drumming and a catchy trumpet melody. As the fight plays out, so does the song. As Cagney throws out more varied attacks, more instruments are added to the track culminating in a hectic battle that really gets the juices flowing. The jazzy solos and scales add to the hecticness, which makes for an extremely memorable experience.
Megaman X Legacy Collection 1 + 2
You can’t have a video game music list without mentioning Megaman somewhere. We know, we know, this is a legacy collection of multiple classic games, should it really belong on this list? Yes, it absolutely should. Megaman X goes hard in the music department. Developed by Capcom and composed by their inhouse Alpha Lyla group, the original Megaman X had a lot to live up to in the music department. Where the original Megaman games had classic 8-bit video game-y jams, Megaman X had rad, attitude filled rockin’ 90’s tunes. Capcom could have just settled for a sound similar to the original games, but this was the 1993, and if you didn’t go hard you might as well have gone home. The SNES graphics combined with the radical tracks is a match made in heaven.
The one that bops the hardest: I’m gonna focus on the first game here, and again, this is going to be a controversial pick because all the music is so good, but we’re going to have to go with “Storm Eagle”.
youtube
Many will never forget the first time X dropped into this stage and the sick guitar riff kicked in. It’s truly exhilarating. Controlling X and toughing it out through this sky machine is made all the more exciting by listening to the tasty, recurring guitar lick. The rhythm guitar just goes so well with the escalating melody and Megaman action. (Man, I’ve got to play through Megaman X again…)
Super Mario Odyssey
We love Super Mario Odyssey. A return to 3D sandbox form, Odyssey is filled to the brim with jazzy tracks that are just as fun-loving as the stylish platforming gameplay. Released in October of 2017 and composed by video game music legend Koji Kondo, Super Mario Odyssey is just as much of a joy to listen to as it is to play. When one thinks of Mario Odyssey’s music the first song that comes to mind is probably “Jump-Up Superstar!”. While that one does go hard, it would be too easy to say that it goes the hardest.
The one that bops the hardest: In our humble opinion, we believe “New Donk City: Daytime” goes harder than it should.
youtube
The New Donk City festival music (“Jump-Up Superstar!”) was already the show stealing track, so one wouldn’t expect the basic daytime music to be such a bop. With an intro reminiscent of Super Mario 64’s “Bob-omb Battlefield”, New Donk City’s daytime track sounds like a bunch of jazz musicians just having an absolute blast jamming with each other. There’s even a moon to collect by finding jazz musicians scattered throughout the city! Also, it’s interesting how this game’s music evokes nostalgia in us even though it came out in 2017.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
Developed by Retro Studios and originally released for the Wii U, Tropical Freeze is arguably one of the greatest 2D platformers of all time. The Donkey Kong Country series has always had some real slick tracks. With a soundtrack composed by long time series composer David Wise, Tropical Freeze has music that at times sound ambient, and at others feels thrilling. Similar to how every platform in the game organically fits in with the environment, the music seems to always fit perfectly as well.
The one that bops the hardest: Okay, this is really kind of cheating because it’s a remake from the original game, but “Aquatic Ambiance” always goes the hardest.
youtube
Remember how I mentioned ambiance above? This track has it right in the title. Starting off very slow and somber, things in this song don’t really kick off until about a minute and a half in. This melody is so melancholic yet so beautiful. It flows in and out like water, perfectly tying into the gameplay. What’s also great is the sections with in and out of water platforming because the music changes based on DK’s position.
Super Smash Brothers Ultimate
Again, we feel like we’re cheating a bit because Smash Ultimate is an amalgamation of gaming’s greatest hits. Ultimate has over 800 tracks in total! There is literally not enough hours in the day to sit and listen to the whole soundtrack. We have to include Ultimate for that very reason. Also, most of the tracks in the game (which come from different series) have been remixed to match the fast pace Smash Bros gameplay. The head composer for the game’s original music is Hideki Sakamoto. Sakamoto made the song that bops the hardest.
The one that bops the hardest: The main theme, “Lifelight” just goes so dang hard.
youtube
When players first caught a glimpse of Ultimate’s story trailer, they were mesmerized by this powerful track. “Lifelight” is also remixed throughout the game, acting as a menu theme amongst others. Sakamoto didn’t have to make the melody so catchy; he certainly could have settled for less. But he went hard for Mr. Sakurai (as we all should).
Undertale + Deltarune
Undertale and Deltarune are getting lumped together because they’re both tiny indies and part of the same series. Though they may be small and independant, they quite possibly have more heart than any game on this list. Developed (and composed) by the enigmatic Toby Fox, both games are filled to the brim with charming tracks that complement the active RPG-style gameplay. Calling Fox a bit of a musical genius wouldn’t be a stretch; some of the music from these games have become somewhat of their own beast (a la the “Megalovania” meme).
The one that bops the hardest: Just saying “Megalovania” and calling it a day would be easy mode, so we’re going to have to go with “The World Revolving”, featured during a hidden bossfight in Deltarune.
youtube
This track evokes a feeling of major frantic danger, while sounding slightly circus-esque. This fits perfectly with the boss’s gameplay style and design. When this track first kicked off and the fight began, any reasonable player was definitely hit by a huge shot of adrenaline. The way the entire track seems to come to a chaotic head in its chorus. Chaos, Chaos! It makes us feel like we can do anything!
The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening (2019)
We couldn’t help ourselves! We just had to include a Zelda game! While Breath of the Wild has tracks that are more atmospheric than anything, the 2019 version of Link’s Awakening has music that is more in line with what you would expect from a Zelda game. Originally composed by Minako Hamano and Kozoe Ishikawa for Gameboy hardware, the games soundtrack has been brought up to date by composer Ryu Nagamatsu. We must say, it sounds better than ever. With memorable tracks (like the woods theme or the shop keeper theme), Nagamatsu’s mix really brings the original tracks to life. We have to give an honorable mention to this version’s “Animal Village Theme”, which is sung by actual (not really) animals !
The one that bops the hardest: The most memorable and emotional song in perhaps any Zelda is “The Ballad of the Windfish”.
youtube
Without spoiling too much of the games ending, this song, heard throughout the length of the game, evokes an emotional response out of anyone who has completed Link’s Awakening. The game is about gathering instruments to play this song, so we’d say it ties into the gameplay pretty closely. Sung by Marin, “The Ballad of the Windfish” is definitely a song we will never, ever forget.

Nicholas Gurewitch (W/A/Cover)

Death becomes a patient of a recently bereaved psychoanalyst. The topic of discussion? His frolicsome child, who has no apparent interest in grim reaping! Featuring an unfathomable number of lines which have been hand chiseled into inked clay, this labor of love by Nicholas Gurewitch invokes the morbid humor of his comic strip (The Perry Bible Fellowship) and the spooky silent-film qualities of the late Edward Gorey.
