Idk if this is possible or not or if you've done it already but could you list all the rainbow references in the show?

Haha- talk about pandora’s box. Sure, personally i think the rainbows have multiple meanings -3 meanings to to be exact

1) Rainbows being associated with psychics + Will’s powers plot twist

*We see in the stranger thing novel 'suspicious minds' when overusing powers you may hallucinate rainbows (which are also associated with the void/ monsters in the series) .

Terry: “Spots bloomed behind her eyelids. Every color … as the sunlight turned to rainbows” ( p44-45), “streaks of rainbow appeared (p47)”,“The rainbow stayed with Terry for a long while, but eventually it faded and in its place: darkness. A pit.”(p. 48). 

Alice (who sees visions of the future) : “Snarling, snapping monsters,RAINBOW LIGHTS playing in the air around them” (p. 121).

cough Will being in the upsidedown/being chased by “monsters”. And Joyce communicating with Will  via “rainbow lights.”

The rainbow room (from s2) also has a rainbow on the door- according to the novel kali drew that rainbow. Similar to Will's rainbow drawing. Kali in the book also creates a rainbow allusion with sunflowers (Terry ref).

Kali: “field of yellow sunflowers  grew up around them. A rainbow arcing over the golden tops.” (p. 139).  “He noticed she’d drawn up there, a rainbow with her colored pencils. Maybe he’d suggest that for the playroom” (the rainbow room we see in s2) (p. 298)

I also already talked about how Terry saying "breath, sunflower, rainbow " is actually a reference to s1 Will- here (in link including pic of Will and Terry being told to “breath”.

*El in s3 also thinks of papa, her mother , and the rainbow room- cause she sees a cereal box with a rainbow (on it).

Dustin and susie sing a song from the film adaption of the book "never ending story". Which indicates how Will is subconsciously creating the supernatural creatures & people in the series . Before they sing, we also see  susie is next to a ‘wizard of oz’ posters & she reads & talks to Dustin about the book "wizard of earthsea'. 2 of the 3 examples have  rainbow-related songs (in their film adaptions) & all 3 hint at Will’s powers.

* wizard of earthsea:

It’s about a pre-teen wizard named Ged who has a bowl cut (Will) who casts a powerful spell, but the spell goes awry and instead he releases a shadow creature (by opening a portal between the living & dead- Will is a zombie boy remember?)! The new Archmage, Gensher, describes the shadow as an ancient evil that wishes to possess Ged. But the ‘shadow’ turns out  to be a representation of the darkest aspects of his personality. It’ only when he calls the shadow monster by his own name “Ged”(cough mf=will the wise) does the monster stop acting out. The only way to save the world is for ged to then  merge with the shadow(and for Ged to accept himself-and “become whole”).This also reminds me of the “Jungian shadow” 

* never ending story: 

Bastian ( who has a bowl cut- and is from single parent house hold) subconsciously creates a fantasy world being over run by darkness (symbolizing the loss of hope and dreams). One of the characters he creates is Atreyu (El). Atreyu ( was the child deemed the ‘chosen one). “Atreyu is knocked into the sea of possibilities. There he wakes on the shore of abandoned ruins. And Gmorick (mindflayer) then latches his jaws onto Atreyu’s (El’s) leg.”Pretty much what happened to El.”The Empress in the story later tells Atreyu, that despite being told he was the chosen one (he never was). And that it was always Bastian (Will) who was the chosen one-since his imagination created Fantasia (so he’s the only way to stop the darkness from over -running it).”

Will has mental health issues and  accidentally writes a “story” about the shadow monster (reflecting his tra*ma). Bastian is depressed (over his parent) and subconsciously creates a story about darkness over-running everything. Like how Hopper describes his depression- like a black hole.

song Dustin & Susie sing:

 “Written on the pages is the answer to a never ending story” (cough the books susie referenced - are explaining the answer to what’s causing the mindflayer/upsidedown/the lab...this story )

“DREAM a dream. And what you DREAM will be” ( Will’s imagination making his nightmares come true)

“Rhymes that keep their secrets Will unfold behind the clouds.And there upon a RAINBOW Is the answer to a never ending story.”

(the lyric “rhymes that keep their SECRETS” purposely pans to Will both times the song is sung). Because the ‘SECRET’ is -he’s causing everything. And thus he’s the only way to stop it- or they’ll all be stuck in a never-ending story. The only way to stop it is for Will to face his shadow/the mindflayer (aka the other Will) who is always shown within the STORM CLOUDS . Will needs to create a RAINBOW (out of those storm clouds). Like rainbows that show up AFTER a storm.He’d do this by accepting himself , his tra*ma/mental health relating to his dad, and or his gay identity- then the story will be able to end.Dustin even says “ defeat his RAINBOW of DARKNESS” (and later says a “rainbow is the answer ”(to the story). st book:”The RAINBOW stayed with Terry for a long while, but eventually it faded and in its place: DARKNESS. A pit.”AKA: Will has to face his symbolic darkness and the storm/and than create a rainbow from it- for the story to end...

When Dustin says ‘rainbow of darkness’ he talks about my little pony- where one of their friends became a dragon.  in d&d wizards can become dragons &Bastian also summons a dragon with his imagination powers in ‘never ending story’. And Will is associated with dragons: s1he  has dragon comic & drawing, s2 Will has dragon poster in his room + watches his friends play dragon game. And again... dungeons & dragons.

Also tw for s.a/parental ab*se (so skip to ‘wizard of oz’  if you prefer ). In the 4th book of wizard of Eathsea (20 years after the original, where ged was the protagonist). The new main  protagonist - was r*ped and burned by her father as a child (and in the sequel she became a dragon as a form of empowerment ). which goes with my lonnie theory-sadly.

*wizard of oz: 

it’s about a Dorothy creating a mythical world based on people she both likes and dislikes . Dorothy sings in the movie a song about a ‘RAINBOW’ and references ‘DREAMS’ coming true in a mythical land -much like the ‘never ending story’ song (referencing “rainbows”/”dreams” coming to life).

“There's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby Somewhere over the RAINBOW, Skies are blue, And the DREAMS that you dare to dream, really do come true...”

We see in s1 Hopper cop-partner calls the lab “emerald city”. Murray in s2 says people “don’t want to look behind the curtain” (to see what’s causing the supernatural -in the film what was literally behind the curtain was a wizard-cough like Will). We also have -lion, tiger, and bear stuffed animals (as a ‘lion, and tigers, and bears-oh my!’ quote )from the film. And David harbor (Hopper) when referencing the s4 rainbow room (quotes the song)  and he also quotes a speech from Dorothy-when posting about the cabin the mindflayer destroyed.

2) Rainbow cups (hinting at Lonnie’s return) 

We see 2 rainbow cups in the series. 

in s2) when Mike & Will are sitting together & saying they’re “crazy together” . This cup next to them says “happy birthday” in rainbow. Later that season- they talk about Will’s birthday-rainbow drawing, Mike&Will meeting & Lonnie leaving. And in s2, we also see in Will’s room a card that says “sorry, I forgot your birthday”(most likely from Lonnie). So both Lonnie & Mike are associated with Will’s bday.

in s3) We see a woman yell “I don’t want her in my house!” (while she sits next to a rainbow cup). reminiscent of Joyce saying to Lonnie “get out of my house”. We also know there are rumors s4 takes place during Will’s birthday & Lonnie’s actor may have been spotted on set.  Along with the fact (it’s pretty much confirmed) Mike will be visiting the Byers in s4. However, the woman (next to the rainbow cup)  also says “2 visitor only. 2!″

THE 2 VISITORS ARE MIKE &LONNIE (for Will’s b day). 

Also, in s3, when El is drinking from cup- she sees a rainbow. And what’s the first word she thinks of? “Papa.”

so rainbow+cup= shitty dads (lonnie & brenner) probably returning

*And of course if that’s the case -Lonnie (the same guy who called Will h*mophobic sl*rs) will not be supportive of Mike & Will’s “friendship”. And will not be nice to Mike (to say the least). Like... imagine Hopper in s3 - but we know he’s not bluffing and the audience won’t have the option to take it as a joke... and yes the s4 movies hint at that...

3) gay symbolism

First we have Mike wheeler. He in s1 has rainbows sheets, rainbow bedroom blinds , and in his basement there’s a heart propelled by a rainbow. This is like how in s3 Mike kisses El and there is a drawing that says "Mike'. And on the drawing is a heart propelled by a rainbow. I already explained how its symbolic of him trying to be straight/fighting his feelings for Will, but wherever he goes a rainbow still follows (even when he tries being romantic with El). He’s trying to hide his “rainbow heart” by dating  El- why in s3 (the rainbow-heart in his basement) mysteriously disappeared from his room (but a similar symbol follows Mike even when he kisses El). 

Even in s2 when talking about Will (in the AV tech room): Mike is placed in the center of 2 objects : an object with 11 on it & on the right a rainbow apple (this apple is supposed to be an ode to the gay father of computers- but also about the forbidden apple). Hinting at the love triangle of Mike (with El/Will). PLUS, in the ST book ‘worlds turned upsidedown’ they literally show Mike in the AV room- and  put the caption “FALLING IN LOVE- with tech” (and placed rainbow flags next to the caption). And of course we have Mike & Will pose next to the rainbow apple- in the AV room.

 We also see when Mike and Will says they’re “crazy together” (aka LOVE-as Flo stated) and they’re next to a rainbow cup that says Happy birthday .

And later that season they ref the rainbow ship Will drew for his birthday-which Joyce was "proud" of.  And while dancing with a girl (Will according to the script was looking at Mike instead of her) . That girl is wearing a rainbow heart hair pin. This is essentially a parallel to Mike . Will (next to a rainbow heart) is dancing with a girl, but is secretly thinking of Mike. Mike (next to a rainbow heart) is kissing el but secretly thinking of Will (and immediately goes on a movie double date with Will after this). The lyrics of both these scenes indicate they're not happy pretending to be straight. The lyrics for Will are "every smile you fake". And Mike while kissing el is "just a little uncertainty can bring you down" (and during this lyric is when El puts her hands on him-and he removes her hands from him *aka he’s not as confident in the relationship as he pretends to be.

We see in s4 bts that the rainbow heart hair pin (worn by the girl Will dances with) is also worn by nancy while standing next to Robin (who is gay). So being near a  ‘rainbow-heart’ is prob a hint a character is gay. Aka robin & Will & Mike.

In s1 when troy is calling Will h*mophobic sl*rs (in front of Mike) he wears a rainbow shirt. And max while often critiquing m*leven (in s3) (to Mike) often wears rainbow shirts. I talked about how I thought Troy and max subconsciously remind Mike he isn't straight - so they're associated with the rainbow iconography-post here. Like we see Max with rainbow sheets (like Mike) and than she immediately talks to him on the phone. I mean she could be queer- but I lean to that theory at the moment. 

The whole being near rainbows when associating with a queer character makes sense (it’s like a ‘gay-dar”). Similar to Nancy’s hair clip when being near Robin/ that Girl having the same rainbow hair clip when dancing with Will. If we assume this theory than see a pattern with other characters (when speaking about/being near queer coded characters)....

it’s similar to how : When lucas (via subtext) criticizes m*leven- he is also next to a rainbow (in Erica's room). I explained here- why it’s about m*leven.

or when Jonathan says he’s going to hang out with Will (it’s near a rainbow).

This Jonathan moment -Is similar to when Steve ( who has a rainbow bandaid-from the Byers’ house) calls Mike “Nancy” (which is slang for a gay guy)

*another addition: you see in the comments of this post ghostgirlsatin mentioned Dart has a rainbow blanket. But, I noticed a couple of other things. 

notice Dustin says "we have to talk- its about my friend ,Will". As Dustin is near rainbow lights and a rainbow bed sheet. Like how

A) rainbows are associated with the supernatural creatures + Will

B) rainbow lights associated with Will

C) rainbows near straight characters when talking about /near queer characters... similar to how Jonathan is near a rainbow when talking about Will

*also can’t tell if that is a ‘rainbow ship’ poster?

We also see Erica has a sunflower & rainbow drawing in her room... at the moment not sure if its just a random easteregg , foreshadowing something supernatural we're not aware of yet? or just for the m*leven diss?

(although given the fact i think some characters were created by Will- and given all the Max &Billy/Will & jonathan parallels ... the rainbow stuff may be a hint Will created them? I mean they even made a Troy comic just to show his dad is a bully.) But, at the moment, i still lean to (some) characters having rainbow iconography because they’re referring to/are near a queer character.

After your encounter with Katsuki, you often found yourself around him more and more

It was mostly because he'd often stop by to check up on you, or you'd call him because you needed help with something

But eventually, the two of you would be around each other simply for the company, or to have some fun

There were even a few times the press started catching onto "Ground Zeros Mystery Woman"

You both genuinely liked each other, but because of the baby you had on the way, you weren't exactly sure about any of it

But Katsuki was absolutely sure that he still wanted to be their for both you and your child, and was entirely willing to pay for every expense

So not too long before the birth, you made an agreement to see how he was as a parent, and if he was an acceptable parent and good with them, you'd become official

When you gave birth, it shocked your family to see pro-hero Ground Zero of all people holding one of your hands in the hospital

You gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, and Katsuki was right there with you to watch her take her first breath

He helped you during recovery by taking care of her, made sure you were eating and getting all your rest

Hed never really had experience with newborns or babies, but you could tell he was trying his best and thats all you cared about

You let out a soft sigh as you stirred yourself awake.

Hearing the soft coo of your baby girl from behind you, you flipped over to see Katsuki holding her to his bare chest, a peaceful expression on his face.

"Good morning." You muttered, making Katsuki jump.

"Good morning." He said back, his muscles releasing tension. You glanced down at D/n and reached out, letting her curl her tiny hand around your finger.

"And good morning to you, my mini me."

It was true, she looked exactly like you did when you were a baby. Your eyes, your nose, lips, everything.

You sat up, and carefully took D/n from Katsuki.

"Has my baby eaten yet?" You said, using a baby voice while nuzzling your nose against hers D/n. You earned yet another coo from her, and a laugh from Katsuki.

"Yes, she did, she decided to wake up early and then started whining so I went ahead and fed her. I hope that's okay with you." He told you.

"Perfectly fine, thank you." You said, leaning your head onto his shoulder.

Your situation was a tricky one.

Katsuki had been with you longer than your own baby daddy was when he found out you were pregnant.

Hell, he helped you out before he even knew you were pregnant.

And now? He'd already been with you while you gave birth, while you were recovering, and he's still here while you're learning how to be a parent to your daughter.

You might as well be a family of three... A mom, a dad, and a baby girl.

But you and Katsuki had only ever kissed, and it was once. And on that same night, thats when you established your agreement

You weren't going back on it or anything, because as much as you liked, and maybe even loved, Katsuki, D/n was your top priority.

You were elated beyond belief that he was doing such an amazing job, and were secretly praying he'd continue doing so.

You laid D/n down and got up, walking into your bathroom.

You stretched and yawned, and leaned over the sink to examine your face.

You wiped off a bit of dried drool from the corner of your lip, then pulled on the apples of your cheeks, examining your under eye bags.

Thanks to Katsuki helping out with D/n, you've also been able to catch more sleep.

'The right person will do you good, body and mind.' You mentally recited a quoted youd seen on your Instagram feed.

You actually found it around the time you and Katsuki got closer.

"Maybe it's destiny?" You said to yourself, letting out a light chuckle.

You began brushing your teeth, before you heard D/n begin to cry.

"Y/n, it– she's crying again." You heard Katsuki call.

"What do you mean again? Did I sleep that hard? Wait- Nigga did you just call my baby an 'it'?"

"Almost."

'Thats definitely gonna need some work.' You thought to yourself, shaking your head and rolling your eyes.

Katsuki was quick to bring her to you, walking in while he rocked slightly as an attempt to soothe her.

You took her into your arms, bouncing slightly, hoping it would calm her.

"What's the matter baby?" You said, once again using your baby voice.

When she didn't stop crying after about two minutes, you handed her back to Katsuki and asked him to put her in her activity play mat while you finished getting ready.

You finished brushing your teeth, and quickly did your face routine.

You planned on doing something with your hair today, but you decided to do it later and just kept your bonnet (or what ever you use) on.

Walking into the living room, you smelled several very pleasant aromas.

A light scent of cleaning products and air freshener, as well as the smell of breakfast.

And the scene before you that went with it only made it better.

A clean living room, that was in shambles last night from looking for D/n's stuffed monkey that she wouldn't stop crying for till you and Katsuki practically flipped the apartment upsidedown.

A clean kitchen, now spotless despite the fact that just last night the dishes were piled up and the counter, covered in reminisce of whatever you were cooking.

Katsuki and D/n laid out on the floor together, as D/n played with dangling toys, and Katsuki smiled at her happy coos.

Like magic, every worry you had not even twenty minutes ago washed away.

Walking up to them, you planted a kiss on your babies forehead.

Then, you planted one on Katsukis lips, both of you smiling into it.

"Thank you." You told him.

Katsuki is doing and amazing job, and you were sure he'd keep doing so.

This was your family now.

Maybe you'd even be able to get past Katsuki calling D/n an 'it'.

Whatever had to do, you were okay with, because now your family was your top priority.

Black Folks Don’t Do That Shit (Pt. 2)

Author’s Note:  Hello everyone!  I know it’s been a while since I’ve published anything new.  But here is part 2!  Hope y’all like it!

Warnings:  All the vampirisms - creepiness, blood-drinking, etc.

You breathed peacefully as the smell of frying chicken wafted through the kitchen.

The closer it got to Halloween, the more it rained.

And yet, despite the chill in the air, your spirits were high and your heart was full.

Yet, a question - the question, weighed down on your mind.

“Smells good,” A familiar voice said.

You turned around to see Nakia walk into the kitchen.

“Really?  Thanks.  It’s my grandma’s recipe.”

“Your grandmother?  Interesting.  I wonder what other delicious things your family has created.”

“Well, grandma made a lot of recipes.  She had bananas foster, sweet potato pie...”

You turn to her.

“Oh, and pineapple upsidedown cake!”

Nakia looked at you with predatory eyes as his mouth twisted into a puckered smirk.

“What?”

“I wasn’t referring to food.”

Before you could reply, Ayo came in.

“Mr. Udaku has awoken, my lady.”

“Thank you,” Nakia said, dismissing her as quickly as she came.

“Mr. Udaku’s sleeping awfully late,” you commented, turning back to your cooking, “Is he okay?”

“He is fine.  Merely a small cold.”

“Explains why I haven’t met him yet.  But at least he likes my fried chicken.  I could fire up some soup if you like.”

“Would you?”

“Of course!”

“Thank you,” Nakia said gratefully.

Unbeknownst to you, as you fired up another stovetop, Nakia was looking at your ass.

Later that Evening

You quietly padded up to the stairs, a silver tray in your hands.

On it lied a bowl of crab soup, which steamed with spices, and a glass of orange juice.

Once you got to the top of the stairs, you walked down the hall up to the large red door.

Ayo, who had been standing at the door, gave you a slight nod and went to open it.

Yet, Nakia beat her to it.

“Ah (Y/N),” she greeted with a thousand-watt smile, “Come on in.  There is someone I’d like you to meet.”

You walked in, deliberately trying to miss her skimpy pink robe.  But to your surprise, Mr. Udaku was not in his bed.

“Where is he?”

Just then, a tall figure ghosted out of the large walk-in closet.

“Here,” he said, “You must be (Y/N).”

You almost gasped at how handsome he was.

6′0 tall, black, muscled and with eyes as deep as a panther in a nighttime jungle.

No wonder Nakia’s wearing that tiny ass robe.

Wait, you thought anxiously, Were he and Nakia fucking?!  Oh, shit shit shiiiit.  I need to go.

“Yes well,” you said, “It’s nice to finally meet you.  I um...got your soup.”

“How kind of you,” he replied, gliding past you and returning to bed, “You are...everything Nakia said you were.”

Damn, his accent is nice.

“Is that a good thing?”

“Is it, my love?”  Nakia asked, laying beside him.

T’Challa’s cat-like eyes looked you up and down with a dark approval and bit his lip, “Yes.  Very much so.”

“Isn’t she lovely?  Okoye found her at the farmer’s market.”

“The one always full of people.”

It wasn’t a question.

“Mhmm...”

She kissed that spot between his cheek and neck.

“(Y/N),” T’Challa said, “Would you mind turning around for me and giving me a little...spin?”

You furrowed your brow but nevertheless did as he asked.

“Mmmm perfect,” he purred.

“Glad I’m making a good impression,” you said wryly, “Where should I put your food?”

“On the table is fine.  That will be all.”

“Thank you,” Nakia called as you left.

You quietly padded out of the room.

God those two are weird.  Oh well.  At least they pay well.

The Day Before Halloween

“Yes mom I’m safe,” you assured as you held your cellphone closer, “Stop worrying so much.”

“I know I just...,” she sighed, “Are you sure you trust this couple you’re workin’ for?”

“Yeah!  They pay me 17$ an hour even when I’m cooking, free room and board with all the fixings and when I do cook I get to wear my PJs.  What more could a girl want?”

“Exactly.  They’re being awfully generous.  This just rubs me the wrong way.  They could be tryna do something to you.  They could be tryna keep you as some sorta sex slave.”

You busted out laughing, “Mom, please.  You’re overreacting.  Black folks don’t do that shit.  Plus I like it.  They’re a little weird but...they’re nice.  I feel...like I’m at home.”

“You have a home,” she said, a little hurt, “With me and Sunny, remember?”

“Yeah...of course,” you lied, “Listen I uh...gotta go.  I’ll call you later okay?”

“Alright.  I love you.”

“Love you too.”

You hung up and quietly sat on your bed, shivering as you caved into yourself.

You would never have a home, not with that man.

Then, a couple minutes later...

KNOCK.  KNOCK.

“(Y/N)?  (Y/N) are you in there?”  Nakia asked.

“Yeah.  Yeah, I am,” you said, sitting up and trying to look presentable, “Come on in.”

“Forgive me for the intrusion,” she said as she came in, melodious and beautiful as ever, “I just wanted to see if you were alright?”

“Yeah.  Of course, I am!”  You chirped, “Why wouldn’t I be?”

“No particular reason.  It’s just that sometimes we spend so much of our lives caring for others, we forget that we need people to care about us.  So I ask you...”

She sits down beside you.

“Are you okay?”

You breathe real rough, “Actually...no, no I’m not.”

“What’s wrong?”  She asked, cascading an arm over you.

Your head fit perfectly into her neck.

“It’s...it’s hard to talk about.”

“Well, you don’t have to hide things from me.  And it is unhealthy to keep things bottled up.  Besides,” she said, tipping your chin up so you could meet her eyes, “You can tell me anything.”

Her breath smelled like mint and something else metallic that you couldn’t place.

Yet, she was so...hypnotizing.

“I um...,” your mind was getting clouded, “I’ll tell you later tonight.  During dinner?”

“Sure.”

“And I’m sure Mr. Udaku wants to join us.  We could have dinner - just the three of us?”

“Of course,” Nakia said with a smile, “It’s like you read my mind.”

You hummed softly to Lizzo’s BET performance of Truth Hurts as you skimmed down the sauces aisle looking for Auntie Mae’s Barbecue Sauce.

You needed it for the ribs.

You bit your lit and nodded as her flute screeched in your ears.

You didn’t know why everything seemed to be falling into place.

Maybe it was the weather, the season?

You smiled.

No, you thought, This new job is good for me.

“Miss,” a voice said, “Can I help you find something?”

You turned around to see a store attendant eyeing you.

“No thanks,” you replied, “I’m good.”

“Are you sure?  Because I can help you find anything you need-”

“She said she was fine,” a familiar voice growled.

You looked over your shoulder and there they were.

“Uh s-sorry sir,” the attendant said nervously as T’Challa glared him down.

“Perhaps you should listen better,” Nakia hissed, her brown eyes narrowing.

“Yes, ma’am.”

“Get out of our sight,” T’Challa snarled.

He stalked toward the man slowly, as if he was ready to pounce.

“Yes, sir.  R-right away sir.”

As soon as the man was gone, the pair sunk back to normal and began chuckling.

“You two are wrong for that,” you said with an amused smile.

“Oh come on,” Nakia laughed, clutching her pink trench coat collar, “That was too funny.”

“Yes,” T’Challa agreed, “And he was asking for it anyway.”

“What are you two doing out anyway?”

“Well T’Challa needed some air and we wanted to surprise you.”

“How did you even know where I was?”  You asked, plucking your desired bottle of sauce from the aisle.

“This store carries the finest ingredients in town.  We figured you’d be here.  Now, come.  Let us live this day to the fullest and return home.  I am famished.”

The three of you laughed as you walked in through the front door, caramel apples and grocery bags in hand.

“And she told me she tried to twerk,” Nakia said, busting out laughing, “Can you believe it, a Nordic woman trying to twerk?  My goodness.”

“I’m upset you didn’t get it on camera,” T’Challa guffawed.

“Y’all are crazyyyyyy,” you giggle, “Now go relax.  I gotta cook dinner.”

The two relax as you unpack the food, wash it and turn it into a culinary masterpiece over the span of a few hours.

“Dinner’s ready!”  You called once everything was done.

“My dear this is so delicious,” T’Challa commented as the three of you dined on ribs, mac and cheese, yams and collard greens.

“I agree,” Nakia purred, “The ribs are not too tough and the greens don’t have all that damned ham stuffed into it.”

“Yeah my mom always used to do that when I was younger,” you said, “I hated it.  So I promised myself I’d learn how to make my own greens.”

“Thank Bast for promises,” T’Challa said, sipping his wine.

“Bast?”

“Mhmm.  Bast is the goddess of all things good.  She is a being of protection, love, and comfort.”

“I thought she was the goddess of cats.”

He chuckles, “Yes.  Cats too.”

“That’s cool!  Have you studied Egyptian mythology before?”

T’Challa smiled, “Let’s just say I know a lot.”

You furrowed your brow but soon forgot your confusion when Nakia ran to the fridge.

“I am so glad you came to us (Y/N),” she chirped, “You do not know how long we’ve been waiting for someone like you.”

“Someone like me?”

“Mhmm,” Nakia answered, returning with a glass of wine, “Someone who would make us whole again - make this family whole again.”

“I thought I was just your chef,” you said as Nakia popped the cork and filled your glass.

“Oh no my dear,” she said, “You are much more than that.”

“But...aren’t you two happy together?”

“Of course!”  T’Challa confirmed.

“But you weren’t whole?”

“No,” Nakia answered.

Your brow furrowed again, “I’m confused.”

A peaceful looked crossed her face, and the dark-skinned woman then grabbed your hand in a warm grip.

“Love does not always just happen between two people.  It is eternal and in a thousand different directions,” she explained, “What is between T’Challa and me is only a third of the relationship the three of us share.”

“This,” she gestures between the two of you, “Is unique and priceless, and it has made T’Challa and I better people.”

“Wow,” you thoughtfully as you took a sip of wine, “I never thought a friendship could be so important.”

“Not a friendship, darling,” T’Challa corrected.

“Then what?”

Then, it hit you - a wave of dizziness.

“Oh,” you moaned, clutching your head, “Shit.”

“Are you alright, (Y/N)?”  T’Challa asked, his eyes turning red, “You look a bit dizzy, my love.”

“Oh don’t tease her T’Challa,” Nakia chastised, “She’s already been through enough.”

The second wave hit.  It was enough to make you knock your glass over.

A scream tried to make its way out of your mouth, but even that took too much energy.  As a result, you said two small words.

“Help...somebody...”

“Shh,” Nakia soothed, “Go to sleep now.  Everything is alright.  Rest.”

The last thing you saw before the darkness came was the crimson shine in her eyes.

i’m a survivor too, and i found that certain scenes/stuff will said just really struck me as ‘csa-survivor’-like? i felt a bit uncomfortable about headcanoning it happening to someone else, especially for a fandom as wild as this one, but your metas have really been a comfort to me because they’ve been able to pick out and explain things that i couldn’t necessarily find the words for myself.

and yeah, i would love to have a character like me that is powerful and who finds love and who gets a happy ending. the people who call the theory disgusting always kinda hit wrong with me because although csa is a difficult subject, we shouldn’t be ashamed about sharing it. they sound like they’re trying to say that it’s a bad topic to talk about and implying that it can’t happen to kids, which uhhhhh-

(i’m sure that’s not what they mean, precisely, but it’s still what they sound like, and i wish that they would stop implying that we can’t exist, especially in popular media. we do, and i’m not gonna pretend we don’t, and if they feel uncomfortable with the topic they can just use the block button. we deserve to have some well written representation just as much as anyone else. also, i really really hope that will gets a happy ending.)

SORRY, this ask took so long to respond to. It always warms my heart to hear other survivors speak and say they found comfort in my theory.

Yes, I think I and a lot of c*a/r*pe victims (subconscious or otherwise) were triggered by some of the symbolism/visuals in s1-3. And s3 made it hard for most of us to ignore the past imagery- since s3 wasn’t as subtle.

I get why people have reservations about the theory. But the debates to the contrary are usually just plain offensive. Or people trying to be respectful but being the opposite. There’s the obvious bad-apples . I got many anons after part 1 of my DID theory saying it “ruined/tainted byler”, and “if that happened to Will i’ll stop shipping byler” , or that it  “ruins the best gay character” ,  and to “remove the post immediately”. And this was when I was open about being a gay c*a victim. I obviously blocked them. Many survivors don’t come forward because they’re afraid people will see them as “tainted”, “ruined”, “ just their trauma”, or blame them for what happened. So yeah, it pisses me off when people say similar stuff about Will (and thus other c*a victims). Not even diving into the messed up psychology about byler/mileven shippers (knowing i was a lesbian c*a victim) but purposely spreading bs rumors about me being a p*do that was into Will/Noah-all because of the theory. -_-

Then there’s the people who try to be “respectful” but literally do the opposite.

I’ve heard numerous times it’s somehow “less offensive” to just use r*pe imagery to make monsters scary. Rather than have  the monsters have that imagery cause Will created the monsters from his memory/imagination-and st is a story of Will healing from that trauma. SORRY- I disagree. Using the worst experiences of peoples’ lives (and triggering their trauma) for no real purpose- except to make their monsters scarier to the normal/general audience who haven’t gone through it so won’t be triggered like us - is MORE OFFENSIVE to victims! NOT LESS! At least to me.

Then there’s the people who say “c*a should never be talked about (in stories).” Which I disagree with. V*ctims have already been told by ab*ser’s  and enablers of the ab*ser- to never talk about what happened to us  . So it rubs A LOT of us the wrong way when people say this.  Because (subconscious or not) you remind some of us of the people who used to hurt/silence us. People say this -simply for their convenience (like ab*sers) and cause deep down they’re uncomfortable with our existence and equate the despicable act to us the innocent v*ctim ...or just want to deny the horrible reality of the situation (like many enablers who deny the truth and hurt us because they don’t want to accept reality) . And 1) It brings us back to a time where they told us to NEVER talk about it- and makes us feel like we did something wrong when we didn’t! 2) Every psych professional says with-holding/keeping the ab*se a secret is detrimental to our mental health.

Plus, there’s a HUGE difference between sugarcoating/minimizing trauma or WORSE glamorizing, condoning, or romanticizing C*A in stories (ex: pretty little liars) VS showing how the action is wrong, causes trauma, but showing recovery and happiness is still possible for v*ctims.  if the story shows how accurately traumatizing it is (instead of minimizing/glamorizing it)- it’s incredibly rare for that character to get a happy ending. Having a story about recovering from that type of trauma and finding happiness despite such hardships would be amazing for US survivors! We rarely get stories with a happy ending-  it’s more harmful to us survivors to never see ourselves get happy endings in tv/film/books. How can some survivors (in a dark place) think there’s a light at the end of the tunnel- if it’s never shown?Also if Will has DID too- it’s good mental health rep, along with queer rep (and survivor’s rep.) All 3 groups rarely are treated well or get happy endings in media. A lot of people may feel more heard, seen, and a bit more hopeful for the future - If Will (and other characters) get a happy ending.

And even though st has many themes- like say homophobia. To try and hand-wave all the disturbing  r*pe imagery away  as ‘Will is just gay so the monsters are like that”. IS SOOOOOO offensive. Trigger warning for examples. I’m sorry what part of Max saying when Billy had c*nsensual s*x it’s “good screams” but when possessed by the mf he causes Heather to do “bad screams” read as gay???! Having the possessed ch*ke/dr*g people before throwing them in trunks (like it’s implied Lonnie did to Will -since Jonathan checked Lonnie’s trunk for Will in s1)?Tying their arms and legs up/ g*ging  them and  getting on top of them and saying “stay VERY still it’ll all be over soon”-before a monster shoves it’s tentacle into someone’s mouth and inserts a goo - just gay??? Similar to the sentient vine/shadow monster forcing itself down Will’s throat. Let alone Will saying things like “he made me do it”, “i felt it everywhere”, or being tied to a bed and screaming “help! stop! it hurts! let me go!” While Jonathan is the only one who’s visibly triggered by this and has to literally turn away and hug someone . Or barb, billy, and El spiting up a white liquid from their mouth (similar to will spitting up a slug and lying to his mother about it ).El/billy touching a suspicious looking slime with their hand and looking at the substance confused . El drawing Papa with 3 legs (the middle one being shorter) ,  trying to undress in front of the boys , and Benny saying “I think she’s been ab*sed or something”.The theme of ab*sive dads- brenner , Lonnie, and Neil . Even when the demogorgan (called in d&d the “deep father”/ in the show “a man without a face”) attacked Barb it’s chopped up with scenes of Nancy having c*nsensual sex (the monsters are doing the opposite symbolically). There’s way more examples but NO- to try and hand wave /equate ALL OF THIS to just “gay imagery” or an “a*ds metaphor” is WAY more problematic. And just offensive (specifically to gay people) than just admitting what it may actually represent. R*pe imagery and gay imagery is NOT THE SAME THING!

Also ST has never been a kid show- maybe rewatch the show and see the rating of tv-14 . Goodness sake- s1 has a st*ged su*icde, k*dnappings, m*rder, discussions of physics, h*mophobia, and s*x (with stancy in s1 & jancy in s2-s3). S2/3 discuss at their finalies recovering from tra*ma . S2 had gra*ic de*ths,  a man causing a women br*in damage/ and faking her m*scarriage, and a gang of vigalantes k*lling criminals. s3 had critiques on capitalism /media/s*xism, many d*eaths, and questionable imagery like the prior seasons. The Duffers constantly reference  movies & events from the 80s (capitalizing on 80s nostalgia /subverting 80s motifs that middle age people  from that time remember)! Those people were their intended age demographic . Most 80s centric refs go over most kids’ heads (heck a lot went over my head too since I wasn’t alive in the 80s XD).The Duffers even said in the book “worlds turned upsidedown”  “it’s not a kid’s show despite having kids”. And maybe it’s a coincidence but when Lucas in s3 hands Will the “devil’s baby” firework (a hint about Lonnie) he says “18 and over only.” Which idk is a weird/random af line unless it’s foreshadowing that the show will get darker about various themes- and maybe even change ratings.

I get people wishing nothing bad ever happened to Will or Jonathan. And being apprehensive and not trusting the Duffers to do such a story justice (cause it’s difficult to do). But personally i trust them to do so tastefully with tact and not be exp*itative, (overly gr*fic) or offensive to v*ctims. You can disagree and think the show is about something else (or not trust the Duffers)- but it’d be great if people could stop using these other messed up talking points. While trying to appear ‘(fake) woke’ and like they care for victims- cause we see through it that you really don’t.
