An analysis on Sherlock and William [with Watson propaganda at the end]

Spoilers for Moriarty the Patriot [more specifically "the Noahtic" and "the Final problem", with brief mentions of "two criminals" on the side ;) [pretty much everything] Another long post lol

The very first introduction of Sherlock is in "the Noahtic", where William finally kickstarts the Moriarty plan.

The obvious highlight of the whole episode is Sherlock's character and, more importantly, his dynamic with William. So far, we have seen William solving certain puzzles [example: William's childhood] by using already established facts. We know that William is not afraid to bend the rules, fabricate evidence if there are none in order to catch the culprit and generally does things that would absolutely not fly in a court room. But the reason why he does this is why he is the main character, and not the villain. He wants to establish a world where the class system doesn't exist, a world which does not bury the thousands of possible geniuses that could shine and make the world a better place. He is willing to sacrifice anything so that people, and the people he cares for, can see that world, to reap the rewards he had sown, even if it means that he can't live to see it. His method is wrong but his goal is right, making him much more nuanced.

"The end justifies the means."

Sherlock, on the other hand, uses facts that have a high probability of being true, which means that sometimes he can be wrong [about William being the Lord of Crime and not considering his brothers as well] and his deductions are forced [something William pointed out himself]. Sherlock also plays by the rules, he's never the one to fabricate evidence, because the thrill in solving a crime is the process of solving itself. If he fabricates evidence to catch the culprit, where's the fun and frustration of a good mystery? Why would he bother to crack a case when he can take the easy way out?

One thing I noticed about Sherlock that not a lot of people talk about is that he's not THAT good, morally speaking. Case and point, A Study in S. This episode is mostly around Sherlock, Watson and their first case together, with my personal favorite part, being the offer given by Jefferson Hope and it's aftermath.

This whole episode is a clear cut test for Sherlock and shows the audience where he is in the morality scale. In the end, Sherlock is left with two choices; he can either choose to shoot Hope, an already dying man, and therefore reveal the identity of Lord of Crime, the mastermind behind the case. Or he could choose not to, never to have conformation on the mastermind's true identity. Sherlock inevitably chooses not to shoot Hope, but that doesn't mean he did it purely out of the goodness of his heart. He did it partially because the offer itself was not interesting enough and because of Watson. Had William tweaked the contract just a bit and Watson not been there to stop Sherlock, we could have seen a very different ending. But what interests me the most is the aftermath of the decision.

In the episode "The two detectives", we see Sherlock actually regretting the fact that he did not shoot Hope. Hell, he even starts to dream about it and it frustrates him so much he starts to look into other cases in the hopes of coming across another big mystery, a mystery secretly orchestrated from the Lord of Crime. This is a clear indicator that Sherlock is still flawed. While William respects him and says he should be the "hero" of the Moriarty plan, that doesn't mean he is morally great. He is, at the end of the day, not as righteous as William, which is one of the characteristics that makes Sherlock want to save William, despite his actions.

Funnily enough, Watson is the one of the few people that is mostly good in this whole series. I mean, look at him, he's too precious for this world

He's the person who pops the champagne when Sherlock solves another grand mystery, but that doesn't mean he's afraid to knock some sense into Sherlock when he does something that he should have not done, like, Milverton's murder.

This scene was probably the one that has the most parallels to William and his brothers [or pretty much everyone in Moriarty & co.]. He wasn't sad that he had to taint his hands for a friend. He was pissed off at him, berating him for ever thinking that this would make him happy at all. After all, murder is still murder, no matter the consequences. And wasn't Sherlock the one who placed himself in a high and mighty place by swearing to capture the Lord of crime, despite his "noble intent"? I don't think it's much of a stretch to say that this is how the Moriarty brothers, or maybe the entire crew, feels about William's grand sacrifice. They don't want him to take all the blame and die for it. They don't want William to put in so much effort, only to not see the fruits of his labor. Why would William think that this would make them happy? That they would want to be in a world, knowing that they could have stopped it and bearing the regret and grief that came after the plan? The only reason why the Moriarty plan had that resolution was because William didn't know a better way to atone for his sins. Sherlock was the only one to call him out for it, to say that it was a cowardly way to atone. He made William realize that no one would be happy with this ending, just like Watson did with Sherlock.

TLDR; Watson deserves more love, and if he didn't smack Sherlock for killing a man, William would not have realized his mistake at all [I wasn't kidding with the title lol]

He's like one of the if not the smartest person in the whole show/manga so he definitely knows what to do when someone is on their period.

But he doesn't know how bad the pain is, everyone experiences the pain differently but pain is pain and it hurts like hell.

He wouldn't really know how to act when someone has mood swings.

If you get angry at him at this (oh so horrible and awful) time he'll understand and give you some space, if you start crying out of seemingly nowhere he'll comfort you and give you what you want.

If you bleed through he'll try his best to tell you as softly as he can as to not upset you, and if you bleed through on the bed he'll wait till you wake up on your own then tell you, he'll tell you sit on a chair or something and give you water while he changes the sheets.

If you get really horny while on your period and wanna have sex he's got you. He just wants to make you to not suffer during your period and if having sex with you will help then he'll do it.

Despite his colour being red he isn't fond of having period sex, he'll do it so you feel better and happy not because he's that into it, like he doesn't mind it yk.

Louis James Moriarty:

He is already sweet but he'll be even more sweet towards you, if that makes sense.

He makes you your favourite tea/coffee and if have any cravings he gives/makes them for you.

He may not alot about periods but he'll try and learn how to help you through those horrible and agonising times.

He may not give the best massages but he'll try for you so you'll feel less pain, he'll also try and help you carry all the heavy things you need to carry cuz that fucking back pain is killing me rn (I'm sitting in a chair)

The first time you started crying out of nowhere he got so worried and asked if you were OK and needed anything but when you calmed down and chuckled at his reaction telling him everything this fine he was so relieved but he was still confused on why you were crying, later that day you had to explain mood swings and stuff yk.

So he'll try his best not to make you upset in anyway. If you get angry and start shouting at him he'll try and understand that your mood was just flipped in every direction possible 100 times but he still feels like he did something wrong.

Also he'll bring you food to bed, usually its something hot/warm like porridge with cinnamon, fruits and nuts and seeds for breakfast and if you're in too much pain to move out of bed he'll let you eat dinner in bed aswell, he'll also probably feed you cuz why not.

What are his opinions on period sex? Yes.

He'll enjoy it especially if you're more verbal.

He will try to be very gentle and slow as to not hurt you but if you ask to got fast he would not hesitate one bit.

Albert James Moriarty:

He will give you a kiss where you feel pain, your lower back hurts? Kiss. Your lower abdomen feels like someone has just ripped it out? Kiss. Obviously these kisses won't help you physically but its still nice, you also get some pain killers as well dw.

If the painkillers don't work and you wanna stay in bed and not move for the rest of the day then he's in bed with you and holding you till you get better or until he as to leave.

He also gives you baths (or showers) and he would help you wash your hair and/or body if you were too tired or in too much pain, also he's in the bath/shower with you.

Got cravings? He's got you. Like ask for anything and he's there with it. You want pancakes? He's in the kitchen with an apron and a pan. He may not be the best cook in the world but he's certainly not the worst and his dishes always taste amazing to you.

The foods you eat during your period are warm foods and warm drinks which are mostly prepared by him.

He loves you very much but eating in bed is where he draws the line, there won't be any crumbs in his bed, you could potentially drink tea or soup in bed but that's all.

He knows these times are hard for you so if you need space from him or anyone else he'll gladly give that space to you or if you need to be around him constantly he will try stay home more during that time.

He will not hesitate to go to a store and by like tampons or pads for you. Mf will waltz in and by only the sanitary products he needs and leaves, like he has no shame, no one should but the world sucks and i dont want to go on a rant.

There isn't anything Albert will do for you but period sex is where he crosses the line.

He has a hard time turning you down but he just really doesn't want to make such an irreversible and the fact that your period is just like a shredded lining of the uterus turns him off.

John H. Watson:

He may be a doctor buy he certainly isn't a gynecologist so his knowledge on periods is there but it's not as advanced as it probably should be.

He tries to help as much as he can though, like if you need anything he'll give it to you, you need a bath? He's making you one. You need to stay in bed? He's there. You need a hot water bottle and some space? He gives you one and leaves. Like he'll do anything to relief your pain.

He would be taken aback by mood swings. If you randomly start crying he'll think it's cuz of the pain most of the time. But if you tell him it's not because of the pain he'll just kinda sit there and hold you until you stop. And when you get really angry at him he'll just give you some space and leave you alone for sometime until you calm down.

He's the one doing the work around the house while you're sitting/laying down on your bed, practically won't let you even lift a finger. But if insist on doing some cleaning or cooking then he won't stop you but will try and help and take care if you need a break.

He's just really sweet and doesn't want you to feel pain.

James Bond:

Man's been there so he knows what needs to be done.

He'll help as much as possible but will let you do your own thing aswell.

You are showered with all your cravings be it fish and chips or chocolate, you can have whatever you want.

When any of you get your period you just help out each other and take a break during that week/days.

He might bring you flowers if you like them to see a smile on your face.

In my case, I'd love to think I'm the Watson as a loyal friend, but I'm far too squeamish to be helpful with most medical needs besides basic first aid, and I would NOT be any help in a fight, I'm running in the other direction and yanking Sherly with me the second there's gunshots, bye. I think I'm mostly likely Mrs. Hudson--responsible, own a home, love Sherly and Watson despite their faults, still deeply loyal and tough in my own way even if I'm not in the thick of the danger, a bit of a homebody probably and good at whipping up some tea/food.

Flower symbolism in Yuumori:

We all know that some characters have assigned flowers in the manga (Liam and Sherlock) and others in the anime (Louis, Albert and John), but I've never felt they're quite right. They seem a bit lackluster, so I tried to make my own list complete with meanings!

Liam: lilies. They symbolize purity, and are commonly a symbol of mourning, often found on gravestones of family members.

Albert: roses. They symbolize love, and the added touch of sub rosa interacts nicely with their goals.

Louis: azalea. As I've mentioned before, they symbolize family and unity, so it's only fitting they'd go to the one keeping the family together.

Moran: forget-me-not. They symbolize undying love and loyalty, and past memories. Very fitting for a soldier.

Fred: edelweiss. They symbolize courage and devotion, two things Fred has a lot of.

James: belladonna. Not only do they symbolize beauty and confidence, they were also used by cosmetics by victorian women.

Moneypenny: jasmine. They symbolize grace and elegance, and are both used in tea and perfumes, making it a nice touch for her.

Herder: periwinkle. They symbolize friendship and new begginings, both things he heavily desires, if we are to go by chapter 12.

Sherlock: iris. They symbolize strenght and intelligence, both things he has a surplus of, and also have the additional meaning of wisdom, which he acquired in NYC.

John: violet. They symbolize loyalty and hope, both of which are always fitting themes for any Watson of any media.

Miss Hudson: zinnia. They symbolize affection and absence, a way to show how much she missed her boy during the timeskip.

Ok so random thought of the day. If Moriarty characters had pets what would they have. Though I'm aware he's taken care of fish before I think Louis would have a cat. Albert though good friends with a pigeon I think a guinea pig or a dog (probably a border collie). William would definitely have a snake hands down. Thoughts ?
