I haven't found myself in that many pods with such a proxy arms race at work, but a couple suggestions do come to mind.
1. Have rule zero discussions based on the axis chart instead of the old, tired scalar 1-10.
2. Politic with nonparticipants to this arms race to declare these doubling season/mana crypt/fetch&AMURdual proxiers are a threat worth pointing removal at or attacking down. [This may mean playing with scary new people at your shop, but c'est la vie]
3. Become a Control Player with disenchants, board wipes, and counterspells which can police their shit.
4. Hone your synergies sharper than their funnymoney can buy. If your voltron deck has a commander at or above 9 power, then play and consider tutoring for Finest Hour to put fear in some hearts. Even among people running apparently-real chase cards, I have seen loads and LOADS of gameplay [particularly from mtgmuddstah] wherein the person that fetchshocked twice is somehow 'more dollars than sense'
Feeling a little weird after a game of EDH today. While we welcome proxies in my game group as a way of making the game more accessible, there is also a constant balance that we have between giving people freedom to play more expensive cards and not have people who don't wish to play with those cards feel pushed to do so because of escalating power level due to proxies.
Some friends were left behind as they are newer and don't have expensive cards. However, they recently started proxying powerful/expensive cards. This in and of itself isn't an issue, as the decks were still pretty evenly matched against decks with few to none proxies (with a general price between 50~70$). However, as the cards they proxied became stronger and stronger, they are now far beyond what is financially available to me. I don't really like playing with powerful and expensive cards, with some small exceptions (like cards I pull). I mainly proxy to test cards I'll eventually buy. I don't feel too good tho about losing a game because another player proxied rhystic studies. The solution here is simply a matter of communication, I think. Communicate before the game what general power level for cards I am comfortable with. However, this is a practice I already do, and when I did, my friends only answered in vague ways that didn't reveal the true extent of the power of the cards in the deck...
I feel a little conflicted because, while I want my friends to proxies cards they want to play with, I don't like feeling like I now have to proxy strong cards just to play a fair game with them.
Once again, I think I just need to talk to them and say how it makes me kinda uncomfortable playing with power disparities like that.
I also think my discomfort with it comes from playing games as a "f2p" for years, to the point that I just prefer lower power and cheaper stuff in games than anything too expensive.

Hey gang. I know it's not the most fanfare worthy pic to commemorate my 5th year on Instagram, but this is the best one I can offer, due to the ongoing pandemic and the untimely death of my father (June 7th 2020), everything keeps getting snowballed when you think you're done for the moment. So, what is this pic about? This is the Big Deck that I made many months ago out of Magic the Gathering cards that to me don't seem to fit the playability to any deck I have. An idea that was inspired by a YouTuber called Gameplays by Clonehead. Unfortunately, this deck has been played at all because of the current situation we're all in. So, because of the New Age format I created, a whole amount of cards here and those not shown will be sold. Some few I am willing to continue to keep. The problem is that other than Rares, Mythics, and some foils, I have more Commons and Uncommons and that seems to be harder for people to accept even with Pauper being popular. Since checking out sites like Channel Fireball, I'm not too entirely sure if they can accept all the cards that aren't just on their Buy List so there's that. So yeah, that's one of those plans. And once that's settled, perhaps I'll recreate another Big Deck but only with the cards legal for New Age. Also, I have a consistent urge to challenge MTG Muddstah with a New Age only Commander challenge. 😁 I hope everyone is still here and well, keep your loved ones close as best as you can, and thank you all for sticking around these past 5 years and here's to many more. #5thyear #mtg #tcg #magic #gathering #bigdeck #gameplaysbyclonehead #aegisangel #academydrake #azrasmokeshaper #abbotofkeralkeep #aggressivemammoth #aerialengineer #arcboundstinger #newage #newageformat #mtgmuddstah #commanderchallenge #stanleytools #professionalorganizer #cardsforsale #pauper #pioneer #modern #whilesupplieslast https://www.instagram.com/p/CG05oiLD169/?igshid=26phjm8yuroc

MTGMuddstah, Commander VS and The Command Zone and all really good channels for edh content, i really recommend them
i’ve been more exposed to youtube magic stuff over the past few days than ever before (and not just that guy, but like branching off and stuff totally unrelated to that) and how is it that they are all bad? like that’s an exaggeration but it’s very slight. there are so many bad ones. the only one i got to that was enjoyable and not an ass was someone i already knew about
