"Noona," he begins dramatically as one certainly must in a dire situation like this when screams (of joy? terror? he's about to figure this out in the next few minutes) fill the air around them. "What shall we-"

His words are cut short by a little child barreling straight at him with a conveniently placed hand that guts him right in the soft flesh of his stomach. Eunki responds to the pain with a noise akin to what he thinks belongs to an animal of the jungle and then proceeds to veil it by pretending to cough as if something decided to clog his throat.

"What shall we," he repeats with the same urgency he had before, as if nothing had occurred and that his eyes did not water just a _little _bit over the thing humans call pain. "Ride first?"

He glances to the side where his sister stands, then at the metal contraptions which surround them. Some (most) are spinning one way or another and he wonders how the human brain manages to find its center of gravity on those rides. Truth is, it doesn't. But that's not something he's going to know quite yet, as he takes a little hop forward away from the metal gates that signal his entrance into a world of fun (or hell).

"I always heard," he says after a momentary silence. "That humans find the most thrill on the thing they call the rollercoaster."

“she’s a cougar!”

“I know, right?” A small amused chuckle escapes his lips, his eyes glinting in adoration as he looks down at the cat in his arms, snuggling it closer comfortably.

She had just arrived at the shelter and he was asked to give her a check up. Jaehwan enjoyed volunteering as a vet at the shelter, because he had the chances to meet wonderful animals like the cat in his arms. 

“She’s been through a lot, and she’s still fierce.” He says quietly, probably more to himself than to the woman in front of him.

     HE STARES AT another unwanted notch on his couch's used list. why is everyone using his couch? there were others, more fancy and expensive, in the goddamn club, but everyone wants to use his.

" you don't even go here ! " haru groaned, dropping his face into his hands, wishing it were all a dream. the poor guy just wanted to sleep.

It is only early evening when the looming grey begins to crawl into the ochre dipped sky and an unsettling murmur begins to make its way through the citizens of Seoul. The storm itself is not unusual, it's been forecasted on the television for a couple of days now along with the usual precautions but never has it come so early - an odd thing to say but somehow the withering rain and gusty winds seem to have found themselves a schedule when it comes to the metropolis. Until today.

The reactions are the same, a monotonous repetition of people packing their things away and shuffling languidly inside their homes. It takes only another hour or so until the entire sky turns puffy and angry. Rancorous thunder shakes the air as lightning runs free through the brazen sky. The wind howls, seeking any place to sneak and attack unsuspecting people.

For the most part, everything is normal.  Evening hits and the drumming rain becomes an almost soothing rhythm as everyone stumbles into their bed to shut their eyes until the early rays of dawn when the storm will surely come to an end.

But the world has another plan in mind.

A clock ticks away into the Shadow hour and the night sky shifts from obsidian to an eerie green. The next second many people find their dreams presenting them an abandoned ballroom - to some a familiar sight, to some not.

"Welcome to the Velvet Room... you are not supposed to be here nor are you supposed to be walking in Prateritus tonight," a middle-aged man states from where he sits in his chair at his desk. "But I also suppose an interesting destiny awaits you...if you survive, you will surely be rewarded well."

The scene disappears as people are swallowed into a hole filled with stars. Down, down they fall until they reach the bottom where they are thrust awake from their dream - but they are not in the comforts of their bed. They are somewhere dark, musty and the scent of danger is frighteningly strong.

Welcome to Chromanut, lost souls.

GUIDELINES

Persona user and citizens alike have been thrown into the first section of Prateritus, also known as Chromanut, due to the unusual storm which has taken Seoul by surprise. Welcome to week one (August 14-21), the rules are rather simple to survive.

Regular citizens, do your best to run around without getting killed by the Shadows which lurk around or worse be touched by the Apathy Syndrome. The same goes for Persona users too, but at least you have a method to battle your way through. You will have to find your partner listed below while writing your thread, as team bonding will be a necessity for survival here. Note that the way you meet your partner in the thread has to be entirely accidental. But make it realistic, you won’t find them right away but you also have to remember you only have a week!

Here are the monsters which you will have to meet, writing a few of them into the thread is also required for points!

goblins — at every corner there resides these greedy creatures with their pockets full of golden coins. they are vicious, wrangling their foes with their mangled hands and scavenging the corpse for anything that gleams in their eyes. often they will group together and close in on their prey from all corners. They’re the most common monster within the dungeon as well as the weakest.

banshees — with the wails of a woman, she draws in her opponents by making them believe she is in need of help, but once within her reach, she latches onto her opponent and drags them down to ground level with her. she will try to hold her opponent's head and draw their soul out from their body in order to regenerate her own vessel. If caught by her trap, quickly kick her away and launch a counter attack.

mimics — with the facade of treasure chests in promise of glorious treasure, they are monsters who only attack when their prey lingers close enough for them to unveil their true form and attack. Their mouths open up wide and they try to gobble up their foe as quickly as they can to once again await their next prey. As quickly as you notice the faults of the chest, send your quickest attacks to eliminate it before it runs away or eats you. The rarest of treasure are always in the mouths of mimics.

leprechauns — tiny bearded men who in lore protect pots of gold appear within the dungeon as lifeless entities still clad in green and fueled with the desire to keep the gold to themselves. At any detected movements, they will cast magical spells on the ground that will trap their enemies in place and rain down gold coins to pelt their foe. Avoid their trap and quickly knock them out with their own pot of gold for a clean fight.

“you’re gonna leave me alone?”

five word sentence starters

“I- well,” his eyes are looking anywhere but at his sister currently because she was right. Absolutely correct that had been his plan to leave her in the Velvet Room and go back outside to visit the city of Seoul. But maybe, just maybe, he had been doing it a bit too much. Maybe five days out of seven? At least he was spending the weekend and the evenings back in the Velvet Room, that must mean something?

Or maybe not with how Eunbi looks at him. He doesn’t know many things he must admit but he does know that leaving his sister alone today would be a bad idea. A very bad idea. A maybe something unlucky will happen to him in Seoul if he does go out bad.

“No, of course, not I was simply thinking of heading out for a short errand but I will be back very soon! Actually, maybe I will just…postpone that for another day. And stay here, what do you think of that instead sister?”

Correct.

The voices of the Mammon boom across the quiet room before the two demons fall still again as if their soul has been sent back to another realm, leaving golden corpses melded to the door. There is a tense silence that fills the air for a few more seconds before the gates slowly begin to creak open, inviting all to enter the room which lays in wait.

The chamber sparkles in gold and precious gemstones, it is clear that all those who can manage to retrieve the riches from this room will be set for life as they look on at the mountain of treasure left to be hoarded. Curious visitors are invited to walk forward, bit by bit, slowly until fingers are only a feather’s length away from any delight they spy.

But there will be no stealing and certainly not even the slightest touch of skin upon lavish materials as a roar echoes, causing coins to trickle down like sand. Seconds later, a giant creature of scales and fire bursts through from the ground. It is all too clear that calamity will lay in the wake as the unlucky beings come eye to eye with a creature so wickedly beautiful but destructive.

But at least it looks like there are more comrades this time to help you defeat the monster?

Be mindful of its attacks, everyone!

Tail Smash — When turning around, the dragon’s tail will sway behind them like a whip slicing through the air. They can lift their tail high up and smash it back on the ground as a way to hit their opponents.

Earthquake — The dragon rears its maw and bellows out an earth-shattering roar. The ground shakes beneath the feet of their enemies and can knock them to the ground.

Screech — When not making threatening growls, the dragon releases a screeching noise that confuses and dazes opponents. Make sure to cover your ears!

Fire Breath — Watch out for the scalding flames. The dragon parts their monstrous jaws and flames of unimaginable heat approach fast.
