when the gates finally open for the two of them, the passive features which had settled on her face for much of the journey suddenly takes a darker turn. it is a small but nonetheless evident downturn of her mouth before roseate lips disappear into a pursed crossed line. she should have known that the cursed place wouldn’t let its victims out easily. digging the heels of her shoes deeper into the dirty that has accumulated on the ground, she takes a careful few steps forward into the chamber.
it’s beautiful, there is no denying the splendour which sits in the room. but she knows better, she’s been trained to deny any of the sins, any sort of wish, greed, would only bring ruins to someone who had to live a life of killing. she doesn’t kill anymore, supposedly, but that part of her training has never left her. if any, it resounds even louder now that she is stuck in a place so suspiciously rich. there has to be something.
something, turns out to shake the ground momentarily later as if an earthquake hits and it doesn’t take long for her to realise she is looking eye to eye with a dragon. it doesn’t scare her though, if anything it makes the blood in her veins rush around all the more excitedly now that she’s found herself an interesting foe.
interesting foe however, does not include an interesting ally as her eyes briefly widen when she sees another familiar figure enter from a door to her right. a familiar vet, who most certainly does not belong here.
“jaehwan?”
Jaehwan hasn’t noticed his eyes were closed shut when he answered the riddle, only opening them when he heard the gates opening. His eyes were met with something he wasn’t expecting at all.
The vet had to blink few times to get used to the sparkle coming from the room and, even though the place looked beautiful, a chill ran down his spine. Something seemed off, it wasn’t supposed to be that simple after facing what he faced back at the maze.
“Hades...You know... The prettier the scarier...” He mutters quietly, holding his breath as he quietly and slowly stepped inside the room.
As the vet makes his way into the room, eyes scanning everything and body ready to attack if anything showed up, a voice caught his attention. A voice that brought both happiness and worries on him.
“Tianyi!” He breaths out, running towards her.
His happiness lasted short, though, cuz his run to the girl was interrupted by what seemed like a earthquake, dropping him on his knees.
“W-what...?” The vet looked up, only to gasp in suprise as his eyes met a giant monster that made him feel very dumb on not noticing it earlier. “No way...”
it takes many to tango

unfolding smiles
“And then, at the end of the movie, the girl---” His last words were caught in his throat, his eyes widening in disbelief, a gasp escaping his lips.
Right there, in front of his face, the other male was stealing his fries. His precious fries. The fries he made sure to buy the extra large... Three of them. His dinner for that night. Unbelievable.
He opened his mouth to complain, but closed it right away, a gentle frown forming and molding a confused expression. There he was stuck. He disliked the fact the other stole his fries, but he couldn’t express himself. First things first, he was afraid the other male would get offended. What if he lost his friend? The fries weren’t that important. But he still wasn’t very happy with the other stealing his oh so precious food.
“You could’ve asked.” His words were followed by a small smile of his, his eyes shifting to somewhere else. But gently, he offered the fries, so the other could take it.
Maybe it wasn’t that bad to share his food, afterall. Funny to notice, a second after offering his dinner, that he actually felt good on doing so. And the maybe, he should share his food more often.

hiatus.
Hey guys! It’ll be for only a week, ok? It’ll be a tough week and I will barely have time to sleep or eat.
But I’ll try, the best I can, to drop by and be active during the week. But in case I can’t, I answered all asks that were in my inbox, and replied to most of my threads (sorry if I still owe you a reply!)
I’ll check my IMs regularly so you can hit me up there!
Until then~

“i need some new friends.”
unfolding smiles
The vet studied the man in front of him for a moment, then parting his lips slowly to shoot him a question instead of giving him an answer.
“You mean human friends or a pet?” His head naturally tilted to the side as his curiosity grew a bit.
Personally, Jaehwan preferred the animal companion better. But maybe the other was talking about humans. So it wouldn’t hurt to ask.

“no, i’m not going to.”
unfolding smiles
“Oh...” The disappointment in his voice was clear, but he tried to keep the straight face. “I won’t either.” He lied, tried to uncover the fact he was planning to go to the amusement park.
At first he didn’t mind going by himself -it’s not like he had never done that before-, but he had some high hopes she would tag along. He was relieved, in parts, he didn’t invite her, just asked her if she would go. The vet wouldn’t know what to do if she was to dump him.
“Sounds like fun but I don’t feel like going.” Anymore, he completed in his mind.

“let’s not do that today.”
unfolding smiles
“Really?” The words escaped Jaehwan before he could control himself.
The vet usually would just follow along whatever people would tell him and it was the first time he actually had an opinion on something. And it surprised himself.
Maybe it was because he was looking foward going to that all you can eat desserts restaurant, that he actually behaved lie that. But he regretted it right away, because he didn’t want the other to feel bad about it.
“I mean... Sure... What... What do you want to do then?”

mthinami:
The first thing which infiltrates her senses is the smell of delectable food, pouncing into her nostrils && sending her stomach in a growling frenzy. She lets it rumble for a bit, lazy muscles still complaining with each movement made as sleep still tightly embraces the little one. Just a little bit longer, she thinks to herself as she turns in the softness of the plush fur.
But the animals themselves are stirring beneath her, enticed by the fragrance which wafts around the room. Whether she wants to or not, it’s a sign she needs to leave her slumber before she troubles the two pets she has been snuggling with for the past hour or so. Finally sitting up, the girl rubs sleep gently from her eyes with her long sleeves.
Seconds later, she is stumbling along until she finally reaches the kitchen. It is an instantaneous change in mood, though eyes are still kissed by lethargy, there is a bright smile upon her face as she glances over at the chef of the evening.
❛ Good evening! It smells good.❜
あなたの名は@mtxjae
When he arrived home that evening, after a long day at work, he knew Hinami was there by the simple fact that his pets didn’t come out to greet him. But the vet didn’t mind at all by the emptyness of his arrival, just dragging himself to a cold shower to renew his energies.
To Jaehwan, Hinami was like a sister. The younger had his apartment password and was free to come and go as much as she wished, whenever she wished. So episodes like that evening wasn’t rare for the vet, that rushed to the kitchen after showering.
Not to wake the girl up, he moved around as quiet as he could, checking the recipe on internet as he cooked. He wasn’t good nor bad at the kitchen, he just followed internet recipes and they worked. And he was never picky, even though he would choose carefully recipes to cook whenever Hinami was around.
“Good evening.” His words were in a low tone. The girl has finally showed up, with a sleepy face and bed hair, what brought a smile over his lips.
And finally, his pets showed up to greet him, what would always warm his heart to the most.
“It’s almost ready.” He gestures for her to sit, his eyes still focused on the boiling food in front of him. He scanned it carefully, making sure it looked like the pictures from the blog. “How was your day?”

she arrives with a pleasant smile upon her face, the usual almost cheshire like playfulness veiled by a façade of kindness and sweetness. it is a mental game, she is both the player and her own enemy as she maneuvers the terrain. her biggest obstacle is a handsome vet named jaehwan, but she means this with the utmost compliment. there is no time for petty games when she’s so busy running an agency, but for him she would give some time because he was just so amusing.
“hello jaehwan-ah, this is for you,” she responds brightly but gently, anyone who could actually pronounce her name earned props in her books. maybe this is why she actually found a bit of content in bringing flowers to him unlike her many other customers and countless other people who have tried to visit the flower shop not for the flowers, but for her. the celebrity, but also the quiet sweetness, or whatever people make up as they place their imaginations on her.
usually she would reach her hands forward to hand him the flowers but she pauses this time, a faint surprise echoing on her features as she is unsure how to react to the unexpected words. holding the flowers close to her bosom, her head curiously tilts to the side as her eyes crinkle with her smile. “yes? what is it?”
“Thank you...” The words escaped his lips in a soft tone, a shy smile creeping upon his lips as he, once again, rests his eyes on the pretty flowers.
But as soon as the girl asks what it was the topic he wanted to talk to her, the color vanishes from his features. He’s somehow anxious and asking himself if it was a good idea in the first place.
“I’ll finish work soon. Can you wait for me?” He blurts out, without giving his brain enough time to overthink and give up, or maybe he should have, because he feared a rejection right after.
His fingers felt numb and his heart was throbing hard against his chest, ready to burst out. But the vet managed to keep his blank expression, keeping his hopes high that she would accept it.
“I planned something.”

mtjiseok:
@mtxjae
He knew that he was one of the few people that would be still invested in pokemon go as it was sort of a dying cause. However, Jiseok was talking to the other about it the other day and seeing how confused the older male looked back at him while he tried to explain it, he decided it was best if they both went on an adventure.
After managing to set a time, and place of where to meet, Jiseok bought his backpack filled with snacks, battery chargers and most importantly, water. He stood by the fountain, turning on his pokemon go app to see what was around him. ❛ Only a couple pidgeys, and a rattata…. Nothing really special….❜ He taps a couple times, going through his inventory and then proceeding to check his pokemon. He had already left a bunch of pokemons in the gyms to defend them, sadly they all had too high of a CP to even come back to him.
He looks up from where he was standing and spots the other not too far from where he was standing. Jiseok lifts up his arm and waves around to catch his attention. He runs up to him and grins, ❝ Are you ready? Are you ready to catch some……. Pokemon? ❞
Pokemon. He had heard about it, of course. As a kid that would change families at least twice an year, he didn’t have a comfortable life where he could just sit and enjoy video games or tv shows. And as he grew up, he didn’t think Pokemon could be a thing between adults.
Well, at least most adults.
Jiseok was so into it, that Jaehwan felt bad about dismissing him, so he just quietly listened to everything the other would babble about. But, apparently, his face was clear enough for the shorter guy to notice he couldn’t get a word of what was going on. And that’s how Jaehwan got into that pokemon hunting date.
The vet could recognize Pikachu, as that’s all he knew about pokemon. So he simply did as Jiseok instructed him and brought his cellphone and a battery charger, wore his most comfortable shoes and went out on whatever the other planned for them.
“Ahn...” Jaehwan hesitates as the short guy approaches him with so much energy, but takes his phone and shows it to the other. “I guess.”

The walls of Chomranut seem to shift as if they are breathing, slowly encasing the unlucky duos as Shadows are thrust upon them one after another all eager to pounce and take the souls as their prize. It is a world of predator and prey, cat, and mouse but humans have always been resilient. Determination drives them forward until finally, each group reaches the front of a golden gate.
It is spine chilling, on both halves of the gates, there is one Mammon imprinted with a hole in the shape of a left hand where the heart should be. The instructions are clear, both members must place their hands into the hole.
It is then that both Mammons begin to move, gold figures groaning as if in pain as they stretch their aureate jaws and stare at the two who have woken them up from their slumber. In sync, they move and in sync, they speak.
To pass you must answer our riddle.
From stardust made was I,
Shaped and changed as time went by,
Names I’ve known, owners too,
Belonging to no one when time is through.
Now, what is your answer?
He felt drained, he had never faced such trouble before, he had never used Hades as much as he did in his short time inside that maze. His legs were getting numb, his lips dry and his forehead with a thin layer of cold sweat.
Jaehwan kept trying to keep himself positive. Darkness was always good to him, why would it be bad now? He would get more powerful in such an environment, it was the source of his powers. But of course, the effects that darkness would bring upon him was the reason he felt so insecure and scared.
“You’ll be ok.” He spoke to himself as he dragged his ehxausted body through the maze, and reaching a golden gate. “Finally somethign different than dark walls, Hades.” He says quietly, even though the god wasn’t summoned at that moment, it was his only companion so far.
The vet moves hesitantly to one of the statues that stare at him, placing his hand over its heart. “I hope it works...” He says quietly, waiting for something.
The riddle is told in a chilling voice, and at that rate, Jaehwan doubt he can think properly. With a frown, the male stares at the statues, and he could smell his braincells burning at that rate.
“The.... Earth?” A brow raised and insecuritry in his voice, he gives it a shot.

“stop making such odd assumptions.”
unfolding smiles
Her words were like a slap on his face, or a bucket of cold water. Whatever people called it. The fact was: they caught him off guard.
Of course he wasn’t expecting it, specially because -as far as he knows- he didn’t say anything wrong. He just checked on her to see if she was paying enough attention to her pets. But maybe it was an offense.
“I’m sorry...” His words sounded husky and were low. His eyes shifted to the ground as he felt bad about what he said to her. And if he could go back in time, he totally would.
Jaehwan gave a step back, feeling burdened and not knowing what to do to fix it. He worried just apologizing wasn’t enough, but in all, there wasn’t much for him to do other than taking the words back.

“how rude! who are you calling an eccentric?”
unfolding smiles
Jaehwan stares blankly at the male in front of him. His brain slowly processing the information, trying to figure out if his tone was actually very offended or if he was joking. And it was hard to tell, afterall, Jaehwan was never very good with sarcasm or any kind of jokes.
“The bird.” He says quietly, pointing at the cage in front of them. And he meant it.
To the vet, that bird was quite unique and full of himself, almost like a human. And with all his sincerity, he meant the bird was an eccentric, no one else.

“she’s a cougar!”
unfolding smiles
“I know, right?” A small amused chuckle escapes his lips, his eyes glinting in adoration as he looks down at the cat in his arms, snuggling it closer comfortably.
She had just arrived at the shelter and he was asked to give her a check up. Jaehwan enjoyed volunteering as a vet at the shelter, because he had the chances to meet wonderful animals like the cat in his arms.
“She’s been through a lot, and she’s still fierce.” He says quietly, probably more to himself than to the woman in front of him.

“sorry. i’m gonna have to borrow the sofa.”
unfolding smiles
Jaehwan was cleaning up the table where they had just finished dinner when the girl spoke and caught his attention. The male looked up, taking a couple seconds to study the situation and then just simply and gently shake his head.
“Get the bed. I stay with the sofa.” He states, clear with his opinion.
And with that being said, Jaehwan just moves back to the kitchen to wash all the dishes. It was far too late for the girl to go back home, therefore, far too dangerous. And he cared for her as a little sister, so he decided it was best for her to stay.
And if she was to stay, she better be comfortable above all.

“i came to experience the mysteries of the universe.”
unfolding smiles
“What mysteries?”
Jaehwan couldn’t help but ask. It didn’t feel like there were any mysteries in a simple 4D park, it actually seemed very basic for the male. Maybe the male said that because technology was too advanced nowadays and you were totally immersed in the game, specially now that you got to choose themes and such.
But in Jaehwan’s mind, it was still a very simple eletronic amausement park, merely made for fun and nothing else.
“Are you a scientist?”
