Hello, sweetheart. I know these days well, and they are hard to get through alone. If you like, could you tell me about how you came to be Cookie's parents? What is her favorite toy? Does she like crunchy food or the sloppy stuff? Have you ever taken her on walks with a harness or in a cat container? I'm looking forward to getting cats next year! 💕

We got her from the humane society ☺️! About a month after we got married, my wife said "I want a cat, and I wanna pick it! Trust me 😉."

So I agreed. She came back not even an hour later saying she had the one. So on our first meeting, she told me to put my hand on the floor of her cage, and the cat would do the rest. So I did, and she immediately crawled up onto my shoulders, and I was immediately sold!

She doesn't have a favorite toy as such. In fact she's always been a bit disinterested in actual cat toys. She does, however, love chasing laser pointers and strings!

Her go to is the crunchy stuff, but that's mostly because we treat the wet food like it's a treat. We treat it like it's a treat because she goes as nuts for it as she does actual cat treats, and I have to space when I give it to her, because the smell makes my stomach churn 🤢.

We have taken her on walks with a harness! She doesn't walk with us or anything, she mostly just eats grass and wanders around on her own as much as she can. But she loves being outside! I think she actually gets a bit motion sick in the carrier though, so we're sparing about when we put her in there.

You'll have to show your kitties off when you get some 🥰!

Not that I'm aware of. All I know is I was almost called Aaron, but they just liked what they went with.

Probably a few months ago after thinking about what a hard time my bestie is going through back home 🥺.

Nope, and we have already made sure that will stay the case.

I would say yes, but it really depends on the situation and who I'm with. I'm more careful with people that I don't know.

Definitely the eyes, I'm a sucker for pretty eyes!

Blue with a bit of grey actually, which apparently makes me somewhat of a rarity in the ginger world.

Which bat species has/have been around the longest?

Not sure there's a clear answer to this one that doesn't involve hours flipping thru wikipedia to compare entries on various bat species. And I don't have the spoons or free time to do this, plus not every entry has this kind of information.

It's probably a North American insectivore* species though, as the earliest bats are believed to be insectivores and a lot of the older fossils are found in North America, though there have been fossils found elsewhere.

*An organism that eats primarily insects
