preliminary thoughts on my stand-in ep.6

i actually have quite a few thoughts on msi ep 6 but because i was/am busy moving out and settling in a new house this week, i completely forgot to join the msi discussion space on twitter 🥲

perhaps if i have time this weekend, i'll have a proper post for my thoughts. but i'm also very scared of accidentally spoiling things for others (although i do think non-novel reader audience are spoiling themselves way more with their 95% accurate theories than my vague novel spoilers here and there)

but in general, i really like the following points:

i like how confused ming looked throughout ep6 because you can feel that there's this conflicting feeling in him about trying to get close with joe 2.0 while still missing joe 1.0

ming getting himself a role into this film to get close with joe 2.0

i was so glad they kept joe breaking into his house again to 'ruin' his crime scene so we got that scene of him wanting to break the kintsugied cat mugs but he just couldn't bare to do so. ಥ⁠‿⁠ಥ

joe trying to make ming drunk was really funny because i feel like ming was fully aware of what joe was trying to do anyway but he just let himself get drunk because joe 2.0 reminded him so much of joe 1.0

joe putting ming to bed pleaseeee that's the fucking joe i know and love. being kind (to the shitty ex that kidnapped and cause you to be blacklisted from the industry) does not make you weak. and joe knows that.

sol describing joe PERFECTLY like how i've been yelling about him the past two weeks. joe is SELFLESS and HUMBLE. he simply cannot trouble others AND will take on the pain himself. -> which also explains joe choosing the worst money lender out of all the financial aid offers thrown at him

joe resisting ming during all the kisses in ep.6 until the very last kiss where ming pulled out after joe gave in •́⁠ ⁠ ⁠‿⁠ ⁠,⁠•̀

joe refusing to believe ming could actually love joe 1.0 and choosing to think that ming still likes tong even after he saw the kintsugied cat mugs and ming saying he REALLY MISS P'JOEEEEE when he was drunk.

my stand-in ep 6 really captures well the contents of chapters 50-60 of professional body double. one of the most engrossing things about the 188 novels is how the protagonist ends up in a tangled relationship with the scum ml again in the wife chasing arc. more often than not, 188 scum mls tend to threaten to harm or isolate mcs from their friends and family. which is why i really liked how this was handled in pbd/msi because joe got to negotiate his term and deliberately chose to make this devil's deal with ming on his own, meanwhile ming isn't out there ruining sol's life and his money is gonna actually help mom ing.

I just don't understand how you like S*l? He is actually right up there with T**g for being the worst. There is nothing good about him, sorry.

i don't understand the wild and weird hate against sol (or even remotely comparing him to tong) but here we are, anon. like if joe out right saying sol is a good person can't convince ya'll... idk why you're asking me?

anyway... you asked for my thoughts and opinions, so you shall receive.

sol is just a really interesting dude to me. he's just some guy that i think is really neat. he's a thai kpop idol and FAMOUS famous but he isn't like tong about it. he's kind and just a really good-hearted person. he's the sunny type, cheerful, caring, and loyal to his friends. like joe, sol is a sunflower in the toxic showbiz world msi is set in.

(tbh i see him and ming, who is also a fascinating character, as kind of two sides of the same "rich and famous" coin. ming is cold, aloof, calculating with walls as high as elon crust's ego is inflated. and then there is sol, open and kind-hearted. which is exactly why he and joe hit it off. funny though, ming and sol are petty but like on completely opposite ends of the petty spectrum.)

after lovingly bugging @zhouxiangs for novel spoilers i really wished the series had touched more on sol and joe's history instead of just a few throwaway lines here and there because sol's story ;3; my smol bean of a son. (and this is where media literacy and nuance comes in :D but y'all barely have any of that.)

joe and sol were very close . they ate, trained, and slept (sleeping type of slept lol) together. they did everything together. and then sol found out joe was gay (in the novel sol was also struggling with his sexuality) and then joe confessed to sol. joe liked sol first (not this weird warped reality y'all are living in where sol has been obsessing over joe). but anyway, sol was young and scared and dumb. he was afraid of being taken advantage of and also of his own feelings for joe and he ran away. joe got over it and never held it against him.

while in korea, it seemed that sol struggled to connect with people and went through some tough times as a trainee (i'm quoting from porsche's interview) and he realized his true feelings for joe so when he had the chance to return to thailand he took it and he sought out joe to reconnect. as a friend, as more.

was he supposed to have some sort of psychic link with joe that he was already seeing someone? obviously not. but when joe made it clear he liked ming, sol backed off romantically. he didn't back off as a friend though. (idk about y'all friendless gremlins but if one of my close friends was in the situationship from hell that joe was in... i'd also try and make them see reason, open their eyes. like sol once having feelings for joe does not diminish his friendship with joe. at all. (yes the scene of joe and sol in the van in ep 6 means everything to me. joe and sol were friends, brothers even. and that scene showed it.)

fyi, novel sol recognized joe too :D

ANYWAY, it was interesting to see the change in sol after joe's death. he isn't his usual cheerful self, but he's still kind and polite if a bit more reserved. and i for one love the cattiness with ming he has going on? LEAVE MING ALONE i see y'all shouting but me I WANT HIM TO PUNCH MING IN THE NUTS ONCE (if y'all can project, so can i) like ming deserves to catch a bit of shit from sol (his 'khun chai ming' sent meeee), since his and tong's bullshit directly contributed to the death of his best friend.

is sol perfect? no. (the fight with ming where joe got hurt. or the phone call scene that resulted in joe effectively being cut out of sol's life. again.) but are any of these characters perfect? absolutely not.

sol though is strangely villainized and for what? because he's trying to help and protect his friend (and is maybe being snotty with ming but... deserved tbh lol)? because he might be feeling a little righteous and fafo with the guy who took his friend away from him? because he once had feelings for joe but then redirected them into being a decent human and a good friend?

1. Frankenstein Girls Will Seem Strangely Sexy

I mean this was to be expected, even LJU himself put frankenstein girls at the top when asked his to rank his own records. It’s a classic. You never get bored of it.

2. How I learned To Stop Giving A Shit And Love Mindless Self Indulgence

ok this one is SEVERELY overhated. It’s so good. its like the classic msi sound combined with elements of Jimmy’s solo work, it’s like the theme song to an existential crisis if you focus on songs like hey tomorrow fuck you and your friends yesterday, stalkers, the logical song, and i am not here to make any friends. 3. Self-titled and PINK

I feel like Jimmy revealed a lot about himself by releasing PINK. A lot of it has to do with religious and sexual trauma ….I don’t know what was going on in his head in the 90s when he wrote all those songs but he was getting whatever was bothering him out of his system and turning it into art and I love that 💗

4. Crappy Little Demo + Igor’s Secret Stash

No MSI demo can ever go wrong, U know what I mean. Especially Royally Fucked, Royally Fuckwd is my FAVEEEE . I also love the last track on Crappy Little Demo, it’s controversial but makes such an amazing point. If you don’t understand it just say you’re an idiot and move on.

Supernatural :D  It's this Ep that made me want to play Sims 3. Before that I wasn't interested at all in Sims 3, I liked too much my Sims 2 game :D

2) How long have you been playing sims?

I started to play the first Sims in 2001 and I became completely obssessed with this game  xD Then I played Sims 2 that is actually the one I played the most, for around 10 years, and I started to play the Sims 3 only in 2015

I still came back to Sims 2 recently, because I missed this game very much

3) Do you have any favorite simblrs?

@ashuriphoenix, @simsmidgen, @danjaley are simblrs I love very much, if I have to pick some crushes :D

Actually, I follow very few blogs, so they're all my favorites, everybody has his own recognisable style, and I really like them! :D

4) How would you describe your gameplay?

I love playing with a lot of different sims in different decors. I like that my game looks like a multitude of little stories

5) What made you want to create a simblr?

I was curious to see other people's gameplay, and most of my searches brought me here. I discovered some awesome blogs here and I initially made a simblr mostly to give hearts. I was also interested in posting my own gameplay pictures somewhere but not on tumblr that I'm not comfortable with, I posted some pictures to not have a completely empty blog then I got a few followers who were very nice and supportive and it encouraged me to still post here.

6) What is your favorite Sim age?

Young adult and Adult. I do like adult sims, when they are nicely made I find them prettier than the YA. But I find it difficult to tweak them well, some of my sims were supposed to be Adult when I created them but I finally age them down because they looked weird and I haven't be able to fix it

7) Do you use cheats when you play Sims?

Yes

8) What is your favorite thing about the Sims?

All the hilarious animations / interactions, and the cute ones xD And also how some sims can be endearing characters whether it is my own sims or premade, there are lot of premade sims that I love :D

9) What is your least favorite thing about the Sims?

I don't know, I don't think of what I like the least

10) What expansion pack are you hoping for next?

I already have all Sims 3 EP, and I don’t play Sims 4, but I know I wanted to have Into the Future for long time and I got it only last year, and I'm still in my ITF happiness :3

I like spending long nights on my game :D

I just have a question because I saw your tags in the msi gifset. When you said Ming would have thoughts on he would take care of Joe and Joe should quit, wasn't he still hung up on Tong? Because had Tong reciprocated, the promise of taking care of Joe would mean nothing, no?

i really wish i could share the excerpt of the novel but that would spoil the events of ep.4 this week. so instead i will say answer your question in the most non-spoilery way as possible.

sooooo for my interpretation of the characters, by the time ming and joe had settled into their relationship of 6 months/year (depending on whether you're talking abt the novel or series), i'd say that ming had pretty much set aside his feelings for tong and i don't think ming ever truly LIKED tong as a person but it's more like being attracted to the visual/physicality of a guy (think how you like someone very superficially for their face, you just like staring at them).

and i'd say when mingjoe had settled in their relationship, ming already knew he LIKED being treated nicely by joe. and in the series, you can see it even more clearly through his reciprocal of nice gestures to joe (bare minimum really but oh well that's the nicest we get of ming in this first timeline).

because for me, i don't view him crying over tong as him being still hung up on tong but rather just pain from finally letting go of this unrequited love for an unattainable someone he's had for so long.

but yea back to the point of his promise to take care of joe... now i did say i won't spoil it but i can give vague hints of the context in which it happens... and hopefully after this week's episode airs, i'll remember to share the novel excerpt from this part because i just know the series will definitely NOT adapt it as it is in the novel (it is so so so incredibly toxic it is insane, yet i enjoyed it)

so by the time yan ming xiu (ming) had said that promise to zhou xiang (joe), he had pretty much made up his mind that he wants zx and zx only but his possessiveness over zx made him do... some not very nice things that will happen this week... so please stay tune 😅

MSI Stock Of The Day: Emami Trading North Towerds Its 52-Week High

Emami stock has broken out of a 6-week, 13% deep Cup Without Handle Base 2-weeks ago. However, the stock is still worth watching as the current price is only 0% away from the ideal buy price of INR 547.

The key trend lines, 10 and 40-week moving averages are at a comfortable position. The current trends of both the averages are upward and the 10-week moving average is trending above the 40-week moving average. The current price of the stock is trading around 5.6% away from the 10-week moving average.

In the last twelve months, Emami has rallied nearly 169.1% as compared to 55.3% for the Nifty500. It has a Relative Strength Rating of 61. We definitely would like to see an improvement in the rating. At this point, we are taking a step back and focusing on the RS Line.

The Relative Strength Line of the stock is offering a lot of encouragement to investors. It has been making good progress in the last four weeks. The overall long-term trend of the line is also trending upward. If Emami can maintain this outperformance, it could make sense as a CANSLIM trade.

Emami stock has strong institutional support. The Accumulation/Distribution Rating of 'A' represents heavy institutional buying over the past few weeks. Although the shares held by institutions dropped in the last quarter, the number of institutions holding the stock increased at the same time. This shows increasing interest among the institutions.

The earnings and sales for the stock have grown by 6% and 1%, respectively over the past three years. Its 3-years earnings stability is 15, on a 0 to 99 scale (lower the better). Over the past five years, the earnings and sales for the stock have grown by 1% and 3%, respectively. The 5-years earnings stability is 15. The return on equity for the last reported year is 25%.

The stock belongs to the industry group of Cosmetics/Personal Care. You would still want to see some improvement in the industry group rank for group. The current industry group rank is 140. The current price of Emami is -4% off from its 52-week high price and 187% above its 52-week low price.

Gigabyte анонсировала Aorus X399 XTREME - новую материнскую плату для сокета TR4, которая, кроме всего прочего, подходит для использования с новыми процессорами Threadripper 2. Второе поколение Threadripper в теории будет работать и на существующих платах TR4 с чипсетом X399. Однако повышение TDP процессоров со 180 до 250 Вт означает дополнительные требования к подсистеме питания. Производители уже выпускают материнские платы, в которых этот момент учитывается и которые будут обеспечивать необходимое питание даже при разгоне многоядерных CPU. Кроме MSI MEG X399 Creation сюда теперь можно отнести и новую Aorus X399 XTREME. Достаточное питание для новых процессоров, в том числе и 32-ядерной модели, обеспечивает 10-фазная система. Для подключения к БП используются 24-контактный разъем ATX, два 8-контактных EPS и при необходимости 6-контактный PCIe. Для охлаждения VRM используется тепловая трубка. Однако вместе с большим сокетом TR4 и восемью слотами DDR4 всё это требует много пространства. Поэтому, несмотря на точки крепления как у платы ATX, новинка значительно выступает за крепежные отверстия, и лучше бы использовать с этой платой корпус E-ATX. Aorus X399 XTREME также насчитывает четыре слота PCIe 3.0 x16 и один PCIe x1. Для подключения накопителей есть три разъема M.2 и шесть SATA3. За звук отвечает кодек Realtek ALC1220VB и ЦАП ESS Sabre. Впечатляет и сетевое решение. Здесь пользователь найтет 10-Гбит разъем, управляемый контроллером Aquantia, а также два гигабитных интерфейса через Intel i219-V. Завершает сетевые возможности модуль Intel 9260 W-Lan с поддержкой 802.11ac и Bluetooth. На панели ввода/вывода расположено 10 гнезд USB, восемь из которых поддерживают скорость до 5 Гбит/с, а два - до 10 Гбит/с. Один из последних выполнен в виде USB Type C. Четыре дополнительных USB можно подключить через гребенку. Конечно, подобная материнская плата не обошлась без RGB-подсветки.
