idk who needs to hear this other than kaos netflix, but licensing a song to play every 5 minutes in your tv show does not make up for actually writing some scenes. also, there's almost always a better way to do exposition than through narration, unless you have a clear purpose and/or do it sparingly enough.

#mse's watching kaos #that pilot was... rough #there was a moment where i thought they were gonna do something interesting with the narration at least but nah it didn't help #and because of the aforementioned two points it actually reminded me of first kill not even gonna lie #.....except that show had a better pilot there i said it #i'm sorry! first kill introduced characters and conflicts! i was like okay! i know who this is for!#kaos kept telling me what it was about but 50 minutes went by and i was still expecting a gear change or something to happen #and all this with a budget that was probably way too much if they had to blow it on like 10 licensed songs in one episode or something #it barely did anything because it just kept repeating the same story beats but sometimes a different song played #there was one interesting character that had some stuff going for her and idk how much of the rest of the show she's gonna be in #like i think i wanna give it one more shot because there's interesting potential here #but that was a shit pilot there's no way around it #i didn't even care how much jeff goldblum was jeff goldblum doing
