Mila Muller is an immigrant from Edonia to America trying to pave a future for herself. She is ailed by a chronic blood disease and pursues a future in science both to help others and to help herself--ending up as a measly receptionist at an Umbrella Corps location instead of following her dreams. Mila has never thought much of herself and her status in America has only solidified those feelings. The days become monotonous and forgettable.

As fate would have it she meets a closed off but charming older man and romance begins to blossoms. She opens her veins and her heart to him, and he takes them both without abandon... Could she really find happiness here? Perhaps salvation?

i will be so honest i am the worst at re lore. however, i have a few thoughts!

i think ms. muller definitely caught wesker's eye by being cheeky but sweet. it was probably a one night stand turned fuck buddies situation that got seriously out of hand, and before wesker could handle it he was on the go again. i doubt very seriously they kept in touch, except for maybe a few letters wesker kept close to him but never replied to.

i imagine he likely knew about jake, or at least her pregnancy, but he was in no situation to do anything about it except send her a mysterious amount of money with no words attached. he thinks about her, and his son, and what life could have been sometimes, but after a few years so much happens to him that he represses it to focus on his goals.

once jake grows up he keeps track of him distantly, checking up on his records and their mutually interested parties every so often. he tells himself he does this because, well, he should be anyway, but really he wants to keep the memory of ms. muller alive in his head. he genuinely could have loved her, if given the chance, but now all he allows himself is spoiled memories and glimpses of her through their son

like i just blocked them after that because how are you gonna like wesker, see a scene where he gets touched without consent and think it’s okay for that to happen just because he’s a villain.

nobody deserved to get touched without consent no matter what. it’s honestly insulting because they assume he wasn’t uncomfortable. i say this because many people who experience things like that typically DONT show they’re uncomfortable or give any signs at all. not everybody is going to react the same to being touched without their consent and it’s super insensitive to go “we don’t know if he was uncomfortable” when there are actual victims out there who reacted the way he did. not everybody shows how they feel in those moments

he IS uncomfortable. from his uninterested “hm” to him subtly pushing her away and even to his tone of voice when he talks to her. he IS NOT INTERESTED. it doesn’t even matter if he weren’t uncomfortable, that doesn’t excuse touching people without their consent. the people who say shit like this and try to excuse what excella did clearly haven’t been in any situation like that or know people who have.

Suspicious mentions

Today we will focus on something interesting, a little sad, and also squint and pretend to be surprised by something. A little bit of Jake, a little bit of Wesker.

I wrote once before that I find any mention of Wesker in games since his "death" suspicious, but I want to talk about it again because I have something to add. All of this is my personal opinion, seasoned with facts.

Capcom jettisoned Wesker very early on, failing to find a proper\interesting use for the character other than "antagonist who dies at the end of the game". Wesker has too long and complex a history that intertwines with all the games, and dying so early and so stupidly is obviously not a very worthy development for such a character. And they came to that conclusion too, but very late. This is the reason why Jake Muller, a wonderful character, and the whole thing with his mother was invented. Jake is a nice way for Capcom to continue Wesker's idea, but without him, or an attempt to end his story in a more dignified way by giving him a "suitable successor".

But they couldn't achieve the desired result with Jake either, so they continued to get out of the quagmire they got themselves into because of the ending of re5 by adding references to Wesker in Umbrella Corps, where it's gotten to the point where he's probably alive or his clone is now in charge of the Corps. A convenient way to prepare players for his return? Do they really intend to develop him? I'd like to see that happen.

But no one would be surprised that Wesker isn't dead, knowing his regeneration abilities and so on. So Capcom is forced to write in every note mentioning him that he's dead, reminding everyone that the volcano is his end. But… as we can see, this certainty of his death is the delusion they're trying to make us believe. All those notes, all those mentions… they are unreliable, because no one has ever answered the question "did anyone check out that volcano?". Can anyone in RE at this point be 100% certain that Wesker is dead? I don't think so, since no one has checked his "place of death".

In re7 Capcom decided to remind players of Wesker again, stating that BSAA is now, all of a sudden, partnered with Blue Umbrella, and using Wesker's weapons recovered from his designs. Why bring up Umbrella again? Why give them the same logo as the Corps but in blue colors? Why make Chris use Wesker's weapon? These details were chosen by Capcom for a reason, because games aren't developed in 5 minutes, they are created over years and all these small details are discussed repeatedly. Wesker's weapon also appeared in Umbrella Corps, which kind of hints that Capcom had some development planned for him as early as 2015. Empty references and a sudden clone? No, it's all for a reason. It all carries some sort of meaning and will lead to something in the end.

The note Jake's mother left him before she died reads:

«My beloved son, Jake. Please forgive your mother for leaving you alone so soon. And please don't hate your father. Your father surely still loves you from the bottom of his heart. Stay strong and know that you will meet him one day»

I'd like to talk about Ms. Muller's assurance that Jake will one day meet Wesker. This, of course, could be a dramatic element, telling the viewer that Jake will not meet him, since his father is dead and he is now all alone. However, now, knowing all the facts telling us otherwise, Jake's mother's words sound different. They sound like a prophecy. Why was she sure that Jake and Wesker would meet? How deep is this iceberg?

There are no answers to these questions, we can only hope Capcom continues to pursue this line in future games. Given the presence of a picture of the old Wesker in re8 - they're really determined to develop this subtle storyline. And that's a great thing.

It's about time they stopped killing off "negative" characters at the end of games if they are "negative", because sometimes some of them have great potential for a second life. A character like Wesker, with a background that can only be compared to the deepest iceberg, is capable of something more than just antagonism. And I'm really enjoying the fact that he still hasn't been brought back, only tossing us small details that only slightly hint at his continuing life. After all, this is how a character like this should be revealed, he's perfectly at home in the background, behind the scenes, as someone who doesn't like to get personally involved. He's a head, but not a leader.

And if that's exactly what they're leading us to, they don't want to surprise us with Wesker's return at all. That would be too easy, don't you think?

Ask as much as you want! I love yapping about Wesker and his relationships

I always imagined Ms. Muller to have red curly hair and I always pictured her with like maybe olive skin. I often hc she's either mixed or of Latin American descent (<--- projecting).

Personality wise I think she was kind but not meek. Wesker enjoys someone who can match him intellectually, I think she could match him beat for beat and was someone who could take him off guard in ways other people couldn't. I think she was probably highly intelligent and I get the idea she probably had an inkling there was more to him than he let on. I know a lot of people like to headcanon Ms. Muller was oblivious about his work, but I think deep down she was aware Wesker had his ghosts. I picture their break up was somewhat mutual - Wesker breaking up with her to protect her from his job in Umbrella, and on her part, she probably felt like Wesker held her at an arms length or didn't trust her enough.

I like to think she clashed with him a lot. That she might have felt he didn't view her as strong enough and that she was weak due to her kind nature and perhaps soft-spoken demeanor.

When I think of his relationship with Ms. Muller, I think of Wesker basically self sabotaging himself. He had a healthy relationship, a woman who loved him and he could let his guard down around and just... be human with, but he was too stubborn and paranoid.

On Jake Muller's mother

Anyone else think way too hard about her and Wesker?

Before I begin this I would like to apologize for the way that I write despite English being my primary language 🔥

RE6 introduces Jake Muller, Albert Wesker's stupid son. I'm sure the thought "omg Wesker fucked" crossed everyone's minds when this plot point was first revealed

I personally had the thoughts "RE6 was dumb as hell and the whole thing with Wesker having a son probably wasn't thought out very well. This is a detail that doesn't matter." and "It was probably a quickie with a stranger - someone he sought out specifically to have sex with. Someone he didn't care about."

We don't have a lot of information on Jake's mom, except:

She was born in Edonia

She was in her early 20's when she immigrated to the USA from Edonia and had the chance to meet Wesker

She returned to Edonia and gave birth to Jake without telling Wesker

She was mild-mannered and did her best to raise Jake

She loved Wesker

She died from an illness that she couldn't afford to treat

and

Wesker is described to have "abandoned" her and Jake

Just the fact that she was still in love with Wesker as Jake was growing up gives the impression that they had something a little more than a random quick fuck. Like, please read this letter to Jake from his mom.

"I love you, Jake. I'm so sorry to have to leave you like this. Please forgive me. And please, don't hate your father. I'm sure he loves you and is thinking about you, and I know you two will find each other someday. Stay strong."

RE6 takes place in 2013, and at that time Jake was 20 years old. If he was born in 1993, that means he was conceived in 1992-1993. According to Wesker's Report II, Wesker left the Arklay Laboratory in 1991 and transferred to Umbrella's intelligence division/information department.

(I refuse to believe that Wesker was in the army. I cannot find a reliable source for it beyond the '96 BIO HAZARD guide book published by Kodansha, a 1994 bio image from when he was still named Hustler, and this bio image that I cannot for the life of me find the source for.)

Wesker was absolutely not immune to attraction. Upon inspecting his desk 50x in a row in the original RE2, you can take an undeveloped roll of film from it that turns out to be a photo of Rebecca in an R.P.D. sports bra + shorts set.

(You could argue that he was simply keeping tabs/info on everyone while he was Captain because he was sooooo careful like that. But I'm not seeing an undeveloped film of Barry in a skimpy little outfit hidden deep within his desk, so... 🤨)

You know what? Sorry for pointing this out, but it's been weighing heavy on my mind. This is the only time I'm ever gonna get to talk about this. In 1998, Rebecca was 18, and Wesker was 38. Jake Muller's mom was described as being in her early 20's when she immigrated to the US. Wesker was 32-33 when he impregnated Ms. Muller. Every fiber of my being thinks he may have had a thing for sweet, young brunette women.

...Anyway, I'm sure Wesker was at least somewhat nice to Jake's mom, especially considering how much she loved him even years later. Wesker is an arrogant bastard, but he's shown time and time again that he's very capable of playing nice with others. (See: S.T.A.R.S. and Excella.)

I mean, every time he played nice it was because he had ulterior motives, but I don't think he had any reason to manipulate Jake's mom. If he wanted quick sex, he could've gone out and had it with anyone. He wasn't working at the Arklay Laboratory in the middle fuck-ass nowhere anymore. And he wasn't in S.T.A.R.S. yet, so he wasn't in the public eye. If he wanted to get his dick wet and be done with it, he could've done exactly that, but he stuck around Ms. Muller long enough for her to develop strong feelings.

As for the abandoning part... I'm just grasping for anything at this point, but I'm sure that after a while Wesker realized that this (relationship?) wasn't something he could, or wanted to keep up. Nothing was more important to Wesker than his plans. Everything he did was to further his own goals, and Ms. Muller didn't fit into them. Plus he never had issues cutting ties.

The fact that Jake's mom left without a single word about her pregnancy makes me think that he gave her a very good reason not to contact him. I mean, maybe he just up and disappeared one day, but the way that things are worded in the RE6 files gives the impression that Ms. Muller chose not to contact him, not that she couldn't.

Maybe he said something along the lines of "I can't see you anymore." As for a good reason, "I'm not someone you want to associate with; I'm not someone you're going to be able to see in the long run." And then for good measure, "Please do not try to reach me."

I can't stop thinking about all the possible ways they could have met, and what Wesker saw in her, and what she saw in him in return.

This is cheesy and overdone, but maybe they met at a coffee shop Wesker frequented. Ms. Muller saw him regularly, and thought he was a little funny in the way he ordered the same thing every day and never seemed to take off those dark sunglasses.

Small glances and acknowledgements of his presence turned into greetings and smiles. Each of them became a part of the others' daily routine, until one day Ms. Muller decided to strike up a conversation.

Wesker, who is usually too caught up in his own ideas and goals to care about anyone but himself, finds that he doesn't particularly mind the woman's presence. Wesker finds it easy to speak to her - refreshing, even. These interactions are not an inconvenience.

Ms. Muller, in my head, would be the first one to suggest that they hang out beyond their little coffee shop encounters. I don't think the thought would have even occurred to Wesker - and he'd surprise himself by saying yes.

Wesker ends up taking nice, long walks with her. Talking with her but mostly just listening to her speak, because although he finds her to be foolish in her naivety and kindness, he also finds her charming for those exact traits. I don't think he'd tell her a damn thing about what he does or what his main interests are.

Maybe he even spends a bit of money on her. He doesn't splurge, of course - money, although he cares not for it, is a tool he could use at a later date. But that necklace she saw through the shop window, or a small lunch when they've both got the time... spending money on those things is harmless enough. Just this once.

I doubt Wesker would want anyone over at his place, even if it does lack many personal touches because all he uses it for is to shower and sleep. He hates the thought of anyone touching, or worse, looking through his things.

But he'd be fine going over to her place, and he ends up doing just that, saying 'yes' to her invitation and...

Jake was born in 1992, the same year that a project was announced to revitalize Raccoon City. This project included a new hospital, and as we know was sponsored by Umbrella The above two bullets are canon. The following are not

Just prior to Jake's birth, Wesker returned stateside. He did know that Ms Muller was with child, though she hid it from him

She was being protective due to starting to catch on that this man was more than just an army officer; there was something else, but when confronted, this was when he told her that he was leaving the country.

Contrary to Jake's belief, Wesker did send her funds on a recurring basis, though he never saw her again. She did not have a favorable opinion of him

This stopped in 1998. After the mansion incident and his rebirth, his priorities shifted.

He needed to be untraceable while pillaging the rubble of Umbrella, and he found himself no longer feeling responsibility for the child he left behind. After all, he had sent them an incredible amount of money already, and she hadn't even felt the need to tell him about the situation. There was much to do, and this task was no longer important to him

He did not know that Jake's mother had fallen ill. Her treatments required an exuberant cost just for her to remain alive, and her funds dwindled until they ran out. At this point, she was unable to continue working

Ms Muller died in the early 2000's, leaving Jake behind
