The X-Files Inspiration: The Avengers's Mr. Steed and Mrs. Peel
Found this while hunting up quotes for my "CC Planned MSR From the Beginning" miniseries.
CC's First Interview While Advertising the Pilot:
“David and Gillian are very bright,” Carter said. “They truly are the characters. Their relationship is cerebral and subtly sexy. Fox and Dana remind me of John Steed and Emma Peel in ‘The Avengers.’ ”
So, who were John Steed and Emma Peel?
JOHN STEED
During the first season Steed's character was a more rough-and-tumble operative than the suave, sophisticated gentleman he became during the Gale and Peel eras. His most common style of dress as Dr. Keel's sidekick was a trenchcoat and suit.... (Note: By the second season, Steed had dispensed with the trenchcoat and was found wearing the familiar three-piece suits with which he is afterward identified.)
Out of all his partners, he was closest to Mrs Peel; while their interaction was often laced with dry, sardonic wit on both sides, he respected her as an equal, and owed her his life on more than a few occasions.

EMMA PEEL
Regarded as a 1960s fashion icon and sex symbol, the character is often remembered for the leather catsuit sometimes worn by [Diana] Rigg in her early episodes.
Peel is a strong heroine; she is rarely defeated in fights and is capable of rescuing Steed if he is in trouble. She is a master of martial arts and a formidable fencer. A certified genius, she specialises in chemistry and other sciences.

AND WHAT WAS THEIR DYNAMIC?
As described by Wikipedia (and this article):
Peel's verbal interactions with Steed range from witty banter to thinly disguised innuendo. Regarding the constant question of whether they had a sexual relationship at any time, Patrick Macnee thought the characters went to bed on a very regular basis (just not in view of the camera). However, Rigg thought they were most likely engaging in an enjoyable extended flirtation that ultimately went nowhere. Writer/producer Brian Clemens said he wrote them with the idea that they had an affair before Emma's first appearance in the series,[6] and they certainly appear to already know each other very well when Emma is first introduced.
Further:
But most of all I love the relationship between Steed and Emma. While they clearly adore one another, they also treat each other with great respect. Theirs is "one of those glorious, deeply intimate flirtations that spin off into infinity," to use Diana Rigg's [Emma Peel] words.
In other words: the eternal "will they, won't they?"

strange case characters and if they would peel a orange for someone (character study kinda)
henry jekyll- he would peel a orange for someone but most of the time he really dosent want to, he just needs to keep up appearances. Grimaces a little and gives a forced smile while he does it
edward hyde- takes the orange like he’s gonna peel it but either throws it or eats it himself. Probably walks away with it in his hand or eats it in front of the person
gabriel utterson- peels it but dosent say anything while doing it but the silence isn’t awkward, it’s pleasant
hastie lanyon- peels it and gives some fact about nutrition while he does it or some personal story that involves oranges (the story has no punchline to it or shocking thing that happens, but he tells it like it’s the funniest thing that ever happened)
poole- peels it and does a really good job at it
richard einfield- terrible at peeling oranges, punctures the slices with his thumb when he does it and it gets all sticky
