Seeing Kate do the freshly-mopped-floor shuffle is one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen her do lol
I’ve heard a lot of criticism about Mrs. Columbo, but this…. this is perfection.
There’s literally nothing cuter than seeing celebrities do such everyday human things and I love this little scene so much

If I had a nickel for every time one of Kate Mulgrew's characters hustled someone at pool, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
(Unless it happened a third time I don't know about.)

Tbh, if Columbo made a Tumblr account, it would be spelled like yours but only because it was a typo.
I had a genuine question, but I totally forgot what it was. Sorry.
i think columbo would hear about blogging from mrs columbo and want to try it for himself, so she'd help him set up a page. he'd have no idea how to make his own posts so he just reblogs pictures of basset hounds all day ♥️

Columbo's wife is real
I've been watching a lot of Columbo lately and I've been reminded of something that really bugs me. There is a lot to love about this show, but the titular detectives wife is easily one of my favorite aspects of the series.
I'm just fascinated by her. He talks about her all the time and even though we never see her once she feels like she's always there. The problem is that because we never see her Some people like to theorize that the ever elusive Mrs. Columbo, doesn't actually exist and is just a part of an act that Lt. Columbo puts on to disarm his suspects. I think that's ridiculous for several reasons.
In the episode Troubled Waters Columbo goes on a cruise with his wife. He spends a good deal of time in the beginning of the episode trying to find Mrs. Columbo, as they have been accidentally separated from one another. He runs around frantically searching for her, describing her to several people aboard the ship. He does all of this before there is even a crime committed aboard.
Not only would he have no reason to pretend to have a wife with no murderers about, but give a clear description of a woman that doesn't exist to so many cruise ship employees.
He talks about his wife all the time to other people on the police force. I remember one scene where he tells an officer that the reason he's so tired is that his wife was sick and he was up taking care of her all night (I love this man he is adorable). If you had a guy at your workplace who was always talking about a fake wife and sharing anecdotes about a phantom woman wouldn't you think there was something wrong with him? none of his co workers seem to think he's crazy.
What really confirms it for me is those times when he speaks to her on the phone while nobody else is in the room. Sometimes she even calls him, and it's adorable. This man's wife is real and he loves her very much.

Mrs Columbo is a lot more enjoyable if you realise that it’s Janeway on the holodeck living out her own fanfic of Columbo before she was made Captain.
It would also make her being in Murder She Wrote as 3 different people make complete sense.

I find my reaction to depictions of Mrs Columbo (the show or fanart etc) to be really funny. Something deep in my heart has known that you shouldn't see her since I was very little and my grandma first showed me an episode. I get this visceral emotional response as though I have just laid my eyes upon a graven image or something.
