I’ve heard a lot of criticism about Mrs. Columbo, but this…. this is perfection.

I find my reaction to depictions of Mrs Columbo (the show or fanart etc) to be really funny. Something deep in my heart has known that you shouldn't see her since I was very little and my grandma first showed me an episode. I get this visceral emotional response as though I have just laid my eyes upon a graven image or something.

Mrs Columbo is a lot more enjoyable if you realise that it’s Janeway on the holodeck living out her own fanfic of Columbo before she was made Captain.

It would also make her being in Murder She Wrote as 3 different people make complete sense.

Have you ever seen the show Mrs Columbo? It's not good at all but it's.... interesting? No way is it canon. The only reason I know it existed is bc some episodes are included as special features in the Columbo dvd collection.

canon it ain't! i've talked about it here and here. love kate mulgrew, but the show was reviled by pretty much everyone including peter falk. they straight-up had to change the name to ''kate loves a mystery'' less than halfway through and ended up canceling it.

having watched it myself, it's a...tolerable show in its own right, but its attempted ties to columbo completely spoiled any chance at success.
