Loving You - I didn't want to repeat songs so I'm putting Loving You's titular song in place of Lonesome Cowboy (which I used in a previous post). To me Loving You is so reflective of not only Deke but Elvis. He felt such a horrible loneliness, and just wanted to have people to love.

Home Is Where The Heart Is - This is the type of ballad that should be played more often. It's so downplayed but you have strong, soft vocals carry it. You get the idea that he's really trying to woo Rose.

The Girl I Never Loved - It's a tie between this and You Don't Know Me but mannnn both of these songs are too good for a movie like Clambake. You actually get the idea that Scott has emotional feelings for Dianne. He's not the playboy type of character in this film, so these ballads actually have meaning. You feel bad for him that he's stuck in this one-sided romance.

Elvis Top Three - Underrated Soundtrack Songs

Hey Elvis lovers! I’m calling on you all for more of your favorite Elvis music! ❤️ This time, let’s hear your top three underrated soundtrack songs! I think sometimes there are songs that get overlooked because the movie wasn’t so great, or maybe it’s a lesser known song from a movie full of hits. Let me hear what you think! 😘

All I Needed Was the Rain (Stay Away Joe) - I don’t know why, but I’m a sucker for a song about rain, and I just find this one beautiful. Sorry if you love the movie, but this song (and of course Elvis’ beauty) is the only thing that made this movie worthwhile to me.

I Want to Be Free (Jailhouse Rock) - Jailhouse Rock has so many great songs that I think this one gets overlooked and doesn’t get the love it deserves. His delivery is so unique; I love the sort of staccato way he repeats some of the syllables. And the way he sings the refrain makes me think maybe these lyrics held some meaning for him.

So Close, Yet So Far (Harum Scarum) - This is another one for me that became the only reason the movie was worth watching. I think he gives a really passionate performance here, especially considering he was very disillusioned with how badly the movie was going when it was one that he had held high hopes for (from what I’ve read). Even in the lesser movies, this is a great example of how his talent shines through. ❤️

Runner-Up: Didja Ever (G.I. Blues) - Elvis seemed like he was having fun in this movie, and it shows in this performance. Even though some of the lyrics are a bit sexist (although I can’t imagine wanting to “just watch the show” with Elvis), I think the song is funny and it makes me smile.

Ten Random Facts

- I was raised and currently live in Kalama, WA but lived in Texas for 3 years and I miss it heartily

- My wedding was on Halloween night in Kyle Cemetery, TX and my honeymoon was in Providence, RI

- I currently have two multichapter fics from two different fandoms and a sequel fic for a third fandom that remain unfinished because Elvis Presley has whisked me away completely

- I am Christian but don’t really know what denomination

- My husband is my entire life. Before him I was just a ramshackle construct of damage and obsessions. He is my refuge and my inspiration. I could talk for hours and hours about the myriad of ways he has enriched my life and it would be a mere fraction of what he is to me.

- If you read Celephais and The Loved Dead by HP Lovecraft you’ll have some idea of who I was before my marriage

- Saeran Choi (Ray) from Mystic Messenger is the fictional character with the most profound impact on my personal development

- I love seafood so so much

- One of my favorite pastimes is just wandering around in the wilderness. I want to live where there are just trees and no people for miles around

This is the set of Tickle Me and you gotta wonder what Norman Taurog is saying that Elvis would look both shocked and disgusted.

This is from a 1956 show and should've been on all kinds of magazines saying "Elvis was possessed by the devil" because you can't even make out his pupils. His eyes looked like they rolled all the way back in his head.

I have no idea what the context is for this pic. I saw one source say this is from Double Trouble but I'm not sure about that. If anyone's able to find the story about this I'd love to hear it.

Im starting a proyect that basically is a manga where elvis has superpowers and the Protagonist (Katherine) needs a piece of his power to defeat one of the most strong gods(?) (im not sure about what type of human or monster is gonna be this villian but i'll start working on that!!) and she is the only one that can withstand that type of power without dying or destroy all the earth....

But elvis won't give that piece of power so easily, Challenging her to a duel where if she wins she can take that little piece but... If she loses... She dies.

SOOOO basically Depending on the jumpsuit that he wears he has different powers (example; the burning love suit, with that he can spit fire or use fire) and I would love that you will vote for an extra jumpsuit or era (because I already got like ten jumpsuits and eras for this manga but this one is just for you 💗).
