hyperfixating on Pirates of the Caribbean rn and upon second rewatch of the whole series in the row, I realize Mr. Gibbs used to sail under James Norrington
all of a sudden I have a NEED for sparrington fanfiction where mr. gibbs tries to set them up or mutual friend joshamee gibbs... it feel like untapped territory

Detective Chambers: Murdered a lot of talented people, and he just happens to just be covered in blood like you are, I wonder why...
Redacted, panicking: That's strange, how strange, he must need to take a shower!

It’s been a while, but here—
Imagine Jack Sparrow and his crew battling it out against a band of rogue pirates aboard the Pearl one day.
Imagine during the battle, Jack catches a glimpse of his eight-and-a-half year old nephew Henry fleeing two pirates up on deck.
Imagine Jack pelting after them, thinking furiously to himself that Henry wasn’t even supposed to be here, what is he doing here?!
Imagine Jack nearly reducing both men to puddles after finding them in a room where they had Henry cornered, and the crew rushing in to take both to the brig on his orders.
Imagine Jack sheathing his sword as the room empties, just leaving him and Henry, who’s happier than a clam to see him…before Jack slowly turns around to meet his eyes with a cold look of barely-restrained fury.
Imagine Jack quietly uttering out “Henry. Weatherby. Turner. Come with me right now, boy.”
Puts a chill in the bones, I say.

Something I like about the show, which isn’t even really to do with the show but the actual cast, is how many of the regular and recurring actors are left-handed.
Obviously, it’s not intentional but out of the shows I’ve watched, TUA definitely has the most cast members that fit the bill.
Only two of them I knew before watching the show but off the top of my head, they are (I’m using the characters names):
Diego Hargreeves
Klaus Hargreeves*
Five Hargreeves
Lila Pitts
The Handler
Hazel
Agnes
Young Harlan
Mr. Gibbs (the FBI guy in S2)**
* I knew from watching Misfits
** I knew from watching Killjoys and Being Erica

now that the “ they both reached for the gun” song is trending, im SO pissed that the spy school movies haven’t been made yet, because the amount of EDITS that could’ve been made to this song alone? INFINITE. The betrayal reveal in the first book. The reveal that joshua knew about Ben being a double agent in ESS. the scene where ben and murray both LITERALLY REACHED FOR A GUN in secret service. the scene with mrs e in SSBI. the betrayal scene in ssr (not the best moment in the fandom but still works) the scene where murray pushes ben off the boat in SSAS, and most recently the glacier scene in SSGN. WHY ARE THERE NO MOVIES IM TWEAKING

I actually liked the way Otis and Maeve's story ended (I say this as someone who has shipped them since season 1). My only problem is that I feel like there weren't special moments between them like there used to be in season 1, or sometimes in season 2, that would have made their break up feel more impactful. I feel like Aimee and Maeve's relationship ended up outshining them, and even Isaac's small moment with Maeve this season felt like more of a connection than Otis had with her this season. I definitely loved what Maeve shared with Aimee and Isaac and would not change a thing. But, I would also add awesome Motis moments like we got when the show first came out. But I feel like the letter sort of made up for all the bullshit that went down between them and explained why she loved him. I still would have preferred if there were some season 1-like moments though.
Also, I didn't really like Ruby's last scene with Otis. I think it was a sign that she was putting herself first instead choosing to hang out with Otis when she clearly wasn't over him, which was good. But I wish the dialogue had been different. Or maybe I've completely misinterpreted the scene?
I actually quite liked this season overall for all of the characters, especially Maeve, Aimee, Ruby, Isaac, and Eric. I think Adam's arc was good too, he was just never my personal favourite.
Also, did anyone else expect that Molloy dude to steal Maeve's work? And a book from Maria Bronte's perspective sounds really interesting to me.
