Optimus Prime

I found this in the wild at Target on 10-04-21.

Optimus Prime how he appeared in the 2018 Bumblebee movie. He was a bit pricey at a bout $125, however I had the funds, so I bought it. Even though the figure is packaged in robot mode, as usual I will start off with the vehicle mode first.

You’d think with something as a Masterpeice figure I’d have a lot to say about Optimus Prime, but I really don’t. Partially due to my backlog and my want to get everything posted, and partially because as much as I like the figure it didn’t blow me away. So will keep everything brief.

Vehicle Mode:

Truck mode is a flatnose, cab over engine truck.

The details are really nice, with all the rivets and the gill.

The truck rolls fine, though the truck sit too low to the ground.

The gas tanks seem to be the some of the few pieces of metal on the figure, and it’s unpainted just raw metal; it’s pretty cool.

I’m not a fan of the cat ears near the back of the cab. I don’t remember that being part of the truck in the movie, but it’s been a while, so maybe it was there? Still, I hate it.

One complaint that I have is that the front of the truck as his dry brush soot on the gray front parts but on the side of the truck is perfectly clean and white; it would have been nice had HasTak kept soot deco consistent.

Though the rear of the truck is very kibbly and you don’t even see a trailer hitch, and for that matter why doesn’t Optimus Prime come with a trailer? He was seen hauling one at the finale of the movie.

Comparing MPM12 Optimus Prime to MPM and the ROTF leader class ‘Bayformers’ Optimus too.

All three are of comparable size

MPM Optimus hauling MP10 Optimus’ trailer is not bad, though it is slightly at an angle; you can almost get away with it.

Transformation:

Transforming Prime is not too dissimilar to the Studio Series version of the toy, but with a lot more steps.

It’s wasn’t too complicated, but I though of the plastic was a little too thin for my comfort so I handled the figure carefully. Overall it’s one I can do without the need of instructions.

Robot Mode:

What can I say; this is live action Optimus Prime done right! He looks like the figure, he’s still got a lot of the Bayformers kibbly stuff without sacrificing Optimus Prime’s overall look.

There’s a lot of detail to drink in here. You don’t really have the belly grill anymore, but you have something close enough to it. You got robo-pipes and wires, and yet the yellow arrows on his forearms. It’s a balanced look to Optimus Prime.

And speaking of balanced you can pose Optimus Prime on one leg in a running pose.

My one complaint about the robot mode are Optimus’ hands...what the hell is this? A Masterpiece figure is meant to be high-quality and yet Prime’s hands are at a permanent right angle where there should be hinges at the knuckles. Come one Hasbro; you cheaped out on us on a Masterpiece figure.

Accessories:

Optimus comes with two accessories. a variation on his classic ion rifle and a Matrix of leadership tucked away in his chest.

Removing the Matrix and Optimus can hold it in his hands and it’s di cast metal, and it looks pretty good too.

Final Thoughts:

MPM12 Optimus Prime is a solid figure. The sculpting is great, he poses well, is good to handle, however there could have some more effort put into some of the deco, and I’m not liking his arthritis hands.

12. Was there a scene you wished you could have included? Why didn't it fit in?

Ughhhh there were so many scenes I wanted! But they veered off the track of the fic. One in particular was a scene where Jared got a pretty bad cold and Jensen had to take care of him, but didn't know exactly how. Jared had to give him instructions (make tea, make bland meals) until he got too sick to do so due to a high fever. He weakly tells Jensen to bring him Tylenol, but Jensen doesn't understand what Ty-lel-onol is or what it looks like. Jensen has to run halfway to the pack and howl for Kaz to come over. I love this scene in my head, but it just didn't fit into the fic. :(

26. Wild Card! I'll tell you a fun fact about this fic!

I got a book about wolves from a dear friend when I visited them in Denver! Kinda funny that I went all the way to Denver and came back with a (very useful) book on wolves.

Another fun fact is that the name Kaz comes from one of the license plates of the Impala from SPN. XD

Militar que atirou em colega dentro de quartel de Marabá é condenado

O Superior Tribunal Militar (STM) condenou, por maioria de votos, o aspirante a oficial do Exército Brasileiro Jeykson Kalyl da Silva Perufo por homicídio culposo. A pena é de 1 ano, 2 meses e 12 dias de detenção. Em 17 de junho de 2014, há quase cinco anos, um soldado ouviu disparos de arma de fogo e barulhos vindos da mata do 23º Batalhão Logístico de Selva (23º B Log Sl), em Marabá.

Conforme os relatos daquela noite, este soldado percebeu a presença de um homem segurando uma arma. Ele teria determinado que a pessoa parasse, mas o homem fugiu. Em razão disso, foram formados dois grupos para realizar buscas na mata.

O aspirante a tenente teria efetuado um disparo de advertência com pistola e foi questionado por um colega se a outra patrulha não poderia estar na linha de tiro. Respondeu que não e então o aspirante efetuou um disparo em direção à mata e o projétil atingiu o peito do cabo Thiago Rafael Carneiro de França, de 21 anos, que morreu. O caso foi amplamente divulgado pela imprensa regional à época. Conforme o processo, em seguida, mais tiros foram disparados em direção à mata.

Após cessarem os tiros, ouviram alguém gritar de dentro da mata que havia um militar ferido. O cabo chegou a ser socorrido e encaminhado ao Hospital de Guarnição de Marabá (HGuMba), mas não resistiu. Jeykson chegou a ser absolvido pelo Conselho Especial de Justiça da Auditoria da 8ª CJM, em Belém, mas o Ministério Público Militar (MPM) questionou a decisão e apresentou recurso ao STM.

Para o Ministério Público, ao efetuar disparo com arma de fogo em direção a uma mata fechada, sem saber em que estava atirando, o tenente agiu de forma “absolutamente imprudente, o que torna imperativa a condenação do Apelado pela prática do crime de homicídio culposo”. O ministro Alvaro Luiz Pinto, declarou em seu voto, que o simples fato de efetuar disparos com arma de fogo, em linha reta, na direção de uma mata fechada, contra “cochichos”, sem a mínima condição de identificar o suposto alvo, demonstra imprudência e agir precipitado por parte do militar.

Segundo o ministro, “a distância, a escuridão da noite e a existência de mata fechada entre o local de onde o tenente efetuou os disparos com munição real e o ponto em direção ao qual estava atirando não lhe permitiam fazer o reconhecimento preciso de pessoas, e sequer se eventualmente tais pessoas representavam ameaça à segurança do quartel ou à integridade física do Apelado e demais militares que compunham a força de reação”.

A defesa do aspirante alegou legítima defesa, que não foi aceita porque o militar não tinha contato visual com ninguém no momento dos disparos e porque o procedimento exigido no caso de um invasor seria abordagem e voz de prisão.
