Don't know about UDIF, but HFS+ does support transparent compression. There is an opensource tool called afsctool that will be able to convert your files into compressed state. Not sure whether the tool will work on Linux, as I think it uses build-in Mac OS X api. Choose one of the following Mac OS Extended file system formats for compatibility with Mac computers using macOS 10.12 or earlier. Mac OS Extended (Journaled): Uses the Mac format (Journaled HFS Plus) to protect the integrity of the hierarchical file system. Choose this option if you don’t need an encrypted or case-sensitive format. AFSC (Apple File System Compression) tool is a utility that can be used to apply HFS+ compression to file (s), decompress HFS+ compressed file (s), or get information about existing HFS+ compressed file (s). Mac OS 10.6 or later is required. # afsctool -s 10 -vc /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CC 2015 /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CC 2015: Number of HFS+ compressed files: 7286 Total number of files: 8218 Total number of folders: 2499 Total number of items (number of files + number of folders): 10717 Folder size (uncompressed; reported size by Mac OS 10.6+ Finder): bytes.

A full installation of Final Cut Studio 3 with all media content (for Motion, DVD Studio Pro, and Soundtrack Pro Loops) takes up around 40-50 GB of hard drive space. How about regaining 5-10 GB of precious by enabling HFS compression for these folders? Since HFS compression is completely transparent, there are no adverse effects to expect (other than browsing the content libraries being almost unnoticeably slower).

To start, you’ll need a command-line tool called afsctool which can compress (and, amongst other features, decompress) folders using HFS compression. The command you’ll need to run is e.g. sudo afsctool -c -l -k -v -i -9 /Library/Application Support/Final Cut Studio. This compresses all files the given folder using the highest possible compression, verifies its results, prints out the names of files it is unable to compress, and outputs statistics once it’s done.

Some of the folders I compressed: /Library/Application Support/Final Cut Studio/ (contains Motion and DVD Studio Pro templates): 22.5% compression savings /Library/Application Support/LiveType/ (contains Motion’s LiveType fonts): 11.4% compression savings /Library/Application Support/GarageBand/ (contains GarageBand’s instruments and learning-to-play stuff): 14.3% compression savings /Library/Application Support/iDVD/ (contains iDVD’s themes): 19.5% compression savings /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/ (contains GarageBand’s and Soundtrack Pro’s loops): 4.1% /Library/Audio/Impulse Responses/ (contains Soundtrack Pro’s impulse response data): 41.3% compression savings

Me prometí volver a escribir cuando estuviera enamorada.

Y sí, lo estoy pero no de una persona en particular sino de todas aquellas las que me rodean, estoy enamorada de la vida y sus matices, de los días blancos y hasta de los grises.

Solo hasta hace poco logré entender la grandeza del amor, ese amor que muchas veces no expresamos pero que sentimos vivamente en nuestros corazones. Ese amor intangible y que no se puede medir, que con solo una mirada, un gesto, una palabra, una sonrisa, podemos trasmitir.

Muchas veces me pregunté ¿por qué enamorarse duele? y llegué a la conclusión de que no precisamente es que duela, la respuesta es que nos da miedo. Miedo a que nos lastimen, miedo a no ser correspondidos, miedo al fracaso, miedo al engaño, etc.

Quizás ese miedo sea tan solo una respuesta a experiencias pasadas, o simplemente es porque aun no hemos tenido la oportunidad de vivirlo a plenitud.

Hoy después de tanto tiempo me atrevo a afirmar que amar es una decisión, es compartir de la felicidad del otro, es darse la oportunidad de experimentar un sinnúmero de emociones sin esperar nada a cambio, por el contrario, lo que recibimos es mucha paz y tranquilidad en nuestros corazones.

La fuerza que mueve al mundo es la fuerza del amor , del amor por tu familia, tus amigos, por tu novio o novia, por tu compañero de trabajo o de estudio.

A diario se nos da la oportunidad de amar y ser amados y no es tan difícil después de todo; solo basta con estar dispuestos a dar, a dar de eso que tienes.  Y es que es amando como se resuelven los conflictos, porque amar es también perdonar, es entender que no todo es perfecto y que todo hace parte de una oportunidad de crecimiento.

Por último, te invito a que empieces a amar hasta el final de tus días, a valorar cada momento que no es mas que un regalo, y a ti que estas enamorado aprovéchalo, vívelo y no dejes que nada ni nadie te quite las ganas de seguir amando.
