Thi is my personal tribute to David Lynch. His world has always felt like a parallel universe, one where dreams, mystery, and beauty coexist in the strangest of ways. These snapshots are my way of celebrating the magic he creates, from the eerie glow of Twin Peaks to the haunting poetry of his films and books. Here's to the man who taught us to find the strange in the familiar, and to embrace the darkness with a sense of wonder.

David Keith Lynch (January 20, 1946 – January 15, 2025)

David Lynch ploughed a highly idiosyncratic furrow in American cinema: from his beginnings as an art student making experimental short films, to the cult success of his surreal first feature Eraserhead, and on to a string of award-winning films including Blue Velvet, Wild at Heart andMulholland Drive, as well as the landmark TV show Twin Peaks. He received three best director Oscar nominations (for Blue Velvet, The Elephant Man and Mulholland Drive), and was given an honorary lifetime achievement Oscar in 2019.

Mr Lynch also avidly practiced transcendental meditation, setting up the David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace in 2005

He won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes film festival for Wild at Heart in 1990.

From the haunting industrial nightmare of Eraserhead to the dreamlike noir of Mulholland Drive, Lynch's work pushed the boundaries of cinematic art. His ability to delve into the subconscious, uncovering both its beauty and its terror, left audiences in awe and often unsettled.

With Twin Peaks, he redefined television, proving that the medium could be just as daring and profound as film.

Lynch's influence reaches far beyond his own works. His unique style-characterized by his use of sound, uncanny imagery, and nonlinear storytelling-has inspired countless filmmakers, musicians, and artists across the globe. He showed us that it's okay to embrace the weird, to explore the unknown, and to find beauty in the darkness.
