Things To Look Before Buying A Motorized Projector Screen
If you're looking for a Motorised Projector Screen, it's important to consider a few key factors before making a purchase. The right screen can make all the difference in your home theater or conference room setup, so it's worth taking the time to choose the best one for your needs. Here are some things to keep in mind when buying a motorized projector screen.
Screen Size and Aspect Ratio
The first thing to consider when purchasing a motorized projector screen is the size of the screen and its aspect ratio. The size of the screen will depend on the size of your room and how far away your audience will be sitting. A larger screen is usually better for bigger rooms and audiences, while a smaller screen may be more appropriate for a smaller room or audience. Additionally, you'll want to consider the aspect ratio of the screen. This refers to the ratio of the screen's width to its height, and you'll want to choose one that matches the aspect ratio of your projector.
Screen Material
The material of the screen is another important consideration. The most common types of screen materials are matte white and grey, which are both designed to reflect the projected image evenly across the screen. Matte white screens are generally better for rooms with low ambient light, while grey screens are better for rooms with higher ambient light. You can also find screens with different levels of gain, which refers to how much light the screen reflects. A higher gain screen will reflect more light, but may also produce a narrower viewing angle.
Motorized Mechanism
The Motorized TV Lift Mechanism is what makes the screen retractable and can be either a ceiling or wall mounted motor. It's important to consider the quality of the motor and how it operates. You'll want to choose a motor that is reliable, operates quietly, and has a smooth and controlled descent. You should also consider how the motor is powered, as some screens are battery-powered, while others are connected to an electrical outlet. If you're planning on using the screen frequently, it may be worth investing in a high-quality motor for longer-lasting performance.
Remote Control
A remote control is an essential part of a motorized projector screen, as it allows you to operate the screen from a distance. Make sure the remote control is easy to use and has a clear range of operation. Some screens also have additional features, such as a built-in receiver for a universal remote control or the ability to control the screen through a smartphone app.
Installation and Maintenance
Finally, it's important to consider the installation and maintenance of the screen. You'll want to make sure the screen is easy to install and can be mounted securely. It's also important to consider the maintenance of the screen, such as how to clean it and how often it will need to be cleaned. Some screens may require more maintenance than others, so be sure to choose a screen that is easy to care for and will last for years to come.
In conclusion, purchasing a motorized projector screen is an investment that can greatly enhance your home theater or conference room experience. By considering the screen size and aspect ratio, screen material, motorized mechanism, remote control, and installation and maintenance, you can choose a screen that meets your needs and provides a high-quality viewing experience. Take your time, do your research, and choose the right screen for your needs to make the most of your investment.

On the Breeders family home set that is 4 storeys high, the rear projectors were suspended on motorised cables outside the windows with sky views, and moved floors depending on what level we are filming on. The screens had different images for the background for weather conditions and times of day, although for daylight scenes I usually ended up shooting with the overcast plates, because it gave us more screen detail as the sets were quite low light level and we had to light to expose for the rear projection and didn’t lock me into a specific weather look as we shot our locations after shooting in the studio - not that it makes a big difference as our weather is so changeable anyway! The house set had relatively low ceilings and when you wanted to show the split level in one shot you couldn’t hide any lights in the ceiling as they would be in vision, and the set was long and thin due to the house being a London townhouse terrace, so the middle of the set was quite dark. We would creep light panels in left and right of frame and Asteras too, but the general ambient was low, and not possible to push a huge amount of light from outside inside as you would quickly see the light source. So bouncing onto the floor in the outer edge of the set was the best method of adding directional accents of light and lifting the ambience.  Awesome gaffer, Kit Wood and I liked to sometimes bounce light onto the ceiling with Aperture 300d  as its nice way to add a bounce in focused areas with a good drop off. I think the set being more like a very controlled location due to its restrictive lighting access compared to other sets, does gives the show a more realistic feel, and made you lean into the low key look which again gives Breeders its dramatic edge. Audio Visual Installation Driffield
Audio Visual Installation Driffield - another installation completed for Driffield Town Council in their meeting hall.
For the projector installation we have installed a Sapphire 3 metre motorised projection screen in 16:10 widescreen along with a Epson 6200 lumens WUXGA laser projector mounted on their existing projector mount bracket and pole.
For the laptop connections we have installed two Lindy active HDMI input plates, one at the front of the hall and one to the side so that they can present from either location.
There was also a requirement for carrying out small video conferencing meetings so we installed a Biamp VBC2500 video conferencing unit under the projection screen which has speakers, microphone and camera built in, with a local USB connection plate.
For the sound system installation we have installed a surround sound system consisting of Optimal Audio Cuboid 6 speakers in white for the left, centre and right along with a Sub 10 bass speaker and a pair of Apart Audio Kubo 5 speakers for the rear.
Within the clients existing equipment cabinet we have installed a rackmount mixer for the two Sennheiser radio mic systems, Denon bluetooth unit and the audio from the Epson projector. Two Crown amplifiers were installed along with a DBX 2 way stereo crossover.
For the surround sound system we have installed a Marantz AV receiver which is also connected to the existing Blu Ray DVD player and a new Google Chromecast unit.
The existing hearing loop amplifier was replaced with a new Ampetronic rack mount amplifier connected to their existing hearing loop cable and connected to a new Audio Technica shotgun microphone picking up the audio within the room.

7 Tips When Designing Your Home Theater Room
No one can deny how having your own home theatre room can add a luxurious touch to your property. Of course, this comes on top of this space's functionality — you get to enjoy watching films and even sporting events comfortably, conveniently, and on big projector screens. But how do you properly design your home cinema area? Here are seven tips to consider. Invest in a motorised screen. Your choice of projector screen is highly crucial because it’s the very device where you’ll watch movies and shows in all their glory. You can take your viewing experience to a more convenient notch with motorised projector screens like floor-rising ones. Plus, you can save space with their motorised mechanism. Mind the layout. First off, determine the total floor area and the shape of your room. Based on that, you can come up with a home theatre layout that will best fit your preferences and needs. This entails placing the different elements of a home cinema in the right locations and incorporating adequate, comfortable seating into your space. Control your ambient light. A good lighting design help set the mood of a home theatre. However, there is an unwanted type of light in this environment — the ambient light or light coming from outside (i.e.through the window) or artificial sources within the room. To address this, you can install curtains and shades, and even invest in screens with an ambient light rejecting feature. Minimise ambient sound. First, your home cinema should be located in a room away from noisy areas. This could be your attic, basement, or spare bedroom. To further block off ambient sound, it’s best to soundproof your home theatre and put up thick curtains. Make sure your audio/video (A/V) component rack is well-ventilated. Your home theatre experience is significantly affected by the quality of audio and video that your component plays. Apart from investing in a top-quality A/V setup, you should ensure that they’re housed in a well-ventilated rack to avoid issues like overheating and premature wear and tear. Reduce the presence of reflective objects. This is one big reason why many home cinema rooms have dark paint. They help reduce reflection, which can negatively impact your viewing experience. You can further limit reflection by avoiding placing shiny things (e.g. Doorknobs, fireplaces, countertops) in the zone between your projector screen and seating. Incorporate features that suit your lifestyle. Apart from having a motorised screen, you might want to install a snack bar to complete the vibe of your home theatre. You might also want to add gaming consoles if you’re a huge video game fan. These extras all depend on what kind of home theatre owner you are. 3 Things to Consider Before Purchasing a Home Theatre Projector
Tumblr media
Home theatres have become more en vogue than ever. You’ve probably heard about or know someone planning to create a home theatre on their property. Homeowners love home theatres because they raise a property’s value.
You aren’t alone if you’re considering building a home theatre. However, you’ll want to note a few things before selecting a home theatre projector. After all, no home theatre is complete without the right projector to ensure the optimal viewing experience. Picking a home theatre projector can often be challenging because you must evaluate various factors before selecting one.
Things to Consider When Buying a Home Theatre Projector
Here are some things to consider when purchasing a home theatre projector. They include:
Color Technology
Color technology will also greatly vary from projector to projector. You’ll want to select a projector with 3LCD technology.
Image Quality and Brightness
Image quality and brightness vary from projector to projector. Before selecting a projector, you’ll want to examine its lumens lamps. In addition, you’ll also want to consider other things like the projector’s supported resolution. HD projectors have become commonplace. However, homeowners should opt for 4K UHD projectors for the best viewing experience.
Projector Lift
The last thing you want to do is place your projector atop a pile of boxes and books. A projector lift is essential for the optimal viewing experience.
Buying the Right Projector for Your Home Theatre
The Epson EH-TW7000 is an impressive and affordable 4K Ultra HD projector perfect for your media consumption room. It features a 3000 lumens bulb that makes it usable in dark settings and well-lit rooms. The projector also provides an excellent contrast ratio of 40000:1 and has a long lamp life of over 5000 hours.
Likewise, the Epson EH-TW7100 is an upgrade on the TW7000. While the TW7100 is slightly more expensive, it offers a significantly higher contrast ratio of 100000:1. In addition, it also has a substantially higher screen size, capping out at 500 inches.
You’ll also want to pair these projectors with a projector lift for the optimal viewing experience. Stacking your projector atop boxes and books isn’t ideal for a home theatre setup.
The Saphire SAPPL04 Lift Mechanism is an excellent budget option for smaller projectors. It has a 190mm height and a maximum lift range of 1000mm. People with larger-sized projects can opt for the Future Automation PD3.5 Lift Mechanism, the market leader for most home viewing projects.

Here's Why You Need A Projector Screen For Your Dream Home Theater Setup
Norwest, NSW - Setting up a home theater is a dream for most adults. As children, we all dreamed of having a fancy theater at home where we could invite all our friends for a movie night, and everyone will stare in amazement at the larger-than-life projector screen in our house. This no longer has to stay as just a fantasy. With the help of the VIVIDSTORM screen setup, the reality of a home theater is just a few clicks away. If you’re like a few conservative homeowners who are contemplating if the Vividstorm projector screen is necessary since you already have a flatscreen television or a bare white wall, here are a few good reasons why projector screens such as VIVIDSTORM projector screens will elevate your viewing experience: A Projector Screen’s Reflective Quality The truth is that the Vividstorm projector screen comes with a special coating that allows it to reflect images properly. The average white wall doesn’t have this unique aspect, meaning images and movies projected on a wall will not be as sharp and have the same quality. Wall Texture Issues Another issue with using walls is the possible texture they may have. Small imperfections can create shadows on the projected images leading to reduced brightness and image quality. Even the smallest bumps and unevenness will ruin the picture quality, hence dampening the entire home theater experience for everyone. Flatscreen TVs Limitations A wide flatscreen can mirror a projector screen in quality as many of them are already HD. However, when it comes to the full theater experience, watching from a flatscreen tv still isn’t the same. A projector screen offers the same vibe and feels as if you were in a movie theater, but you can have all the snacks and drinks you want, without the added expenses! The Vividstorm Screen Collection and More Are you ready to build your very own home theater? Here are a few select choices from Vivistorm that clients have highly recommended: S PRO Motorised Floor Rising Projector Screen - This screen comes with an ultra-short throw ambient light rejecting capability for the best picture quality possible. Screens come in different sizes, starting from 72 inches all the way to 120 inches, to ensure it fits in every home. This screen requires no drilling during installation, ensuring your landlord won’t complain about holes in the wall when you move out. PRO Slimline Motorised Drop Down Projector Screen - This screen is wireless remote control capable, blocks ambient light, and has an easy-to-open electric lift. Its motor drop-down system offers a one-of-a-kind authentic theater experience. Screen sizes range from 84 inches up to 120 inches. Vividstorm, Providing All Your Projector Screen Needs Want to know more about projector screens and how they can make your dream home theater a reality?
