Being with my partners has really helped me appreciate my F/Os even more ngl- my partners are all self shippers themselves, but they've been able to help me see good things about myself that I didn't before, which in turn has also helped my confidence with self shipping. This valentine's day I'm so grateful to have my partners as well as all my F/Os in my life 💜

Life this weekend has been....

Pretty okay actually.

I finished the first chapter of my fic so I'll soon be posting my first fic in... 9?? 10 years?

I got the radioapple sigil tattoo yesterday. (Not in honor of the anniversary or anything it just kinda happened that way)

Of course work this morning was an immediate shit show to balance out the karma lol

I honestly think one of my favourite parts of reading the Evillious novels has been watching mothy evolve as a writer.

He said that Story of Evil was the first thing he ever wrote and you can clearly see it. His strengths in character writing and setting and overall plot can't really mask a lack of technical skill. The first books in the series have very inconsistent pacing with huge moments of plot surrounded by Not Much and the style is just bland. But then you get to see him grow and experimenting with more complex stories and even different genres sometimes. By the time you reach Judgement of Corruption, the pacing issues are practically gone, the book is easier to read, and so many characters are having such engaging arcs. It's not telling a story to support a series of songs anymore, it's writing.

I just finished Crime and I was GRIPPED the entire time. The build-up of tension was so good and the plot felt very carefully constructed.

Idk, it just makes me happy to see a writer grow

Hi so is it okay to read novels and start from lust arc, then gluttony arc ect. Instead of reading pride arc novels first? Because my friend wants to read the novels but the time line is confusing for her and I know know in which order I should tell her to read the novels because I don't want her to get even more confused than she already is.

It's "okay" in the sense that this is a fictional series meant to be enjoyed casually and no one should be shamed about their choices regarding how they consume it (even if I do think it leads to a lesser reading experience), but if your intention is specifically to make the series less confusing then I personally think you're going about it the wrong way.

Issues with the timeline aside, Evillious as a series has a lot of concepts and worldbuilding to learn. Who certain characters are, how magic works, how demons work, the nature of the world, its countries, etc. The Daughter of Evil series (the Pride novels) introduces these concepts gradually. The plot of Cloture of Yellow can be easily described as "Fantasy French Revolution with some magic elements on the side"; the demons are barely even mentioned in them. It's mostly a political and character drama. Wiegenlied of Green, being an alternate perspective of Cloture, is able to explore more of the worldbuilding and fantasy concepts while still having the familiar setting and characters (and mostly being a romance, besides). Praeludium and Praefacio are then able to take the same setting and characters in a new direction that introduces yet more mechanics and character development for the bigger players in Evillious overall (like Elluka and Irina, the demons, etc).

The Lust novel then assumes you are already familiar with these concepts and just drops you immediately into how HER works, demonic contracts, etc.

To put it another way--the Pride novels prime you for the rest of Evillious. You build upon the foundation of your knowledge as you go. Like, I'm not going to judge someone who skips them because they find them boring or just aren't interested but I personally don't find "this book is a prequel to X" to be so difficult a concept that it's worth going out of order.

I have Amazing Digital Circus brainrot. Caine by beloved.

I drew a crappy rendition of my tadc oc, Drea, in ms paint so i could test colors out.

Shes meant to sort of be one of those blanket doll things like this:

but kinda messed up because the headset was placed on her while she was sleeping, causing a few, glitches, in her player model and programming.

For example she sleeps for 50 and then wakes up for seven days before being forced alseep again. I figured it would be semi-easy to integrate her into cannon that way (and reflect my own sleeping and fatigue issues for angst purposes lol)
