Halsin is such a great partner I can't even begin to describe it. He sees you as this sort of savior, who brought him out of the Shadows, who reminded him who he is, and who he wants to be.

Spoilers Below:

He never once lies or downplays his desire for an open relationship. And if you do not agree with the idea (if you're already romancing a different companion), he accepts the answer.

(I know a lot of folks on Twitter claim he's creepy but I think they're just projecting their dislike of polyamory or open relationships onto him. Yes, at the beginning of the launch, he was bugged to come on to you regardless of your answers in your interactions but that was fixed early on so if he's mentioning a relationship, something your Tav said or did must have triggered it.)

He gives you his full attention when you speak. You literally have to coax his own interests and past out of him, he won't mention them in passing if you don't initiate. (Like his hobby of whittling, his enjoyment of ducks... If you don't ask, your Tav will literally never know.) He's very wear his heart on his sleeve, but he's spent so long disregarding his own ambitions and own inner self that what he wears on his sleeve is his love for others (i.e. you) and others alone.

You can choose to empower him to think about what he wants for his future, which is why him choosing to leave the city to help the refugees is so important to his and Tav's relationship! It's not Halsin abandoning the player, it's Halsin finally accepting the blessing of self-determination Tav gifted him. He never wanted to be archdruid of the grove, it was thrust upon him. With Tav, Halsin is free to discover what is precious to him in this life, and his answer is very simple: He loves Tav, and he loves the fact he can help the people hurt by the cruelties of Baldur's Gate. Those two things don't cancel each other out, despite what some players say.

Halsin tells Tav they're amazing, and that they (Tav) can't even see how incredible they are.

It's a mature relationship where each person truly wants to best for the other, despite their immediate longings or lust. (Probably why a bunch of people are hurt by it because they're not at the age where they've learned it's better to love a person and let them thrive from a far than to hold them close and potentially hold them back.)

He constantly says all of nature's beauty/bounty doesn't compare to you... Like my god, he loves you- body, mind, and soul and not a single person can convince me otherwise.

NOBODY WARNED ME HOW GOOD HALSIN ROMANCE IS why are you people only talking about the bear scene he calls you his HEART????? He opens every conversation going on about how infatuated he is with you I can't BREATHE I am seeing stars
