I'm finally watching Motherland: Fort Salem and I expected to love Raylla (and I do) but I did not expect The Unit to have me in an absolute chokehold.

Found family?? Platonic forehead kisses???? Literal you jump I jump???

Not to mention Raelle and Abigail casually sharing a bed in the infirmary even though there were so many open beds just to be close to Tally and Abigail curled up on her side so there was room for Rae. Honestly would have thought Abigail would have pushed Raelle onto the floor after three minutes.

ok let me try to ACTUALLY convince you to watch motherland fort salem

this is the best trailer for season one imo, it's a bit raelle centric but. we love raelle!! and this is a very raelle focused season.

so the whole premise of the show is like. what if one witch called sarah alder made a deal to stop the persecution of witches in return for every us witch to serve in the us military. and now it's 300 years later and there is a terrorist organisation wanting to end conscription (which has now become pretty much a global thing) called the spree that kills civilians.

the main characters are raelle (blonde lesbian whose mother was just killed fighting in the army. she's angry at the army and gay as hell), tally (redhead who didn't have to join the army because all her aunts died but chose to join anyway because of. the terrorists. she's so silly) and abigail (cutie patootie whose mother is the army's head of intelligence. she's lowkey an arrogant snobby bitch the first few episodes but she is beloved by me). these three have to be in a unit together

the show also kinda focuses on alder (she's still alive and a massive liar btw), anacostia (sergeant in charge of training) and scylla :)

the first season is about the characters going through basic training and learning to get along as a team (raelle and abigail get along great😁😁) all while the terrorism gets worse and new threats emerge teeheehee. if you care there are also a canon gay couple as well as abigail's various weird rivalries🤨 and the shay and kasia parallel but most of the meat of that is in season 2 (it's. fucking crazy btw)

Never in her life Tally Craven thought that Sarah Alder would be capable of such corny things such as rose petal bath, handmade chocolates and all those civilian stuffs; until Tally finds Alder on her knee with a handfasting cord in her hands at the end of the night.

New hair, General

Everyone notices when Alder starts to put her hair up in a braided bun. The rumour is that it's just her new style or with Carmarila now active again you never know when they'll attack and Alder of all people wouldn't let herself be killed because they caught her by her classic braid. The reality:  Alder really likes when Tally and Nicte pull her hair so she's adopted the new style so no one else gets that privilege. Day 3 of Nictalder week: Domestic fluff.

A night out takes a turn for the worst and then for the best and Tally and Sarah rush to Nicte’s defence, who joyfully thanks them as they celebrate their one year anniversary. (Smut)

I just wanna rewatch motherland fort Salem and I cannot find it ANYWHERE. Only bbc iplayer has it and only season 3. I wasn't able to finish season 2 due to personal life getting hectic at the time. I just wanna see Raelle and Scylla again😭
