Mariana of Austria and Margarita Theresa Fanart

Be warned as some events I wrote had some artistic license. 

On the morning of September 17, 1665, the bells tolled throughout the city. Jose Everardo Nithard immediately went to the Queen's chambers. Upon hearing the bells, Queen Mariana awoke and asked what was happening. The courtiers present kissed her hand. Nithard approached her and informed her that the king had passed away. The Queen began to shed a tear but kept her composure. She began to change her wardrobe from extravagant to a simple, rigid mourning dress, with the only adornment on her finger being her wedding ring. Surgeons and attendants were cleaning and embalming the king’s body while a mass was recited at the head of the royal bed. Margarita Theresa, dressed in mourning attire, approached Mariana, hugged her, and wept excessively. Mariana began to cry as she comforted her daughter.

HAPPY 17TH ANNIVERSARY MOTHER 3!!!! 🌻🌻🌻

this game means so much to me I cant believe it's already 17 years, it was turning 12 when I first played it.

Anyway I wanted to draw a bunch of random parts of the game like if they were promo art for a episodes of an animated series, I'm really happy with how it came out. Lots of them were kind of out of my comfort zone but still came out so good

I based several of these off of actual promo art I saw so you might recognize them a little

HAPPY BIRTHIVERSARY part 1 - THE SIMS 2 IS 20???

FUN FACT: The Sims 2 (2004) was released 3 days before the date upon which I was released from my mother's womb, therefore making me younger than The Sims 2 by 3 days as of September 14th 2024, but objectively older by 6 years as of September 17th 2024. The march of time is inevitable and frightening! Let's celebrate!

Admittedly I didn't have very much to give when it came to sharing content for the Sims 2's anniversary because I've been battling the Chronic Exhaustion Demon, but then I realized I still haven't released those hair colors I showed a while back. And then I realized I could share EVEN MORE content by spreading it out across a few days instead of condensing it into one day. And it just so happens that, as stated above, there are two special occasions (for me at least... lol) close together on the calendar. SO. HERE'S SOME COOOONTEEEENT.

Today's bundle is mainly a resource for creators who use GIMP 2.x, and includes 11 UNNATURAL HAIR COLORS in the form of Curves that can be used on just about any texture you want, as long as you use it on a Volatile base These only come in Curve form, but if anyone would like to convert them into Photoshop actions, you're more than welcome to.

The colors are named, in order of appearance above: Sapphire, Tanzanite, Azurite, Alexandrite, Moonstone, Aquamarine, Bloodstone, Ruby, Entropy, Blue Moon, and Lily. You can read more about them under the cut.

(btw I made the Gemstone colors and the Alien black and brown a year ago, and I made Ruby and Lily this year, which is why they're in separate folders in the .zip)

The Gemstone colors were inspired by, of course, gemstones. They were my first attempt at making a hair color palette of my own. Out of them all, Moonstone, Bloodstone, and Alexandrite are my favorites.

I wanted to go for something fantastical. I also wanted to push GIMP's Curve function to the limit and see how many shades I could put into one color without it looking like garbage.

I use Bloodstone, Moonstone, and Aquamarine as Red, Blond, and Grey respectively in my (still hypothetical) Alien hair color family.

Entropy - intended to be alien "black", a very desaturated indigo color. since Alien sims born in game typically have black hair genetics (unless using a pt mod that changes this), I wanted it to really stand out against both the Maxis mint green and any alternative Alien themed skin tones despite its overall 'plainness'.

Blue Moon - intended to be alien "brown", I wanted to go for a color that was strange and unsettling in comparison to human brown hair. I think I originally intended it to be more blue but it came out more desaturated teal instead. Attempts to change this made it too similar to Entropy for my liking, so I left it as it is.

These colors were originally created and named after the sims I specifically made them for, and I was going to use them only on a small handful of hairs. But I liked the shades so much that I decided to incorporate them into my personal palette. And so, with that in mind, it didn't feel right to keep them to myself.

'Lily' maintained its name as a color, but 'Ruby' was renamed to what it is now. In my game I bin them as Brown and Black respectively because they're meant to be considered 'dyes' in-universe and I wanted to be able to make their associated sims in CAS without having to make them go to the mirror in-game every time I put them in a new hood, but you can do whatever you want with them lol.

I will never open spam mail. Ever. But GODS I love peeking into my spam box sometimes and just reading the headers. TONS of fake paypal invoices, randos telling me about penis enlargement supplements and watches. My College sold my email which is fucking wild but that's why I have so much now and it's fun to take a peek and laugh at the silliness of the headers alone. My new favourite is tracking the ever fake and weird "life" of one totally real and not an automated bot Pace Kross, the everyperson with the email of jmackcross29 that have been dropping in my spam box since June.

"Pace Kross" is so busy in my spam box you guys. It begins on June 23rd, so simple..... (Read this in the most soap opera voice you can)

They're trying to link me totally not suspicious New York Times pet care articles. How lovely! They follow up with one of these:

A true person of culture: pets and traveling. And this of course is followed by a no subject email....

I am not interested, Pace Kross, you must step up your game. I shan't be swayed by your little games.

But then it gets intimate!

(don't be fooled it was not sent on June 17th, Pace Kross is a bit of a fibber)

They have photos they want to give me to send their love! Aww~! How very sweet! But then! Pace Kross's life takes a TURN!

Suddenly they want me to call because it's an "emergent"!! One that their physical health problems are causing them to be unable to do anything about!! TRAGIC!

I will never answer you Pace Kross.... what will you do?

Turns out I don't have to! And neither does whoever Kelsey is! My sister? My lover? My mother? Either way, crisis averted! And then we get more lore on my new relationship with this mysterious Pace Kross......

What am I celebrating 10 years of? New Development! I simply must know! am I engaged to this Kelsey? Am I married? IS it the anniversary of my birth? When I got my first car? What will their next email be?

July 1st- of course it's time to talk about fireworks. I now have new information! I must live on the East River! I learn new things about myself every day, thank you Pace Kross.

We are presented next with what must surely be photos of 4th of July. But who is Mack Danger? Is he with me? Is he my beloved? Is it our anniversary? The intrigue! Why is Pace Kross sending me these photos for Mack Danger's eyes and Mack Danger's eyes alone???

I will receive no answer, for I shan't open them.

July 5th, it is Christmas in July, of course, how could I forget. The plot unfolds- I have spent time with Pace Kross. I surely must know Pace Kross intimately to have such moments as reflecting on commercials that remind us of one another. Do not fret dear Pace Kross, I shall always be reminded of you whenever I see a commercial that establishes very little and leaves me questioning the product <3

But things take yet another turn.....

One must never argue politics, Pace Kross, you do not know what will be coming after all, immediately following your email.....

Is one from who I can only assume is your angry spouse! Alas, it too goes unanswered.

What follows are more emails for Mack Danger's eyes only. Impeccable curiosity spiking here... but I respect the privacy of anyone named Mack Danger.

Mack Danger must surely be a spy, after all, to merit such secrecy, and Pace Kross must be his informant. It only makes sense. It even says "top secret". The machinations unfold.....

And now the day arrives....

July 8th: It is my 10 year anniversary and I finally have context as to why Pace Kross was so upset they could not attend..... I am their beloved daughter! SHOCKING REVELATIONS ALL AROUND! A reel for my big day follows, of course.

Reminiscing got to them because they follow the big day with this:

I can only imagine this is Mack Danger they are speaking of in Philadelphia, followed by the pain they feel in missing me.

It leaves only more questions.

Was I put up for adoption at a young age? Dear me, what could have separated us?

July 16th: Mack Danger is now in Togo..... perhaps he knows why we are estranged. Was I kidnapped? Is there a ransom spam bot wanting you to pay to free me, Pace Kross? It's me I am here, your totally real and not fabricated estranged daughter and whoever Kelsey is... is likely here with me. Was that the emergent? Is Mack Danger on the case? Is that why I needn't have called any more?

July 20th, the last thing Pace Kross has sent to me. It holds no information, just an attachment I can only guess at. *stares into the middle distance*

I can only assume that whatever government had all those secrets has gotten to Pace Kross. I hope their dear angry spouse, Joan Kross, who is also probably from jmackross29@gmail, does not miss them too much.

Aslia hasn't gotten much sleep. When she finally gets to sleep, it's nearly two in the morning. And of course, she wakes up at six-thirty am. Lynette's still cuddled against rose, her arms wrapped snugly around Aslia's torso. Aslia just laughs softly trying to let roseself relax. It's hard, though, considering the date. August 17th. Her and Lynette's first anniversary, and also their wedding date.

“Mmm… already awake, firefly?”

The sound of Lynette's voice, admittedly, makes Aslia jump. She replies with a laugh and a warm, “How am I supposed to sleep, knowing today's the day we finally get married?”

Lynette just laughs, warm and affectionate. She says, “Well, the ceremony’s not until three this afternoon. Let's try to get a little more sleep, hm?”

And it works. When she next wakes up, it's to Lynette climbing out of the bed at almost ten o'clock. “What's for breakfast, love?” ro asks as she climbs out of bed herself.

Aslia, unable to argue with this point, just nestled herself back into Lynette's embrace and tries to fall back asleep. 

“Knowing my brother, he probably has made us a full breakfast spread just so we didn't have to do it ourselves on our wedding day,” Lynette replies casually. Aslia laughs, and shakes her head fondly. She replies, “Yeah, sounds like something Lyney would do.”

When they leave the bedroom, hand in hand, they find that's exactly what had happened. Lyney is standing in the kitchen, surrounded by fresh pancakes, sausage, bacon, hash browns, and eggs. When he sees them he greets them with an excited, “Ah, there are the lovebirds! Good morning, and perfect timing! I just finished making you guys breakfast!”

Aslia and Lynette sit down - Aslia’s plate loaded up and Lynette’s plate with a smaller but still substantial amount of food. The two of them sit in the breakfast nook, cuddling up against each other. Lyney cleans up the kitchen then takes his leave, saying, “Well, I’ll see you at the wedding.”

After breakfast, it’s time for them to go. Aslia has to go meet up with Chiori, who had designed rose wedding dress and is in charge of rose makeup.

“About time you showed up, Aslia.” Chiori greets.

Aslia just smiles. Chiori just huffs affectionately, and tuts, “Well, let’s get you in your dress.”

The dress isn’t anything too elaborate, fancy but not overly so. It still takes a few minutes to get into the dress, but it’s so worth it. That’s what Aslia thinks, at least. She thinks it looks beautiful. Chiori did a great job with the design, Lynette will love it, she thinks. Once Aslia’s in the dress Chiori pushes her gently into a chair, and starts or rose makeup. It’s a known fact that Aslia isn’t super fond of makeup, so Chiori keeps it light. A little bit of eye shadow to bring out the color in Aslia’s eyes, some lipstick to highlight her lips, and a little bit of blush to add some color to her cheeks.

“There we go. Your mother should be here soon, to walk you down the aisle.”

Aslia nods, standing up. She gives Chiori a tight hug and says, “Thank you, Chiori. I appreciate you putting in all this work for me.”

Both too soon and not soon enough, it’s time to walk down the aisle.

Chiori again just huffs affectionately, but hugs back.

A few minutes before, she meets up with her mother figure, Ningguang. Ningguang is wearing a nice dress, formal yet simple. Aslia gives her a tight hug, and lightheartedly says, “Mama Beidou’s here, right? And let me guess, she’s still grumbling about feeling old?”

Ningguang laughs. “Right you are, Aslia,” she says fondly, “Beidou is indeed lamenting how your wedding makes her feel old.” Aslia's laughing at that, a smile on her face, “I'm sure Kaz is sick of hearing about it.”

“Indeed. Now, your love and her ‘father’ have probably reached the altar, so let's be off.”

So Aslia, dressed in rose wedding attire, links her arm with Ningguang's. The music swells as Aslia walks through the crowd full of Aslia and Lynette’s closest friends and family. Ro is to avoid scanning the crowd, looking forward instead. Lynette is standing next to her brother, dressed in a fancy suit. Aslia can feel her face getting red.

Because he's her best man, Bennett is also waiting there. When she and Ningguang get to the front, she drops Ningguang’s arm and takes her place at the altar.

The flower girls, Aslia’s adopted daughters, are standing at the front of the crowd in their matching dresses. Diona looks somewhat comfortable and relaxed for once, which makes Aslia smile. Sayu, meanwhile, appears to be falling asleep. Diona nudges her, causing the younger girl to startle awake.

The ceremony passes quickly. The best part, in Aslia’s opinion, is when they finally share their first kiss as a married couple. Bennett and Lyney are cheering from their places next to the happy couple, and most of the audience cheers and claps.

After Aslia takes rose place, the ring bearer comes down the aisle. The ring is being carried by Aslia’s adopted son, Chouji. His suit matches Diona and Sayu’s dresses, and he mostly just looks happy to be included.

Then, it's time for the reception. The catering comes from one of the finest kitchens in Fontaine. Dinner is a fairly simple affair, the guests chattering amongst themselves. Lynette and Aslia, meanwhile, sit at the head table and talk. Aslia takes Lynette’s hand in rose own, holding it tightly.

Then the first dance.

The finest live band possible starts playing, and Aslia walks with Lynette to the dance floor. Neither of the two women are great at dancing, but neither of them mind. They're giggling as they dance, and Aslia feels her heart swell with love. This is her wife now. Her wife!

After the dance floor opens to all guests, the happy couple begin to mill about.

“So, what's it like being married?” Aslia startles at the sound of her older brother’s voice. But then she just casually smiles, saying, “Feels good, Kae. I did marry the love of my life, after all.”

Kaeya laughs fondly, picking Aslia up and spinning rose around. Diluc, Jean, and Barbara are all standing nearby, all smiling. Aslia hugs the other three as well, squeezing them tightly. Then she says to Jean, “Hey, who's in charge of the Knights right now? Given that most of the authorities are here right now, I mean.”

Jean chuckles, and Kaeya outright snickers. “I have a couple of the more trustworthy knights in charge, I'm sure the Knights can survive for a few days without Kaeya, Lisa, Amber, Eula, Albedo, and I.”

“Yeah, they’ll be fine,” Aslia laughs. Her attention is then drawn by the sound of wind. The wind races towards her, before Aslia finds herself with an armful of her youngest child. She holds Sayu tightly and fondly, spinning her daughter slightly. Diona and Chouji are close behind. She greets them, “How are you doing, kids?”

“Lynette had better treat you right, or she’s gonna pay!” Diona proclaims, her hands on her hips as she huffs.

“I promise, I’ll make sure to treat your mother with the utmost care.”

They continue milling about, spending the evening and into the night talking to their loved ones and dancing and eating cake.

Diona jumps when Lynette speaks, and Lynette chuckles fondly. Aslia shifts the way she holds Sayu in her arms, to kiss her wife on the lips.

“I love you, Nettie.”

“I love you too, Little Light.”
