Okay, you know what?

The bastard is almost, on an aesthetic level, not terrible to look at while he’s like this.

Asleep, he can’t be a fucking sociopath or an asshole. Those too-clever eyes of his aren’t judging and dissecting, they’re closed.

The absence of that bright blue gaze makes him seem surprisingly vulnerable.

So does the way Daz has, in the short while he’s been asleep, already snuggled up to him and is being clingy.

After the last few hours of running around looking for him, it’s a relief to know that he’s been mostly fine all along.

Naturally, when Daz didn’t come home, Raine got worried. The Council, aside from Lee who had been kept out of it, have been searching his known hidey-holes for hours now.

Obviously the HQ was one of the first places they checked, but the wall that leads into the hidden room was sealed off. They assumed that meant he wasn’t there, so they ignored it.

It wasn’t until Aster, in a last-ditch attempt, decided to open it up and check that the bastard was found.

He’d been fine, thankfully. Just having hyper fixated on the code and shut out everything else.

Aster carefully takes his com out and taps out a message to the others.

ShiningAster: bastard located. fine but asleep. focused on coding body for Innit, forgot he has a human body.

RaineStorm: seriously?? uhg, at least it’s normal shit this time

RaineStorm: as opposed to soul crushing despair and existential terror

It’s only a little bit of a lie. Technically, none of that was wrong, but the implication was that Daz wasn’t strongarmed into accepting.

And, fuck, something in his chest feels like it cracks when Aster realizes what and who Daz must be dreaming about.

There’s nobody it could be but his former mentor. The person who gave him everything he ever wanted…and then committed an unspeakable sin against him.

Clearly, Daz still misses him. Despite what Dream had done to him, a part of him still misses the person who crushed him infinitely worse than anyone before him.

Despite only getting brief glimpses of that time, Aster gets the impression that Dream had been someone whose preciousness went beyond words.

Yet Daz couldn’t stomach letting him have his way after what he did. He rejected a place as a near-god beside someone who, despite the sickness in his soul, was devoted to him to a disturbing degree.

That…takes a strength of will that Aster isn’t completely sure he could match.

Fuck, nor does the decision to use the lethally broken enchantment as a backup plan.

If the rest of the server had failed to kill him, Daz would have chosen a death so agonizing that it chills Aster to his core.

It’s not hard to see why Daz is so…himself, honestly. Aster might not be able to think like him, nor agree with his actions, but in a fucked up way he can follow most of the logic now that he has the pieces.

He swallows as Daz’s voice wavers and cracks. “You said you’d protect me, so why…”

Aster adjusts his arms to a more comfortable positon, and messes with his hair more. “I’m not him, Daz. You’re not Tommy any more. Dream was sick– you know that.”

Horrifyingly, Daz starts shaking as he cries.

He rushes to add, “But– but you can have something new. Fuck, if you can be even halfway decent, I’d fall for you pretty damn quick. You can be charming, you know? And– and pretty romantic. It was– maybe it wouldn’t be awful. If you just stopped being such a bastard–”

At a loss for what else to do, he cuts himself off and starts humming.

Eventually, Daz slips back into deeper sleep.

But the memory of this unsettlingly fragile side of him will remain in the back of Aster’s head. Even when Daz is being the biggest bastard he can be…Aster knows he’ll remember this.

Hello Kelly! I just finished my book at one thirty in the morning and logged on to tumblr to see the same from you. I read mostly ya fantasy and I have to say 1] yes I agree on the Cassandra Clare sketchy as a dedication. That lady is a menace but also her books are low key so good. I can't believe I enjoy them 2) I have a strong hatred of the fae and all books with them. I know Sarah j Maas popularized them but it started with cruel prince. Last year I decided to read them out of some weird motivation. I would say in a non spoiler way that I was bored while reading but I was also addicted. I read them so fast. I think of them often. I don't know if it was the writing or pacing or my hatred of the fae bit I rated them all 3 stars (my definition of "eh it was okay") but I can't stop thinking about them. Anyways I want to know your thoughts. The pacing IS a bit weird bit it gets better as it goes. Besides that I will give you nothing. Have fun reading!

Last Movie: ...I honestly don't remember. I have not watched any movies in several years, because I've just grown to dislike them. I don't know why I dislike them, I just do.

Currently Reading: Mostly webcomics. Since I've been very sleep deprived over the past two days, I've been avoiding Wilde Life like the plague because of the fact that it has some very disturbing content in a very realistic art style. Otherwise, I would absolutely be continuing my binge-reading of it!

Savory/sweet/spicy: All three, to varying degrees! General Tso's chicken is a must have for me when it comes to Chinese takeout, and because I'm a Buffalonian, I can never turn down a Buffito (burrito with chicken, buffalo chicken wing sauce, and your choice of bleu cheese dressing or ranch dressing. I always go with the bleu cheese!) from Mighty Taco. With regards to savory, I LOVE corned beef dinners, roast beef sandwiches, and pulled pork sandwiches! And with sweet stuff, I can never get enough of Haribo Goldbears (specifically that brand of gummi bears!) and Hi-Chew candy, cause they're SUCH STIMMY FOODS!! X3

Relationship status: A singular pringular. And probably gonna stay that way for the foreseeable future because being outside is often loud and overwhelming on a busy street!

Current Obsessions: Champions of The Gods (current working title for my story involving my former RWBY fan characters. It has werewolves, elves, dwarves, Magic, Corrupted Magic, SOOOOO many gods, and lots of dragons, wyverns and phoenixes!! >:3), The Fenrathae Saga (Still on mostly hiatus, but I think that just putting it on that status lifted a LOT of pressure to start making the pages of the webcomic before I'm actually ready!), Slime Rancher, Gunnerkrigg Court, ALL the active volcanoes in the world (special interest!!), learning about as many nuclear incidents/man-made disasters as I can fit into my AuDHD brain (another special interest, thanks in part to my mom incidentally leaving her copy of "Voices from Chernobyl," along with at least two books about Hiroshima and Nagasaki, sitting around when I was in middle school. I don't think she ever reprimanded me for reading that book, because I started to share the same interest in man-made disasters with her!), Mysteries of the Abandoned on Discovery Channel (Mom and I will sit down and watch these together. We LOOOOOOVE learning about this kind of stuff!)

Currently Working On: Champions of The Gods, The Fenrathae Saga Volume 1, trying to look for a job, trying to figure out why I now have nerve tingling sensations in both of my arms and my left leg (kept me from getting any sleep last night, along with how warm it suddenly got overnight.), and uhhhhh.... When was the last time you got more then eight hours of sleep? I think Friday? I actually fell asleep relatively early, around midnight; and ended up sleeping in, too. I think I had gotten up only by 10 AM.

Do you find that people don't really understand you? Maybe as an angsty teenager, but I don’t feel like this these days. It’s probably also a matter of finding the people who do understand me. Is there anyone in your life that you wish you were closer to? Now that I know Trina is leaving for Canada for good, I really want to get even closer to her in the three months she has left in the country. I’m glad that we got close at all, especially after getting promoted. She used to just be this high-ranking workmate who I thought was untouchable.

If you could go anywhere right now, where would you go; why? I’m feeling significantly attached to Bangkok right now because it has been exactly three weeks since we saw Yoongi. Our trip overall was quite short – only four days total – so it only makes the feeling of ‘missing’ Bangkok a lot more intense. I miss the place, I miss their great public transport, I miss the nightlife, but I will say that I do not miss the weather. Remembering how humid it is over there still makes me squirm lol

I wish I had longer periods of incubation(??? lol) before getting asked to step up to the next level.

I know tech companies churn out new products at 34788394x speed and in their terms an iPhone 13 can be considered old-ish, but all things considered a 1 year old phone isn’t bad at all. I’m not in a rush to get a new one as mine still works just fine.

Have you ever drank milk when it was spoiled? Ugh, yeah. I remember an instance when I was around 5-6, I drank some Milo that turned out to be spoiled and immediately ran to the sink to frantically spit it out because it tasted horrific. Ever since then I’ve had a fear of drinking milk.

BnHA Chapter 300: Days of Our Todorokis

Previously on BnHA: Hawks was all “hey Jeanist, wanna go on a road trip with me to my mom’s house?” Jeanist was all “you know it,” and so they hopped into Jeanist’s jercedes and took off. Hawks took a nap and had a flashback to his Dickensian childhood living in a abject poverty with his jerk mom and jerk dad, thinking heroes were make-believe until one day Endeavor arrested his dad and Baby Hawks was all “OH SHIT.” And then he saved a bunch of people, and the HPSC was all “what do we have here,” and blah blah blah, you know the rest. Back in the present, Hawks was all “well my life is currently in shambles, but on the plus side there’s no one bossing me around anymore so that’s pretty cool,” and then decided he was going to talk to Endeavor. Fandom was all “I can’t believe Hawks would side with his childhood hero over the man who burned his wings off and posted a video calling him a violent murderer who took after his abusive dad,” so that was fun and stuff. I can’t wait to see what piping fresh takes this new chapter will bring.

Today on BnHA: Our old friend Carbonation Carl tries to loot a Starbucks and gets his ass kicked by a senior citizen. Society is all “YEAH, WE’RE REALLY STARTING TO GET SICK OF THIS SHIT.” Old Man Samurai is all “this room won’t stop me because I can’t read it” and abruptly decides to retire, which, fun fact, is literally THE LEAST HELPFUL THING ANYONE HAS EVER DONE. Anyway so then a bunch of other punkasses follow suit, and while I won’t say that I’m actually starting to root for Stain to kill some peeps, just for the record I’m not not saying that either. Back in the hospital, Endeavor cries some tears because his life sucks, and then is confronted by his entire family, LED BY QUEEN REI, FIRST OF HER NAME, BACK IN BUSINESS AND LARGE AND IN CHARGE. Rei is all “fuck feeling sorry for yourself, we have a rogue Murder Son on the loose” and I swear to god I have never felt so alive.

so here we go! and just for the record, even though the last two chapters have been phenomenal, I don’t necessarily have any sky-high expectations for chapter 300, mostly because chapters 100 and 200 consisted of Mei Boobs, and Toadette and her horrific quirk lmao. so go ahead Horikoshi, what are you gonna pull out of your hat for this one

Ohhh, I was about to go to bed when I saw @ariela-of-aedyr‘s ask meme :D decided to do it now and not wait for asks since well... bed, and technically it’s Thursday here already :’) also i just wanna babble about my baby

1. What did your Watcher make of the Deadfire Archipelago? Was it their first time there, or had they been there previously? 

First time! Alfaris had never actually left the Aedyr Empire before the start of POE1 and hasn’t even seen all of the Empire at that. His first impression was pretty much “ugh so much ocean and see travel I don’t like boats-- OH GREAT I’M ALREADY STRANDED. awesome.” He... still isn’t that keen on it by the end, though he gets used to it. He also doesn’t like how the archipelago is run very much and could do without everyone and their mother vying for power against each other instead of addressing the very obvious problems being had. He did like the weather though! At least better than the Dyrwood’s.

2. Did they have a favourite location?

Not... really. Neketaka probably comes closest by virtue of being the biggest city around, but it also has both the Gullet (which pisses him off because the Roparu have such shitty living conditions) and the Kahanga palace (which pisses him off because he does not get along with the Kahanga royals :’D). Other than that he liked visiting small, unimportant villages that just peacefully existed. And the Engwithan ruin the Wahaki live in, because of the Thaos mural.

3. How about a favourite companion? Or a favourite NPC? 

Of the new Deadfire crew, definitely Tekehu 😛 He’d endeared himself to Alfaris by the time they entered the Gullet together and Tekehu expressed his shock and dismay about how the people there are treated, and after that they got to comforting handholding really fast which was some wonderful gay shit. (...Also I just like it as a romance trope. Loved it with Aloth in the first game, loved it here, it’s good.)

As far as NPCs go... he rather likes Director Castol and Flaune Elette because he likes their idealism and vision. It’s why he very firmly sided with Castol during the company meeting, which should have been clear to the governor from the beginning -- “Ah yes, this extremely idealistic person who wishes to help people and has no interest nor need in making money (because he comes from money and is essentially never without it) will surely side with my profit oriented leadership over another idealist visionary!” ...Yeahhhhhh, no.

4. Was there a companion or an NPC that they just couldn’t stand? What was it about them that irritated your Watcher? 

None tbh. Alfaris is relatively easy to get along with and to go into the “I can’t stand you” category you need to be a huge dick. (And if your name is Thaos, even that isn’t enough :P) He’d butt heads with Vatnir and Ydwin over ideology, philosophy and theology --though in Vatnir’s case he’d mostly want to help get Vatnir away from Ryrmrgand and more comfortable -- with Ydwin he’s lowkey “well you’re wrong about the wheel but I guess you’re entitled to your wrong opinion :/”, but he doesn‘t dislike either of them. He also wishes Serafen would “talk normally” and Maia ends up leaving because he sides with the Vailians, but they get on well until then.

5. Was your Watcher glad to have Eder, Aloth and Pallegina back again (if indeed they did)? Was there any other companion that they would have liked to have back in their party? 

Yes!! I mean, Aloth is one of his bfs and Edér and Pallegina are his bffs. He wouldn’t mind any of the others except Durance back, though he especially misses Sagani and Kana.

6. What was your Watcher’s ship(’s) name(s)? Did they enjoy being Captain of a boat? Would they rather have been back at Caed Nua?

.....I can’t fucking settle on a name tbh. Last playthrough it was The Prince, named by his mum the Mecwyn when she heard that he would like a nice big ship with maybe a lot of cannons because there are pirates everywhere here, mother, can you believe it? But that wasn’t all that creative and is subject to change if I think of something I really like after all :D

He... didn’t exactly enjoy being a Captain, because traveling by ship is not his preferred method, but he also wouldn’t have preferred being at Caed Nua -- he was getting close to done with what he could do there to help and would have installed a steward before long anyway, and the Deadfire is where he was needed now.

7. Did they have a favourite quest or side quest? How about a least favourite? 

I’d say no real favorite -- there were moments he enjoyed, like being able to help Biha, or get medicine for the sick Roparu, but nothing where I would say “Yes this entire quest is something he loved”. Similarly there were a lot he really did not like, but it’s hard to point to a specific one -- shoutout goes to Nemnok’s though because he got really damn pissed about the whole “oh let’s sacrifice our children to our new god” thing. a) No!!! Just no!!!!, b) dammit Thaos, once again proof your entire plan didn’t work because people are *still* doing this shit. The sacrifices ended up being all right after all, but the spirit of it still made him mad :P

8. Did your Watcher find romance, or close companionship, in the Deadfire? If so, who did they get close to, and how did that relationship develop? 

HOO BOY does Alfie ever have companionship :D I don’t often care much for polyshipping, but he’s a big exception to that. Admittedly, hc wise he was already in a relationship with Aloth, because screw this dancing around your feelings for 5 years stuff in their case (and honestly, no way Alfaris wouldn’t have made sure to keep in contact with Aloth, while Aloth was off hunting down the Leaden Key!). He’s already close to his past incarnation too, though Caolan’s part of their soul ends up being kidnapped by Eothas and thus not around for a big part of the game.

And then there’s Tekehu, who, along with Aloth, is basically tailor made for Alfaris :P Sweetheart who wants to help people? Sad woobie who needs emotional support? A big sub? Yes. Good. Perfect. Alfie was making hearteyes at him by the time they left Neketaka together after dealing with the mess in the Gullet. Tekehu was similarly drawn to the Watcher rather quickly (he’s so easy to raise affection with...) and they talked a lot about the Deadfire and about the Huana and whatever was going on in their quest(s) at the time. Then his last fears that maybe Alfaris wouldn’t want to or couldn’t give him what Tekehu wanted were laid to rest when Alfaris revealed that yeah, actually, he is a dom and he likes taking care of people and giving them what he needs and literally everything Tekehu just described as seeking in a romantic and sexual partner is something he’s happy to give.

9. Which faction did your Watcher side with in the end, if any? Was there a particular reasoning behind their decision? 

The Vailians! The pirates were never in the running despite Furante’s attempts, Alfaris was already annoyed with Onekaza and her brother over the Gullet and Onekaza’s behaviour (please stop trying to do ~banter telepathically kthxbye), then she sent him on a menial errand to get Mairu (”I’m a visiting foreign Prince but ok, maybe this is some cultural difference I don’t get”) which resulted in him freeing the dragon and then him and Onekaza slinging insults at one another. “It’s a poor ruler who doesn’t recognize what is under her feet” gave me life and him too for getting it off his chest :’)

And when it came down to Rauatai vs the Republics, he decided that animancy was more useful to deal with the crisis at hand. Which admittedly was also helped by Pallegina being his bff and very much influencing his opinion of the Republics towards being more positive.

10. Where do you imagine your Watcher’s life takes them after the events of Deadfire? 

He would absolutely keep an eye on what’s going on on Ukaizo, considering how important rebuilding the Wheel is (especially since he’s such a big fan of reincarnation too!), but since he can’t exactly help the animancers fix it faster... I think he’d visit home, try to spread the truth about the gods more (which is helped, I imagine, by Eothas’s actions), help Aloth with the Leaden Key, and just generally keep an eye out for the next crisis to lend his hand, since his overarching goal is to make the world a better place and prove to Thaos that kith doesn’t need the gods for that and isn’t as bad as Thaos has come to believe.

(Though my money for a potential sequel plot would be something involving Yezuha considering the storms are now gone.)

Are you named after someone?

I'm named after the song Carrie-Anne by the Hollies. My mom was originally planning on naming me Theresa Marie, but my dad refused to have me be named as a Catholic (or the slur for Italian, which is what he actually used. Yes, sadly he's a racist. But hey, I'm named after a fun song, I think.).

2. When was the last time you cried?

This morning I was a bit weepy, but really it was Saturday. My best friend's grandmother died. She was 102. An amazing lady. I'm super glad I got to meet her.

3. Do you have kids?

Yes. I have one son. @super-ultra-mega-kami-guru. He's 17. The Dude. He's basically a good dude. Kind of frustrating right now, but I expect no less from a teenage boy.

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

If I didn't use sarcasm, I wouldn't have much else to say about 85% of the time. The rest would pretty much be swear words.

5. What's the first thing you notice about people?

What they're wearing usually. Around here especially. Except in my head it's more like "What in the hell is this bitch wearing right now?!" and it's me looking at me in the mirror.

6. Eye color?

I assume you mean mine? Kind of golden-y, hazel-y brown. IDK. They change color. So we'll go with the brown to hazel range.

7. Scary movie or happy ending?

Duhhhhh, happy ending FTW!!!! I can read horror, I can't really watch horror. Weird, I know.

8. Any special talents?

Nothing really stands out. I have a knack for knowing the songs on the radio right away usually. IDK...

9. Where were you born?

Well now that's a security breach, but it was close enough to Memphis TN for me to say that... So I can claim that I'm southern, and slide into that southern accent whenever I want. Oh wait, accents are kind of my talent, lol. I'm good at those.

10. What are your hobbies?

Reading, travel when I can, gardening, making quilts, less in recent years but counted cross stitch...

11. Do you have any pets?

Kitty Meow has been with me since 2004. Reggie - full name Regulus Arcturus Black Kitteh - is a more recent addition. He's a stray I started feeding a couple months ago. Still mostly a kitten - only about 9 months old. They do not get along because Kitty MeOw is used to being the queen of all she surveys.

12. How tall are you?

I'm 5 ft 4 in. I used to be a little bit taller. I never was a baller. If there's a girl who looks good, I might call her. Lol, who remembers that song? Jeebus I'm old. (It actually goes - I wish I was a little bit taller, I wish I was a baller, I wish I had a girl who looked good, I would call her)

13. What sports do you play?

None anymore. I used to play pool (billiards) but there's not a bar around here that I feel comfortable hanging out by myself in to do that. So yeah, my cue is gathering dust, and hopefully not getting warped.

14. Favorite subject at school?

HAHAHAHA teacher's aide, office assistant, student manager of the school store, lol. Yeahhhhhh. None! OK, OK, probably English, even though I hated forced reading, and just wanted to be able to enjoy the book, not have to rip it to shreds and dissect every little bit about it. I hated talking about "Man's inhumanity to man" and shit like that. Ughhhh! Just let me enjoy the book! I hated book reports! Now if I were to take an classes they'd likely be history, because I was going to try to get my 4 year degree in that. Kind of old now, and way too poor AF, especially in the USA for that. I really would like to explore our food history, since I kind of did when I was at culinary school.

15. Dream job?

Being the next Anthony Bourdain. Only of course, I'd be shite at it because he was amazing, and nobody could ever live up to him. I'd love to work with Gordon Ramsey somehow. Like behind the scenes on his TV shows. Helping him teach the restaurant servers to be better, since that's what I taught in Culinary school. IDK it just seem like it could be fun.

Game Of Thrones: Season 7 episode 6 non spoiler review: Starkbowl, The blue eyed army, Jon Snow (King of my heart), A dragon or two, A tale of the hammerless Gendry, A love song for Tormund and me being absolutely done with Game of Thrones. Because I'm not ready to die and the show wants to kill me.

Note: Even though this is a non spoilery review, it may contain spoilers which will be noted/indicated before they are revealed. All thoughts are just my personal observations and opinions.

Firstly, let’s talk about Arya and Sansa- because that’s some BS right there and I can’t even; at first, I thought Arya and Sansa were playing littlefinger. But from this episode, I am now unsure. D&D, do you truly expect me to believe that these two sisters who haven’t seen each other in years, believed most of their family members to be dead and had no one and nowhere to call home would honestly be fighting like this? I can understand if there were only a slight atmosphere of distrust and/or caution- they didn’t get along even as children and of course now that they’re grown up they’d be trying to get a better feel of eachother, but all full blown bloody starkbowl is not what I had in mind. I mean [SPOILER] Arya (essentially) only threatened to kill Sansa [SPOILER] by saying she could wear her face (can you wear the face of someone living?). I mean maybe threatened is too harsh a word? But Arya’s intention in that scene was certainly to intimidate Sansa. It was working very well. But bravo to my Sansa (Queen of my heart and my Kings heart), for standing her ground. My point is, I find this very unrealistic and if it’s not a ploy planned by my Stark girls, I very well hope they band together in the end (which they will). I just want my baby’s to understand and recognise each others struggle and bloody love eachother.

Now let’s move on to the King of my heart: Jon “I am a King” Snow. Sigh. Jon oh Jon. Why oh why would you do that? No, seriously. I’m very very angry. I saw this coming of course ( I read the spoilers- shame on me). But I seriously can’t even comprehend what you think you’re doing. I WAS ROOTING FOR YOU, WE WERE ALL ROOTING FOR YOU. [MAJOR SPOILER] There was absolutely no need for you to “bend” the knee. She had promised to help you fight the white walkers. She was going to help you fight the blue eyed demons. Soooooooooooooo why did you do that. [Spoiler] My Queen- YOU ONLY KNOW ONE TRUE QUEEN IN THE NORTH WHO’S NAME IS STARK. Sigh. I don’t get where this sudden affection for Dani has come from. It was literally non existent before. It’s either due to his gratitude for her help. Orrrrrrrrr he’s playing the game. He’s killed the boy, recognised her great affection for him, and has decided to use it to his advantage. He’s killed the boy. Hopefully it’s that latter, but I can imagine it being a mix of both. Furthermore Jon Snow, I am very cross with you, but I love you and trust you enough to know that when we are at the end, your duty to the North, to your family, to your one true Queen Sansa Stark will override everything. Including Dani. You’re a man of your word Jon snow. A man of your word.

Ah, Dany. Now this episode, Dany’s character intrigued me immensely. I’m going to start with her wardrobe choice. When she went to help our gang, she transitioned back in to her lighter coloured clothing (to show that she’s actually doing something selfless for the first time in ages). But as soon as she gets back to the boat, she has changed back in to her darker attire (to represent the dark path she’s still walking on). Nothing in GOT is a coincidence, they’ve done this on purpose. To foreshadow. To mirror her actions. I repeat nothing is a coincidence. They even throw in the conversation with Tyrion. Tyrion’s begging her not to go- to do nothing. Not because he wants our blue-eyed demon fighting companions to die- oh no. He does it because he loves her and he’s scared and he doesn’t want to lose her. But Dani refuses. She has to go. She has to help them. Why is this conversation thrown in? I think it’s to give us hope. Last episode Tyrion and Vary’s are having that whole conversation where they are convincing themselves (mostly Tyrion) that what she did to the Tarly’s (my poor Dickon), was justified. When Tyrion says she isn’t her father, Vary’s replies she never will be with the correct consul. And here in episode 6, we perhaps see the earlier version of Dany. Helping people because she wants too, because she sees it as a duty, because it’s the right thing to do. Not the Dany we’ve been seeing recently: a Dani obsessed with the iron throne because she believes it’s her birth right (lol- R+L= J. Targbowl is really on the horizon). And it gives us hope. Perhaps she makes questionable decisions, but she is still good. Nope. As soon as we’re back on the boat, back in to her dark attire to represent her dark path. I mean think about it, [SPOILER], if they wanted to paint her as this truly good leader, why accept Jon bending the knee? If she had said no, I’ll help you either way, no my faith in her would’ve been fully restored. Because she’d be helping Jon not because she got something out of it, but because she recognises the threat the white walkers pose is too real to ignore. I have a love/hate relationship with Dany. I don’t hate Dany, I love her in the way that I love Cersei- not because she’s a good person, because she’s a complex one. When her and Tyrion discuss what happened with the Tarly’s, she calls it necessary. When Tyrion explains other ways they could’ve dealt with it- SHE DISREGARDS HIM. Sigh. There’s so much I could say about Dani but honestly, I’m just not bothered.

The blue eyed army- also known as the White walkers. This paragraph will include spoilers in essentially every sentence, so I suggest you just skip this one. Okayyyyyy- let’s talk about The King of the Blues- or the night King. Whatever. Same thing. This guy is BADASS OKAY. [SPOILERS FROM HERE UNTIL THE END OF THE WHITE WALKER PARAGRAPH] The way he killed Viserion on his first attempt? Yeahhhhhh byeeeeeee. Dude’s just too cool for school. He’s too cool for the North. He’s just cool in general to be honest. I really can’t wait until season 8 and the rest of the books to find out what the WW’s true purpose is. I’m really interested to find out. They really killed my baby Benjen. Who deserved so much more in life- YOU SEE JON. BENJEN DIDN’T DIE FOR YOU TO BEND THE FRICKING KNEE. YOU POMPUS SWINE. YOU ATTRACTIVE BEAST. YOU PANTY DROPPER. Sigh. Jon Snow, King of my heart- he knows nothing. But the White walkers are seriously such an interesting aspect of the show and now that they have a dragon on their side, it’s about to get very very interesting. The wall’s coming down. And the war’s about to begin.

Tormund and a splash of The Hound- I just love Tormund and thought it was wrong to write a review and not mention him. I love him and all the cute things he said about Brienne. And his observation of the Hound was bloody spot on (the hound is another interesting character). [Slight dialouge SPOILER]. “I don’t think you’re really mean, your eyes are sad.” [SPOILER] I just thank the God’s (the old God’s and the new), that they kept him alive as it was a very very close call.

The Hammerless Gendry- A tale: A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR BLOODY GENDRY THE HAMMERLESS who indirectly saved our gang. Whom is already loyal to his future “brother” (mwahahaha) in-law and the KITN (forever and always) Jon snow. Who could’ve died but kept running. The true hero of this episode: THE HAMMERLESS GENDRY. [SPOILERS AHEAD BUT IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHERE HIS HAMMER IS READ ON] Okay, so we’ve captured a WW, just another day in the North you know- no bigie and we’re ready to return to perhaps not the comfort of dragonstone (we are essentially bloody prisoners), but definitely as far away from the blue eyed ones as possible when we find ourselves surrounded by the army. YAY. Bloody brilliant. So what does Jon who knows nothing Snow do. We send our most capable rower- sorry- runner to run back to Dadvos (I do love Daddy Davos) and get a Raven to Dragonstone stat. At first, he refuses to leave bro in-law but Jon tells him he’s the only one who can do it. So he begins to run when The Hound stops him, says he’ll be faster without the hammer and so (hesitantly), Thor- I mean Gendry- entrusts the hammer with The Hound (guess he’s worthy). And that my friends, is how Gendry the Hammerless lost his hammer. And he’s a bloody hero for it. If Gendry didn’t get to Dadvos, Dani wouldn’t have known what was going on and therefore, they’d have been screwed. Gendry is the true hero.

My final thoughts: I enjoyed episode 6 thoroughly (apart from a few bits and bobs) and don’t know what I’m going to do next week when it all ends for maybe two years as opposed to one. It definitely gave me all the feels- I shouted, I jumped, I rolled my eyes, I almost cried (twice) and I got very very angry. I don’t understand where Jon and Dany popped out of but understand its necessity in the show in order to set up Targbowl, The (inevitable) Northern revolt and the fulfilment of Dany’s prophecies (three mounts you must ride… three fires you must light). I can tell Dany is smitten with Jon. Couldn’t say the same for Jon until this episode (poor Jorah). I’m happy the gang is safe for now. And I am impatiently awaiting the arrival of Sam and Gilly at Winterfell. Littlefinger death shall be immensely satisfying. Can’t wait for this foolish Starkbowl to end. The meeting at KL is going to be epic. Dany vs Cersei. Brienne and Jamie reunion. Euron shows his face maybe? A flipping R+L=J REVEAL WOULD BE GREAT. And yeah. I have too many feelings to type coherently, but overall, I quite enjoyed that episode.

So I just caught up on “Breakdown” (yeah yeah, I know, I keep missing eps and watching them way late - people keep hogging my TV and I keep getting distracted, I can’t help it!) and:

1. This was actually a legitimately freaky episode with the brief dip into torture porn. Like the parts with... Donna’s niece, Ginger, whatever-her-name-was (I just watched and I already forgot, lmao), and the poor dude who got hacked, those were super horrific and it felt VERY old-school SPN. Which I really, really loved. But also, jfc. Now admittedly I did try to veer away from spoilers and I did pretty well, but between out-of-context gifsets and the title, I thought the episode would either be A) revolving around Sam and Dean having breakdowns and having to mutually come together and work through them, little-to-no supernatural threat, which would’ve been fun, or B) Sam and/or Dean freaking out at the sight of the workshop and flashing back to Hell and having aforementioned breakdown, which also would’ve been fun. Until the vamp flashed his fangs, I also legit thought the twist would be that it was a 100% human enemy/enemies but SUPER fucked up serial killers and cannibals and evil, evil people, a la “The Benders”, with it just being people kidnapping and brutally killing each other while other people watch on camera as snuff films on the Dark Web(TM) and pay for body parts as trophies, and Sam and Dean once again remembering Humans Are the Real Monsters. But I did appreciate the return to actual horror, so hopefully they keep it up because that’s why I watch SPN in the first place.

2. They also laid on the political stuff pretty thick, huh? lol. I didn’t mind too much, but it got to be a little jarring at times. Kinda reminded me of Charlie. Which... now makes me think Ginger and Charlie could’ve been a cute super-liberal redhead couple, hm!

3. Speaking of cute couples, I really started digging Doug and being like “aw, he and Donna are so cute!” right in the same scene he skadoodled. Dang. Well, maybe they’ll reconcile in the spinoff or something. Also, the mention of veganism by the vamp dude made me think in the part where Doug’s like, “No! I’m not like you guys, I can’t do this, I-I-” and the way the political themes were going in the episode I was fully prepared for him to say, “I’m vegan!” Which would totally be my excuse to get out of having to go kill monsters and get made fun of by demons :c and inevitably die gruesomely for having even glanced at the Winchesters.

4. Why the fuck was nobody reacting at all to Vamp Dude being such an unbelievable over-the-top douchebag, even before they found out he was a vamp? He went from “lololol yeahhhhhh that babe was HOT” -> “lololol yeahhhhhh I arranged for her to get kidnapped” -> “lololol yeahhhhhh I send people to get horribly tortured to death and their body parts auctioned off, check it out” And no one even gives him a dirty look, they just bring him with? Like I get they were focused on Ginger and Dean did rough him up earlier/they did ask why he was doing it, but it felt very much the plot was hurrying along with allowing time for real human reactions and the way all of them failed to react to almost all his comments was just super weird, with how they just let him stay smug and cocky and unbelievably evil when he was supposed to be human. I guess they didn’t have time to bring him to the police, but surely Dean would lose his temper again and beat the shit outta him, Dean’s not a very calm and controlled dude. Or at the very least unleash the angry Batman voice unto him and scare the shit out of him. And he’s responsible for putting Donna’s niece in danger, he just admitted it, so it’s weird she didn’t get much reaction to it either. Like even if he was written and acted less douchebaggily, more outrage and anger from the other characters would’ve been more in-character.

5. LMAO the scene where all the monsters are seeing Sam about to get sliced like “*gasp* yesssssss. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.” Like holy shit, is it happening?? is it really happening?!?! (Dean: no.) It’s weird also that they didn’t show Sam and/or Dean getting one last win over the watching monsters by being like “hey guess what, now we know where you fucks all are and we’re going to hunt down and kill every one of you” or “uh, uh, uh, GAME OVER *take 30 seconds to clumsily shut off camera*” OR “don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe to our YouTube channel, fuckos *shoot camera*” We didn’t even get to see the monsters reacting to Dean saving Sam. Like no screams of rage. Not even one wibbly-lipped monster-pout!

6. Sam mentioning Cass in the last line made me suddenly remember Cass has been rotting in a cage in Hell with Lucifer for... quite awhile now. Probably standing with his face against the bars, staring into space like “Whyyyyyy is it taking so long to get me out of this, Lucifer is so annoyyyyyying, Asmodeus’s accent is so cringyyyyyy” (Poor Cass. Putting it in that light made me be like, damn, he does have it rough. How many other obnoxious characters are they gonna stick him with indefinitely?)

7. FBI Monster Man was actually pretty smart about it (in theory, he could’ve just shot Sam without waking him up and giving him the big speech first, but that’s okay, I appreciate him trying to be smart with the writing forcing him to be dumb) but that would’ve been a spectacularly gruesome fate for a character, holy shit, imagine if a recurring character had actually been killed off that way, that would’ve been so messed up and upsetting. I imagine lots of H/C fics were born the night this episode aired. I want to read em, this concept had a lot of weight for me and I have my own idea for it that I want to use (but it’ll take approximately 20 billion years to get to at the pace I’m writing, I do still got +12 seasons to get through with my SPN fic-verse). If anyone found/wrote any, reblog this (or if you’d prefer, message me and let me know if you don’t want me to reply publicly) with it, I’d dig it!

Overall I’d give it about a 7/10, mostly because obviously I really liked the concept and the execution of the horror a whole bunch. Some flaws but pretty good casefic, especially for recent seasons. (Y’all know I just want teh horrorrrrrr.)
