POV you were exploring a forest car cemetery and when you left, the smell of rust, moss and rot keeps following you. (and you now you are hearing metallic creaking deeper in the forest behind you)
my very own car cryptid Moskvitch 400 that has been abandoned in the forest for a bit too long. I named it Kosla.

Classics from 80s. Automobile of a dream for city roads or go to a country house place. So, it is soon, almost here, a country house season to start. In may. Retro design. And retro style. A little celebration time for all oldschool fans.
Today such automobile – it is a real rare thing. Retro car from age of USSR. Not every day you can this car at the streets. But, I think, that I start more often to see these cars at the streets. And also, even more – I find in the internet Moskvitch show. About racing with old cars.
I am weak in models. But it is more often I can see on the wheels retro cars at the streets. Also, from age of USSR. That is a very positive evet. So, I have seen automobile Volga at the streets. Grey color. It was going by the street road, with a visual - like a new. And I was impressed. But maybe, maybe, it is not a american luxury car from 60s or 70s. Somekind Mustang class. Or, yes, it is not a sport car from 80s taken from American movies. But it is still ok car to ride, to ride the city, go to a country by car. And even to race with friends - it is good enough!
And also, it was a sport better built up versions. I know. For rally. And it is as a idea – it is actually new car series. So it is even possible to have a rally level. And I heard, that some cars, were built up even more better and they go for export series.

Today's translation #194
Pash! Illustration file 2017, Hiramatsu Tadashi's comments & interview
Part 4.
Certainly drawing cars in anime seems difficult.
Cars have fixed proportions, so when a car makes an appearance in anime, it's difficult to balance [the size] with the size of characters. It looks unnatural if characters are proportionally too big or too small. So, if it's an anime, which is centered around characters with deformed proportions, cars are also often drawn with deformed proportions to fit. By the way, it was me who chose the car for Yurio's grandpa (Kolja Plisetsky). It had to be a car that would suit an older man, so I chose Moskvitch 444 from '50 as a model. But it's an old model of car, so it doesn't have safety seat belts… Showing that in the anime wouldn't be a good idea, but I still wanted to stay true to the image of an old car, so I've shown in a exaggerated way the bolts that Yurio's grandpa used to install the seat belts to show he did that himself after he got the car (laugh).
So there are also things that actually are more difficult to show because the character design is realistic, is that right?
Yes. To give an example characteristic for this anime, it was quite difficult to draw the skates [shoes]. They have protruding blades and the shape is clearly defined. Before I got used to it, I was really struggling when I was drawing the shoes, and many times I was told by the Director or Kubo-san that I draw them too small - I remember I had to correct that a few times. Skates are significantly bigger than normal shoes - about the size of a head, or even slightly bigger. I have written on my list of things to pay attention to while I'm drawing "big!" to remember that.
As the last thing, I'd like to ask you for a message to the fans.
Thank you so much for your support of Yuri!!! on ICE. I often hear that people who are figure skating fans but don't usually watch anime, have watched the show. I think that the huge success of the anime is also thanks to their support, so I'm very grateful for that. I think that without the support of our fans, we wouldn't be able to survive the very demanding production process. In the future, I'm sure you will have many chances to meet with Yuri!!! again, through merchandise or articles in magazines, so I hope you will continue to support us.
