Does each land search with the Overload version of Winds of Abandon happen individually? The wording is quite different from Settle the Wreckage, which is why I ask.

No, it’s all a single search. 

Since the wording of multiple search effects like this can be confusing, a new rule was added recently to clarify that it’s always just a single search:

701.18h An effect may instructa player to search a library for one or more cards more than oncebefore instructing a player to shuffle that library. This is the sameas a single instruction for that player to search that library forall those cards. The player searches that library only once.
