Honestly, part of why it irritates me when people act performatively shocked at the homophobia in 2000s media is it wasn't just media. "Can you believe this aired in 2008" buddy, in 2008 I was having shit thrown at me from moving cars for having long hair, and you wanna get worked up about sitcoms?

"childlike sense of wonder" this and that. Personally, I'm cultivating my elderly sense of wonder. Hence my excitement over a perfectly ordinary bird in my backyard or an above-average-sized vegetable.

I feel like many people have a fundamental misconception of what unreliable narrator means. It's simply a narrative vehicle not a character flaw, a sign that the character is a bad person. There are also many different types of unreliable narrators in fiction. Being an unreliable narrator doesn't necessarily mean that the character is 'wrong', it definitely doesn't mean that they're wrong about everything even if some aspects in their story are inaccurate, and only some unreliable narrators actively and consciously lie. Stories that have unreliable narrators also tend to deal with perception and memory and they often don't even have one objective truth, just different versions. It reflects real life where we know human memory is highly unreliable and vague and people can interpret same events very differently

perhaps one of my hotter takes as a queer person but i’m never coming out again. you can figure it out or live in pure ignorance but either way it’s not my problem. the worst thing society ever tried to teach us was that coming out is an obligation. it’s not. it’s a privilege for you to know the depths of who i am, my sexuality included.

i love how fallible castiel is. he always has the best of intentions but that hardly ever stops him from royally screwing all of creation. he has so many redemption arcs and i think it makes him more human than any of them

i’m glad to see more and more people recognising what a freak wilson is, but if i may mention a less-remembered moment of insanity:
wilson fakes heroin and sex addiction to fuck with house. because he knows house is stalking him. so he leaves needles in his bins. average well-adjusted normal relationship behaviour.

I’m literally obsessed with the post of cas daydreaming about fucking dean, I’ve seen it on my dash like 10 times and every time I giggle over it. There’s not enough horny!cas representation in this fandom so I thank you for your contribution
lmao I’m so glad!!! I think flirty experienced Dean vs. near-virgin Cas is so funny because in my head it is like this most of the time…

I'm just saying, "We created a computer to make decisions for us, but it assimilated all of the bias that was implicit in the dataset and now makes incredibly racist decisions that we don't question because computers are logical and don't make mistakes" literally sounds like a planet-of-the-week morality play on the original Star Trek.

I'm looking up vegetarian recipes, and
Maybe I'm just sleepy but I'm enjoying thinking about things farmers would categorically refuse to grow. Poison ivy. Evil potatoes
