I’m really fighting the urge to look and be surprised and having you constantly sharing non-leak related stuff has helped me fill the Pokémon need and kept me on track to not being overly spoiled like I was for SM/USUM! ❤️

Thanks and your welcome. I’ve been avoiding swsh spoilers like the plague and I’m trying to go into these games blind this time around. Last gen when the whole dex was leaked I was spoiled through all of it so hopefully having certain tags blacklisted helps this time.

She’s a pit bull! I love her but unfortunately we couldn’t bring her with us when he moved states so we had to leave her with friends of the family in San Diego. We’ll be bringing her over once we find a place that allows dogs tho.

�� I’m not super excited about some of it’s features… it’s definitely not a main game or remake of Pokémon. It’s something entirely new. I can’t wait to see what else comes out of it. It’ll be a totally new experience for sure. But I totally agree on the price tag. I’m really upset about the new console and game prices from here on out.

I don’t understand the pricing for it since it isn’t a main title game. It’s kind of hard for me to think about buying something with this kind of content for such a steep price. I think that is really what is most disappointing about it all. They are trying to get that money.

I know you love poetry so can I ask for some pointers? I have this urge to write poetry instead of short stories recently but I’ve always had this awful relationship with poems and have trouble writing them. What’s some 101 pointers you have for a new poetry writer? ❤️

I’d love to give you (and anyone else who struggles because trust me it’s a struggle) some pointers! Please note that many people have different pointers and not everyone will agree with me but hey that’s ok

1. When it comes to poetry, you come to find it’s one of the least boundary-stricken creative forms out there

What I mean is that unless you are doing your poem in a specific form, then you’re free to write your poetry however short or long, in whatever style or topic you like. Generally poems are made out of 1 or more stanza’s, made up of lines. There’s a difference between a short story and a poem, of coarse, but who’s to say you’re poem has to be as long as the Raven by Edgar Allen Poe? In fact one poem I read in class last year was made up of two lines (on purpose). It’s called “In A Station of the Metro” by Ezra Pound. So when you're writing poetry you have a lot of elbow room to write it.

But if you want technical form of general poetry, how to write it and whatever, google has plenty of examples and what not.

2. It’s okay to try different styles, and I recommend it.

Writing poetry is a lot like doing art (in a drawing or painting sense). There are so many styles, some harder than others and everyone has a preference. I myself prefer freestyle, where I am free to write however I want and not follow any specific pattern. In fact my least favourite style is a rhyming pattern because then I often end up forcing it. Besides freestyle, you have forms like iambic pentameter, Limerick, haiku etc etc My advice is to try different ones to see what you enjoy. (It’s also fun and challenging!

3. Content can be inspired by anything-but don’t get caught up with pleasing the crowds

One thing I struggled (and have been to an extent) is trying to please people. My thought process was “nobody likes y work because its different and not relateable)

It don’t matter. I have to constantly remind myself this is ultimately for God’s glory in what every or write say or do. I’m not here to make everyone happy. You see, the most famous poems may seem to be clever or reflect the culture of their time but that poem reflects on how the author felt.

I personally love stepping out of my zones and into my imagination to write. Got an image and no idea what you’re portraying? Write it down. Heck, sometimes if it sounds pretty and you like it, write it.  It’s not about your boyfriend? Write it. It’s not about politics? Write it. Who cares what other people relate to. It’s your work. Dully noted that its ok to write those things if you want.

4. You’re gonna write bad poetry, good enough, and the best thing since sliced bread (to you)

It’s okay to write bad poetry! It’s ok to be bad at first, and its ok to be bad now and then 10 years from now. You’re not gonna love every piece you write and you’re not gonna share every piece you write. Experiment. Write in fancy pens or dollar store pens (I found a heccin nice pen from the dollar tree and they're heccin nice found here if anybody is inquiring i do my traditional line art in them and they're thin and they're only $1) write in pink doodle around it keep in a journal like you would art. Then you’re gonna get that heccin nice poem you write about your cat sitting on a desk at 3 am or a vague poem about your favourite character that people compliment but little do they know who you had in mind but they do come!!!!

5. practicepracticepractice

Join a poetry club or start one, keep a journal or many. Find writing prompts. Try to write every day. Write when you have inspiration or not. or When you have time because sometimes you’re busy and that’s ok. Remember poems can be short. Ask a friend or have a friend spam you asking for poetry (lol I bother @flightsoffancyonpaperwings all the time) but friends can help make you practice and give you ideas.

6. Have fun!

Basically, have fun with it. Don’t make it a chore, its supposed to be a hobby!

7. I’m throwing in an optional pointer that’s not really advice but really a “Hey I love this thing you should do it to” (optional!!!!!)

I’m involved in a club that promotes Spoken Word among other creative outlets. If you don’t know, it’s more than just reciting a poem. You preform this poem. It makes you get a feel for the poem and expresses the emotion and tone of the poem. There’s so much on Youtube you can find, one of my favourites being David Bowden.

It’s scary at first. Especially preforming in front of people. And you don’t have to! I’ve been writing poetry since middle school and didn’t do spoken word until my (end of first year?) second year of college. I’ve improved so much and I love it. But this could come later if you prefer.

Some of my favourite poets are David Bowden, Langston Hughs, Robert Frost, etc

that makes sense, and I understand that completely! I’m talking about work environments, where I say ‘hello, how are you?’ to my boss and they just gruffly say good, and leave me completely hanging.

9. Do you wear jeans or sweats more?I almost exclusively wear jeans when out of the house. At home I usually wear shorts, which I try not to do in public. lol

10. Do you think your life will change dramatically before 2015 2018?Only time will tell. I hope so? I am close to getting back to at least a decent place financially, and with that can come a lot of other positive changes.

40. Did you have a good day yesterday?Not particularly actually. I was gone all day long and had tons of stuff to do, which didn’t go as smoothly as I had planned.

49. What are you supposed to be doing right now?I am supposed to be working. Which I am! There is a lot of down-time at the location I am at today, so I often go on tumblr, watch stuff, or play my DS.

Do you ever pass notes to your friends in school?So first of all I haven’t been in school in over twelve years, but when I was in school mobile phones were not a thing like they are now, so that was the primary form of communication among my peers. When I met you like two years ago I think I started crushing instantly, and we’ve talked occasionally and even held a conversation a couple times but I rarely have the courage to talk to you, let alone ask you out, cause I’m convinced myself that I’m to gross for any girl to ever like me.
