I love projects like this - the reissue of Roxy Gordon "Crazy Horse Never Died". According to Paradise of Bachelors (North Carolina), this 1988 album's reissue has been in the works for a decade. It comes with a 48 page "chapbook". From the Bandcamp page: "Roxy Gordon (First Coyote Boy, or Tu Gah Juk Juk Ka Na Hok Sheena) (1945–2000) was a Choctaw, Assiniboine, and Texan poet, journalist, artist, activist, and musician." He was friends with Townes Van Zandt and Leonard Cohen and Terry Allen wrote glowingly of his work.

Roxy Gordon's (Dallas, Texas) songs stand alongside other Native artists that combine cultural references with a folk/country sound: Willie Dunn, Morley Loon and John Angaiak.

Listed: Infinite River

Infinite River is what happens when four veterans of the Detroit underground find themselves with a little extra time on their hands. Coming together during pandemic times, Gretchen Gonzales Davidson (Slumber Party, Universal Indians), Joey Mazzola (Sponge, Detroit Cobras), Warn Defever (His Name Is Alive) and Steve Nistor (Sparks, Daniel Lanois) let the music start to flow, using guitar, harmonium, tanpura and percussion to create a sound that’s equal parts arcing, droning and shimmering. “Their brand of drift is especially soothing and sublime,” Bryon Hayes wrote of their debut album Prequel, calling it “the perfect prescription for the current zeitgeist.” And the good news about that is: with at least two more full-lengths on the way (Space Mirror is due next, on August 18th), there’s enough to go around for everyone.

Speaking of spreading the love, guitarist Gonzales Davidson does some of that below with a list of some of her favorite music, much of which you’re sure to hear traces of in Infinite River’s sound.

Funkadelic — Maggot Brain

Funkadelic’s first few are just mind-blowing but this one… this one with the opening monologue and then that sundown-on-an-eclipsing-universe guitar solo. Just… damn.

Seventh Sons — 4am at Frank’s

I could put many ESP releases on this list: Godz 2, Albert Ayler’s Spiritual Unity, Cromagnon…. all make the world we drive through a little more chaotic and knowing. But Seventh Sons…this record shatters so many music genres in a true celebration of life. It is a crazy record. It is a perfect record.

The Flaming Lips — American Head

I have loved the Flaming Lips for a long, long time and admire their ability to keep releasing incredible music after all these years. This newest one is full of beautifully catchy melodies wrapped up in what seems to be dark, autobiographical subject matter… there is some heartbreaking stuff on here. And yet the music rises above and provides an epic experience.

Can — Tago Mago

Nothing much to say about perfection. Tago Mago is perfection. How the hell did anyone ever create something of this beauty? Just the first few tracks alone…those drums on “Paperhouse” — those drums that define Krautrock– FUUHHHHHKKKK — and then going right into “Mushroom”… taking off to Venus with a beat that is almost impossible to define. I love putting Tago Mago on the car stereo when trekking through the desert, watching the world around me turn alien.

The Dead C — The White House

How can I say it more clearly: yes, this is the album from Dead C that brought all of their weirdness together beautifully however, anything Michael Morley touches… one of the main Dead C members… is worth a deep gander. His new record, in the guise of the band Gate… is brilliant as well. I remember when Universal Indians opened for the Dead C in Detroit, and thinking — life could not get better. Galen, Aaron Dilloway’s band, was also opening, and it was so funny because Justin Allen, another Galen member, was grounded that night so they had to play without him. Anyway, The Dead C has been one of my favorites since the 1990s.

Simon Finn — Pass the Distance

The ultimate in stream-of-consciousness freaky folk music, Simon Finn’s Pass The Distance is a beautiful train ride through an enhanced artistic mind.

And a couple songs to consider for your listening pleasure…

Loren Mazzacane Connors — “Haunted House”

LMC has crafted such a unique guitar style, that he is sometimes overlooked in the grander discussion of life-after-John-Fahey. But don’t let that stop you from digging into his genius. “Haunted House” is his dark, sultry beautiful version of the blues… oh damn that slide guitar and his whispered vocals. Gives me chills every time.

Dino Valente — “Children of the Sun”

The rough life of Dino Valente, the original singer for Quicksilver Messenger Service who was thrown in jail for pot possession (oh sorry…FLOWER possession…should use the new lingo) right as the band was taking off. He would end up getting released and playing with them again. But it is his solo record that I love the most… with the songs of tough knowledge bleeding everywhere. This song is devastating. How does he produce an operatic tragedy in the confines of a song with just a guitar and vocals? WE ARE ALL CHILDREN OF THE SUN!

William Onyeabor — “Atomic Bomb”

I love the crazed funk that William lays down. “Body and Soul” is another great track of his… worth listening to… but “Atomic Bomb” — what the HELL is that sound he is putting together? It is not of this time… yet not of the time it came from. Did Randy Newman get sucked into an effects pedal? How much acid is in the water in Onyeabor’s Nigerian homeland? I mean… how did he make this groovy sound? I listen to it… I take it in… I love it… I get down… wayyyyyy down… and I have no idea how it exists.

  PLC (programmable logic controller) is a digital electronic device used in industrial automation. PLC is used in manufacturing control systems where cost of maintaining and developing automation systems is high, assembly lines, safety control and where you require automation in factories. Physically if we see it  is the interface between input and output devices. Dick Morley was the fastest of PLC who invented first Modicon plc .Before invention of PLC hardwired connections were done and there were lots of wiring connections which were difficult to troubleshoot.   Initially PLC worked like smart relays and one by one evolution took place and nowadays from a days from small process to a very complicated process we can use plc for simple automation to very complicated factory automation nowadays use PLC controllers for automation. Siemens, ABB, AB, Delta, Mitsubishi, Omron these are leading brands of PLC. IPCS Global Pune provides the training on these all PLC modules with maximum hands-on knowledge . Types of PLC Depending on I/O handling capacity they are classified as small ,large and very large plc. Plc are again classified as compact plc and modular plc. Initially different software with different controllers were used,  But nowadays TIA portal totally integrated automation is for the whole package where we can find plc, scada , him, drives. Similar AB plc there are Pico plc - Pico soft, Micro 800 CCW(connected component workbench), Micrologix/  SLC -RSlogic 500, PLC - RSlogic , compact logic/ control logic/ Flex logic - RSlogic 5000 . Another advanced software is Studio 5000. Hardware parts of PLC includes Power supply, Bus system, CPU, Input module , Output module, Rack and Rail, communication port, Display unit. CPU: It is a microcontroller based circuit. It consists of ALU, memory, internal timer and counter , flags, and process image memory. CPU performs the function like scanning, i/o bus traffic control, self diagnostics and communication. The brain of the whole PLC is CPU module .Manufacturers offer different modules of plc as per need of the system. Input module: it acts as a link between input devices and CPU. There is a digital input module and analog input module. Example of input devices:- Relay contact, motor starter contact, thumbwheel switches, Photoelectric sensor. Examples of digital inputs are pushbutton ,limit switches, proximity sensors, selector switches etc. When input condition is true it passes 24 vdc or 230/110v ac supply to the controller and when it is false or off ,it will pass 0 v supply. Analog inputs continuously provide the field condition to the controller for e.g. temp is 37.8 f. Output module: it is the link between output devices and CPU.Input devices connected with plc can be digital as well as analog. Example of output devices :- Alarms, Lights, Horns , Valve, Fans ,Solenoid. Bus system - There is control ,address, data bus system. Address of input file ,output file and other files like timer/counter/control register is given by the address bus system. Data bus system all data to plc modules from different modules connect to it. Control bus system mainly synchronised all data at one speed for uploading and downloading. Rack(rail) It is the platform on which all modules are mounted. Again the rack is of 4 ,7,10,13 slots . Uploading and downloading of PLC Downloading means you have developed a program and  then it is given  to the controller. Uploading means you are taking data or a program from the plc controller to your system . Protocols uses in PLC Protocols are the set of instructions used for communication purposes when placed in a network RS232, DH485, Ethernet, profibus, MPI, Profinet, Control net, Device net, USB there are some examples. Applications of PLC in different sectors 1) PLC in coal mining :- In coal mines there are many hazardous gases, gas poisonings. Mine are mostly recognized hazardous areas where accidents take place due to roof fall, gas and dust explosion. By using the PLC system, underground miners' lives can be saved. The safety system is driven by plc and with its features like alarm system, gas monitoring system it takes real time decisions to overcome the problems. 2) Food industry:- It is used in food processing, packaging ,and labelling systems. Hygiene is most impotent in the food system for this plc is used. Dairy products, Beverages, ready to use products, edible oil industry plc are used. 3) Water treatment:- The process like sedimentation, chlorination, oxidation, grit removal are done with the help of plc. 4) Wind turbine monitoring system:- To reduce the maintained cost and improve turbine performance. 5) Building management system :- Internal and external light control, fire detection, alarm system, security system, water level monitoring, protection of devices after power failure,car parking.
