Basically what appeals to me the most is how Derek is soooo protective of this man he sees as some kind of younger brother it's almost embarrassing- but by not returning Spencer's feelings he is the one hurting him the most and there is nothing he can do about it, so it's a balancing act between "Don't give him false hope, don't give him fucking false hope-" and not wanting to break his heart. Spencer is just happy they are still close friends and he is not being threw on lockers 🫶🏼🫶🏼

Also I think that the already funny scene where Derek tries to encourage boy wonder to have faith and wait until he can tell Maeve he loves her (she gets murdered-) gets even funnier if you add the context that he wants pretty boy to hopelessly stop pining for him and ends with the same result.

Like they never actually, directly approach the subject until after season 12- but it's evident as shit lmao so there is never really the "oh shit he loves me" moment but rather a slow, sinking realization. So there alot of arkward "There are alot of fishes on the sea..." I directs, but Spencer is clueless to the fact he is very gently being told to move on and instead goes full "...Yeah there are, what an odd tangent Morgan" while investigating a crime scene or some shit. Like even tho Spencer is the one with the pathetic, fruitless crush he is used to be rejected so even though it really hurts- he made peace with it long ago....           The air tasted sweet as the sun gently soaked their skin. Pale fingers glided through the water at the edge of his pool, and his feet gently floated underneath him. Spencer felt a peace in the weightlessness of his backyard that afternoon, no noise other than the wind rustling the trees and the odd splash of the water against his legs.

          Slowly his eyes fluttered close as he loses himself in the tranquility of it all. The heat, the breeze, even the sun which Spencer was known to detest has made him smile. He takes a deep breath and wiggles his legs in the water before easing himself in slowly. 

The water was hot after sitting in the sun all day. Spencer reveled in the warmth around his body before he slunk even further underwater to wet his hair. He stayed under the line for a while, almost dreading coming back up for air. 

His legs and arms falling weightless under his head as he drifted under the water. Eventually, his body naturally bobbed up for air and he gasped hard only now realizing how long he’d been down there.

His eyes burst open when he heard his husband walk out of their covered porch, and he instinctively rose out of the water, his swimsuit clinging to his boney hips and his hair dripping onto the ground. By the time Aaron walks up to him, he's sitting in his cushioned chair with a newspaper in his hand.

"How did you sleep?"

It was almost lunchtime, a little after noon, and this was the first time he had spoken to him today. He’d heard him speak, ask him a question he knew the answer to, but instead of talking back, he pretended not to hear. Continuing with his paper in one hand and resting his water on the table with his other.

The older man looked down at him, his pale legs hiding under the shade of their cabana. And the sheer cover-up he had bought him waving in the wind, barely clutching to his frail body.

'He's so skinny.'

He thought to himself, not breaking eye contact with the milky flesh of his exposed skin, how badly he wanted to mark his body, red and purple marks littering his lower stomach and thighs. Hickey’s all over his shoulders and high neck letting everyone know who he was. Who he belonged to.

But Aaron and Spencer haven't slept together in weeks.

Spencer would act aloof, and Aaron was too stoic not to beg. He was the dominant even when he was wrapped around Spencer's finger. He was the one who slammed him into the bed and thrust against his slim body. The one who pushed himself down his throat even after he’d begged him to stop. 

Until Spencer had told him he wanted a small break, and he respected that.

Even if it meant many nights with his hand around his cock in their shower, roughly thrusting into his calloused fingers while Spencer pretended to sleep in the room next over.

Sex, in the beginning, was wild and fun. It was exciting to walk past his boss' office when no one knew how hard he had slammed him into his desk the night before. The nights they'd spend in shared hotel rooms where Aaron's hands clamped onto his mouth to stop him from screaming his name.

It was different when they became official; the purple and black bruises became lighter beige and pinks. His dark red marks on his back became softer from unenthusiastic scratches in the ‘heat’ of the moment. 

Hotch didn't realize how long he was thinking about their sex life until he felt his blood rush to his appendage and diverted his head. With his neck craned, he saw the construction men pull up to their house.

It was a huge house; a hefty salary as a lawyer and federal agent left Aaron wealthy. To buy lovely homes, watches, and silk cover-ups for his Spencer.

He got up to greet them at the door, leaving his husband sitting in their poolside cabana. Spencer lifted his head at his absence before his eyes drifted to their pool, clear and calm in a soft blue color. He thought about getting in again before thinking of what that would do to his modesty.

Aaron had always liked seeing him in the skimpiest outfits, buying him slim pieces of fabric in place of actual clothes. In the beginning, he found it dirty and avant-garde, but now something had changed to turn his once lustful desires into modest and shy chores.

Of course, he loved Aaron; he was married to him, he shared a life with him.

But he'd ask himself that question again and again.

'Do I?'

After they got married, they bought the house. A big five-story home with a furnished basement and pool. Spencer always noticed how Aaron strengthened his ego with significant expenses; all of the scents, flowers and expensive dinner dates were numerous ways to prove that to him.

He'd loved it all in the beginning. How their big house was always so full of love and cherished for each other, but as the years grew older, the saturation dampened.

But the love was still there.

          "Spencer!" He'd heard his lover call him. He'd wanted to stay aloof but when he looked up he saw another man with him he straightened out and scooted to the edge of the seat waiting for them as they walked up.

Spencer took greater notice to the man walking up. He wore a dark black tank top and scuffed jeans he'd gotten paint on at some point. But the strains added to his character, he profiled his walk, the way he talked with his hands. Everything about him seemed new and interesting. Intoxicating almost.

Then he walked up past his eye line so he shifted his head up to the sun. The bright light behind his head making him look ethereal with a bright halo.

"Spencer I'd like you to meet Derek Morgan."

The man extends his hand and much to Hotch's surprise the younger man takes it. "Spencer Hotchner. It's a pleasure to meet you."

"The pleasures all mine."

No one asked but I just finished so here a my criminal minds opinions.

Favourite male character: it’s a tie between Spencer and Hotch. But I can’t choose because I’m letting my infatuation with Reid get in the way

Favourite female character: Emily Prentiss- badass,funny, compassionate- wine mom vibes and a bi-queen you cannot convince me otherwise. Tara comes up close second.

Character I aspire to be: Emily- see above

Character I relate to: Alex Blake- a linguist with complicated family situation- c’est moi

Character I want to be with: does it need saying? Reid. I never really saw this dom energy the internet seems to see (maybe only when he pretended) but I love that intelligent soft dork with hidden trauma nonetheless.

Favourite friendship: Garceid and Moreid. Don’t make me choose but I need a Morgan bff in my life to call me cute pet names and be my biggest supporter. Shoutout to Hotchdad supremacy- loved all his interactions with his children.

Favourite canon ship: I never really felt a romance edge to the show and enjoyed that. I guess Simmons and Kristy had a nice marriage- too many kids though.

Favourite non canon ship: I was disappointed nothing Garvez really materialised tbh. If I had to pick one

Ships I’m really not into: Romantic hotchreid and any ships with unsubs.

Character I liked the least (cus I don’t hate any of them really- except Linda Barnes): Kate or maybe Matt? I just didn’t feel like I connected them as much as all the other “new recruits” over the seasons.

Favourite episode: 4x03 minimal loss- my two faves centre stage.

Favourite season: I can only go by the season that has my most favourite eps (separate post) because I can’t choose. So… looks like season 9?

Favourite Reid era: seasons 7-11. It’s basic but god he was serving looks the whole time

Episode that made me cry: 11x18 - those goodbyes and that last look. I’m tearing up thinking about it.

Most memorable episode: the lesson with the puppets or the one with that unsub who took eyes. Creepy ones stick.

Favourite director: MGG- you can tell within two seconds it’s him. If it’s well shot and creepy you know you’re in for one of his gems.
