It’s very late at night and I cannot sleep because this is on my mind so I have to get it out…

THIS FREAKING SCENE
Oh my gosh I can’t stop thinking about it. (Spoilers for Xenoblade 3 which I really hope you play so avoid this if you don’t wanna be spoiled)
Wow this scene has some new context after all we’ve learned. Manana knows EXACTLY what she’s saying here, she’s not just randomly bantering. She knows that she’s pushing the group towards understanding their “real enemy” Vandham mentioned. Their real enemy is the world they live in, specifically the rules that govern the world. Of fighting endlessly, dying over and over again, of never being able to truly live. Riku and Manana both want the party to understand their mission, to change the world. They even lead the group to discussing how they differ from Moebius, how they aren’t “supervillainpon” even though they also killed. How their choices were but reactions to their circumstances, not innate to their behavior. And thus, it is the world that is the real enemy, the real supervillain as Manana says.
Then Taion cuts in, with a very in character hyper-logical response that the world itself being a bad place ultimately leads to the idea of suicide, of simply succumbing to the natural order or killing oneself so as to not take part in it. Wild that right after we get to see Colony Tau basically with just that ideology, of slowly strangling itself behind the ideologies of avoidance and inaction. If the world offers no choice but to kill, even though it is against everything one stands for, then the only answer is to kill oneself so that one may not be forced to go against their belief.
But that’s when Noah steps in, and honestly he has the perfect response to that logical conclusion. Sure, the world may be a bad place. It may force us to kill, to end others so that we might live. But taking a look around, nothing exists solely for anyone there. The moon doesn’t shine for us, but it is us who assign it meaning. We assign meaning to the things in life that we see, nothing in the world is innate. That includes the rules of the world. We can change those rules, given enough willpower and determination, and make a better future for everyone. And besides…
“The world doesn’t just vanish because you’ve closed your eyes.”
Man that can apply to so many different things, ughhhhhh I wanna get a like poster made with just those words on it. It’s such a great line, not only in that context but also just in general. Life happens whether you’re looking for it to or not. Simply turning away isn’t an option, because it fixes nothing, and only leaves things worse.
This game is so good I could rant about each and every scene here for literal hours. A literal masterpiece of a story that I really wish more people fully understood. If I had any artistic talent I would be doing nothing but making things about this game. Maybe I need to try more, gotta practice what this game and I preach I suppose.
Anyways, thanks for reading this far down. Maybe I’ll do more of it if I have the motivation tomorrow or later.

heheheh @legomonkiekidfan514 you have activated my yap card 👀
ok so, i personally recommend going into all 3 xenoblade games completely blind, but if you must know there will be vague spoilers cause it's honestly IMPOSSIBLE to explain this franchise without spoiling a lil bit
the main thing you have to know is that the world/universe where xenoblade chronicles 1 happens is completely different to the world/universe where xenoblade chronicles 2 happens
which means you can play xenoblade1 or xenoblade2 in any order! (i personally started with xenoblade2)
HOWEVER
both stories happen simultaneously, and by the end something happens in both games' worlds that end up merging both into one world/universe
the merging of both the xenoblade1 & xenoblade2 worlds creates the world of xenoblade3, which is why it's not recommended to start xenoblade3 without playing the other 2
all 3 games + their dlc are available on switch btw so if you own a switch you can play the entire franchise :-)
now, explaining each game is basically impossible in only one post, but since this comment was made in a xenoblade1 comic, i can explain the first game down below if you're interested
this is with as much vague spoilers as i can lol but xenoblade 1 starts with a millenium grudge/war between two territories
the mechonis — home to the machina and the mechon, sentient creatures made completely out of metal
and the bionis — home to a plethora of biological races, such as the humans (called homs in this world)
the mechon, the robot like creatures of mechonis, have attacked the bionis various colonies, where mostly humans live, for years with the aim of wiping all life in bionis
we don't know how many colonies there were, but by the beginning of the game the only 2 colonies left are colony 6 and colony 9
now, the reason why mechon have been so successful in wiping out human colonies is because no weapon can hurt their metal bodies, they are impervious to human weapons and thus humans cannot defend themselves against mechon attacks
that is until colony 9 gets their hands on THE MONADO
now, the monado is a legendary weapon AND THE ONLY WEAPON who can kill the mechon however THE MONADO KILLS IT'S WIELDER EVERY TIME
so yeah, you can kill your enemies and save everyone, but with your life as the price
the only human to ever been able to wield the monado and NOT DIE was a warrior from colony 9 named DUNBAN, who thanks to his battle prowess, was able to stop mechon attacks for one entire year
however wielding the monado left him chronically disabled, he is unable to move or use his dominant sword hand and suffers chronic pain
the game starts with our protagonist, SHULK!
shulk has been obsessed with the monado since forever, he's a mechanic and yearns to discover how to eventually wield the sword without, well dying or being horrifically hurt
the plot begins when a new BRUTAL mechon attack befalls colony 9, shulk's home, with mechon not only killing people but EATING them as well
shulk, in a desperate move, wields the monado to save his home, knowing that the sword might kill him
the sword, however, accepts him as his new wielder and not only does it not hurt him but grants him the ability to SEE THE FUTURE!
even with the monado by their side and this new ability, shulk is unable to save the colony, losing his home and loved ones because of a mechon with a human like face, who is immune to the monado's attacks
he bows to destroy every single mechon and bring ruin to mechonis and also kill metal face (the mechon with a human face), and to also find out what IS the monado and how to unlock its full power and WHY is he able to wield it without well, dying
through his journey, shulk makes a lot of allies and finds out that things are way more nuanced than he originally believed, that there's a reason for the mechon attacks and that the monado's origins and powers are a mystery for a reason
and well, sometimes being chosen as the wielder of a legendary weapon isn't as great as stories make it seem, sometimes it's more like a curse

I'm now curious if you're thinking Xenoblade/LU crossovers, what races would the rest of the Chain be?
I mean, I was just brainstorming possible xenoblade races for each link lol but I'm not gonna do anything about it, I may sketch them as the races but if I have free time some day only hehe
Anyway my ramblings about each link and what race they would be below
Sky: pure blooded high entia from xenoblade chronicles 1. The high entia are an ancient race of long lived bird people that are secluded from everyone and live in a floating technologically advanced city. They all have white hair and white wings to match, their wings are long enough they can fly with them. Here's Prince Kallian from xenoblade 1, which is the vision I have for Sky since Kallian has like massive wings lol longer than others
Warriors: a Half blooded high entia. In xenoblade chronicles 3 there are no pure blooded high entia left since something happened in xenoblade1 and now they're mostly mixed with homs (humans). These high entia have small wings that are useless for flying, their hair isn't white and they have normal life spans. I see Warriors similar to Zeon from xenoblade 3, Zeon is the commander of colony 9 in Keves and uses a sword and shield. He also has the tiniest wings of all high entia in xenoblade3 and I think that's hilarious for warriors, like SMALL WINGS FOR YOU!

For four, wind and legend I see them as the Nopon race but from different nations. The nopon are this adorable race of furry creatures with hand like wings, they are either traveling merchants, craftsmen or they're into illegal stuff lmao and they get away with it thanks to being adorable
So, the nopon:
Four: Kevesi Nopon from xenoblade chronicles 3. In xenoblade 3 there are two nations that are in constant war Keves and Agnus, I see four as a nopon from the Keves side, he is a blacksmith that maintains the soldier's weapons and shields. I see him as riku from xenoblade3 since he's the one who maintains the weapons for the kevesi characters in game
Wind: Argentum Nopon from xenoblade chronicles 2! Argentum is a port city where all the illegal stuff happens LMAO there's a lot of nopon shops, lots of illegal trading and lots of ships with merch! I can totally see Wind as the nopon captain of his own ship doing illegal tradings in Argentum lmao some cute nopons from Argentum so u get the vision:

Legend: THE HEROPON OF FRONTIER VILLAGE FROM XENOBLADE1!!!!!! In xenoblade 1 there's a nopon village that selected a "heropon" to help with the main protag's party (in reality they were annoyed at him so they throw him at you and your party so he leaves with you lol) anyway, the heropon in xenoblade1 is my favorite character ever and I feel like legend would be selected to be that year's heropon against his will lmao here's the LEGENDARY HEROPON RIKI aka how I picture legend

Time: a gormotti from xenoblade2! The gormotti is a race of cat people that live from the earth and are also mostly farmers. There's two types of gormotti, ones that are more animal and ones that are more human. Time is the variant that's more human, like Milton here
Twilight: also a gormotti from xenoblade2 but the variant that's more animal than human, like this npc

Wild: ok hear me out....hear me out.... this is a spoiler for xenoblade1 but like...... if you wanna play xenoblade 1 don't read this ok this is a massive spoiler lmao
Ok?, ok so.... a face mechon for wild omg ok so in xenoblade 1 the kingdom of mechonis attacks the kingdom of bionis, mechonis is a mechanical kingdom with metal races like the machina and the mechon, the bionis have yeah you guessed it, biological races.
The mechon race cannot be destroyed by any type of weapon with the exception of the monado sword. The monado sword cannot hurt biological beings, just metal beings. The people of mechonis find a way to bypass it, by grabbing HUMANS and then PUTTING their DNA in a mechon, making a cyborg kinda deal known as a face mechon, by doing this, they make the monado sword USELESS cause since the cyborgs have biological tissue it cannot hurt them, since the monado can ONLY hurt metal beings
In xenoblade1 one of the main characters dies, the mechon grab her body and basically resurrect her as a cyborg aka a face mechon, she stays the rest of the game as a metal/biological being. Her body is fully metal, without organs or fluids, but her head is her biological one
There are other 2 characters that go through the same process
Anyway, that same thing happening to wild lol here's one of the cyborgs aka face mechon

Hyrule: an Urayan from xenoblade2! In xenoblade 2, the kingdom of uraya is a mostly underground kingdom full of caves and minerals, and it's people have rock-like skin, because of like, being a cave dwelling race! Here's some examples of urayans:
ANYWAY YEAH
I tried to simplify the absolutely INSANE plots of all xenoblade games to be as friendly for people not into it, but these are the races I imagine them all to be (:
#this took me an unnecessary long time to write lmao#excellent way for me to spend my time during a Saturday afternoon#miry's ask box
