Whats your main blog?

@caseyscraftycorner -- i mostly reblog stuff but also post about fiber arts, board games, ttrpgs (note: not d&d 5e), and various musings.

Right now, the bear in my profile picture is 806jr and the bear in my header image is 151 Walker. The photos are screenshots from the Explore.org cams and were taken by me in fall 2023.

How do you know so much about the bears?

See the media links in my new pinned post. It's all just those and the powers of autism and adhd.

When did you start watching the bear cams?

I started watching them (or highlights re-posted to youtube) occasionally back in 2019, after 435 Holly won Fat Bear Week, but it wasn't until this past year that i really got into them.

How do you find so much time to watch the live cams and post about them?

I'm unable to work due to a combination of physical, developmental, and mental illness disabilities, and I need to fill my time somehow. Also, it's good background noise to have on when I'm crocheting/knitting/making pixel art.

How many bears can you identify?

It depends on some specific circumstances, but i'd say i can generally identify about a dozen of the bears at Brook's River. This might sounds like a lot, but keep in mind that nearly 80 non-cub bears have been seen on the cams so far this season.

Can you identify this bear for me?

Nope! Your best bet is to check the comments on the live cams for an ID. That's where I get about 90% of the IDs in my posts from.

You blocked me/my friend, what gives?

if I have blocked someone it's probably because I saw something transphobic on their blog. I'm a nonbinary man, so transphobes will be blocked on sight. I also block blogs that are blank, to reduce bots. The only other situation in which I block people is when they post about hunting bears specifically, but this is really uncommon for me to run in to and as such is not likely to be the answer.

Questions About Blog Language & Topics

Why do you list most bears' ages as X.5 years?

Brown Bears are born in mid-winter, and we see them between late June and late October, so it's more accurate. it's also the terminology used by Katmai, particularly for cubs.

Why do only some bears have names, and are those official or unofficial names?

All bears that frequent Brooks Falls have numbers, but only some have names. The older bears with names (Holly, Otis, Chunk, Grazer) were largely named by rangers at Katmai. However, the NPS has moved away from naming monitored animals, due to the issue of subconscious pet-ification or humanization of wild animals by humans. You can read more about their position here. Young bears with names, like 4.5 year olds 428 Studious and 429 Social, are named by the bear cam viewers and not staff at Katmai, so their names are unofficial.

Which bears are related to who/are there any family trees/is 856 503's father/etc

Bear pregnancy is complicated. Two bears from the same litter can be from two different fathers, and both sows and boars mate with multiple partners during mating season. Therefore, any ideas about any boar being any specific bear's father is purely speculation unless we have DNA evidence.

In addition, unless we see a cub with their mother in early summer and then they separate shortly afterwards, saying that any specific subadult was any specific cub is also generally speculation (unless there is DNA evidence) due to the fact that by the time we see them, it has been 6 months, and young bears do a lot of growing and changing in that time. The guesswork we do here is more reliable than guessing fathers, but it is still fundamentally guesswork. There are DNA collection efforts every few years at Katmai, to monitor the genetic diversity of the bears in the area, but not enough bears have had their DNA collected at this point to accurately map most families at this time.

I'm curious however, what do you like about ShinRan's relationship? 🧐

Hi! Don't worry about being a disaster when it comes to the messaging. I perfectly understand where your coming from (especially since my midterms are like only a couple weeks after Christmas Break). AND FUCK YEAH!!! I honestly love both so much, even though I mainly write Angsty fics. I especially love it when Angst and Fluff is used in the same fic like for example, in one paragraph, some dude's hanging with his friends after recovering from an attempted murder. Next thing you know, WHAM! He's turned into some horror and his friends don't even know as they panic (totally not referencing the planning for one of my fics there. NOPE!)

And awwww, I wanted to be horrifying for just a little while, but oh well (Can I steal your elves FYI? I need to eat SOMETHING in order to get all of the energy for my fics)

And fuck yeah! I honestly don't mind dreamy and trippy colors and the like (also you're implying that you're making fanart which is making me very happy rn). I just REALLY love art in general (and Shinran, which is making foam at the mouth rn because I love the ship way too much).

Speaking of Shinran, you wanna hear my opinions about it?

Well, for one, I really like how Ran and Shinichi are set up. Even though Gosho stuck with the Childhood Friends Trope when writing their romance, I honestly love the trope when it's well-executed. And it's done pretty decently here. Outside of the heavy graphic mutual pining, you honestly get a sense of how well they jive at being best friends. Which is honestly the step I wish some ships took to make their ships more realistic because it's so crucial for the characters to understand how well they could survive around each other NORMALLY as just friends. Because there are some ships that jump straight into shipping the characters straight from a really complex hateful, but completely canon and realistic rivalry/enemy-ship to an ooc or completely toxic romance (*LOOKS DIRECTLY AT KOMAHINA CUZ THAT'S THE EXACT REASON WHY I HATE THAT SHIP!*)

And once things start rolling the ball with the whole APTX shrinking, Ran gets really worried about Shinichi. So much so that she starts trying to figure out what happened to him, only to end in a suspicion arc that ends with Conan concealing his identity once again. Which I honestly love. Cuz usually these arcs are so angsty and painful at the same time, because you can see the pain Shinichi's Cone-ification has inflicted on both sides of the relationship, but at the same time, you know Conan can't reveal himself.

However, once the antidote comes into play, things start finally rolling for the relationship, and it's honestly one of my favorite parts about Shinran. Sure, IRL, it takes like a couple years before they move to the next milestone, but in Canon, it's only been a few months. Which is really fast considering how slow relationships develop normally, ESPECIALLY IN JAPAN! However, it isn't going so fast that it's completely out of the realm of possibility. Plus, the urgency fits with how Shinichi can be only around so much before he turns back into Conan, and the fact that Ran is completely clueless when it comes to his black org fight (I honestly have the theory that at this point, Ran's been thoroughly convinced Shinichi's Conan, and is just waiting for him to tell her WTF HAPPENED THAT NIGHT?!).

And that's not even counting the non-canonical headcanons and theories I have on Shinran's relationship. Both have really crappy parents and they generally gravitate towards each other due to how much they helped one another during their initial parental torments. AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON MY MENTAL HEALTH HEADCANONS!!! Cuz this ask will probably be three times as long with them. Anyway, I hope you like my Shinran two cents. It's crappy, I know, but there's so much about the ship I like that it's hard for me to put it all in an ask-answer.

An Ace in Time: Edgeworth

Was thinking about Edgeworth in the An Ace in Time AU, here’s what I have for him as far as backstory goes in regards to what’s happening with him up to the point Phoenix becomes a noodle ghost himself:

He died partway through the resolution of the DL-6 resolution case, whether Manfred got to him or someone who felt he had wronged them/their family (justified or not) did, he ended up dying a day or so in, and he was such a mess of emotions at that point that he came back as a vengeful spirit that just... didn’t want anyone near him, go away, they were all right to call him a demon, he’s a mess of terror and self-hate. Phoenix, in a very on-brand move, is the only one who has the courage to approach him and repeats his plea from before, let me defend you. Miles says the only reason Phoenix isn’t afraid is that he has a protective amulet on (the magatama - reveals lies and protects you from evil spirits!). Phoenix promptly hands it off to Maya all, “Nope, I don’t care, I don’t care that you’re dead, I don’t care that you’re all dangerous and scary, you’re innocent and I’m going to prove it.”

And he dang well does (and makes history as the first person to ever defend a vengeful ghost in court (not to mention have said ghost cooperate and behave the entire time), and also the first person to help a vengeful spirit find peace by winning a court case for them).

After this, Edgeworth just... sort of hangs around. He’s a ghost now, so emotions work a little differently - after receiving the closure of that trial and about his father’s death he’s just... not vengeful anymore. He’s at peace. He just hasn’t moved on yet (Maya personally blames Nick, weird stuff always happens around Nick). Sometimes he still helps out at the Prosecutors’ Office (there’s a handful of people there who are of the opinion, ‘Well he didn’t stop being an amazing lawyer just because he died, might as well get his input on this”), usually can be found wandering around the Peoples’ Park - he didn’t get to spend a lot of time outdoors before, so he’s enjoying it now. Also hangs around the Wright & Co office at times (Phoenix and Maya especially encourage this in the summer - ice powers = cold just wafts off of him if he lets it = more effective and cheaper than an air conditioner, just put on some Steel Samurai reruns and he’ll stay put until you turn them off again).

He’s a lot more mellow now, his baseline setting is ‘at peace,’ so he tends to be quite calm (this often just means he’s more likely to give you a sassy look or skeptical snort than verbally roast you unless you did something that’s really worth commenting on). He still hasn’t fully recovered from everything he suffered in life, but from his perspective these things went from “bleeding wounds” to “mostly healed scars” in a matter of moments. The emotional scars are still there, he’s not ready to talk about or deal with their existence yet, but they don’t hurt anymore, so for now he’s mostly enjoying not having to carry all that guilt and pain.

If he’s too badly scared, he’ll freeze himself into the middle of a giant lump of ice - it’s not on purpose, he just does it, can’t hurt him if you can’t get to him!!! ...sometimes he’ll also do this when he just doesn’t want to bother with people, nope, not socialing, can’t make me, I’m dead and in a block of ice, so there. How fast the ice melts depends on how much he wants it to - could be a couple minutes, could be a couple hours. Earthquakes are very much an ice-cube-ification trigger.

To the touch, he feels much as he did when alive, just colder. He has no idea why he has a crown as a ghost, this lack of knowledge vaguely annoys him, and frankly he’d rather stick with ‘demon prosecutor’ rather than this new ‘king of prosecutors’ moniker people have come up with, he never even won that award-?!

Most of the places where he’d be prosecuting if he was alive, he’s replaced by Franziska in this world. She prosecutes the cases and Miles just... shows up from time to time when he’s needed. Sometimes it’s to help Fran, sometimes it’s to help Phoenix, occasionally it’s just to judgmentally observe and apply bandaids and frozen compresses after everything’s gone south. He didn’t go to Kurain at first because, dude, these ladies specialize in channeling and banishing spirits - probably not a good place for him, plus he might catch on fire or something just setting foot there. Then Phoenix pulls his dang stunt with the bridge and Miles just... appears at his bedside and it’s like, “Welp, guess I’m here and not on fire, time to help out.” (It turns out that there is literally no law saying a non-vengeful ghost can’t practice law, Maya is so upset she missed all this once Phoenix fills her in).

Binge-Watching: M3: The Dark Metal, Episodes 13-15

In which, at long last, this show finally becomes bad enough to be entertaining.

Ow, The Edge

At this point, I think it’s safe to say I’ve officially given up on M3. From start to finish, its first twelve episodes were a thoroughly miserable experience, exemplifying all the worst writing techniques I’ve seen in anime fused together in an unholy amalgamation of suck. And now, we don’t even have the decency of the genuinely excellent first OP to help us weather the storm. So imagine my surprise to be rounding the halfway point of this show and realize that I’m... well, interested isn’t the word. God, interested is so not the word. But I can’t help but admit to a kind of... perverse fascination, let’s say. This show has pissed me off so much as this point that I genuinely don’t know if it’s even capable of pissing me off anymore. But god help me, I almost want to see it try. I almost want to see just how proudly, ignorantly, ridiculously bad this show can get. I don’t want to just sink into numbness and spend the second half feeling the life drain from me, I want to revel in this show’s awfulness. Because at this point, that’s the only survival mechanism I have left. M3 has taken so much from me already, but I refuse to let it take away my capacity to feel.

And already, the second half’s giving me plenty of garbage to chew over. And all of it centers around Akashi’s reaction to Sasame’s death and Pod-ification. Which, first off all, how fucking shitty is it that Sasame doesn’t even get to die on screen? We aren’t even allowed the dignity of watching her make that fatal choice except in flashbacks after the fact, that’s how cheaply this show treats her. Not to mention how fucking ridiculous it is that as we keep stacking up new Super Robots, it has taken us until episode fourteen for one of the female characters to be one of the Super Pilots piloting them. For fuck’s sake, we got three shitty, boring dudes in these super important roles before Mahmu’s given a chance to stand among them. What about Raika, the skilled test pilot who we saw kicking ass in a robot back in the first episode? Shouldn’t she, at least, have enough experience to be part of the first wave of LIM special ops? But nope, clearly the dangerous rapist psychopath deserved to pilot the soul of the girl he psychologically bludgeoned to death was clearly the more logical option. And the shitty scientist character has the gall to act like Emiru’s soul rejecting him was some big surprise. Yeah, who would’ve thought a rapist and his victim might not exactly get along. I swear, this show is so fucking callous about the feelings of its female characters it’s pathetic.

So Much Lol

But forget that shit, we’re here to talk about Akashi. Because following Sasame’s death, Akashi descends into, quite frankly, the most entertainingly over-the-top bout of impotent man rage I think I’ve ever seen. Jesus Christ, that was actually entertaining. Watching this smarky, jaded jackass completely lose his shit because his precious waifu died actually put a smile on my face. He just utterly falls apart screaming and crying like the insecure, needy incel manchild he is, and it’s great. Just listen to him wait about how he’s “had enough of being protected” as he smacks demon crows out of the sky, because the thought of being protected by the helpless damsel he was dead-set on saving himself makes him lose his goddamn mind. He’s such a wreck that Fake Sasame is able to completely fool him by acting out his own perfect little redemption fantasy. Here before him is a Sasame in skimpy clothes who dotes on him endlessly, does the cliche “sexily rip my clothing to make a bandage for you” deal, sticks her ass out when she climbs on the carousel, falls in such a way that he lands on top of her with her torn dress splayed out and revealing her goodies to the world, and he just fucking falls for it hook, line, and sinker. It’s so shamelessly shitty that it’s honestly kind of hilarious.

But even that’s nothing compared to his dream about Minashi cucking him. Yes, this really happens. He has a melodramatic sadboi dream about Minashi groping Sasame and kissing her in front of him with epic tragedy music playing in the background as they both say it’s for his own good, and it’s the funniest fucking thing ever. I don’t even know if M3 is somehow intentionally holding Akashi’s incel brain up for ridicule or if it’s just this lacking in self-awareness about who its protagonist really is. But one thing’s for sure: this show finally got so abysmal it managed to make me laugh from the sheer spectacle of it all. And I can’t see that as anything other than an improvement.

Odds and Ends

-It is uncanny how similar to Guilty Crown this metallic menace feels. I should’ve known right away that wasn’t a good sign, tbh.

-No, fuck you, you don’t get to make the scientist funny after all the shit he pulled. Fuck you.

-Okay, that’s just odd. If the fact that they were spirited away was supposed to be secret, why just casually reveal it then? If it was okay to talk about, why did no one ever tell them?

-Seriously, are we ever gonna fucking find out how Mahmu’s writing stories into reality? This can’t just be a poetic plot device for reconciliation.

-...okay, I don’t know why we’re chilling in the Eva Finale Theater Pocket Dimension, this time with Big Glowy Tree. But it’s probably stupid.

-”This wench was with the Corpse.” EXCUSE THE FUCK SUBTITLES I DON’T THINK THAT’S THE CONTEXT YOU WANT

-BITCH THAT WAS FROM THE FIRST OP YOU CAN’T FLASHBACK TO A SCENE IN THE OP THAT NEVER HAPPENED IN THE SHOW WHAT

Trial 5 - So about that one thing... (1)

WILL THE ROBOPHOBIA NEVER CEASE FOR EVEN A MOMENT -

Investigation 1 / 2 - second half is where I put my own theories that I penned before playing the trial.

and man was I proven wrong almost instantaneously lmao - but I’m getting ahead of myself. On with the show!

Poor K1-b0, honestly. He had such a great epic speech planned, totally interrupting Monokuma’s normal opening for the trial -

H-Hm. The fact that you’re asking that means that you’re either putting on a really good act right now, or I am so very, very wrong right out the gate. But with that said, where is the sixth person? Maybe that’s what I should call them, honestly. The Sixth Person. The Unknown Loudmouth who thrives off others’ attention. The Mysterious Purple Boy Wonder. ‘K’, if you will.

omg they... have question marks... on their faces.... Now this is definitely a first. So we’re actually going to go the whole trial without either of them, huh. Sure, one of them being gone I was half-heartedly prepared for, but both? Damn.

I’m 99% sure ‘Never let a good crisis go to waste’ is like Monokuma’s theme or something.

They are?! Have they been hiding in here the whole time??? That... is actually a really good hiding place? Though I have no idea how they’d be able to get down here before a trial was called...

There’s that same base assumption: Culprit = Mastermind = Kokichi. But what if one of those isn’t true? Or, well, two? Could it be Culprit = Mastermind? Or Culprit = Kokichi? Or just... well, neither?

Man, just... the fact that you’re trying to shut down discussion really lends itself to suspicion. I don’t think I’m drawing the wrong conclusion by saying she was the one who cleaned up after the fact, but I suppose the option of her outright killing Kokichi or mercy-killing Kaito is still a possibility? I still don’t think she’s the culprit because I don’t think she was able to get in until after the crossbow shots were fired (aka let in by Kaito) but...

Or... or if she found Kaito dead already, from illness, and then crushed the body to frame Kokichi for it... but if she thought he was the mastermind, then she would think he’d have control of the full trial and would know that selecting him as the culprit would be the wrong answer, right??? Yeah okay following that idea to the end was pointless in the end but at least I got it out of my system. >3> I also don’t think she would disrespect Kaito’s body like that tbh unless she had to, so...

Oh man are we going to get an end-of-trial reveal then? I’m just gonna be vibrating anxiously in my seat then, I suppose. look Sweetcheeks we’re in sync again!

Aaaah, the class is so small now... I mean, we don’t even have the sixth person we should have. This is sixth chapter-levels of small. what is with the number six showing up all of the sudden

I had to grab this screenshot because tell me this doesn’t give off the impression of a sniper scope lens! Maybe that’s just me? I just really like taking a moment to appreciate the design of the text in the trials ~

I didn’t think this was going to come up so early!

And the one to the back looks bad.... Was it just dripping, or do those correspond with the drag marks? It seems to imply that they do...

Shuichi and I are all about those implications and circumstantial evidence lol

Meanwhile Maki is all about that supposed ‘direct’ evidence. Which, you know, fair! .... is what I would say if I didn’t think she was participating in a cover-up. But the motive behind the coverup... just saying ‘she wants to save Kaito’ isn’t really good enough for me, because that means she’s forfeiting everyone else’s lives in the process of the trial proceeds by its own rules - which it seems to be doing.... And, yeah, everything outside is gone, and she did agree to mercy-kill everyone before they saw the flashback light, but -

Oh, that’s an interesting thought. Kaito overthrows Kokichi, accidentally killing him in the process thanks to Maki’s poisoned arrows. Kaito succumbs to illness, or is going to in short order. Monokuma AI is still up and running, and Maki thinks it’s just because it can run independently of Kokichi, maybe? So she takes advantage of it in order to mercy-kill everyone like Gonta (and maybe Kokichi) wanted last chapter, while letting Kaito die without anyone else thinking he was a murderer? Is this her using her Ultimate Assassin ability in the most compassionate way she can, maybe?

I.... don’t know if I’m 100% satisfied with that answer... but it is an answer..........

It’s not a question of wants, my dear Sweetcheeks - she needs to push this narrative. The real question is if she actually believes it herself.

Defeat... but how does this defeat him? The theory I have addresses why she would be so determined/have more knowledge than she’s letting on, but it definitely doesn’t neatly answer how implicating him as the culprit would ‘defeat’ him outside of letting Kaito out unscathed. :x

Oooh, are we going to address that point now? I feel like once we’ve resolved that, we’ll be ready to start breaking things down into easier-to-solve chunks!

Good question, tbh - why did Kaito’s voice come out of the exisal? I’d consider the idea of them both being in there, but... but we discovered a body, right? And bloodstains? Unless an old body was reused (and there’s precedence in the series for that), but I don’t know how they would manage it???

Also I’m mad at myself WHY did I accidentally delete the ‘cracker’ cap, japanese Kokichi literally just said ‘cracker’ out loud and it was amazing!!!

Have No Fear Of Perfection

Chapter 3 - Simple Man

The look on Karin Normandy's face was one of absolute horror as the shimmer in the air of the testing chamber Ray once stood in was now empty save a haze of gray and brown that stayed in the vague shape of her charge.

"Temperature and pressure gauges suggest young Raymundo can withstand a terrib-" the heroine, Relic Quarry, shot the Senior Technician from the PRT a scathing glance as he spoke, "-ly fantastic amount of pressure. He appears terr- ifically durable in this form at least."

Arkady casually twisted a couple dials then tapped a button on the testing console, "The atmosphere of the chamber is reset Ray. Feel free to resume your physical form."

Relic Quarry watched the test subject solidify back into his hoodie and warmup pants clad human form. As she studied him, while he was straightening his clothes, she noticed him scratching his forehead a bit more than a casual scratch. She turned to test subject's guardian, "So, Karin, ahh you said he could travel while in that form?"

Karin nodded assent in response, still not one for words at the moment.

"So he's a Shifter-Mover with a Breaker subtype?"

Arkady put his hands on the small of his own back, his gut thrust forward a bit, and a light popping could be heard, "No no, dearest hero. Shifter is old term. Ray here possibly exhibits Changer-Vreaker-Mover classifications. We'll specify as tests and post interview draw to conclusion."

"Ray says he can travel to places he can recall in his head and just -poof- he thinks he's floating slowly but in reality he's travelling a two, three hour road trip in minutes", Karin spoke as she pulled a handkerchief from under her sleeve and dabbed at Ray's forehead as he stepped out of the chamber.

"I think it dried out my skin, it's kinda itchy", his scar covered forehead seemed even more red and enflamed over his eyes.

"Don't pick it anymore, I'll get some ointment from the van for you. Okay?"

Ray's eyes flicked over to the twenty-something brunette heroine with the grenade launcher as she stood near the older Russian man, "Nah, nah, I'm aight. I got this, no worries, Ms Normandy."

"Ah-huh, I'm sure. All the more I'll get it anyway, Ray."

He tuggeddown on his sweater's hood, "Oy, you're killing me here."

Karin chuckled a moment then sighed, "Just be careful it's - dangerous."

"Arkady said she uses non-lethal-"

"The tests, The Tests, Ray. Focus, we're here to see what you can do but safely. Call out if you feel any discomfort or pain or unease."

"Ahh, my ears alight with warmth, I hear young Ray call me and Arkady has returned."

Ray noticed the Technician's manila folder under his arm definitely thickened with more paper print outs as he left the console behind and proceeded to a new corridor, the rest of their group following.

"So this a pass-fail kinda testing or -"

Relic Quarry interrupted, "No, some of this equipment was meant to test industrial and scientific materials for military and civilian aeronautics projects a long time ago, so the results will be scanned and sent to the PRT servers and the heroine Dragon for thorough data analysis and give us insight to your powers and their effects- especially your durability and what type of form you take."

"Is phase shifting, quantum matter state. Very low threat, like a one, maybe two", Arkady chimed in.

"I, on the other hand, think your molecules diffuse and reduce your air resistance which allows you to travel quickly with either little energy expenditure or a massive energy draw. Considering how your clothes, which seem new, transformed and returned to their same form with no obvious deformity due to Manton Effect says you could be somewhere in the range of a six to eight depending on your power's encumbrance."

"Yes, yes, Quarry, numbers are numbers but I say phase shifting from solid to gaseous-plasma state."

"Nope, he's definitely moving so fast he's dodging the air molecules. And as a PRT liaison from the Protectorate numbers definitely matter to the public."

"Eh."

"Arkady Kuznetsov, do not 'eh' me. I have a patrol after this and I'm dragging a Ward with me so do not tap dance on the last few fu- feelings I have left to give with immaturity", the heroine crossed herself and kissed the black painted large, wooden beads that served as the sling for her grenade launcher.

"Okay we leave it to Professionals upstairs, I am just Senior lowly technician and you carry gun and very big knife", the older man smiled again with just the lower half of his face.

Karin turned to look at Ray as their escorts bantered, Ray simply shrugged and threw up his hands quietly baffled.

Unease was exactly what he felt when the robotic drone approached Ray in the current testing arena. His eyes darted around seeing scorch marks, gashes, slashes, and recently filled impact sites on nearly all the surfaces around him. With a sigh he pulled his hoodie off, bundled it into a ball and granny tossed it towards the least scorched corner of the testing area.

"Can't I just let Relic Quarry fire some rounds at me, maybe? Please?" Ray said as he leaned slightly away from the approaching robot.

"Eh, dearest Quarry had to go and retrieve her Ward for Patrol early. And as Ms Normandy's Youth Guard hero representatives are late you will have to deal with Ms Dragon's practice drone interim."

"Ohh, then robots make uneasy. Tapping out here, Sir."

Ray attempted to walk away from the drone and it quickly spat a wad of white containment foam securing one of his new shoes to the padded floor.

"Pretty sure that robot cheated, aaaaand ruined my new shoes."

"Fight! Win! Go go, Ray!" Arkady mimed throwing punches before turning back to the monitor bank.

The drone reared back like a viper about to strike. Ray diffused into his ghost streak form, it now carried a few flecks of white in the lower part of the streak. The floating robot sagged under the weight of the scarred teen and Ray's body kept trying to diffuse but the foot connected to the bot refused to change.

"Uhh, is calling Uncle an option at this point?" Ray asked as he lay on the floor and the drone slightly dragged the teen.

"In programming of drone there is no stalemate so until only one of you is completely done it stop."

Wads of containment foam expanded near his head and shoulders as the drone kept moving and attempted to spin to get a better angle to secure Ray.

He felt the tugs from the bot over and over with the sight of the expanding foam filling his vision. Ray's thoughts raced back to the night of the Endbringer attacked.

The massive ice chunk filled Flaco's vision when he looked back over his shoulder. The coming cold leeched the heat from the air around him, the icy waters that pushed it spattered the back of his leg as the other stretched forth and futilely pulled him forward.

When the ice and water collided with his back he felt the shock run its course to his still breaking heart. In that moment the dark sky opened it's great maw and swallowed him whole. Starlight and void served as the stage for what his Mama would call Angelitos, and his Abuelo would call fucked up, as the pair chased and danced across the black celestial ocean of the places scented candles try to describe.

The next thought was the cold on his back gave way to discomfort as the clothes on his body tore free, his vision blurred as moisture and oils on his body wicked away, and the air itself felt thick and clawed at his flesh.

Blinded by pain he kept running until he no longer sensed a thing but the cold pit in his chest before passing out.
