Is there any pressure?

No pressure at all. Fill one prompt. Fill all the prompts on for the month. Do however many you please.

Can I fill more than one prompt with one piece of art/one fic?

Yes! You can fill one prompt with one piece of art or fic. You can try to fill all 30 prompts at once with one piece of art or fic. If you can fill every single prompt from every single day in one fill, that’d be wild but it’s okay by the rules. You can do any number in between.

Are there any prizes for making anything for this event?

Just the satisfaction that you made something cool.

Should the work I make be Sam Wilson-centric?

Yes. You can make a gen work or a piece with any ship with Sam Wilson in it, but the main focus should be Sam Wilson.

How long will this event run?

For Everyone:

2. Please also tag the prompt you’re using (for instance, if the square is “Redwing”, use “#redwing” as one of your tags when posting about it on Tumblr).

3. If you’re uploading to AO3, please:

a ) Say somewhere which prompt you’re filling.

b ) Add it to The Samtember Collection (under Samtember2023).

For Artists:

1. Create at least one piece of new art that can’t have been posted anywhere else before this.

Things to be mindful of when creating:

For Sam

Avoid framing Sam only as a caretaker or emotional support for Bucky. Be mindful of Sam acting angry or aggressive in an out-of-character way and falling into the angry/sassy Black man trope (check out the MCU source material to help with character traits).

Avoid decentering Sam as a main character and refrain from focusing entirely on Bucky.

In art: avoid whitewashing Sam’s skin and research drawing Black characters.

General disclaimer: Race affects every aspect of his life, including interacting with police/government and the white structures of the world when it comes to performing his duties as Cap and simply being a Black man that lives in the U.S.

New Year's Ask Game for Fic Writers 🤍

I was tagged by a couple of pals to do this a few days ago, and i'm finally getting to it! thank you @ardent-fox @suzy-queued @energievie 🖤

To close out 2023…

1) What fic did you have the most fun writing this year and why? Or, if you can’t decide, what was most fun about writing this year for you?

the most fun i had was while writing honeycomb, because julissa @heymrspatel and i got to play with our horny psychic link again and it was the BEST.

2) What’s a scene/story that you finished and felt “wow, I really accomplished that, that actually went so well”?

let them see. writing ian and mickey fucking with an audience and making it believable was HARD. i'm still not sure how well i accomplished that, but i'm proud of it.

3) What helped provide the most inspiration for stories, if anything? Was it poetry? A song on repeat? A gorgeous gifset? A walk outside? A book you read that made you want to change everything? Whatever it was! Tell all.

i listened to infinite granite by deafheaven on repeat. i just think it's beautiful, and it's good music for zoning out and imagining. lyrics from that album sometimes serve as working titles for my fics before they get real titles, and in fact i did name a fic after lyrics from that album. waiting in the light

4) What is something you want to share about what you’ve written this year? A particular line, a comment that made you feel really good, a scene that was difficult to write — you get to choose! What do you wish someone would ask you about when it comes to what you’ve written?

i just wanna talk about feels like a dream. setting the atmosphere for that was so fun. i wrote it so quickly, i could see it all so clearly in my head. i wanna talk about ian sucking on mickey's tongue. i wanna talk about the moment ian puts the collar on mickey and how he gets him to tell him why he wants it. i wanna talk about how ian talks to him and takes care of him and makes him feel owned. i wanna talk about how mickey sucks ian's dick like he needs it to live. i wanna talk about how important the atmosphere is in that moment, how even they felt like they didn't want to move too quickly and disturb what they had built up that night. i wanna talk about how mickey's so sleepy while ian's fucking him that he wonders if his orgasm is going to jerk him awake or make him even more sleepy and blissed out. oh god, and mickey calling ian daddy throughout. i just think it's sexy. i wrote it in september but i posted it at the very end of kinktober when people were likely just burnt out on it, but it's there and it's dreamy and it's kinky and i like it.

And to start off 2024…

1) Do you have any writing/creation goals for the year? What are they?

yes! i just want to post more fics. i still want to participate in kinktober and i want to format it differently this year. i want to write a multichapter au as well.

2) Is there a fic or idea that you’re really excited to be able to continue to work on in the new year (shout out to my fellow fic writing folks who take forever to finish wips, sometimes it’s nice to be able to continue working on something even if you wish you’d gotten it done! Now you get even MORE time with it!)

yeah, that multichapter au idea! i had written quite a bit for it and i HATED the direction it was going in and it made me want to scrap the whole thing. i had a helpful conversation about it with bee a few weeks ago and i've got new ideas for it, so really i want to tackle that. it just feels daunting because i've written thousands of words that i feel like i need to get rid of. i basically need to start over to make it work. but it'll happen!

3) What’s something new in your writing you want to try/are going to try? A different writing style? Different fandom? Darker works? Fluffier? Longer or shorter?

baby's first au! also i think i mentioned this before but i wanna try writing destiel smut. like deeply emotional, feral, inhuman, otherworldly reunion fucking. we'll see if i ever get to it though.

4) What’s something you love about your own writing that you will continue to appreciate in the new year?

i think i'm good at writing physical sensation. i find smut really fun and i think i'm pretty good at it. not just because i'm good at describing physical sensation, but for all kinds of reasons. i think i'm reasonably good at keeping ian and mickey in character while they're doing all kinds of things, and i like that. i think i'm good at setting a tone and atmosphere. i don't know man i just like it to be a sensory experience, and i think it often is.

You can tell this week's episode of Taskmaster was extra kinky and weird, because every time I scroll through the tag, I find about 30 more posts scattered throughout that weren't there the day before. Like, Tumblr keeps hiding things for review, because Alex Horne and Greg Davies are still pretending this is a family show despite so much evidence to the contrary, and now people have to deal with their gifsets not showing up in the tag because even Tumblr's automatic filters can tell that there is some fruity fucking bullshit happening on Channel 4 on Thursday nights.

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these- well over a month, I think. Oops. Well, first off, I have finished the Belle Mirrorverse book; it was darker than I expected but I think it did a good job of putting a new twist on the 1991 film.

I’ll probably read my library books next, although for Reasons I’m going to wait until the 25th to read Night Watch. Lately, I’ve also been using the library to skim the ER TV series (AKA only watching the special features because I’m a wuss). I’ve taken a handful of screencaps that I might end up posting here.

Confession time: I skipped an episode of the new ATLA show because I’d heard about the changes to Bumi’s characterization and I did not want to see it. Which was extra frustrating because I like Utkarsh Ambudkar from his role on CBS Ghosts and I think he would have been great as a more cartoon-faithful version of Bumi. So I’ve scheduled a weekly Jay post for this summer. Back to the new ATLA show: it was a mixed bag for me but I will probably watch the next seasons.

While I have no plans to watch Bridgerton, I clearly have not been immune to the pretty gifsets, especially when they feature Simone Ashley’s character. Similarly, I’ve enjoyed some fan content of The Owl House but right now my media backlog is big enough I’m not likely to get around to it any time soon.

Movie-wise, I rewatched Love & Friendship on the 4th and BATB 2022 on the 5th. Because I needed some comfort movie content. I ought to watch some movies I haven’t seen, like The Mummy, Sense & Sensibility 2024, or Chess in Concert. Hopefully I’ll have made the time to watch them by the end of the summer.

I’m still greatly enjoying Static Shock, Leverage, and The Librarians. They’re all fun shows with great characters and interesting storylines. My posting priority has been Static Shock, but I might end up posting more The Librarians content over the summer. Side note: I’ve learned that ER actor Eriq La Salle directed an episode of The Librarians so that’ll be fun when I reach season 4.

There’s been quite a bit of overlap between Leverage, The Librarians, and Star Trek so far, with more on the way. I know Jeri Ryan is about to be a reoccurring character on Leverage, for example. There’s also some XWP overlap, which would be surprising given that XWP was filmed on the other side of the Pacific except I’ve already seen overlap between Disney-era Power Rangers & Stargate.

On the other hand, I’m not really into ST TNG despite being at the start of the third season. I guess I’m primarily a ST DS9 fan. I don’t know why the show isn’t clicking for me, but it isn’t. Maybe it’s just that I’m more into the other 3 shows and I don’t have the bandwidth for a fourth? I feel bad because I know it’s an important show to a lot of people but it’s looking like I’m not going to be one of them at this point. It’s extra frustrating because I do like the characters but the show as a whole just isn’t gelling for me and I don’t understand why.

With its upcoming 20th anniversary, I’ll probably schedule a daily SGA post throughout July. I might similarly get Power Rangers off my back burner for August. Part of me does want to check out the newer seasons, but my to-watch pile is massive enough without adding them. Especially since the end of August will see the return of The Rings of Power.

I think I need to do these posts more regularly, otherwise they end up sprawling like this. This spring has been a Lot, though. Hopefully everyone’s summer will be calmer.

Conclusions:

Favorite show of the year is hands-down bar-none Blood & Treasure, but Abbot Elementary is a close second. The best reality show this year is definitely The Amazing Race. And among the older shows, Maid is fantastic and very much worth your time/my leading favorite among them.

Best comfort-food sitcoms: Ghosts, United States of Al, Family Reunion, Enlisted and The Exes are all a warm delight.

Also, doesn’t qualify as a comfort-food one but Mythic Quest is surprisingly entertaining, for someone who’s never played a MMORPG in her life and whose last video game attempts were done on a PS2. I just hate the language (and Ian).

And all of the rewatches, obviously, sheer perfection. *chef’s kiss*

Do you love Obi-Wan and Maul as characters and have a particular fondness for all the ways these characters can interact? Well, let me continue my best impression of a shady used cars salesperson as I tell you about the opportunity you have to show that love!

Namely, the Obimaul Creation Event, a month-long event for creators to craft a transformative work that shows their appreciation for the obimaul relationship!  A couple of us obimaul fans put this event together after seeing that these two did not seem to have their own “ship week” or similar event. We will officially be holding this event throughout March of 2022, and we are open to creators of all kinds! Here are the rules of the 2022 Obimaul Creation Event: 

Platonic obimaul is 100 percent welcome! We just want the focus to be on their relationship to each other, however that may be perceived.

Poly ships are also welcome! However, the main focus should still be obimaul and please tag it as a poly ship in case not everyone is into it. 

All transformative works are welcome, from detailed headcanons, fanart, fanfic, gifsets, moodboards, playlists, photos of cosplay, exquisitely crafted joke posts, etc. If you put any effort into making it, it counts! 

All gender headcanons of the two are welcomed.

I'm glad that you finally did, it is indeed interesting, I watched it only once when it came out and yeah Seb made it worth it and he looked damn gorgeous in it! We actually have a brand new made of iron, born of fire fic coming out in a few weeks for Mother’s Day!!!! Sadly it’s taken literally a year to finish. I still have to wrap up the final section.

…it’s been a weird writing year.

But it will be done by then, so help me, and it’s like 15k words and super super cute and self indulgent! Ironmom AND dad. Our specialty.

We also have like. 2 other biodad WIPs that we’ve been poking at throughout the last year, but they’re still preeeetty in progress, so that’s just me saying we we haven’t, like, given up the ghost, lol.

ASIDE from biodad, I actually have a fic I’m still working on in fits and starts that I’m super excited about! It was supposed to be a fill for Pepperony Week, but naturally, because it’s me, the idea got out of hand and now it’s a whole thing.

But it’s about Tony and Pepper growing old enough to be grandparents and how great they are at it. :)

It’s a spiritual successor to A Title You Earn while also being a bunch of other soft “Tony keeps adopting kids in his vicinity and then they have kids” sort of things. It’s really sweet so far, I just have a couple of sections I need to flesh out past the idea stage, still.

This tag game has unexpectedly led to an interesting discussion about what exactly an “Endgame Ship” means... which seems to be largely open to interpretation. I’m still not sure how I see that term, but for the purposes of this post, but to narrow it down and not mention way too many ships, I’ll take Endgame in two different meanings: for “Favorite Ship(s) That’s Endgame”, I’ll take it to mean pairings that were together and in a happy relationship at the end of the story. But for “Ship(s) You Wish Had Been Endgame”, I will take “Not Endgame” to mean that the ship was not treated as these characters’ main romance at the end of the show, or at least there was a lot of ambiguity and/or a rival ship for one or both characters was instead the current one at the end of the story. (A lot of my favorite ships have the tendency to end up unhappily in spite of being portrayed as the main romance of the story..)

Warning: this post contains spoilers for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Agents of SHIELD, The Hunger Games, The Leftovers, The Americans and The 100 (though if you’ve spent any time on my blog, you’ve certainly already been spoiled for the ending of The 100) and .

1. First Ship - When I was about 4 or 5, I was obsessed with Lady and the Tramp (I had a book version with a few pictures and it fell apart from how much I was reading it - it may have been my first book that wasn’t mostly a picture book), so I guess my first ship was two dogs (which is really appropriate, since I love dogs). If we’re talking TV, again going back to my childhood, before puberty and before I even knew what “shipping” was, I remember being pleasantly surprised when Raquel first appeared on Only Fools and Horses as a love interest for Del Boy - the show was an episodic comedy where the two brothers, in the early years, usually didn’t have a serious love interest. I thought “oh, he really is in love with her! And she feels the same, and they are so cute together.” I hoped she’d come back and wouldn’t just be a one episode character but a long-term LI. And then I was so happy when that very much did happen. I guess this can be considered the start of my TV shipping (and also an early sign of my love for contuinity and longer arcs on TV).

2. First OTP - Ignoring pre-puberty: at the age of 12, I was really obsessed with Wuthering Heights and Heathcliff and Cathy and read the book who knows how mny times. Regarding TV, I’ve shipped over the years, but I guess the first TV ship I would really call my OTP was in This Life, a 1990s UK drama about a bunch of 20-somethings in London, which I watched on TV in 2001. which now sadly seems almost forgotten. Anna and Miles had an on-off, love-hate relationship throughout - they were sexy, snarky, and it was painfully obvious that they were in love, but these idiots had trouble admitting it to themselves and even more to each other. If it had been a romcom, they would’ve been certain to end up together, but it was a realistic drama.

3. Current Favorite Ship - Bellarke - oh, what an OTP of all OTPs that was before it was stupidly destroyed out of spite. Over the last couple of years, Dark (season 3 mostly) made me really love Jonas and Martha (the first pairing I’ve made gifsets about), and most recently (last month!), I binged Halt and Catch Fire and fell in love with the show and with Joe and Cameron’s relationship (which, I just realized now, shows that my taste in OTPs hasn’t changed in 20 years).

If we’re talking current as in, in current shows rather than finished ones, then  Kanej (Shadow and Bone), Harlivy (Harley Quinn), Gereon and Charlotte (Babylon Berlin) and  Roy and Keeley (Ted Lasso).

4. Your ship since the first minute - I really rarely ship anything from the first minute (unless we’re talking Morticia and Gomez, who are of course already a perfect couple and nothing ever changes there). It usually takes time for me to fall for a ship. A rare exception is Roy and Keeley - their first one-on-one scene in S1 already had huge OTP vibes. 

5. Ship(s) You Wish Had Been Endgame - Do I even have to say it? BELLARKE. A hundred times Bellarke, who were portrayed as endgame before the showrunner decided to retcon and ruin them together with the show overall.

Others: Jessica and Luke in Netfix Narvel shows, May and Andrew on AoS, Willow and Oz; or, depending on how you interpret Endgame, Willow/Tara (some argue that it is Endgame as Tara is definitely portrayed as the love of Willow’s life regardless of everything else). Spuffy (again, there are different opinions as to its status as both the show and the comics ended ambiguously and tried not to have a clear Endgame pairing for Buffy’s character), Xander/Anya (if you take comics into account).

6. Ship You Wish Was Canon - Some would say Bellarke, again, but I tend to consider it canon. It’s debatable, for sure (if you only consider making out/sex and/or “I love you” as markers of canon, it is not canon; if it is enough for the show to make it so blatant in the first 6 seasons that you have to actively search for ways to deny it to make it sound platonic, and for actors to confirm it was portrayed as romantic- than it is.)

So my answer would be: Kastle (Netflix Marvel shows), QuakeRider (AoS), and Octavia and Diyoza (The 100) and maybe Faith and Buffy (mostly in the sense that canon could have explored the nature of Faith’s feelings for Buffy a bit more and a bit more openly).

7. Ship that Most of the Fandom Hates, but You Love - Angel and Darla, May and Andrew, Coulson and Rosalind (hated how it ended though). Miller and Bryan (because they were more interesting than Mackson, and Bryan had a personality), Though “ships that most of the fandom ignores” would be a more apt term. The one that most of the fandom does hate and I like it is Octavia/Ilian - I liked it for what it was, two damaged people finding comfort together in what could have grown into something more - instead of the “we’re ve just met and talked to each other once and we’re already IN LOVE!” trope that the writers of The 100 were so fond of.

8. You Don’t Even Watch the Show, but You Ship It - Why would I ship something from a show I don’t watch?

9. Ship That You Wish Had A Different Storyline -  BELLARKE (duh - the ending). Veronica and Logan (the ending, again). Coulson/Rosalind - they had such an interesting and fun dynamic that could have been explored much more; instead, the writers opted for one of the worst tropes there are, and I hated that entire plotline for so many reasons. Tyrol and Boomer on Battlestar Galactica - what they did with Boomer was crap. Baltar and Caprica - all the bad writing in season 4. This is a weird example of a ship that I shipped so hard for 3 seasons and that was given Endgame in every sense of the word, but, by that point, I barely cared anymore, because the writers forgot about their relationship throughout the final season and made it seem like they didn’t even remember each other, and then slapped a last minute happy ending. Plus they retconed/explained their connection in such a stupid and anticlimactic way that ruined it retroactively.

10. Favorite Ship(s) That’s Endgame - Everlark, Nora and Kevin (The Leftovers), Philip and Elizabeth (The Americans), and Josh and Della on Night and Day (a really obscure early 2000s UK show that was watched by maybe 100 people.) Some others worth mentioning: FitzSimmons, Niles and Daphne, Tim and Dawn (original UK The Office), Jake and Amy, Memori (the only bright spot in a rubbish ending). And of course, there’s Morticia and Gomez, though they are less Endgame and more AlwaysGame.

☕️ most underrated hoa friendships ?

eddie + jerome: the epitome of "cause problems on purpose." they both have too much chaotic energy and little-to-no impulse-control and after both of their relationship statuses are stable they would absolutely insist on double-dates all the time and (later down the line) constantly refer to each other as "brother-in-law" instead of by name, both of which the girls roll their eyes at (though they secretly find it cute)

fabian + mick: again, not necessarily underrated per-se but lbr the focus was mostly on fabina/jabian/mickra interactions so im counting it on this list. their friendship is actually really sweet, i feel like mick sees fabian as a younger brother even though fabian's absolutely the mom-friend. 

fabian + eddie: it was actually really heartwarming how they kept assuring and hyping each other up throughout 3a and i wish we got to see more of it earlier/later. also, given the dumpster fires that were their personal lives at various points, they probably had whatever the male version of "girl-talk" is every other night and that would've been fun to see too (à la fabian's entirely unhelpful advice-giving when eddie rants to him in 3x25). hc: between ammut's defeat and dinner in 3x40, eddie's like "dude patricia's being weird, and idk why, help" and fabian…fails to do so and at some point attempts to liken relationships to math equations, to which eddie says something like "you and mara would be a great pair" and that's why fabian goes up to her at the fireworks. eddie's like "dude that's not what i meant" even though that's exactly what he said

alfie + joy: basically this gifset lol look at them!!!

patricia + willow: alskjfl u know I have to mention this one even though they only interact like 1.5 times in-canon. they're my favorite random pairing ever and i just think that at some point post-s3 they're "forced" to spend some time together by alfie and they end up becoming really really close.

Consider This My Unofficial Chengning Manifesto

    I'm so sorry this is late, anon. I was in the middle of writing a much more in-depth post to answer this, but then real life got in the way and I'm not sure I'll finish it. I have a free moment now, though, so I'm going to do my best. It's probably going to be long, and rambling, and a slight mess. You have been Warned.

    So, Chengning. These two don't seem to make much sense together at first, considering that they've ended up on opposite sides of almost every conflict that involved them, but they actually share a lot of parallels and those combined with their differences make this ship so much fun to dig into. Jiang Cheng and Wen Ning are younger brothers whose older siblings would and did do everything in their power to protect them. They're the experiments of each other's sibling as a result of that protection (the first sentient fierce corpse and the first recipient of a golden core transfer). Both of them live in the shadows of their siblings' glory up until they become feared instead of admired, and both of them shared a connection with the other's sibling that ended in tragedy. For more Chengning comparisons, I will direct you to @elysean's gifset here.

    (To be honest, the things that tie the Yunmeng Shuangjie and the Wen siblings together could be an essay all on their own, but this is about Chengning, so I'll move on.)

    What separates these two didis is their choices, which we see throughout canon but I'll do a quick recap. Wen Ning endangered his clan for Wei Wuxian's sake again and again, but when the Dafan Wen needed help, Jiang Cheng didn't offer it. These two witnessed the destruction of each other's clans. Wen Ning killed Jin Zixuan. Jiang Cheng let both Wen Ning and Wen Qing march to their demise at Jinlintai. Skip to the present day, and Jiang Cheng becomes the only person Wen Ning loses his temper at while fully conscious, during the golden core transfer reveal. But a day later, Wen Ning saves Jin Ling and Jiang Cheng from Baxia, despite knowing how much Jiang Cheng hates him.

    By the end of canon, we're left with two people who are the last of their clans (save for nephews with different surnames), who share some very messy history and traumatic events, but also similarities and the potential to get to a better place. What can we do with that?

    Well, post-Guanyin Lan Sizhui and Jin Ling are going around night-hunting together, and it's canon that Wen Ning and Jiang Cheng follow their respective nephews around during hunts to make sure they don't get hurt. That's a lot of time around each other in forced proximity, where they have to be civil for the sake of the juniors. And possibly work together to defend said juniors from harm. At some point you have to go, Okay, you keep saving my nephew whether it was a deliberate choice or not, maybe you aren't completely terrible.

    Also, both sides of Chengning are removed from Wei Wuxian in this situation, who is someone who ties them together and exacerbates their problems with one another. There's a slightly better chance of open communication working out in the middle of the forest, away from the cultivation world and all the judgment and baggage that goes with it.

    I'm not saying these two work it out just like that, though. No, I'm of the belief that Chengning's first real step toward each other is hatesex, along the lines of Fuck you, you keep saving the only family I have left and you're good at it, and some mixture of unwilling attraction. Look, both Sandu Shengshou and the Ghost General are hot, single and lonely. In addition, I think it's hilarious to make Jiang Cheng have a very good time while regretting it more than most things in his entire life, and Wen Ning deserves to be mean in a fun way! Whether or not you want Chengning to acknowledge the things they have in common at this point is for your interpretation, but I think it adds to the pairing if their thoughts are somewhere around I hate you, but you're the only person who actually gets what I feel like.

    With Chengning as reluctant night-hunt chaperones and enemies-with-benefits, we have room for trust to form. An unconscious trust in each other to watch their nephews' backs in a fight, to watch out for each other, and while Chengning's lingering anger at one another is still counterproductive to where we want them to go, there's a twisted sense of trust to be found in that too. It provides them with a sense of agency- Wen Ning believes Jiang Cheng doesn't need to be shielded from secrets and told him the truth about his golden core, and Jiang Cheng has blamed Wen Ning specifically for his actions for a very long time. It's not exactly healthy, at least not at first. But having someone you can consistently rely on to view you as a person with flaws, who thinks you deserve to be held responsible for bad things and possess the autonomy to do so, is more than most have been willing to give Wen Ning or Jiang Cheng.

    Being able to trust someone's rage gives Chengning the open space to process their emotions, for Jiang Cheng to break down and Wen Ning to lash out. It's an outlet they both need, and these are two people who will be able to understand what the other person is going through regardless of what they think about it. There's something to be said for acknowledging the person across from you as a reflection of yourself, until you learn to see them not with hatred or anger, but something close to acceptance. Of them, and of yourself.

    From there, it's a journey for Chengning to be on the same side of something for once, and actively making that decision. It's about the slow unveiling of vulnerability! It's about healing yourself by doing the same for someone else! It’s about looking back at a fractured past and choosing to make the future something different! Everything I’ve said is just one example of how Chengning could go, of course, nothing is set in stone. But you asked specifically for my thoughts, so these are some of the broad points in a Chengning arc I like to see.

    The way I look at it, Chengning is not a soulmate story, it’s a story of two people who had to put in the immense, terrible effort of understanding and reconciling the other, and they got through those conflicts in the end. And once they’re actually together, Jiang Cheng and Wen Ning’s personalities actually go fairly well together. Their strengths are different, and they’re willing to confront in situations where the other withdraws. Wen Ning can soothe Jiang Cheng’s temper, Jiang Cheng can draw out more of the emotions Wen Ning keeps hidden. This already happens in canon, because Jiang Cheng has seen the anger Wen Ning didn’t show anyone else, and Wen Ning has seen Jiang Cheng at some of the most vulnerable points in his life. 

    And I have to mention this last point because we, the people sharing the one (1) Chengning braincell in this fandom have collectively lost our minds over this multiple times, but Wen Ning and Jiang Cheng each have sixteen years’ worth of touch starvation. To whoever’s bothered to read this far, if nothing else has convinced you to ship Chengning, imagine them cuddling. Imagine just a few of these touches, but reciprocated, and all the time. (If you want your fill of this, @gusu-emilu has been doing the gods’ work and writing fantastic Chengning cuddling for the few of us in the rarepair seats.)

    I could go on about Chengning for hours (and most definitely have on more than one occasion) but I think that covers the basics of this pairing. I’ll leave you to decide whether you ship it or not, though at the very least, I hope I provided you with a change in perspective. Thanks for the ask!

GOOD GIRLS GAME NIGHT

hello! the survey results are in. 50% of people voted for game night and 75% said that they’d prefer it this saturday, so it’s decided: good girls game night is happening on the 6th of march!

the post got long, so all the specific info is under the cut :)

TRIVIA

85% of people voted for trivia, so we’re playing that! (trivia was actually @foxmagpie​‘s suggestion, so many thanks to her for the idea.) trivia will be made up of 5 rounds of 10 questions each. the themes will be: season 1, season 2, season 3, beth x rio and bts. obviously, you cannot consult the internet or good girls episodes while playing.

since it’s impossible for everyone to be available during the same timeframe, trivia is going to be played twice: at 5pm gmt and at 11pm gmt. as i’m sure even with the two timeframes, some people still won’t be able to make it, i’ve decided that after game night is over, the trivia quizz will also be available to play alone for 1 week after. as the game will always be the same, each person can only play once and should not share the questions with friends who plan on playing later.

the vote on whether to play in teams or individually was pretty split, so people will be able to play individually, in pairs or in teams of 3. the website where trivia will be hosted does not support talk between teammates, so in the cases of teams, you will have to communicate with each other through other means (i’d recommend using a video chat app, like zoom or skype, so you can share screen and speak to each other) and only one person will be able to input the answer.

if you want to play as a team but don’t know who to pair up with, i’ve made a post where you can sign up to be randomly paired with another player. the link is in the comments.

PICTIONARY

only 30% of people voted for pictionary, but since half of those people voted exclusively for it, i decided to still include it in game night. pictionary is going to be played at 7pm gmt, which is the timeframe when the biggest amount of people who voted for it could play. all the words will be good girls themed.

WINNERS

there will be 4 different winners! pictionary will have 1 winner, which will be the person with the most points at the end of the game. trivia will have 3 winners, which will be the individual and the team that have the most points on saturday and the person/team that has the most points throughout the rest of the week.

the pictionary and the saturday trivia winners will get 3 IOU gifset requests each, which can be anything ranging from specific scenes to url or theme gifsets. the person/team that wins trivia throughout the rest of the week will get 2 IOU gifset requests.

all that’s necessary to redeem one of these is to send an ask stating what category you won and what is your request.

OTHER INFO

the links to the games will be provided approximately 5 minutes in advance in new posts. since neither the website where trivia will be hosted nor the one where pictionary will be hosted require e-mail registration to play, this should be more than enough time for everyone to sign up and settle in.

both games will require player usernames. i recommend using your tumblr url, so that it’s easier to keep track of who is who. if you decide to play trivia as a team, please put all urls in the username.

so that i can have a more accurate idea of how many people will be playing for each round/category and make sure the websites can handle the number of people, i’d really appreciate it if people who are planning on playing rsvp’ed in advance using the link that will be available in the comments and in the pinned post of this blog (it’s not directly linked here because tumblr is hiding posts with links), though not rsvp’ing does not in any way disqualify anyone from playing. you can also use this link to send any comments or suggestions you have.
