WHAT

I enjoy writing both vanilla/fluffy sex AND dom/sub dynamics. I am a huge supporter of the daddy kink and a classic ‘unprotected p in v’ tag. I personally lean more into a sub dynamic, so I prefer writing men that are more dominant in bed, but I am not against writing sub!m. In fact, I have a few fics and blurbs that are sub!m and they are some of my favorites. I will also write threesomes, but it is a large undertaking, and I prefer to brainstorm that content on my own. You are more than welcome to request a threesome, but there are no guarantees I get to it.

I will not write anything with dark!characters. The closest thing to dark!characters that I will write is a bit of gaslighting, like in my frat fever and all roads fics. I love a situationship as much as the next person, but non-con content is not going to appear on this blog. That’s rape. That’s sexual assault. As someone who has experienced SA in my own life, I will not allow that content to taint my blog. We are all here to have a good time. Rape does not equal “a good time.”

I love the Hughes brothers as much as the next person, but I will not write incest. I do not support writers who do. 

In that vein, there is a limit to a lot of the content I will write. I am down to write about having sex while intoxicated, but I will not publish content where characters are so intoxicated that they cannot consent. I am down to write a bit of somnophilia, but it is always consensual and discussed beforehand. The same is true with choking, slapping, and spanking– it is consensual and, in the event that something happens in the heat of the moment, the characters stop and check in with each other. Because that’s how real life should work.

I also will not write inexperienced!reader x experienced!player fanfiction. I have a Trevor Zegras series that explored that dynamic and, while I respect the people who enjoy that sort of content, I feel like it glorifies the process of losing your virginity to a “good, caring, perfect” person in a “good, caring, perfect” time, and that is not always realistic. Most times, losing your virginity is something that you will giggle about or cringe at by the time you become regularly sexually active. I often feel like the people who request that content are the minors lurking on my account (see more on that in the next section) and I will not cater to that.

WHY

I refuse to create any content that will negatively affect people. I am a firm believer that, despite the fact that my blog is NOT safe for minors, there are certainly minors lurking on here. I was once a 14 year old on tumblr dot com. I’m not a fool. Because of that, I will not be creating content that fetishizes abuse, toxicity, power imbalance, or violence between partners. Everything that I write will be safe, sane, and consensual. I will not write anything that breaks the law or the general code of morals that 90% of people in the world follow.

All of the relationships in my fics are meant to represent normal, healthy relationships where the participants are equals (even if their dynamic in the bedroom is dom/sub).

Jeff Buckley: Grace (Legacy Edition) (Columbia)

Remastered version of the original 1994 album with second CD of outtakes/rarities and DVD of Grace vids and footage of Buckley in Bearsville, New York.

AS GRUNGE lay flailing in the rain of Seattle, the last thing anyone expected was a bona fide prodigy appearing, messiah-like, to save the day for passionate melodic intensity.

But that’s precisely what Jeff Buckley did ten years ago. The fact that his legacy has been a regrettable line of mewling Brit impostors (Coldplay, Keane and their kind) should not count against him.

On first hearing Grace’s title track, time stopped as one drank in the miracle of its beauty – a kind of unbearable ecstasy that recurred throughout his modest body of work, not least on the sorely under-appreciated Sketches for My Sweetheart, the Drunk.

Posturing and affected as Jeff could be, music oozed from his every pore. The sweet pain of ‘Grace’ and ‘Last Goodbye’ remains, in these soulless times, an aural elixir for all true rock romantics.

Ten years on and remastered, Grace sounds more swoopingly lyrical and breathlessly eclectic than ever. ‘Lilac Wine’ is soppy and the take on Britten’s ‘Corpus Christi Carol’ mannered, but the soaring assurance of the rest – Zep echoes, Asiatic strings, Leonard Cohen cover and all – belies the album’s short gestation.

Eclectic isn’t the half of the Legacy Edition’s second CD. Here we have Buckley the chameleon, having a stab at Hank Williams, Nina Simone, Alex Chilton – even the MC5’s ‘Kick Out the Jams’. It all sort of works too, complementing two versions of ‘Dream Brother’ and one of ‘Eternal Life’ – as well as ‘Forget Her’, a sorrowful near-classic and this set’s ‘You Know You’re Right’.

Finally we have a DVD featuring the four Grace videos, a new clip for ‘Forget Her’, and a doc on the making of the album – complete with footage of Buckley and band working on it at Bearsville’s Studio A.

"I’m an easily distracted person," Jeff admits as he wanders Bearsville’s back roads in Ernie Fritz’s footage. "So this is great."

It was great. And it produced some of the most thrilling music of our time.*

UNCUT: How long has this Legacy edition been in the works?

MG: The hardest part was locating all the material. Because besides the famous Bearsville sessions, there were additional sessions held in New York. There were many, many takes of some songs, and there were some songs where there was only one take. Most of it I listened to as early as 1998, so it’s really been six years in the making, in terms of knowing it was there and choosing not to release it. The idea of including ‘Forget Her’ and using ‘Alligator Wine’ and some of the other things that Jeff wouldn’t necessarily have chosen for an album.

Why was ‘Forget Her’ replaced on Grace?

Well, that song came to him at a time when he was breaking up from a very important relationship [with Rebecca Moore]. He ended up not wanting to sing it every night of his life. I think he thought it would be a song that he would grow to hate.

Because it was too painful?

Yeah... and because it was no longer true. In fact he and Rebecca reunited later. It took a while to kind of figure out that maybe the two of them had some more growing up to do. Plus the fact that Jeff was about to embark on a life that would tear apart any relationship. He felt that they were too young to embark on a life commitment at that time, and he didn’t want to hold her back. But then we had a meeting with [Sony chief] Don Ienner in January and I said, I think this is really the time to release the track. I mean, it was all over the internet anyway.

With the remastering of Grace, do you hear the album differently?

Oh, absolutely. When we took the two-inch master and played it in the studio with George Marino, we heard a very different album. They used a lot more compression back in the early ‘90s, and it homogenised the sound. There are strings on the album that you couldn’t really hear on the original mastered version.

Is it fair to say that Jeff had a good relationship with Andy Wallace? It seemed like Andy was an almost paternal figure for Jeff.

Quite, quite. He was the perfect person for that moment, because Jeff was all over the place. It was significant that Andy came back in to the picture after the Sweetheart sessions with Tom Verlaine didn’t quite work out. I can remember Jeff’s manager saying, ‘Are you sure you want Andy back in? Don’t you want the album to be free of the artificial patina of production?’ And Jeff said, ‘Don’t worry, I got a pair of Size 12 Doc Martens and I’ll stamp on his wrists if I don’t like what he’s doing!’

- Daphne Oz was demonstrating some quick gift wrapping tips when Kerry Morton entered The Ring set and called out Starboy Charlie. Kerry Morton questioned Starboy about his commitment to The Southern 6 following last week when Marcus Mathers dragged Alex Taylor back to the ring setting up Taylor to be pinned by Giant Baba Yaga. Charlie reminded Kerry Morton that Starboy isn't a member of the Southern 6 and that they had something good going in CORE before Kerry brought Silas Mason and Alex Taylor here. But Starboy said this isn't about Morton choosing The Southern 6 over their faction. And this isn't about Starboy choosing Marcus Mathers over Kerry Morton. Starboy said it's about him choosing himself. With that Charlie walked off the set where Marcus Mathers could be seen waiting for him.

- Daphne, Veda, Sam, and Alyssa reviewed some of the new Christmas albums released this year, including the new records from Cher, the latest from Seth MacFarlane with special guest Elizabeth Gillies, and "Missile Toes," the second Christmas record from Smash Mouth. The Ring Crew is joined for the next match by Shaw Mason and Hunter Holdcraft.

Tim Bosby vs. "King Of Jersey Shore" Zack Clayton Tim Bosby defeated Zack Clayton with a rip cord lariat.

- Shaw Mason and Hunter Holdcraft made their way to ringside after the match. Bosby asked Mason when this was going to stop. Mason said that last week during a tag match against The Andersons, Hunter Holdcraft knocked a foreign object out of Brock Anderson's hand, and instead of picking that weapon up Hunter kicked it out of the ring. Mason said that yes, they almost lost the match because of the time Hunter spent making that decision, but that in that moment Mason gained some perspective on the value of doing things the right way. Shaw Mason admitted that while he still believes Bosby cheated in their first match, he couldn't prove it, so during their match on Thanksgiving Shaw planted the foreign object on Bosby to frame him. Bosby thanked Shaw Mason for finally telling the truth, but that he also has something to confess. Bosby said Shaw was right, he did cheat during their first match and he also cheated in his match against Tom Lawlor. Shaw Mason told Bosby that he admired his honesty, but what he admired even more was his competitive spirit. Mason said when he saw Holdcraft debate picking up that weapon but deciding not to, and that all that accomplished was almost costing them the match, he realized that he doesn't want to be partners with some goody two shoes that is afraid to do whatever it takes to win. Mason said that he wants the match on Christmas night against The 37KAMIINA, but that he needs a man with guts like Bosby re-join him in folkstyle so they can beat the 2023 Trios Kingdom winners. Hunter Holdcraft interrupted, saying that he has no idea what has gotten into Shaw and Bosby, but folkstyle can't have a trios match because he wants nothing to do with either of them. Bosby said that's alright, because he has the perfect replacement member in mind already. Mason told Bosby he should have said that sooner, and the two men attacked Hunter Holdcraft. Mason and Bosby each grabbed a leg and applied the ankle lock to Holdcraft until Giant Baba Yaga and Fuego Del Sol made the save.

olympic update: 2/6

hi everyone! if you didn’t already know, i’m a huge fan of the olympics (notice that my friendly kraken icon has some funky glasses now...) i love the sports and the spectacle, and it’s basically the only time you’ll catch me being a very patriotic american (lol). since the 2018 winter olympics, i’ve been making what is essentially a text newsletter for my friends, recapping what happened the day before. i’m doing the same this year, but i also remembered that i now have a tumblr blog where i post about sports, so why not share my updates with y’all? 

for the rest of the games, i’ll be sharing my daily recap of what happened in bejing, with medalists, event explanations, what to watch, and an updated medal count. it’ll mostly be about the bigger events, so if there’s a more niche sport you like and want to see covered (like my friend who wants curling updates), let me know and i’ll do my best to include it. these updates will also be pretty US-centric, so same deal, just let me know if there’s another country you want to see specifically. without further ado, let’s get to it!

Yesterday was a busy day in Beijing, so here’s what happened:

Women’s snowboard slopestyle was quite eventful. Zoi Sadowski-Synott of New Zealand took gold with a set of jumps her opponents couldn’t match, earning the first ever medal for New Zealand at the Winter Olympics. Sadowski-Synott is also the only other woman to win Olympic slopestyle gold, after American Jamie Anderson had a disappointing set of runs and missed out on the three-peat. The Americans were not left off the podium, though. Julia Marino took silver, earning the US its first medal of these games. Australian Tess Coady earned bronze. And if you weren’t watching it last night, be sure to look up the clip of all the snowboarders piling into a group hug to congratulate each other!

The other big event last night was figure skating, with women’s short program and men’s free skate took the ice in the team event. The story of the night was 15 year old Russian Kamila Valiyeva, who had a performance as close to perfect as you could get, earning a remarkable score of 90.18 that blew past her nearest challenger’s 74.73. Her performance also helped Russia overtake the US in the team standings, especially as Americans Karen Chen and Vincent Zhou faltered in their skates. The US is mathematically guaranteed at least a medal, but it will be up to Madison Chock and Evan Bates’ free dance, Alexa Knierim and Brandon Frazier’s pairs free skate, and Karen Chen’s free skate to determine what that medal is.

Once again, the US routed Switzerland in women’s hockey. The 8-0 final score came off a shutout from Alex Cavallini and two goals each for Hilary Knight, Kelly Panek, and Jesse Compher.

Aleksander Bolshunov of Russia won gold in the men’s 30km skiathlon, earning the Russian Olympic Committee its first gold.

Johannes Ludwig of Germany won gold in men’s single luge. American Chris Mazdzer landed in eighth.

Kobayashi Ryoyu of Japan won gold in men’s normal hill ski jumping.

Jakara Anthony of Australia won gold in women’s freestyle skiing moguls. American Jaelin Kauf earned silver.

Nils van der Poel of Sweden won speed skating gold in the men’s 5000, coming from behind in his last two laps to defeat Patrick Roest of the Netherlands and setting a new Olympic record in the process. But his speed is probably the least interesting thing about van der Poel- he’s a speedskater who hates speedskating. After finishing 14th at the 2018 Olympics, van der Poel stopped skating, joined the Swedish army, and started running ultramarathons. As he said post-win, “When you are a professional athlete in a sport that sucks as much as speedskating sucks, you’ve got to find a way to make it suck a little less.” And here’s another sound bite. When asked if this was his last season, van der Poel said, “I’ve been trying to quit two times and I haven’t succeeded. I don’t think I’ll succeed this time either. Maybe.” If that isn’t a vibe.

Australia is making its first ever appearance in curling, and they got their first win yesterday, with the mixed doubles pair of Tahli Gill and Dean Hewitt defeating Switzerland 9-6.

Meanwhile, also in curling, the US lost to Switzerland but takes on Great Britain later today in more mixed doubles round robin.

The men’s downhill event in alpine skiing was postponed to tonight after high winds stopped it from happening yesterday. Now we’ve got a skiing double header, with men’s downhill followed by women’s giant slalom (and the first appearance for Mikaela Shiffrin).

In other news, Elana Meyers Taylor, the gold medal favorite bobsledder, is out of quarantine, allowing her to get back to training for the two-woman and monobob events she will be competing in later.

Listen: I really like the tone of this voice. It’s great. I am not a fan of the song. There’s something just very off about the loud percussions (?) in the background that make me go absolutely crazy when listening to this. My sensory-overload-prone ears hate it, and I’m sorry...the part before the last chorus on the other hand I love. The whole song could have sounded like that and I would have loved it. (...and I can’t unhear “You are my broccoli – You know my broccoli!” ;-;)

Azerbaijan (Efendi – Mata Hari) Whenever I see Efendi, my brain still goes “Cleopatrrrrra!”, oof. This song sounds like a song I know. Which...is super unprecice, but I genuinely don’t know which one. I do like that they kept the weird pre-chorus thing from Cleopatra (and reference the song later on), but I must say that I liked Cleopatra more...but it’s a party song, so I think it will be fun on stage!

Romania (ROXEN - Amnesia)

I didn’t like her song last year, I don’t enjoy this all too much and I’m kinda sorry but also...I don’t want to apologize for my taste in music, lmao. I want her hair though. Give me her hair.

I mean...let’s be honest, it’s a generic swedish pop song. It sounds like every other Swedish entry, and I think that bothers me. I know, that sounds kind of...weird, looking at my choices higher up in the list, but...meh. I think this will easily qualify for the Final and place high, and I am totally okay with that. It’s just not...what I wanted, I guess? :D (and i’m sorry but as a german-speaker I cannot get over the name “tusse”) (oh, and tusse seems to be super cool)

Albania (Anxhela Peristeri - Karma)

Oh, we’re going to war in 130 A.D.? Fine, let me just pack my spear and- oh, Albania has already sent a singer? Ah, well, might as well give up and just vibe.

Czech Republic (Benny Cristo - omaga)

This sounds fun. Not a winner or anything, but fun. I’ll probably still be on Twitter when he’s performing, whoops.

Slovenia (Ana Sklic - Amen)

Wait, there’s TWO songs called Amen? And why do I actually kinda like this? Oh well, might as well just accept it. (Her voice though...mhmmhmhm…yes please)

Iceland (Dadi og Gagnamagnid – 10 Years)

We just vibin’. I liked Think About Things more, but I’m very much biased here...because I’ve known that song for a year now. But this is still very good, and very on brand. (And I understand like...half of the lyrics, but I am okay with that.)

Australia (Montaigne - Technicolour)

not australia flexing at all of europe that they can hold big gatherings! D: oh, but I like this way more than last years song. I feel like Montaigne can show her GREAT voice way better in this song. (Even though her outfit and the sound of the song reminds me of the UK song that had...a dude run on the stage. I can’t think of the word for it right now.)

Malta (Destiny – Je Me Casse)

Destiny’s voice is just….wow. This is very different than All My Love, but it’s fun. The topic of the lyrics kinda remind me of Toy, and I like that…..I don’t really like the music video (especially the dancers in the colorful dresses? idk), but I’ll just ignore that.

Germany (I Don’t Feel Hate - Germany)

Confession time: I actually actively enjoy this song. Everybod is shitting on it, but it’s FUN and it has a good message, and Jendrik seems like the nicest dude ever and...it doesn’t deserve all the hate it’s getting? It’s completely self-produced and just fun. Stop being mean. :(

(...also someone on youtube said “pewdiepie” and I can’t unsee that now so fuck you >:((...no, no I don’t feel hate, just rethink your life choices)

Moldova (Natalia Gordienko - SUGAR)

What in the “Eis.de ist in der Kiste” is this music video? And I thought I would absolutely hate this song, but I actually don’t mind it all that much. It’s actually fun. Oh no, I’m splipping, someone catch me, aaaaaahhhhh….(and that poor cake dude. Is this song about cannibalism? Does she want to eat him?)

San Marino (Senhit – Adrenalina)

Catch me hum the chorus of this song at least once a day...but honestly, without any malicious intent: what the actual FUCK san marino? This is so much better than Freaky, and even though I do not believe for one second that this will win, the simple outragiousness of bringing Flo Rida to Eurovision deserves attention. (Bringing someone like Flo Rida to ESC sounds more like Scandinavia/Bulgaria, doesn’t it?)

Russia (Manizha – Russian Woman)

Not gonna lie, I miss Little Big, but at least they are sending something that’s at least as weird. I love that. Russian Rap is cool as fuck anyway, so I’m fully here for this...but I’m glas this song doesn’t have a music video, this just has to be a live performance. (Oh, and another strong woman!)

Ukraine (Go_A – SHUM)

I’m SO glad Go_A are back. But, let me be completely honest: I know why they had to change the lyrics, but I still liked the first version better. BUT I feel like the new one will grow and me and it will climb one or two places, because the Instrumental just slaps SO HARD. (Makes me feel like putting on a Cybergoth outfit and start dancing at a German industrial park, lmao.)

Latvia (Samanta Tina – The Moon Is Rising)

Does this count as my guilty pleasure this year? I loved her song last year, and this sounds similar, so...I like this too. It sounds modern as fuck (well, for Europe, you know) and I can definitely...”vibe” with that. I genuinely really enjoy this, and I don’t know why. (Even though I prefer last years drop.) A lot of “strong, independent women”-songs this year, and I’m not complaining.

Switzerland (Gjon’s Tears – Tout l’Univers)

Just so we’re clear, this and Italy share the exact same spot. I just cannot compare them at all. Gjon’s voice just takes me hostage throughout this whole song and won’t let me go. And everything that isn’t english/is in the countries offical language immediately gets plus points from me. As if this song needed them anyway.

Lithuania (The Roop – Discoteque)

Aaaaaand...dance break! Good, I just love them so much, it’s not even funny anymore. And I’ve been singing this song randomly since it came out. I can’t stop. It has burned itself into my brain. Let’s dis-co-teque right at my home! *waves arms around with no sign of coordination*

(and does anyone else feel like he’s serhat, just with a different alignment? Like, they are both chaotic, but serhat is chaotic neutral and he’s either chaotic good or chaotic bad, it really depends on the way he looks at the camera)

Italy (Maneskin – Zitti E Buoni)

Italy delivers, as they do every year. Not only do I really like this song (it is very much my genre), THIS is an aesthetic I can get behind! Knowing Eurovision, I doubt it will win, but damn if it won’t be super fun! (I am so glad this won Sanremo, hah.)

Mika Hakkinen x Michael Schumacher :

Schumacher once said Mika Hakkinen was his biggest opponent, but what was a big rivalry in the races , was also a big friendship , and bromance off and sometimes on the grid . They both respected each other and always praised each other’s performances . But that wasn’t the only think that made their friendship stand out , what made people believe in their true friendship was in 2000 when Michael equaled his race winnings to the diseases Ayrton Senna, Schumacher broke into tears , and Mika was right there to comfort as co-worker and friend, even asking the press conference to give Michael a break . 💙

Max Verstappen x Charles Leclerc :

Max and Charles know each other from their years in carting as most of the drivers on their age range , but as they got to f1 a rivalry started to form between the two . Max taking the reputation of an aggressive driver who always goes for the overtake, to himself also contributed for them to have a collision . That did make the mood between them a little shaky but let’s face it Max has far worts beefs with other people ( Esteban cough cough Ocon ).❤️

Ayrton Senna x Gerhard Berger :

After the super toxic relationship Alan Prost and Ayrton Senna had, the swap from Prost to Bergers was seen as a good change of mood for the Mclaren team . What happened next made fans and the team even happier, Gerhard settled to his “number two” role in Mclaren , and started a very good friendship with Senna. However it did end bitterly as Ayrton departed from Mclaren to go to Williams with his story in formula 1 ending tragically with his death in the San Marino race in 1994 .❤️

Norstappen/ Maxando :

I have to say I was quite surprised when I came to know of this relationship, Max and Lando knew each other from their carting days but, seeing that’s Max is known to be a person who doesn’t make many friendships on track, I was a little skeptical. But I was convinced of their relationship/ bromance also because of the quarantine. Where Max and Lando not only played COD together , but we found out that, Max watches Lando’s live streams at twitch. The bromance between these two became even more powerful when they played on the online gran prix that brought together drivers from different modalities. In the instance when one of the drivers openly spoke in taking out Lando as this third party felt threatened by Norris. Verstappen went into his protective mode and showed the other driver that if he messed with Norris , he would also be messing with him. 🧡💙

Charles Leclerc x Alex Albon :

This bromance at least for me also started as many of the bromances of the new era, because of the pandemic. Alex Albon showed himself as being one of of the shyest rookies on the 2019 season , but he truly started to show more of his personality when he played video games with George , Charles and Lando . In one of those instances in wich him Charles and Albon’s little brother played fortnite . But there are other situations were their bromance really shows , such as the instance when Alex did some kind of sound , and that made Charles almost piss himself from laughing. 💙❤️
