This photograph was taken on the 6th of May, 1966. It shows both Ian Brady and Myra Hindley being transported after the jury had retired to consider its verdict.
The jury found Ian Brady guilty on all three counts of murder, and Myra Hindley to be guilty of Downey and Evans’ murder.
With all things considered, they were probably feeling quite lucky that they had been apprehended when they had, as the death penalty for committing the act of murder has been abolished just six months prior, leaving them subject to the only punishment available, life imprisonment. Arguably, this was a considerably more severe and meaningful sentence than the quick and easy escape of death, leaving them to think upon their wicked actions until the day they died.
Mr Justice Atkinson, in his closing statement, described that Brady and Hindley were;
‘Two sadistic killers of upmost depravity’, and that Ian Brady was ‘wicked beyond belief’.
(Apologies in advance for the watermark, but I don’t see this image very often so if I see a better quality one then I’ll replace my post.)

One of Ian’s memories as a child in Glasgow was watching a horse get put down on the side of an icy road, and watching it's breath fade into the frosty air. He remembered crying as he stared into its eyes and watched it die, and from then on had a fondness for animals and caring for them.
Before Ian died in Broadmoor Asylum, he asked for his money to be donated to four different animal charities.

Not a request, but after the past few posts I wanted to let you know that I saw the Detective Conan 4D / live action show at USJ last week and that was my first official introduction to the series. Seriously considering going down this rabbit hole now.
go forth and enjoy batshit insane detective stories. ignore the fact that theres 1125 chapters this is a normal manga that will definitely end someday
