... So I made this moodboard with Sayori's suppressed depression symptoms in mind and wanted to just focus on the way she must have felt in her last days. I'm sure she felt like she was drowning, desperate, and in need of everything least accessible to her. I'm sure she tried her best to suppress these feelings but they kept coming up even during cherished moments with friends and during her favorite activities. This encroaching darkness just kept closing in on her and she ran and hid until she had enough (or until Monika telling her to kill herself pushed her over the edge). While everyone else's dark moordboards felt exciting to make this one was just depressing. Maybe it's a bit dramatic to feel this way over a game but the fact that I couldn't stop Sayori from killing herself still really bothers me even though it was years ago when I first figured this out. Sayori is by no means my favorite character but I did come to love her devotion to MC. I found her need for my affection to be rather pathetic and while that repulsed me it was also very authentic. I really did want to save her and even on my very first gameplay I gave up on my initial Yuri quest- threw it all away halfway through- just to try to make Sayori happy.

And I know that I said that I would be making three moodboards for Sayori and I keep expanding it but.. I was wrong. I am going to be making four. Sorry to my viewers (literally just me and my one follower) xc

The characters of this game are just so complex and endearing that it doesnt do them justice to simply give them one or two boards. And that's why we all love this game so much. This is why Doki Doki Literature club has such a devoted fanbase- the characters. And when I thought the game couldnt get any better DDLC+ came out and gave the characters even more enhanced backstories with well-rounded emotional scenes. If you haven't played DDLC+ yet I highly recommend it. It is more of an interactive story than a game but it is written very well and made me love DDLC so much more than I already did (no sponsorship lol I just love the literature club). My only critique of this entire game is that I wish they had done more with Natsuki! Even the game creator himself stated that he wishes he had done more with her character. I especially wish that they had made her death scene more detailed/climactic- especially since it was so fucking hard to get to the scene (idk maybe it was jsut hard for me bc I am dumb but I was actually doubting that she even had a death scene for a while). Anyways this post is about Sayori so I'll stop here. I hope you enjoyed- or.. I hope this post resonated with you. Until next time~

One of the many things I love about the RoP fandom is that so many fanfics have headers and moodboards, and even trailers! I'm a huge fan of accompanying visuals. It's not a RoP exclusive thing, of course, but I have never been in a fandom where this was so common. 😊
