@moonshunned from "i plan to cling to my youth and lack of responsibility"
When Remus had asked about James’ plans for the future, he had expected an answer like that. He leaned to the side to push James’ shoulder with his own, playfully. “Hilarious. That’s not going to pay your bills though.” The Potters were wealthy but Remus was sure that James’ pride wouldn’t allow him to just rely on his parent’s money. Despite what James said, he must have started to ask himself what he wanted to do. It was a very difficult question, for all of them.
“I am hilarious, aren’t I?” James laughed brightly, as delighted by his own awful jokes as the physical affection.
He must’ve caught a little grimness somewhere in Remus’ expression, though, because a moment later his smile softened up a bit. “Ahh, I don’t know. ’Ll figure it out eventually, I suppose.” He’d toyed with the idea of trying out to play quidditch professionally, but the idea of traveling too much didn’t sit well with the brewing War and his parents’ health. Maybe he’d give spell inventing a shot; he enjoyed it enough, and his father would be so proud.
Or maybe he’d just throw all of his energy into whatever War efforts he could find, and a real job could wait until later.
“What d’you have mind?”

@moonshunned liked for a lyrical starter (Wait For It - Hamilton)
Hermione sat with a book in her hand and was talking with Remus. She was talking to him about all sorts of things but it reach the conversation on what parents told them while growing up or while they were young children. "I am the one thing in life I can can control." She said to him softly as she memorised the page number of the book she was reading and looking at him. "I am inimitable. I am an original." She told him.

He was inclined to agree with her. His wand was hidden somewhere in a hollow tree where Remus had left it before his transformation. Not that having it right now would have done him any good. He knew, much to his own displeasure, that Bellatrix was a fantastic fighter and Remus was weak and injured. And barely clothed. And tired. He wouldn’t have started a fight now either way, wand or no and that she didn’t kill him on the spot only meant that she was going to torture him later. “Yes, well, it wasn’t on purpose.” Remus licked his dry lips and yearned for some water. His mind was still too befuddled. "I was thoroughly distracted.”
˜”*°•. ❝ Oh I know. Distractions are a 𝚝𝚎𝚛𝚛𝚒𝚋𝚕𝚎 thing. ❞ Bittersweet tone dressing her words; head tilted to the side, traces of an almost empathy creeping into her face. ❝ Good that here there’ll be 𝐧𝐨𝐧𝐞. ❞ Fingers never ceasing to fiddle with the wand -- a warning --, she curled her lip with defiant scorn; he was no threat. Not at the moment, anyway. Not without a wand. Not while in such state. So easy would it have been; two words and another problem solved -- but he was needed // breathing, capable of talking --. Until all needing to be spoken, were spoken. Until use wore out, ebbed away into nothingness, disappeared into the thin air -- t̳o̳g̳e̳t̳h̳e̳r̳ ̳w̳i̳t̳h̳ ̳ ̳h̳i̳m̳, most probably --. ❝ Now now. You were quite in a hurry, weren’t you ? Wanted to go to someone perhaps ? Or hide someone. Alone in the woods… it is suspicious, isn’t it ? ❞

@moonshunned said: “ Boy, do I hate being right all the time.”
“Well at least you’re not modest; so it balances things out.” Grinned Fish as she looked at him from the couch. She had apparently given up any hope of finding the next task, as the abandoned books on the floor could attest. But it wasn’t such a big deal, considering Remus had just figured it out.
“If you’re done congratulating yourself, would you mind telling me what the next task will be? I’ll give you as kiss as a thank you.”

𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄 𝐇𝐄𝐑, 𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐊𝐍𝐎𝐖𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐈𝐒 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐎 𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐓. love was something eternal, for better or for worse, and she chose that life with him willingly. yet, with every confidence, andromeda recalls the initial bitter regret. she wasn’t prepared to lose her family, not yet. somehow, blood supremacy went over her head when she was first introduced to the politics of muggleborns in the wizarding world and what to do with them. she found it rather fascinating, being born into a single drop of wizarding blood, then making its way to the generation of muggleborns attending hogwarts. she believed that was why ted tonks grabbed her attention in the first place.
childhood was loving and affectionate, just as it should have been. andromeda’s kindness towards those even outside of her house made her stand out profusely, yet around her sisters, A FACADE WAS WORN. she recalls talking to muggleborns before, how interesting they were, and questioned their way of life. she supposed it was an eagerness to learn more. when her sisters came to her side, andromeda loathed how she suddenly had to talk down to them. she knew muggleborns like those she communicated with deserved more.
andromeda now nodded, sitting back into the chair she was comfortably on.
❛ when i married him, i thought i did. i think about it sometimes too, you know? ted asked me, dromeda? do you regret it? running away with him— i believe it was the best choice i’ve ever made, remus. ❜

for a long moment, he stood rooted to the spot, as if remus’s words had stunned the comprehension skills out of his brain. but really, he simply decided to give remus enough time to rethink his proposition out of the benevolence of his heart. at the very least, some adjustments to the way remus had phrased it had to be considered. the more he waited though, the more unlikely it seemed which caused his smirk to widen. trust remus to say things like that in that patented earnest way in which he spoke, to reach into sirius’s chest and twist the chords of his heart in the most blissfully painful way.
❛ oh, i don’t doubt it, moony. ❜ as he spoke, his eyes trailed the length of the boy, from his eyes, taking a detour where there was a scar that beckoned his special adoring attention, then down to his toes and back. though, now that the examination of remus’s body language was out of his system, it finally dawned on him that the boy was the perfect picture of unabashed relaxation and that having misinterpreted the offer was a possibility which increased in likelihood with each passing moment. ❛ oh. ❜ it was chocolate, wasn’t it? ❛ alright, then. what d’you got there? ❜

Bruised Petals
@moonshunned
When Lily’s eyes fluttered open, her head was pounding and her vision blurred, and for a disconcertingly long moment, she was utterly disoriented and her attempts at reassembling the pieces of her most recent memories were woefully futile.
It was the pained groan that escaped her lips as she attempted to rise onto her feet from the cold, hard floor she had found herself lying on that put the most terrifying of chain reactions into motion that she had ever witnessed or experienced the very moment her beloved Harry’s distraught cries pierced the silence and her memories of the hours before came crashing down on her without any semblance of mercy and violent tremors coursed through her form as two equally horrifying realizations appeared at the forefront of her mind:
One, whatever it was that had prevented Voldemort from murdering her child after he had rendered her unconscious would not dissuade him from making another attempt on Harry’s life.
And two, if she were to go downstairs now, her beloved husband’s corpse would be waiting for her.
With the Fidelius Charm having been broken and James murdered in cold blood, Lily was on her own.
She was just about to fight the paralysis that had overtaken her and rush to Harry’s side when her ears picked up on the sound of approaching footsteps, causing her battered body to achieve what had been impossible thus far: Jumping to her feet and hiding next to the door frame with her wand raised and clutched tightly, she braced herself for striking down the intruder who could be Voldemort himself.

@moonshunned from "fine. feel free to be my taster. i’ll be sure not to drink any if you fall over dead from it."
“I don’t think we got it that wrong to make it deadly.” Remus leaned close to their couldron and sniffed. “It smells exactly the way it shou-ACHOO!” He managed to bury his nose in the crook of his arm, politely. The smell itself wasn’t unpleasant but his nose had taken offence to the intensity of it. “It smells like it’s supposed to, it says here that it smells like ink and lavender if brewed correctly, and that’s definitely what tormented my nose just now. I’m pretty sure it’s safe.”
James laughed entirely un-politely, leaning away as Remus suffered the consequences of smelling too closely, then shuffling back over to pat his back. “I’m glad it is, mate,” he snickered. “Brave of you to fall on that sword for us.”
He hummed tunelessly as he bent down to check the cauldron himself. “Sure hope you wouldn’t’ve if you actually thought it was dangerous, though.”

@moonshunned asked ; ❛ Love is never simple. Not that I’m any expert. ❜
"You and Tonks make it look simple, so does Molly and Arthur." With a sigh, Eris rested her chin in her hand. Those had been the only good examples of romantic love in her life that she could recall, she'd rarely heard her grandmother talk about Orion in general much less with love and anytime she asked her father about his relationship with Elowyn she never got a straight answer.
"It was simple though, when we were teenagers. We kissed, did more than kiss, but there was a war and I, at least, felt like there was nothing to lose," She couldn't speak for Harry though, after all he and Ginny were a good fit, Eris could barely mask her surprise when George told her they'd broken up but at the same time she'd found herself relieved, like she could breathe again.
She'd had the conversation with Arthur already, but that had also been before she'd broken up with her current boyfriend and finally and maybe a tad dramatically admitted to Harry that she infact, liked him. And this definitely wasn't something she wanted to bring up to her father at the moment.
She raised her eyes to meet her uncles face. "Do you think it's worth it? Even with all loves difficulties?"

@moonshunned said “Oh. Not good?“
“Well, I wouldn’t say it was a bad first day, but I wouldn’t say it was great either.” Chuckled Fish as she poured both of them a cup of tea. “On the bright side, most students seemed to have a lot of fun. But a slytherin threw up after a nasty expelliarmus, and told me his father would hear about this.”
She sighed and took a sip of tea.
“How about you, Remus? How was your first day as Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher?”

˜”*°•. Not creepy ? It was preposterous, really. The way the school would sink lower and lower year after year. The way it’d reach bottoms of the most unimaginable, of the most ridiculous of natures. Mudbloods walking among them, treated as equals, their value equated with people of his kind. Their place in Hogwarts nothing but a͎ ͎ ͎h͎o͎r͎r͎i͎b͎l͎e͎ ͎a͎c͎c͎i͎d͎e͎n͎t͎ -- a disrespect to the wizarding world, an embarrassment --. However, classes losing every hint of rationality ? Teachers that could barely teach ? Rabid animals exhibited in lessons ? It was a bright new achievement. A new way to ridicule an already r̲i̲d̲i̲c̲u̲l̲o̲u̲s̲ school. A school doing nothing but polluting this world.
❝ You are right, Professor. It is not creepy. ❞ This class ludicrous since the very first day. The information useless. And the professor ? Peculiar to say the least. And yet, his participation in this -- whatever this excuse of an assignment had been --, apparently inescapable. As if learning about creatures like werewolves had been anywhere near his current priorities in the first place.. ❝ It is 𝚍𝚒𝚜𝚐𝚞𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐. ❞

@moonshunned said: ❛ read . (for Hermione)
Harry, Ron and Hermione felt LOST nowadays. They didn’t understand a thing in the supposed clues Dumbledore had left them, and they still didn’t know how to find the horcruxes. When their former professor had shown up, Hermione had asked him to read with her the Tale of the Three Brothers, just in case she was missing something. She knew Dumbledore had a reason for given that to her, and she had noticed the small symbol. There was something about this; she just knew it.
Once they had finished reading, she looked at him. “I’m trying to find a link between this symbol and this story, but... I don’t get it. I’m sure there is a connection though. Dumbledore wouldn’t have added it without a reason.” She explained.
