i feel like now is an appropriate time to share my buddie poem (eddie pov) i wrote on the 29th of october called like a prayer

i used to kneel in the pews, hands clenched so tight, prayin' for a truth that felt a little too light, thought that heaven was a promise i'd never own, but your name on my lips feels like holy ground alone.

candles flicker in the dark, sins i can't erase, but somehow, when i breathe your name, i feel a little grace.

i say your name like a prayer, in the quiet of the night, and i don't believe, but it feels so right. haunted by the weight of a cross i don’t bear, but i say your name like a prayer.

whispers in confession, secrets i can’t hide, you're the only thing i've got that feels sanctified. every "hail mary" just faded in the air, but i taste salvation when i find you there.

oh, i left all my saints at the altar long ago, but for you, i’d break every vow i swore to hold.
