[Shinigami angst, implied Mercigami.]

[Story takes place in Surprise Ending]

Moonrise was hanging out with Shinigami once again. This grim reaper was always nice to him. Calm, mature, the right person to go to for comfort. The little boy enjoyed her company, and Shinigami didn't feel so lonely anymore..

"Look miss Murata, did I do it right?" said Moonrise, showing a flower crown made of daisies.

Shinigami glanced at the crown, placing a hand over her chin.

"Not bad, Moonrise. It's very pretty. You're learning and improving." she softly smiled, praising the little boy. Moonrise couldn't help but smile too.

"I have a good teacher. Making flower crowns was difficult at first.."

"I'm glad I was helpful..Why don't you show your mother when you go back home? I'm sure she'll like it."

"Good idea, miss Murata" Moonrise nodded, looking down at the daisy flower crown. He smiled thinking about his mother's smiling face when she would see it.

At afternoon, Shinigami accompanied Moonrise back to Lux's and Merciless' house. Afterall, it wasn't a good idea to let a child walk home alone.

"Thanks for walking me home, miss. It was nice spending time with you today" Moonrise said, looking up at the grim reaper.

"Awe...I appreciate you keeping me company, Moonrise. I'm glad I was able to teach you to make flower crowns today. What would you like me to teach you next time?" Shinigami smiled, kneeling down to be on the boy's level.

"Oh, um..Maybe next time you can tell me one of your stories? They're so fun, they sound like old fairytales!"

Shinigami's expression brightened, and soon it was followed by a nod.

"Alright. Next time we meet, I'll tell you a story about a fox priestess and a handsome emperor. I remember my father telling me this story when I was little, and I wanna share it with you!"

Moonrise's eyes glinted with curiosity, and the little boy nodded.

"Can't wait! See you next time, miss Murata"

"Bye! Tell your mama and your papa I said hi.."

"I will!" Moonrise said, and there he went! Shinigami watched him go into his house, and stood up. She took a deep breath.

Just as she was about to turn around and leave, she noticed Goth from the corner of her eye, coming out of Lux's and Merciless' house.

Huh. Perhaps she had gone to visit.

Once Goth noticed her, she immediately walked up to Shinigami.

"Good afternoon, Shin. How was your day..?"

"It wasn't bad. Today I spend some time with Moonrise, but other than that..Just another monotone day, honestly." Shinigami shrugged, glancing away for a moment.

"I see..Also, um..I have something important to tell you..." Goth mumbled "But you're not going to like it one bit."

Shinigami turned her head towards Goth, raising an eyebrow. 'Not going to like it one bit'..?

Plus, she just came out of their house. That could only mean that...

"Goth..What did you do?" Shinigami's eyebrows furrowed.

"I told them, I'm sorry..About you being Merciless' soulmate and all.."

"...."

Shinigami put a hand over her forehead and let out a tired, disappointed groan. Well, this wasn't good news. Goth deeply sighed and continued:

"Look, I had to! It's for your own good, you're suffering enough. Don't you think you deserve happiness?? You finally found your soulmate and you're giving him up too easily!"

"Because I have no choice, Goth. He loves her, not me. Look at them! They are happy and in love, and created a family together. Why on earth would I want to ruin that? This is exactly why I told you to not utter a single word about it, but you didn't listen to me anyway!" Shinigami scoffed, starting to get irritated.

"But you're so miserable because of that! I don't want you to die, Shinigami!"

"But it doesn't matter. Does it? It's bound to happen. I'm just a stupid ex-maid with dead parents, unhappy and with a stupid job as a grim reaper. I wanted to at least die without making Merciless feel guilty, but I can't even have that!"

"No, no absolutely not..I will not let you waste your life like this. There is a solution here somewhere, I'm sure.."

"I quit trying a long time ago, Goth. The odds are against me anyway."

"Shinigami.."

"Stop trying to save someone as hopeless as me..How the hell am I going to face Lux and Merciless now..? What do I tell them? I'm sure Lux will not like this one bit."

"Just stop trying to run away. I begged Lux to let Merciless go so you could--"

"No! Goth, you really need to stop putting your nose in other people's business. This is terrible!"

"I'm doing this for you!" Goth spoke up once again, still stubborn on her own.

"I know, but this isn't good for anyone! You're just ruining their relationship over my stupid feelings!" Shinigami spoke with a panicked tone in her voice. "I appreciate the effort to bring me and Merci together, but we are never going to happen. That much is guaranteed. I'm going to stick around a little longer if that's what makes you happier.."

Goth stood still, unable to form any words. Shinigami also went silent, thinking how to solve this. Thinking what to tell Lux and Merciless if they came up to her and asked.

Things were going to be so..awkward between them. She didn't want that..

"I'm sorry Shin," Goth sighed "I just couldn't stand the thought of losing my friend at some point.."

"..It is what it is. All you gotta do is learn to accept it. I'm sorry."

And with that, Shinigami turned around and started to walk away, telling Goth "Have a nice day" before disappearing into the distance.

Goth was going to chase after her, but..decided it was best not to. Shinigami was feeling down already, she probably needed some time alone to think after this news..

Since surprise ending is canon. I'll wrote it first in here >:)

AHEM SO AFTER THE BATTLE.

Lux broke free for Passive Nightmare manipulation. Even so, Dream banned her from being in the kingdom of light because her sins.

Lux in the other hand, has forgotten what she has done. After broke free from Passive Nightmare, she became her old self. The shy and weak Lux...

Cross and Merciless follows her and they live in a small village, far away from light kingdom and darkness kingdom.

Hope was going to follows Lux too but Dream ordered them not too...

After that, Lux gave birth to Sunrise and Moonrise <3

Palette in the other hand, he stay single because he is done with relationships. Goth respected him for doing so. She then later became the grim reaper to help her father.

Palette became a king but he need an heir.. So he thought of Lux's children. How did he know Lux have children?

Well Drop secretly visits Lux time to time. She got caught by Palette and ended up telling Palette everything.

So Palette decided to take one of Lux children to his heir.

He gave Lux a visit. Tells her that he want one of her kid to be the next ruler. Lux refused because it's her goddamned children.

Palette couldn't fight Lux that much since Lux is ill after giving birth. Palette tried to convince Merciless to gave up one of his child but Merciless also refused and banned Palette from stepping in the village.

He gave Palette a warning and Palette left.

3 years later, Palette truly needs an heir..

So he burst into Lux and Merciless house. Took Sunrise basically kidnapping her.

Sunrise forgot about her real parents and thought Palette as her father. Palette doesn't treat Sunrise with love and care and he only raise her to be a ruler...

Everybody in light and dark kingdom (-Drop) believe that Sunrise is Palette's daughter because they don't know about Lux having children...

So- I was reading this again and I was reminded of my two little pieces of sunshine with abandonment and anxious attachment issues <3

(Random fact: Peth has a positive aura inherited from Dream and Moonrise has the ability to turn into a black sewer snot like her grandfather, Nightmare (Only Peth and Sunrise know about it. It only happens when Moonrise feels too, but, TOO MUCH negative feelings)

♥My headcanon about Merciless relationship with Moonrise and Sunrise <3 (plus daffodil cause I can't abandon my pup)♥

1. He do love them equally but Merciless definitely will spoil Moonrise with chocolates he bought.

2. Sunrise will knit a sweater called best dad for Merciless.

3. He know the twins allergies, dislikes, likes, taste in clothing, favorite books, foods and anything that has to do with the twins

4. Merciless is that one father that support his children. If Sunrise killed someone, he hide the body. If Moonrise like someone, he'll make sure to go through that person background to know if they're a good person or not.

5. Merciless be pretending to be Tooth Fairy for his children and the two of them are aware that Merciless is just pretending but decided to play along cause they both love their dad-?

6. Okay, Sunrise adore and love her father but Moonrise? Well... I guess not much but he is pretending to win Merciless favor.

7. Daffodil and Merciless will have the most adorable father and daughter bonding- Sunrise is jealous but Merciless love them equally so he make sure to wake up every morning, making hot chocolate for his children.

(ps: Daffodil is from good ending lore, so she still traveled but this time it changed to her traveled to surprise ending instead of bad ending)

Sorry, I forgot to explain which is Sunrise and which is Moonrise. Sunrise is the girl one, Moonrise is the boy one, I'll explain their personality later

I mean it's canon- since I'm changing surprise ending, it's also will be canon in that ending too. I really like Poth in E.L.A too. They are complicated but they do their best on trying to make it work and it works <3. So now Pastel is canon in surprise ending too!!!

Now he can get along with Sunrise and Moonrise.

STARCROSS AU [E.L.A] endings!

Good ending

Lux died and instead of Merciless who gets locked up in the cage, it was Starcross this time. Palette was about to kill Starcross but Drop begged him not to do it. Even if Drop scared of Starcross, Starcross is still a kid like her.

He spent in the cage for a long time. He didn't age up even one bit, he stay as 10 years old but he is mentally 21.

Drop did visit Starcross to tell him stories and give him books along with his favorite foods. He miss his parents and sister :')

He never get to see the world until Pastel (Palette and Goth son) decided to check him out of boredom. Pastel secretly started to visit Starcross. Surprisingly, they both shared lot of something in common...

So one day, Pastel take his father magic wand and freed Starcross. He help Starcross disguised himself. Starcross pretty much lived a normal life for a few months until he envy how happy Palette is after killing Lux.

So he pretty much planned a revenge and stab Pastel on the back and but Palette managed to take Starcross down once again.

This time, Palette killed Starcross.

Bad ending

In bad ending if Merciless died at young age, Lux didn't planned to destroy the multiverse. She just want the throne for herself even if it mean to eliminating her siblings. Since Starcross want Lux to take the throne, she didn't kill him. Lux after manage to get the throne, she accused Palette for treason and threw him in the dungeon.

It was a torture for Palette since Starcross basically absorb Palette magic by drinking his bloods day my day.

Palette gave up and he doesn't want to restart again, Nim (thankfully) after seeing how much Palette suffered, she decided it's the end for her grandson. (Note: Lux also execute Crescent for being unfaithful to religion.)

But

If Merciless were still alive, Lux would rather Starcross to take the throne since she want to live happily with Merciless.

Instead of fighting, Lux framed Palette. She poisoned Starcross drink and accused Palette for trying to kill her little brother because of jealousy.

Everyone believes it (expect for Crescent and errorink family). He was executed by Dream, it was a painless death for Palette, it's a second betrayal.

Even if they want to defend Palette, nobody can fight someone who has the highest authority.

So Palette gave up and Nim pity him.

Starcross took the throne and make Drop as his advisor. (Poor Drop, she's scared asf). Nobody die expect for Palette in here.

Merciless and Lux live a happy life and boom, Moonrise and Sunrise.

Surprise ending

Surprise ending can only happen if Merciless is alive in here.

Merciless is unaware of Lux and Starcross doings. So Palette kind of kidnap Merciless and begged him to persuade Lux and Starcross to stop this evil doing.

Since Merciless is a good dog that don't bite like the original, he helps Palette.

Merciless know how much Lux love him so he use it as an advantage. Lux luckily agreed not to hurt Palette anymore (because Merciless legit threatened Lux to unalive himself)

For Starcross, Lux told Cross and Dream about how badly she had influenced Starcross.

Dream was upset and Cross is ready to protect Lux from Dream wrath but at the end, they both get scolds by Dream-

Lux is not a princess anymore but Dream still let her live comfortably. For Starcross, Dream and Cross did what parents should do. Fucking communicating.

Starcross is sad and upset about Lux was banned from royal family. He throws tantrum like a child he is. Palette who saw the scene decided to comfort Starcross.

They had the talk, Palette made a promise which is if Starcross get better, Lux can be a princess again. Starcross agreed so he became better, it was not easy but he managed it.

For Lux, she is actually happy since she have Merciless. It's not like she care about Passivemare anymore. As long Merciless is with her, she will be happy to stay.
